Is email address significant as an identifier

I downloaded and set-up Digital Editions under one email address and bought a ebook, that I cannot seem to access, under a different email address. Do the email addresses need to be the same?
AND, if so -
How do I change the email in the authorization for my computer?

Yes, the books you purchase are tied to your AdobeID.  You can erase the activation in ADE by hitting Ctrl-Shift-D (Cmd-Shift-D Mac).  This just erases the activation information and does not give you an activation back.

  • How can I change the email address of my Apple identifyer?

    I changed email provider*, it affects my apple identifier .  When I buy something it used to send me emails to that old address.  How can I change the email of my identifyer?
    Today i bought something and it said it was the first time I used my machine to buy something and asked for my security questions, but I always bought with my ipad, this is not a new machine.
    * I cancelled my account with Videotron so there is no way I can use the videotron email address anymore ( it was used for my identifyer email address)

    The only email address I see is the name of my apple identifyer.  If I change it to the new address, won't I have 2 identifyer now?  How about everything I have bought on the old email identifyer?
    I think I am misunderstandiing something here...

  • Email address as a User in ADF application (part 2)

    It is fairly normal these days to sign into into public-facing applications using an email address and password. However, people change email address periodically so you really want some sort of long-lived "users" entity of which the email address is an attribute that can be updated over time.
    Of course we code all the work manually and log in against a database table (with an alternate/unique key of user ID), but really we should try to use the tools already provided and do this in a JEE standard way. Then if you have some sort of unique user ID as the principal then you get the benefit, for example, of using automatically populated audit columns in ADF BC.
    This [recent discussion|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=3440934] talked about a similar requirement but in that instance the poster was happy to have the email address as the unique identifier.
    I think there are two ways to go about this:
    1) you have a unique ID as principal but the login module has to do a lookup from email address to ID before the authentication call can be made (e.g. out to LDAP)
    2) you have the email address as the principal (there may be problems with the length/characters for some backend authentication providers) and then an additional attribute for the unique ID (which is subsequently used for auditing)
    My initial feeling is that the first method ought to be the best compromise, but am I missing anything that is available "out of the box" as I think this requirement will become increasingly common?
    -Simon

    Hi Simon,
    You can always add additional principals to the Subject during login,but keep the primay principal as the first one in the set.
    If you write your own login module, you can fetch the user-id from the database/directory server based on
    the email and add it to the Subject as the primary principal and then add the email as subsequent pruncipal; i.e.
    if the System requires ID(PK) as the primary principal, then add ID as the Subject's first Principal and later add the email,and vice versa.
    You can use both at any moment in the execution cycle; howewver, when you call
      ejbContext.getCallerPrincipal() or ServletRequest.getCallerPrincipal()   you would only get the primary principal.
    To retrieve all the principals a subject is carrying, you need to try
        Set<Principal> principals= Subject.getSubject(AccessController.getContext()).getPrincipals();    and then iterate over the set to find the appropriate principal that you want.
    Writing LoginModule is not so difficult as some put it; some time back Frank Nimphius has written a how-to article on this topic
    which you can easily find by little googling.
    I hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Samba

  • Identifying Tables - Employee number field and email address field

    We need to identify specific tables for data extraction purposes.
    The tables we need are - "employee number" tables (used in SU01) and "email address" field - (techinical info. field name - SMTP_ADDR)
    Thanks.
    Marie

    If you are looking for email addresses tied to user master records, then the table is ADR6,  you must link to this thru USR21.
    * Get email address
      clear smtp_address.
      select single adr6~smtp_addr into smtp_address
                    from usr21
                       inner join adr6
                            on  usr21~addrnumber = adr6~addrnumber
                           and  usr21~persnumber = adr6~persnumber
                                   where usr21~bname = sy-uname.
    Not sure that I've ever seen an employee number tied directly to a user in SU01.

