IS APPLE ON THIS OUTGOING MAIL ISSUE?

Is there anybody from this company in these forums? If so can you indicate that this is being worked on and when it will be fixed?
yay Leopard.

This is a user to user forum. You might want to contact Apple via their contact page. If you do so, you also might want to provide more details than you did here.

    If so, this is not needed. Use the MobileMe account preset and the incoming and outgoing mail servers will be set up automatically.

  • Outgoing Mail issues with snow leopard

    I know this has come up before, but randomly Mail cannot send outgoing email. Fails to connect to outgoing sever. I'm at 10.6.6, and don't want to update because of font/pdf issues with 10.6.7. I have mac pro 2.8 quad. A friend who has updated to 10.6.7 has same problem with Mail. Last computer using Tiger was perfect. I've tried all fixes, and issue still occurs randomly. Can't apple patch this without a major update? Does apple read discussions and act on them?

    Hi,
    Not sure what, "I've tried all fixes" includes so try here.

  • HT201320 Outgoing Mail Issue

    My iPhone 5s kept shutting off on its own so the Apple Store gave me a new one.  I cannot send outgoing mail because I have no idea what my original password is.  The outging server is smtp.mail.yahoo.com.  How can I resolve this issue so I can send outgoing mail?  Thanks,  KD

    The only way you can send mail on the iPhone is by having your password. If you need to change your password you need to do that through yahoo.

  • 10.5.3 Outgoing Mail Issue

    Greetings,
    I recently updated to 10.5.3. Right after this was done I began experiencing issues with sending and receiving email. The error returned is as follows:
    Cannot send message using the server X.
    Verify that you have addressed this message correctly. Check your SMTP server settings in Mail Preferences and verify any advanced settings with your system administrator.
    It's a POP account. I didn't change the name of the incoming mail server but I did change the name of the outgoing mail server by adding mail. to the front. I'm using Port 993 with SSL, with an Authenticated POP (ADOP) Authentication. I'm not as computer savvy as I'd like to be, so I'm sure I'm leaving out some details. Any and all assistance is much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Jeff

    You changed the outgoing server settings, or SMTP server settings based on what? In an attempt to fix the sending problem on your own, or based on an SMTP server settings change by the email account provider for this account?

  • UTORmail Outgoing Mail Issues

    I have been having an issue where outgoing mail does not send.  Each time I try to send mail, I recieve the error message, "Email Application Alert: Error sending "..." ".  I contacted the utoronto tech staff and they are also confused as to why the setup is not working correctly.  As there is no specific Palm Pre setup on their website I went by the Iphone settings, which should work correctly:
    Setting up your UTORmail account
    Tap Settings on the home screen:
    Scroll down and tap Mail:
    Tap Add Account:
    Select Other (last option):
    Tap IMAP:
    Fill out the information fields as follows:
         * Address: Your @utoronto.ca email address
    Incoming Mail Server
    Host Name: mailboxN.utcc.utoronto.ca (where N is replaced with your UTORmail configuration number)
    User Name: your UTORid
    Password: Your Password
    Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
    Host Name: smtp.utoronto.ca
    User Name: Your UTORid
       1. Scroll down and tap Advanced.
       2. The following screen will appear
    Incoming Settings
    Use SSL: ON.
    Authentication: Password.
    Server Port 993
    Outgoing Settings
    Use SSL: ON.
    Authentication: Password.
    Server Port 587
    Any information on how to fix this would be appreciated.

    Normally, if you send out using SSL, you use port 465, and if you send out without SSL, you use port 587. Can you try port 465?
    == Edit ==
    I found the University's instructions for various mail clients. The pattern seems to be SSL ==> 465, TLS ==> 587. If the Pre supports TLS, try switching the encryption method from SSL to TLS and using port 587. Any luck?

  • Outgoing mail issue with my domain

    All right I'll lay it all out in as much detail as I can...thanks in advance for any insight you can give me.
    OS: Tiger 10.4.7 (latest security updates)
    Mail ver: 2.1
    I have three e-mail accounts: gmail, dot mac and my own domain.
    As of right now, I can send outgoing mail through my gmail and dot mac accounts. My domain mail is dead when trying to send through Mac Mail.
    Gmail settings:
    SMTP: smtp.gmail.com
    Port: 587
    SSL: On
    Auth: Password
    Username: (myaddress)@gmail.com
    Password: (mypass)
    Dot Mac settings:
    SMTP: smtp.mac.com
    Port: 25
    SSL: On
    Auth: Password
    Username: (my username)
    Password: (mypass)
    Domain settings:
    SMTP: mail.(mydomainname).com
    Port: Tried 25, 587, 110
    SSL: tried both on and off
    Auth: tried none and password
    Username: Tried just my username and tried full with @(domainname).com
    Password: tried Webmail pass and control panel pass
    Again, I have no problems sending with the other two accounts. But I get "could not send message using server mail.(domainname).com" error message. This after the spinning wheel for about 30 seconds.
    Now, both the incoming and outgoing server are mail.(domainname).com. I can receive messages through the account just fine. And I can send mail through my Webmail setup at my domain name, too.
    I contacted my host (iPowerweb) and they set up a test account and said they are not seeing smtp issues, either.
    I recently switched hosts and I was having the same issue with the previous host, too. In fact, I used to be able to send e-mail through my previous host with the same domain, but it just quit working one day.
    I do not believe it is a port issue as I am able to send on both 25 and 587.
    Previously I just accepted that I wouldn't be able to use Mac Mail to send through my domain. But I am unwilling to accept that fact anymore...
    Any ideas folks?
    Again, thanks...

    Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
    Typically, Port 587 would require at least Password Authentication -- using None as Authentication would not be expected to succeed. If None is the correct setting, then Port 25 would be the necessary Port.
    The fact that accounts in the same domain work, is not definitive, in my opinion, since it might be permitted without Authentication, whereas other sending activities might not.
    Without regard to blocking, sending with a third party SMTP involves establishing "trust", and trust is either established by Authentication, or by being identified by the venue where your ISP can ensure you are trustworthy, and this typically must require the use of Port 25.
    The change might be that as a Spam fighting measure, your ISP has only just now required authentication on Port 587, although I think this has already been nearly universal.

  • Outgoing mail issue in SCOT

    Hi All,
    When we have an outgoing mail generated either by a program or the SAP Business Workplace the mails sit in the Waiting stage. They do not show up in SOST as well. And they are all sent together probably in the night as we can see the mails in our Inboxes! I am not sure why this is happening? We cannot blame the send jobs as the mails are being sent... Also the send jobs are configured and the SMTP server is configured. The mails are sent but not as soon as they are generated.
    Any pointers to this problem will be greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Sudhi

    Sudhi,
    Check the sent mail job frequency ? It might be running only once .. idle would be running this job every 15 mins or so
    Thanks

  • Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-0.15 outgoing mail issue

    Hi,
    We are running Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-0.15 (built Feb  9 2007).
    with this java code if i change  email.setFrom(SenderEmial);   to any other email address than the mail server will send email form that email instead of authenticated which is a problem for us so that any one can misuse it. i need help regarding this issue.I think its due to lack of SSL security so i want to know that how i can enable SSL.
      Email email = new SimpleEmail();
        email.setSmtpPort(25);
        email.setAuthenticator(new DefaultAuthenticator("[email protected]","myPass"));
        email.setDebug(false);
        email.setHostName("mail.sunjavamail.com");
        email.setFrom(SenderEmial);  //By changing this my mail server is sending emails from any email address.
        email.setSubject("Hi");
        email.setMsg("Test Mail");
        email.addTo("[email protected]");
          // email.setTLS(true);
       // email.setSSL(true);
        email.send();
        System.out.println("Done");
    Thanks..

    Hi,
    I do not think this is unusual.  Out of the box there are no restrictions on From: addresses, they're not required to match the domain of the sender or match up with DNS results.  You can configure various restrictions or even modify the from address based on the users authenticated credentials, but not by default.
    See the following documentation for details on restricting From: addresses:

  • Weird outgoing mail issues after snow leopard upgrade

    After upgrading to snow leopard a couple of weeks ago (then immediately to 10.6.5), I have been having trouble sending mail from my work machine on one account. After reading these forums and trying several solutions (listed below), the thing which seemed to work for me was deleting the outgoing mail server entry in the preferences pane and re-entering the information. However, this solution does not always work for me, and is only temporary; after some amount of time (variable? on the order of minutes?) the problem recurs.
    If I open connection doctor the server in question displays a "Connecting to server..." message for a long time (minutes) and then "Could not connect to this SMTP server. Check your network connection and that you...". I get this behavior even just after resetting the smtp server, while I am successfully sending test emails.
    As with others here, the same account works fine on other machines.
    Things I have tried, on my own or based on advice read in the forums:
    1) specifying the port for the server in advanced settings
    2) Deleting and re-adding both the smtp server and the imap account
    3) Setting mobileme to manual sync
    4) "cd /var/log;touch mail.log;sudo chown root:admin mail.log; sudo chgrp 644 mail.log" (which doesn't produce any logs for me).
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I for got to add
    5) repair permissions in disk utility
    6) reboot

  • Outgoing mail issues with Mail 3.5 and Mobile Me

    I have had a lot of problem lately with not being able to connect to the outgoing server on my Mobile Me account. I have tried the connection doctor which shows everything is ok but when I try and send it says it was unable to connect and to try again later or to choose another server from the list.
    This doesn't happen all the time but it is pretty frequent. I have the ports set to the default ports (25, 465, 587). Does anyone have any suggestions that might make sending email more reliable?

