Is Apple dragging its feet on iPOD settlement?

I submitted my iPOD settlement claim almost a YEAR AGO (June 12) to receive a $50 store credit. This relates to the class action lawsuit over battery problems. Yes, I have checked the settlement administrator Web site, and yes, I keep getting form letters from same saying the same thing: "For the latest information regarding this case, please visit our website at www.appleipodsettlement.com. Please refer to the “Important Dates” section for more information regarding the claims fulfillment schedule, but please note that these are only Estimated Dates. Please keep us updated with any address changes. Thank you for your patience." Settlement checks were allegedly going out beginning in MARCH. Is there ANYONE out there who also is experiencing this runaround? And please, no one chime in about this topic being posted elsewhere in the forum. I searched and couldn't locate a topic dedicated to this. I just want help, assurances, or some kind of answer. Thanks for any CONSTRUCTIVE insight or help.

The lack of response to your posts is because this is a technical support forum... not a place to discuss legal matters.
If you'd like information on the settlement that you're not getting from www.appleipodsettlement.com, you should call Apple directly.

  • Why is Verizon dragging its feet in the release of Windows Phone 8.1 for Nokia Lumia 822 and other phones?

I went to the Windows site and they sent me to the Nokia site. Nokia said it was a Verizon problem. Everyone seems to want to pass the buck. I suppose Verizon is going to blame it on either Nokia or Windows.

"I'm willing to bet there are way more Lumia users out there that really don't care if they get the update or not."
Really?!  Apparently, you're not reading many forums.  The number of forum users wanting WP8.1 on Verizon's site alone outnumbers those of you claiming that "no one really cares."  From these forums alone, I know of about 6 users (you included) who claim not "to care about the update."  Whereas I can count at least 6 times that number who claim otherwise.  And that is just in these forums.
Regardless of the update, my complaint is not about "getting the update" or even so much the amount of time to get the update.  My complaint is the total disregard, carelessness and outright rudeness Verizon has for its paying customers by not informing us on ANYTHING regarding updates.  Even if Verizon were to just come out and say, "We are working on something, but due to legal reasons, we cannot discuss it," at least that would be some sort of acknowedgement of our questions regarding these updates.  But to dismiss us, and ignore our pleas for information is just plan rude and not very good customer service.

  • Macbook Pro Mid-2012 Logic Board replacement, Apple Dragging feet?

    First some background:
I have a macbook pro 13" Mid-2012 non retina covered under applecare until Jan. 2016. Starting in late march, i had noticed some performance issues but never took it in as the issue would subside within a day or two. Going into the final two week of my college semester, the macbook started freezing and tacking almost 5 minutes to boot. Suddenly it would take 5 tries just to get it to boot. due to this, i had been unable to get the time machine backup to work as it would freeze for 12 hours on average.
So thenI took my macbook pro into the local authorized apple service center (on April 29th) as i suddenly got 'open error 5: input output error' errors and my mbp wouldnt boot at all. When i spoke to the servicer, he and I agreed that at minimum the hard drive was failing. The servicer made a time machine backup of the data on the hdd and got the backup on my external drive. He asked to keep the external drive as it has a partition that is a USB install disk of the latest Mavericks. Soon after he got the data backed up, the hard drive showed signs of failure to happen soon. So we agreedto have him replace the hdd. He hoped to have my macbook to me by May 5th. Well on May 5th, i got a call from him that with the replacement hard drive, the computer still had similar issues and was able to track it down to logic board issues. We agreed that since he had the macbook pro already and since it was applecare covered, we should go ahead and replace the logic board. Anyways, he ordered a new logic board from apple last monday (May 5th, 2014). I called on Thursday for an update and the servicer was frustrated with Apple that something is going on and he hasnt received the part as Apple usually gets him these parts within 1-2 days of request. He said he will call me once Apple gets him the part as he will get on the repair once the part comes in.  He hasnt called me back yet.
This is rather frustrating for me as my macbook had all my college files on it and this problem happened right before college finals (i technically lost about 2 months worth of web design files and class files) where much of what needed for finals was on that computer. if he could have gotten it back by the 7th as he'd hoped, i would have been fine.  Instead, i was forced to go back to my PC laptop and try recreating some of the files that were made by mac only applications into something similar on windows. i was unable to recover the web design files as they were on the macbook and i couldnt remember right off which folder it was in. So i had to scrape together things to be able to submit for my finals so i wouldnt totally bomb the course. My web design instructor understood how frustrated I got from losing all that work and having to settle for a final design that just met the requirments rather than the one on the mac that was well past it.
He is not sure whats going on as the last time he ordered a logic board for the same model, he had it by the end of business the next day. He is apoligizing for everything . I am not frustrated with him, rather I am frustrated with Apple as they had recommended me to take it in ASAP, yet they are seemingly dragging thier feet on getting him the parts.
On top of this, I am helping a neighbor modernize her business website, and am doing a project with the state unemployement office to help them redo thier videos. Both of these are things i would always use my mac for as it is like 5x faster than my pc on this stuff. It's more than just an inconvience now. I need my mac badly as the PC is just not fast enough to do what i need in the itme i am given (which i why i switched to mac as my primary computer).
Is this common for Apple when it comes to logic board replacements for macbook pros or what?
Has anyone else had this issue?

