Is Changing Domain of a field in table affect datas in that table ?
hi all ,
I have a requirement to change the domain of a field in table , new domain will be having the same length and same data type ... if if i change the domain ,is there any change in datas saved in the table in this field ? .....
As far as Data Type and length are same there wont be any issue.
Issue comes when the new data length is shorter than the older one. In that case data gets truncated and in some cases completely lost.
Hope it clarifies your doubts about this.

Updated a field in table fkkvkp
Hi Guys
I am trying to make changes to the address field in table fkkvkp. My program works in development but does not work in QA.
Can any one explain why this is happenning.The internal table is populated correctly.Please see code below.
SORT gt_itab BY vkont.
LOOP AT gt_itab.
CLEAR: gt_contractaccountdata,
gt_contractaccountdatax.
UNPACK gt_itab-adrnb TO gt_contractaccountdata-addr_no.
APPEND gt_contractaccountdata.
gt_contractaccountdatax-addr_no = 'X'.
APPEND gt_contractaccountdatax.
READ TABLE gt_contractaccountdata INDEX 1.
READ TABLE gt_contractaccountdatax INDEX 1.
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_ISUACCOUNT_CHANGE'
EXPORTING
contractaccount = gt_itab-vkont
partner = gt_itab-gpart
contractaccountdata = gt_contractaccountdata
contractaccountdatax = gt_contractaccountdatax.
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT'.
REFRESH: gt_contractaccountdata,
gt_contractaccountdatax.
ENDLOOP.Hi,
Have you compared versions between the one in development and in QA.
Also, Check if there are missing transports and the transports imported successfully.
Also, Try using wait parameter in the transaction commit. Normally, because of volume of data, it may take some time to get updated in the database.
Title you have provided is not correct
Hope it helps.

Edited by: draconagi on Mar 9, 2011 3:14 PMHello Lalitha,
Guess FM DYNP VALUES READ can help you. You can append all screen elements' name onto the table DYNPFIELDS. When you use this FM, it will give new values of all the fields.
Note: This FM Read screen field values before PAI field transport.

