Is Apple's education pricing/discount available at an Apple shop ?

There are no apple stores where I live but there is an apple shop (pc world, UK) nearby. Would i be able to buy a macbook and get the 15% discount along with the 70 GBP card ?

No, you have to buy online. See this thread:

  • The Education Pricing Discount won't show up in The Apple cart in the online store

I am trying to get a MacBook Pro online, but the student Education discount pricing isn't showing up in the cart. I used the education store.

Check that you have correctly followed the instructions for your model of Apple TV.
If not already, try using a powered USB port.
Repeat the process but this time try connecting the cable while iTunes is closed.
Repeat the process with another cable.

  • Eligible for education pricing?

    Hi,
I'm a gonna be a senior in high school but I was wondering if I qualify for the education discount for buying a macbook pro. I work every summer at a private school that runs a enrichment camp and am called faculty there because I manage the tech department and assist for teachers of classes. I am on payroll there. Does this make me eligible for student/teacher discount? The more money I can save the better so I am hoping I am.
It is so annoying that they don't give us high schoolers any love. We are like one of their biggest consumer bases, at least where I'm from. Everyone in high school has a mac here. They should give us some incentive to return by offering discounts and promotions for our age group.
(ps the camp is for middle schoolers so the age group is right)

  • Education Pricing for Canada Resident

The website keeps giving me the run around when trying to search for my University. It redirects me to the US site. Is the Education Pricing not available for Canadian Users?

Just in case you haven't found it already, as you probably have, or for anyone else with the same question.

  • Is education pricing available outside of the US?

    Dear forum,
I'm looking to purchase a new macbook air, and as a full time graduate student at a US university, I would like to take advantage of education pricing. I am however currently abroad in Japan doing fieldwork, and would purchase the computer in Japan. My question is, does the education discount offered in the US and Europe still apply? If so, can I purchase a new macbook air here in Japan and obtain the discount, or would I have to order the laptop in the US and pay for the extra shipping to Japan?
    Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
NB: I have not been able to find any hint of educational discounts on the Japanese apple page at all, but presume that since it's a global corporation and they offer the discounts in Europe as well, Japan should also offer the discounts.

It is available to any registered student in any approved college or university world-wide. If you purchase in Japan your warranty will not be recognized in the US. You may not be able to find a computer with US keyboard.
If you visit the US online store you can then link to the education site. At the bottom of the page on the right you will find the US flag in a circle. Click on it to switch to another country. Once in the Japanese store look for the equivalent education page. Or simply go to the college or university in Japan where you are a student. They should be able to help you.
Aside from the warranty concern you will likely be charged a duty for bringing it into the US. Frankly, I think you are better off getting the computer in the US. And, you won't have to worry about whether the computer you get is legitimately an Apple computer and not a knock-off.

  • Bought my iMac through Apple Education Pricing. Does this mean the warranty has been extended from the original one year to three years?

Bought my iMac through Apple Education Pricing. Does this mean the warranty has been extended from the original one year to three years?

No. If you want an extended warranty you still must purchase it. It is not included with education pricing.

  • Is purchasing online the only way to get the education pricing?

I need to get a laptop, software and other accessories, but I'm not exactly sure which laptop would be the best fit without going to my local apple store first.  Is it possible to take advantage of the education pricing at my local apple store or is it only offered online?

You can get educational pricing for Macs at any Apple Store. You'll need to bring proof of eligibility; a student ID, acceptance letter, faculty/staff ID or other proof of employment, etc. Educational pricing on software and accessories (where academic discounts are offered) are, unless things have changed recently, only available online.

  • Is there education pricing for refurbished MacBooks?

Is there education pricing available on refurbished MacBooks?

No need to call and or contact Apple. Just go to the Refurb website page and if there is no educational discount link then they don't offer it on the refurbs.
Qualifying an answer with 'I don't think so' certainly is not definitive.  Also your logic is not complete or comprehensive.
That refurbished units are not included in the education section may suggest that they are ineligible but does not necessarily exclude them.  It simply may be an omission which is not that unusual in business.  Unless there is a direct statement excluding them, or a statement that ONLY these items are eligible for the discount, it remains an open issue.   Receiving an affirmative answer from Apple does settle this by removing such doubts.
    Ciao.