    I wanted to follow up with my solution. After much troubleshooting I determined that packaging from the command line requires a different syntax after AIR 3.5.
    I was using this (note the direct call to the ADT binary)
    "/SDK/AdobeAIRSDK35/bin/adt" -package -target ipa-ad-hoc -provisioning-profile "./WORK/Apple/test_app.mobileprovision" -storepass my_secret_pass -storetype pkcs12 -keystore "./mycert.p12" ./test_app.ipa ./test-app.xml platformsdk"/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platfo rm/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS6.0.sdk"
    I found that this approach results in a fast running AIR app (note the alternative approach calling Java)
    /usr/bin/java -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -jar "/SDK/FlexSDK4_6_With_Air3_6/lib/adt.jar" -package -target ipa-ad-hoc -provisioning-profile "./WORK/Apple/test_app.mobileprovision" -storepass my_secret_pass -storetype pkcs12 -keystore "./mycert.p12" ./test_app.ipa ./test-app.xml platformsdk"/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platfo rm/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS6.0.sdk"
    I wish I could explain why this worked ... but it does.

  • Mail outgoing email issues

    Yosemite outgoing Mail issues have been all over Internet since last Fall.  I still have not seen Apple address the issue!  Some suggestions from OS X Daily, etc. involve pref changes.  However, I find that the pref changes disappear after they are made.  I realize they must be selected to "save" but that option does not always present itself.  Outgoing mail going as "reply" or forward" hangs up and creates an "outbox" which continues to try to send but has no success.  This emails appear to be corrupted once they go there and must be trashed.
    The only way I can get a "reply" or "forward" message out is to add a pdf doc at the end of the text in which I simply type "Intentionally Left Blank" so the receiver will not wonder why it is there.  From now on, I think I will add "Page will remain blank until Apple wakes up and fixes this essential Mail app"!  Perhaps we could add a live "clock" (like the national debt clock) that could continue to show the hours, days, weeks and months in which Apple failed to respond.
    Can any Mac users help?

    Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore is not, in itself, a solution.
    First, empty the Trash, if possible.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 \) 2>&- | wc -l | pbcopy
    Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run.
    Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear.
    The output of the command will be a number. It's automatically copied to the Clipboard. Please paste it into a reply.
    The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

  • Apple Mail Issues After 10.10.2 Security Update

    I've had outgoing mail issues in Apple Mail in Yosemite on my macbook pro consistently since the Yosemite update. I've tried multiple recommended fixes including deleting and resetting all accounts with the latest instruction from bluehost. Over the last several months, some "fixes" had seemed to work for a while, and then the problem would resurface. The "on the fly" fix is always to quit mail, cycle my wifi off and on, and then reopen mail, at which point, the hung-up emails all send and things work fine for some period of hours until the problem comes back.
    Interestingly, the problem seemed to finally disappear on its own a couple of months ago! No problems for that period of time! UNTIL I updated my macbook pro with the latest Yosemite security update a couple of days ago. Now the problem is back with a vengeance!
    Any help would be appreciated!

    I have tried to quit mail and turn wifi on and off with no results whatsoever. This is really frustrating, I can't work!

  • Yahoo outgoing mail server not working.

    My yahoo outgoing server not working on iPod touch or iPad it says apple.smtp.yahoo failed...incoming is ok so far...this outgoing mail failure just started about a couple of days back....anyone else having this problem?????what should I do?rediffmail account does not get set up either so just unable to use any of my emails. :(

    Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
    I get 100% success pinging mail.adelphia.net, and if at your home venue where Adelphia is your ISP, then I think no separate Authentication is required. Port 25 would be the proper port. However, if you are not at home, and the provider of internet connection limits you to using only authenticated SMTP then you would not able to use mail.adelphia.net as the Outgoing Server.
    Are you at the venue where Adelphia is the ISP?

  • Why Wont Apple Fix AUDIO / VIDEO Sync Issues

    This has been a problem for awhile. Thank god there is a application fix but im receiving an iTouch very soon and I'm not sure if the same problem is going to be on that to..
    It might be how Quicktime reads .MP4 and .M4V Files but i can play the videos on VLC and Zune Software fine..
    I see other people posting this exact same problems. I see no answers... Apple Knows this is an issue. Why wont they fix it.
    From what im hearing it is the audio that is going out of sync from the video.
    Now my Final Question is
    "Is this just a Software issue for the computers or is it also a Software issue (Assuming that quicktime is the software on these devices) for the iTouch / iPhone ?

    well i got my itouch today and it seems that the audio and video sync issues are only on the computer distributions of quicktime and not the hand held device versions