Missing Date fields in table maintenance generation
I have some non-key date fields in my custom table and have noticed that they do not get generated on the overview screen of my two-step table maintenance dialog. They are present on the detail screen.
If I change the domain of the fields to CHAR they appear.
If I change the maintenance type to one-step they appear.
It seems it is standard behaviour for date fields to be omitted from the overview screen.
Can anyone confirm that this is standard behaviour or give an explanation for date fields being treated in this manner?...or come up with a way of including the fields on the header screen.
I already know that I can:
1. customize the screen to include the fields
2. create a non-date domain for the fields which uses date-type calendar dropdown
Thanks,
NeilThankyou Jonathan, I would have been too lazy to go into debug if I didn't have the form name you supplied! It wasn't the reason you suspected but it was failing the following check in that routine:
maintenance in list screen required?
CHECK p_tvdir-type = one_step_maint OR
( <w_dfies>-keyflag NE space "force only keyfields
OR ( 'CHARNUMC' CS <w_dfies>-datatype "and view char-fields
AND p_skip_fields = space )
OR ( 'CHARNUMC' CS <w_dfies>-datatype "and view char-fields
AND <w_dfies>-intlen GE 20 ) "int 3263961/2000
OR <w_dfies>-rollname = 'BEGDA' "time dependence
OR <w_dfies>-rollname = 'ENDDA' "time dependence
OR <w_dfies>-tabname NE p_gencb-viewname ). "or text table field
Because the datatype was DATS.......looks like it will only include key fields and CHAR, NUMC non-key fields or those with a rollname of BEGDA/ENDDA or texttable fields. In debug I changed the datatype to CHAR and it generated with my field included. I think there might be an OSS note to fix this but haven't found it yet. -
Updating custom field in table EKKO within user exit when PO is saved
I am trying to update a custom field in table EKKO when a PO is saved. I am using FM EXIT_SAPMM06E_013, within enhancement MM06E005. Since EKKO is not a table that can be updated with this user exit, I am using a technic that I read about on SDN where I assign a field symbol to the calling program variable and then am able to access data within EKKO table. But when I pass this data back into the field symbol, for some reason this field is not getting saved when the PO is saved. In debug mode, it looks like this field is getting updated, but when I look in the table after the PO is saved, it is not there. My code sample is below. What I am doing wrong?
data:
CHAR(50) VALUE '(SAPLMEPO)EKKO-ZHDRCSTCENTER',
g_zhdrcstcenter like ekko-zhdrcstcenter,
FIELD-SYMBOLS <F1> type any.
if i_ekko-ekorg = '5401'.
ASSIGN (char) to <F1>.
g_zhdrcstcenter = <F1>.
move '0000113322' to g_zhdrcstcenter.
<F1> = g_zhdrcstcenter.
endif.
Thanks!
Sarah Smyth.Firstly, have you investigated using EXIT_SAPMM06E_008 to set any custom fields you have added in the EKKO_CI / CI_EKKODB structure?.. that might work more easily.
In terms of doing an assign back into a calling program's memory, it can work but it's probably worth setting a break point in your code then stepping through watching the values in EKKO - sometimes you can find subsequent code that re-writes an earlier copy of values back into the structure, thereby preventing you doing your change... SAP does warn this method is for "internal use". Also check in your debugger that it's SAPLMEPO and not SAPMM06E you need. -
To find out the Table of Origin and Field in Table of Origin.
Hi Experts,
I am in the middle of completing someone else's documentation after a handover.
Here are th columns that I need to update in the documentation:
1) Field in Extraction Structure 2) Description of Field in the Extraction Structure 3) Table of Origin 4) Field in Table of Origin
Most of them are already done. There are only four tables from which all these fields originate.
Could you let me know how should I find out where a field has originated from.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Chandu.Hi,
it will depend on the datasource: you'll to do the hereunder in the source system
- if LO/LIS (2LIS....) you can goto LBWE, extract structure maintenance; in the filed selection screen you'll see e.g. "MCtttt ffffff text"; usually the tttt is the table and ffffff is the field. Cross check if the field is really in the table via SE11.
- if generic, then goto RSO2 and then it will depend if it is a view/table/domain; double click on it or goto SE11; if infoset SQ01; if extract structure then you'll have to analyze the function module extractor ABAP code;
- for others it will depend....
hope this helps...

How to display the change history of Z-fields in transaction BP?
Hi,
we have created an append structure to table ADRC. For all fields of the structure the flag "Change document" in the data element is set. This is still working because the changes are in the table CDPOS.
But when I choose "Extras => Change history => For this field" in transaction BP the changes will not be displayed.
Any hints?
Thanks in advance
F.T.Hi Jaya,
Just do as follows :-
1) Find out in which table are those fields.
2) Then if you find them go to the table, look for the field you want the log to be created for.
3) Double click on its DATA element. On the DEFINITION tab of the data element, there is a checkbox named as CHANG
DOCUMENT. Just TICK it.
4) So every time there a change on this field from the transaction, you can look for the log in table CDHDR.

Dynamic Creation of cells or change of cell behaviour of a table at runtime
Hello all,
Can anybody tell me how can we change the cell behaviour of a table at runtime or creating the table row with different cell properties dynamically at runtime in ABAP webdynpro.
for ex the table at runtime can be like...
The 1st row the 1st cell can be a check box.
The 2nd row the 1st cell can be a input field.
The 3rd row the 1st cell can be a radio selection field.
Business Ex : Dynamic Attributes in BID Invitation
Thanks in advance in clarifying the doubt.Hi Mani,
You could use code similar to the following code in your WDDOMODIFY method of the view in which the table is placed.
data wd_table_cell_editor type ref to cl_Wd_view_element.
data wd_table_column type ref to cl_wd_table_column.
wd_table_cell_editor ?= view->get_element( ID ). (Or any other way to get the refernce to the table cell editor)
wd_table_column ?= wd_table_cell_editor->get__parent( ).
(Get a refernce to table column throught table cell editor or directly)
Now use the set_cell_editor method of wd_table_column to set the column to check box or input or any other field of your requirement.
Also, I suggest you to use ALV as it is simpler change the cell editor and it provides many other improved functionalities.