  • Education pricing for tutors?

    Hi,
I am a full time tutor. I would like to purchase a MacbookPro and would like to know if I can qualify for the education pricing available on the online store? Thank you.

To qualify for that you usually need to be a student, staff, or faculty member of some accredited educational institution and have a .edu address.
If you have those things, then you should be set, otherwise you'll have to actually call Apple. These forums are generally user to user. That way Apple can take all the credit and disavow all the bad.

  • Education pricing for mac pro

Does anyone know if I can recieve education pricing for a new mac pro?

The education discount is extended to whatever specific products Apple chooses. I'm not sure how you are looking, but I see Mac Pros on the Education listings for my local university.
If your school is not approved that could be the reason why. I can only tell you what I know for here in the US.

  • Education Pricing on iPad

    Hi,
I was looking for education pricing on the iPad and was surprised not to find any. Given how the iPad is being targetted towards students, it definitely makes sense to tap into that market by offering a discount. Hoping the powers that be will take notice and make appropriate changes!!
Does anyone know of a reason Apple does not offer the discount on iPads?
    Thanks,

Even for those state contracts, every one I've seen offer no discounts on single quantities on iOS devices or other iPods, though I can't say I've seen every contract so it's not impossible that there's an exception somewhere. Students cannot purchase on those contracts, though, at least not that I ever encountered.
    Regards.

  • Ok so am in 9th grade and for christmas i can get a macbook pro i was wondering if i can get the education pricing and am in public school i read it and it says k - 12 school

    please respond

    It doesn't appear so. :-(
If either of your parents works for a school, or you have a sibling in college or accepted to college, they would qualify for the discount:
Apple offers special education pricing on Apple computers, software and select third party products to college students, parents buying for a college student, or teachers, homeschool teachers, administrators and staff of all grade levels. Students who have been accepted to college are also eligible.
K12 - Any employee of a public or private K-12 institution in the United States is eligible, including homeschool teachers. In addition, school board members who are currently serving as elected or appointed members are eligible. PTA or PTO executives currently serving as elected or appointed officers are eligible.

  • Hi! I'm currently in Singapore & my sister's in the Philippines, I'm planning to buy a Mac for her thru education pricing, do you think they'll allow me eventhough she's studying in the PH?

    Please help me (:
by the way, she'll be coming over here next week, is it enough if I just show them her ID in the Philippines?
    thanks (:

If you’ve been accepted to college, are a college student, or are the parent of a college student, you can take advantage of special pricing on Mac computers and certain software and accessories. College and K-12 faculty, staff, and professors can also use Apple education pricing.
You might want to go apple/students/how to buy and get some more info than what I've given. I tried getting the discount because I have two kids who use the computer for school and I couldn't get it. I would think if she has some sort of proof that shes been accepted to a college or in college you could just take her with you and pick up the bill when she's done shopping for her computer.

  • I bought my Mac with education pricing a week ago and missed the $100 Mac App Store promo

Long story short, I bought my first Mac a week ago with Education Pricing, mainly because Apple marked their education site with a banner reading "Last Call for Apple Education Pricing." Lo and behold, I received an email from Apple this morning about a new promotion for those buying with Education Pricing getting a $100 credit to the Mac App Store if they buy between June 16, 2011 and September 20, 2011. Is there any way I can receive the $100 credit even though I bought a few days before the promotion started? I would have waited longer to buy if I hadn't seen the "Last Call" banner on the Education Pricing page.

You can get a $100 education discount no matter when you buy it.  The email seemed to be just informaing you about the offer.  You can take your receipt into the Apple Store and they should be able to deduct the discount from your purchase.  If they are "rude" about it, then return your laptop and repurchase it with the discount.