  • Bursting and DeliveryManager - How to identify wrong email address

    Hi,
    I have created a BI report (based on Data Template)
    Report generates the XML and then in the afterReport trigger, I am calling Bursting Program to send emails to the customers.
    Everything works fine.
    Problem is:
    If, there is any wrong email address, then we are NOT receiving any notification and undeliverable message.
    This happens for Bursting Request (program).
    I have also written a sample Java Code using "DeliveryManager" XDO class, to check whether it thorws the exception in case of wrong email ID or incorrect domain.
    But it also completes successfully and without any error. (no email .... obviuosly)
    import oracle.apps.xdo.delivery.*;
    public class EmailTest
    public static void main(String args[])
    try{
    DeliveryManager dm = new DeliveryManager();
    DeliveryRequest req = dm.createRequest(DeliveryManager.TYPE_SMTP_EMAIL);
    req.addProperty(DeliveryPropertyDefinitions.SMTP_SUBJECT, "test mail");
    req.addProperty(DeliveryPropertyDefinitions.SMTP_HOST, "appsrelay.xxx.com");
    req.addProperty(DeliveryPropertyDefinitions.SMTP_FROM, "[email protected]");
    req.addProperty(DeliveryPropertyDefinitions.SMTP_TO_RECIPIENTS, "[email protected]"); //WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS HERE
    req.addProperty(DeliveryPropertyDefinitions.SMTP_CONTENT_TYPE, "application/pdf");
    req.addProperty(DeliveryPropertyDefinitions.SMTP_CONTENT_FILENAME,"test.pdf");
    req.setDocument("/home/appldev2/WYSEINVPRINTN2_17402678_1.PDF");
    req.submit();
    req.close();
    catch(Exception e)
    System.out.println("Exception at: "+e);
    Then, I tried writing a send mail program using JAVAX EMAIL APIS.
    import java.util.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.mail.*;
    import javax.mail.internet.*;
    import javax.activation.*;
    public class EmailTest2
    public static void main(String args[])
    String to = "[email protected]"; //WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS HERE
    String cc = "[email protected]";
    String bcc = "[email protected]";
    String from = "[email protected]";
    // SUBSTITUTE YOUR ISP'S MAIL SERVER HERE!!!
    String host = "appsrelay.xxx.com";
    String Subject="";
    Properties props = new Properties();
    // Get a session
    Session session = Session.getInstance(props);
    try{
    Transport bus = session.getTransport("smtp");
    bus.connect();
    Message msg = new MimeMessage(session);
    Address fromAddress = new InternetAddress(from);
    msg.setFrom(fromAddress);
    Address[] toAddresses = InternetAddress.parse(to);
    msg.setRecipients
    (Message.RecipientType.TO,toAddresses);
    Address[] ccAddresses = InternetAddress.parse(cc);
    msg.setRecipients
    (Message.RecipientType.CC,ccAddresses);
    Address[] bccAddresses = InternetAddress.parse(bcc);
    msg.setRecipients
    (Message.RecipientType.BCC,bccAddresses);
    Subject = "test emails";
    msg.setSubject(Subject);
    msg.setSentDate(new Date());
    MimeBodyPart p1 = new MimeBodyPart();
    p1.setText(" \n" + "Please find attached the SPQ approval letter \n\n" + "Regards, \n");
    Multipart mp = new MimeMultipart();
    mp.addBodyPart(p1);
    msg.setContent(mp);
    msg.saveChanges();
    bus.sendMessage(msg, toAddresses);
    bus.sendMessage(msg, ccAddresses);
    bus.close();
    catch(Exception e)
    System.out.println("Exception at: "+e);
    This, program throws Exception when there is any invalid character or wrong domain specified.
    "class javax.mail.SendFailedException: 553 5.1.2 <[email protected]>... Invalid host name"
    Please help me to get some clue about how we can track the invalid email address and also, undeliverable emails in Bursting or XDO DeliveryManager classes.
    Thanks a Lot,

    Hi,
    Actually delivery failure notification is nothing to do with bursting or Delivery API, For me it deliver the notification if delivery address is incorrect (not exists), though the bursting engine does not through any error for invalid email format.
    If you really looking for the solution, as a workaround :
    I would use the file delivery
    Implement the Bursting Status Listener
    within Before Document Delivery, implement the customize delivery solution by using javax.mail logic to email the report.
    For most of us, It is too much and better to raise a SR, but you already implemented the other part, so just combine these two to get what you want.

    Well, thanks for trying. Actually, I don't believe Huffyuv uses even the color space YV12 (it's primarily designed for YUV, but, does support RGB.) Well, that codec would have been something I would consider using for the intermediate lossless videos, but, it won't install. The installer tells me I need quicktime 4.1.2 or later. I'm guessing it's one of those poorly written installers that just check for a built-in set of version numbers and refuse under the assumption it's too old if the program isn't one of those numbers.
    Anyway, due to time concerns, I'm forced to just go ahead and use only WMV. I would like to request that they consider adding support for HuffYUV as it is a common thing to use when one wants to work with lossless video (often used for intermediate video files or video captures.) I understand AVISynth may be impossible because QuickTime doesn't use the less reliable DirectShow method of decoding, but, HuffYUV shouldn't be too hard to support (especially since it is open source.)