Applecare was no help at all. I called and did the complaint. They confirmed that it is registered to me and everything but essetially told me that they cant give me answers as to what is taking so long. They knew a repair was in progress but wanted to set me up with an appointment at an apple store? (the nearest Apple retail store is Billings which is 240 miles away, or about 4 hours). i tell them its at the repair place and they go on to tell me they can send me a box to mail it in and have it reapir by them.. They are trying to shift the blame to the AASP and his rep. But he said he has been trying with very few answers from Apple as well

my ipod touch 4g 8 gigs is not turning on it wont get past the apple logo its not frozen because it turns the screen black and the apple logo please help me

    - Try a reset.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Then connect to your computer and try to restore.
    - See if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow a restore. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - If the logo still show all the time, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try the above again.

  • Help with import/drag one photo into iPod Classic 160

Hello - I could swear I've done this before --- I've got my iPod Classic 160 Gb synced to iTunes, and JUST want to drag one little photo onto my iPod (in the left column), but I get an alert & it won't let me do this. Can't you just add a photo by dragging it onto the iPod in the left column? I don't want to totally sync my iPod as I get a warning saying that if I sync for photos, it will replace ALL photos and music with what is in my iTunes library, and I don't have the entire contents of my iPod currently in my iTunes library. Can't I do a simple thing like add one photo? (It's a .jpg.) Thank you very much for any help.
    Nick

Thanks again for your suggestion about taking the charger back to the store. We tried it there and the charger itself worked fine (shocker!) so we tried with a different Apple charger and my iPod. And it finally worked! The guy at the store tried to explain to me WHY the charger hadn't worked with my iPod (something about ampere or something) but when I told him that it in fact worked with my old iPod from 2007 he had to agree that it was very strange.
Anyway, they didn't have in stock that new slick Apple charger (small and thin compared to the big squared one I got first) so I ended up buying a Belkin charger that works great. So all's well that ends well!

  • I cant create apple ID, its showing "this device is no longer eligible for creating a free icloud account

i cant create apple ID, its showing "this device is no longer eligible for creating a free icloud account

    Hello Kalpesh,
I had the same issue on my iPod touch 4th Gen, I noticed the issue after updating the device to 6.1.5. I dont know what device or IOS your running but if it is similar then I think this ma be the cause. My solution to you is to create a free apple ID on their website, https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/wa/createAppleId. Hope this helped and good luck!

  • I have the new ipod 5 and when i go to plug it in it wont charge ive used 4 different out lets and docks so its either the ipod its self or the cord

i just got the new ipod 5 for christmas for my daughter when she goes to plug it in to charge it,it wont charge we have used 3 differend outlets in the house so its not that...we have also used different docks bc i have an ipad so i just used that dock and it sill wont work so its either the ipod its self or the cord..i dont no but i just want to figure this out so if you can help me that would be greatly appericead.

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use. I suspect a cable
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Did apple give me the wrong Ipod?

Well, my mom was at the store today and was buying me a new Ipod Touch. She paid $500 for it, and it was the old Ipod Touch 32gb. It didn't have the sound control OR the speakers, plus it was $100 more than apple says the new 32gb Ipod Touch is being sold for.
Right now, my mind set is that I am gonna return the ipod I just got and get the new 32 gb with all the new stuff(since I didn't put anything on the ipod I have now anyways). Is that a good idea? I just want the new Ipod Touch, haha.
PS: I just realized this is in the wrong section... can someone move it, or will it just stay here?

Hi, we have three iPhones and iPods which are currently linked to one apple ID.  I have now set up an apple id for each phone/iPod.  How do I go about re-directing the two accounts to the relevant one that has now been set up please?  I could do with a step by step guide to follow as am worried about loosing aps, music, photo's etc which are on the individual phones.
    Thanks
    Mandi

On each of the phones you're gonna use a new Apple ID for iCloud: turn off Contacts, Calendars, etc. for iCloud. You'll be prompted to keep the data or delete it from the phone, then turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then, setup iCloud using the new Apple ID, turn on iMessage & Facetime.
This will have no affect on the ID you share for iTunes content, & you can continue to do so.

  • TS2446 If i create a new apple id account on my ipod, will i still have all my music, apps, books and other stuff on my ipod that i downloaded and bought with my old account or will i loose everything; will i be able to still do the updates to those apps?

If I create a new apple id account on my ipod, will I still have all my music, apps, books and other stuff on my ipod that I downloaded and bought with my old account or will I loose everything; will I be able to still do the updates to those apps?
    I really need help!

I don't think you understood what I wrote. You don't HAVE to pay for everything if you are happy with using the other account for updates, etc. But if you don't want to do that then you will have to buy new copies of everything for the new account. There's only one purchase item per account, but you can redownload an item in the account many times.
    The idea is this:
One computer, multiple devices, one Apple ID.
One user, multiple devices, one Apple ID.
The basic idea is that each user has an Apple ID under which he/she can manage multiple devices on a single computer.
Once you step outside of that model you create such problems as not being able to use or update apps purchase under one Apple ID when using a different Apple ID. Or not being able to easily sync one device on more than one computer.