Add Fields from table ADRC (Fields Name 1 to 4) for Open Item Processing
Hi SAP Expert:
Our client requires vendor/customer name to be displayed in the open item processing line layout for transaction code f-58, so they can double check if the vendor name is complete as intended.
We intend to add fields from table ADRC instead of REGUH since the characters in maintaining vendor/customer name is 40 characters and REGUH - ZNME1s are only 35 characters.
We have managed to add fields from ADRC and change the SAPDF05X program and were able to display the names in open item layout, except that the program seems to "automatically" create a generic table which only carries 30 characters of the vendor/customer name. The source table should be RFOPS_DK but the program automatically looks up from table RFOPS_GEN for the particular fields - Name 1 to 4. Is there a way to "instruct" the program to use RFOPS_DK instead of RFOPS_GEN?
Hope this will merit somebody's attention... Thanks !!!Thanks, i have assigned the layout via o7v3, it is the program that i have a problem with, actually another program that we change is the program MF05BFPO where it generates data to be displayed in the FBZ4 screen, though we add a field with 40 characters (ADRC Name 1 to 4) what the program dispalys is a 30 character Name1 to 4 from structure RFOPS_GEN.
My question is can i extend/change the structure RFOP_GEN to 40 characters, is there any SAP standard program that will aftected if i do so? thank very much...

Is it possible in BAPI to ignore a reqd field in table while uploading data
Dear SAP Guru's,
A GL account had "allow posting without tax code" unchecked, which meant that tax code had to be specified in order to post balances/data in that GL account.
But during cutover, while uploading balances using BAPI, the conversion team was able to load the balances into the GL account without specifing tax codes to such GL accounts.
Is there such a posibility in BAPI to change the code to ignore a required field during data load??If so what is it?No, sorry, I mean I copied the data vector (model.getDataVector()) to an other vector, not the model. And the problem is that the serialized data did not reflect the changes if I just change vecor values, so this is why I reinstantiated the full model. I think this is rather a java io issue, not a swing issue, it seems any object I serialize will not be refreshed if I just change some attributes in it and not the full variable. Can this be true?
On the othe hand
table.setAutoCreateColumnsFromModel( false );
quite simplified my framework, which is great!
The old framework looked like this:
public BaseTblModel resetModel() {
removeListeners(tm);
removeListeners(tb);
tm = new TrackTblModel();
tb.setModel(tm)
reinstallEditors(tb)
addListeners(tm);
addListeners(tb);
return tm;
Now with table.setAutoCreateColumnsFromModel( false ); it looks like as simple as:
public BaseTblModel resetModel() {
tm = new TrackTblModel();
tb.setModel(tm)
return tm;
So it would be better If I could leave out this step as well, because I do it just because of the mentioned serialization problems. -
Change log for Z field while doing a direct update
Hi ,
I have a Z field added to the EKKO table and the change log is activated . Any change to the Z field from the transaction ME52N is updated in the CDHDR , CDPOS tables .
The issue I have is now i have a requirement to update this Z field through a program . I could update this field but the change doesnt get into the change log . But the change done from the program appears in the front end screen i.e ME53N.
Please help me on this.
Regards,
Hari.Hi Hari hara Kumar,
As far as my thinking, there is only one solution for this, do a recording/BDC(I know that Enjoy transaction BDCs are not successfull but as you have only 1 field to update,you can have a try) to update the Customer fields or Using the BAPI you can update the same to get change records, but it will be a long procedure to add Z field in the BAPI structures and then do that required coding, better is to have a try a with the BDC. I will never ever do a direct DB table update using a Z program for Standard tables.
Thanks & Regards,
Faheem.