  • Using email address as login identifier (UPN)

    We have a CRM 2011 that we need to expose to a set of external users.
    We want to be able to add the new external users in the CRM as say [email protected], and then have them authenticate using their email address when they login
    The plan is to use an external/3rd party  identity service that provides a bunch of wokflows for password changing and other support functions.
    We will be using ADFS 2.1 between our ADFS server and the 3rd party identity service ADFS.
    We will have some internal users using the CRM and this set of external users.
    We would like the external users to be able to use their email address to login. Their email addresses will all be from one domain (xyz.com) but that domain will  be different to the 3rd party identity provider.
    Now providing we have trusts  set up correctly between our ADFS server and the 3rd party ADFS server, is this possible with some claim mapping by the 3rd party identity provider?
    Given the 3rd party ADFS server will receive an email address of [email protected] can they then map that to a valid user on their domain?

    Have you forgotten your password? - if so, you have a problem if the email address has gone dead.
    If you know your password, go to the iTunes Store, click on Account. log in and you can change the associated email address.
    If you don't know your password, and have no email address, you are going to have problems because it's difficult to see how Apple are going to identify you as the authorised owner of the account. Contact iTunes Support: go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'. You will see a link to either 'Express Lane', which will guide you eventually to some contact options, or you may see a link to email them.

  • Unable to add account to Outlook 2010 for email address under custom domain

    I am unable to add a new account in Outlook 2010 for an email account set up under a custom domain.
    Can anyone explain why login credentials that work for outlook.com (successful access to email inbox) return an authentication failure (401 error) when used to test connectivity via https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com?
    Details:
    I set up a custom domain at https://domains.live.com and did the following DNS configuration steps at my web hosting company following instructions from domains.live.com:
    Created custom MX record
    Created CNAME record [name:] autodiscover.jrergonomics.com [value:] autodiscover.outlook.com.
    I created email addresses at domains.live.com > jrergonomics.com > Member accounts and tested by successfully logging in to outlook.com.
    When I try to add either account to Outlook 2010, I get a popup box with this information:
    Title: "Windows Security"
    Connecting to [email protected]
    [[email protected]]
    [ ] Remember my credentials
                                       [   OK   ]  [  Cancel
    The credentials that I use successfully to log in to outlook.com don't work here; I get the popup box 3-4 times and then the Outlook 2010 Add New Account dialog displays an error:
    "An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available. Click Next to attempt using an unencrypted connection."
    Clicking Next results in an error message:
    "Problem Connecting to Server"
    I have tried verifying the connectivity using https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com:

  • Multiple AppleIDs with linked emails unable to be switched...can I unverify an email address that I already verified?

    There is a major flaw in the design and use of AppleIDs and their use across the entire Apple product line.  It could be fixed easily if I could "unverify" an email address that I used for a certain appleID.  After over an hour talking with phone tech support they had no clue what to do so I proposed a temporary solution and gave up.
    The problem is I had an apple id that I used for iTunes, and I had my main email address which was from MobileMe which got switched over to iCloud.  My iTunes appleID is of the form that is just a word and not an email address.  Because of this I was unable to use it for iCloud.  The email address associated with the iTunes account appleID was my main email address which happened to be my MobileMe email address.  Apparently once an email address has been verified with an account there is no way to unverify that email address.  I already realized that I would have to have 2 appleIDs , one for iTunes and one for mobile me and I was ok with that.  The problem was that the MobileMe email address would not let me set it as my email address because it had already been verified with my iTunes appleID.  This left my MobileMe/icloud email address even though it IS an email address in and of itself, without an associated email address.  I am unable to associate the email address that I want with that appleID.  My solution was to create yet another email account and just use that but now that is causing problems with apps like "iMessage" , "Find my Friends" , and "FaceTime."  I want my correct email address (MobileMe/icloud address) to be used to identify me me with my friends and relatives act.  not the email address that I was forced to create as a temporary solution.  If there was just a way to "Unverify" an email address or merge accounts this would not be a major issue.  As it stands though this is a very confusing and incredibly annoying problem that Phone TechSupport had no clue whatsoever as to what could be done.  Does anyone know a fix or if there is some way to Unverify an email address that you used (the lady on techsupport said they couldn't).

