Hi Rikk29, you can actually retrieve the guest password from the setup page of the router. You can access it through 192.168.1.1 or by using your Cisco Connect software. By the way, what is the model number of your device?

Time Capsule + Airport Express (no password for extended guest network)

Hi guys,
I´m using at home an Time Capsule combined with an Airport Express for extended range.
I´ve activated the Guest Network on the Time Capsule, using an WPA2 Password for it.
Problem is, the Airport Express is extending both the regular network and the guest network, but there´s no password set for the extended guest network.
So basically there are 4 networks, 3 are properly secured (TC regular and guest and AE regular) but I can´t set a password for the Guest Network that´s being extended by the Airport Express.
I have looked everywhere on the AirPort Utility with no luck whatsoever.
I appreciate any help on this.

So you don't have a Mac or even iOS device to setup the TC and express?
This addition of extending guest is new in later firmware.. but you need the 6.2 utility to control it.. AFAIK.

If you have Cisco Connect open it up & look around & it should show the passwords for both main & guest. At least mine did when I could access it.

Why does my new Airport Extreme accept the old password for a guest user?

I have a new N/AC Airport Extreme Time Capsule that a friend can access only by using the password for an older "G" Airport base station from a previous visit. She can't get onto my current network using the correct/current passwrod. Anybody have any ideas why this is happening? Thanks!

Ideally, yes. The closer each device is to the router the stronger the signal will be. Obviously, this is not usually possible. The free air range of an AEBS is a radius of about 150 feet. That should be adequate for a 1400 SF house.
If you find you are not able to get a strong enough signal at the farthest point from the router then consider adding an Airport Express near the middle of the house to extend the signal.

When I upgraded to Time Machine to replace my Apple Airport, I created a "guest" network as well as a main network for the family. Now I can't access the guest network, likely because I am not using the right password. I have forgotten (if I ever knew) how to edit the password requirements for a network. Any assistance would be welcome.

On your Mac.....
Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
The settings for the Guest Network are located in the center of the window, below the settings for the "Main" network.
Edit/backspace out the password for the Guest Network and and then Verify the password again
Click Update at the lower right of the window and give the Time Capsule a full minute to restart
It might be a good idea to write down the new password that you created and keep it in a safe place.

They have gone now and I am attempting to either change the password or delete the user. It won't allow me to choose the user I created. I am logged in as myself and it states that I am an "Admin". The user I'm attempting to change is listed as a "standard" user and there is a white checkmark inside an orange circular background on the user pic in the list of users.
Can someone help me? I am having a hard time believing that OSx will allow me to create users and allow them use of my computer and it's drives, yet it will not allow me to change the password so I can monitor what they might have been doing while logged on? What if this were my child? This guest left under sketchy circumstances, and I'd really like to be able to ensure they were not using my computer to do illegal things or to have illegal communications.
Any help would be appreciated. (It's odd that it was so simple to "create" a user and set a password for them.......but it's complicated or a little known process to reverse.

Here are two screen shots to show you what I am seeing. The first screen shot shows it allowing me to select (highlighted in blue) my admin user (which is what I am locced in as). The second screen shot shows it allowing me to select the "Guest" user (highlighted in blue). However when I click on the user "Orion" nothing happens. It will not change to highlight that user.

You can setup 3 different flavours of passwords:

a. Username Policy 1 - Email address as username
Use the guest's email address as the username. If an overlapping account with the same email address exists, a random number is added to the end of the email address to make the username unique. Overlapping accounts are accounts that have the same email address and are valid for an overlapping period of time.
b. Username Policy 2 - Create username based on first and last names
Create a username based on combining the first name and last name of the guest. You can set a Minimum username length for this username from 1 to 20 characters (default is 10). User names shorter than the minimum length are padded up to the minimum specified length with a random number.
c. Username Policy 3 - Create random username
Create a username based upon a random mixture of Alphabetic, Numeric or Other characters. Type the characters to include to generate the random characters and the number to use from each set of characters.
Note: The total length of the username is determined by the total number of characters included.

hello, I was trying to save all my information in my mac laptop and asked for a password I did type my admin password then laptop froze and went black! now its asking me for a guest password, I dont remember to have one! I tried all the passwords that I have/had and I doesnt take them! I cant pass from the start screen

That's not a password, it's your Apple ID. The same one you use to log onto this site or the App Store.

Ok. I know I'm really stupid!
I forgot my main user password and so then allowed someone on my laptop who accidently changed over into the guest user! Now I can't get back into my main user and I was wondering if anybody could either help me reset the password from the guest user or even reboot my laptop so the memory is wiped and I can set up my main user again. Please help me!!!

    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
     When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
     Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow
     instructions in the dialog window that will appear.

Hi Kit,
I understand your question now and I can point you to some usefull resources. First, you mentioned the three components, the chassis (which contains the FPGA), the ReamTime controller and the module. You also of course have your PC which is what the user will interface with to perhaps view the data on a graph. You will need to create a new FPGA project and you will have several key components in that project:
1) a VI on your FPGA target that is programmed to do I/O from your 9233 module. This VI must be created and then deployed and compiled onto the FPGA (this is like programming the chassis)
2) a VI on your RT controller that will use a DMA fifo to get the data from the FPGA. You may also have some signal processing or some other logic on this VI. This VI must be deployed to the RT controller
3) a VI on your host computer that will read data from the controller, probably save it to a disk and display it on a graph.
I would reccamend looking at a few resources to help you get started:
1) FPGA Design, Development and Programming Tutorial
2) Getting Started with the FPGA Module from the LabVIEW help files
3) LabVIEW FPGA Module On-Line Tutorial, this is a video tutorial that will be helpful
4) Use the LabVIEW example finder (in LabVIEW go to help»Find Examples) and under the "search tab" type in 9233. Open the 9233 getting started project that will populate in the list of available examples for the 9233. This project will serve as a starting point for your cRIO system programming.

For a stolen Macbook to appear in iCloud - the person who stole it must turn it on.
You can't track something that's turned off.