    I've also had this issue and it beggars belief that they could have something so stupid as a policy.
    I have no less than 8 Apple devices that I use actively not to mention the family who  have more.
    I have an Itunes account and have bought a load of music and movies etc.
    I also (foolishly) took a MobileMe subscription and hardly used it.
    Now, when I try to register for Facetime I can't register the one and only email address that I use.
    Apple support says even though they have been using that for purchases on Itunes, App Store, MobileMe, etc etc, I cannot use it for Facetime! And Facetime requires the address so people who know me and know my one and only email address can call me on Facetime.
    No, instead, I must use another new email address!!
    How totally stupid.
    Support are really unhelpful on this issue as well. They keep talking about multiple accounts and the address being used on these accounts. These accounts are Itunes, MobileMe. And who do they belong to?? One person, ME!!!
    The last reply from support today was:
    Dear Roger,
    Unfortunately, there is no further information we have to offer and have now addressed all your concerns. This case is now considered closed. any further contact regarding this issue will be unanswered. However you are welcome to contact us if you need help with something other then this case.
    Thank you for understanding.
    Sincerely,

    Ah, NO! You have not addressed my concerns.
    It is almost like they don't want any existing clients on Itunes and MobileMe to use Facebook.
    I don't get it???? Help........

  • Need help big time. I need to change my apple ID but the original email address I set it up under is no longer used so i can't get my proper password sent to me. I don't want to set up a new account and lose all my old apps I have purchased.

    need help.  Before I set up my I-pad i need to regain access to my I-Tunes account, easy enough. The problem is I cannot re-set password.  I have tried to re-set and send to my designated email but it does not work. How can i get someone from Apple on the phone to help?

  • Arbitrary email addresses in send and reply fields

    I have been trying to figure this out for a while, so apologies if it seems obvious. I have a domain foo.com and use many different addresses [email protected], [email protected], etc to distinguish mail from different senders. For example, if I set up an account at amazon I give an email address of [email protected] to allow simple spam filtering and categorization. Then I open a gate in mac mail by adding a rule saying allow mail to "[email protected]". All these addresses (and there are MANY of them) are directed through a single account by my host service. Though the "to" field distinguishes them, the account they come in under is associated with an official email address of "[email protected]".
    Sometimes I need to send an email from one of these addresses. In particular, certain sites require an email+reply confirmation process which demands that the reply come from the [email protected] address. Often the original is sent via a web form, so mac mail plays no role. In mac mail, I can set the default to reply from a fixed address (from the list of official account email addresses) or from the official address of the "account" I last looked at, etc. I can also select from a pull down list of the official account email addresses. However, without adding a bzillion email addresses to the list by hand (and selecting or changing the prefs each time), I can't seem to simply modify the reply-from address or the sent-from address to be arbitrary. I want to do 1 of 2 things:
    1. Easily and directly edit the sent from or reply from field of a single email without changing any default settings or going into a preferences pane.
    or 2. Set a default of "reply-from" the address to which the email was addressed (rather than the account).
    I imagine the 2nd is problematic because there is no way to identify the address which is "me" in the recipient line if it is not known (like the "official" account address). I know how to do the 1st with sendmail, but that kind of defeats the purpose of using mac mail for integration.
    Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Cheers,
    Ken

    Thanks for the reply, but that doesn't quite help. I don't want to have to go into preferences and add a new address each time I reply. There are over 100 of these addresses and most get used infrequently. I want to simply edit a field in the email directly. The drop down menu solution doesn't work with a large and constantly growing set of addresses. Imagine you have [email protected] through [email protected] on your domain bar.com. If you get an email addressed to [email protected] you wouldn't want to have to go into preferences and add that to the allowed list before being able to reply. I want to simply reply as [email protected] There are legitimate reasons to set stuff up like this. I just want to be able to edit the "from" field in an email message the same way I can edit the "to" field. It would be equally frustrating if I had to go into preferences to add a recipient's email address every time I wanted to send one out.

  • I recently changed my email on my apple account but the old email address is displayed when I go into iTunes or App Store not allowing me in.

    I recently changed my email on my apple account but the old email address is displayed when I go into iTunes or App Store not allowing me to sign into my account. At some points it's a vicious circle because it asks for a password at key times when trying to correct the problem. Note that the new email address shows when I log into my Apple account and shows it was verified. For some reason the system isn't updating to the new email in ALL places.
    I hope this is the right place to post this. Thanks!

    Apple doesn't monitor here. Best we can do is to push you to contact Apple directly.
