Is Essbase 11.1.2 save text data?

Is Anyone know if Essbase 11.1.2 save text data? or it same as elder version just save a numeric code that link to RDBMS data on Hyperion Planning
Thanks

From the Essbase DB admin guide 11.1.2 - Essbase needs to store the text values as numbers. Therefore, a mapping of text values to numeric values is required. You define the mapping between the text and numeric values by creating a text list object. A text list object consists of a list of text values and a numeric value that corresponds to each text value.

  • Using Automator to save (Text, Dates, Time of event)  from safari to iCal ( calendar). Need help!

    Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to have a text from Safari imported directly to iCal calendar. I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.
So again, I was wondering is it possible to create command on Automator that could basically have the text from safari that you highlight then double click and have it imported to iCalendar all in one step. Rather then the traditional copying and pasting from the website or the page to iCal application. It would defiantly save time and could be effective for the services.
I know that currently Safari supports making a "Sticky Note" out of the highlighted text but not iCal Event from the text or date.
    Please inform thanks,
    Regards

    Hi there,
only two ways I can think off, you either have to tick the "Show action" when run button...which will allow you to change the date. But this requires you to do it, so not very automatic !
Daft question, but have you built the workflow and does it always have the same date, when saved as an Application and run on different days ?
Or use a GUI AppleScript, I can't see anything in the iCal dictionary that lets you create a new event...
So depending on your needs, you could add in a "Run AppleScript"
    tell application "iCal"
    activate
    tell application "System Events"
    tell process "iCal"
    keystroke "t" using command down
    delay 1
    keystroke "n" using command down
    end tell
    end tell
    end tell
It would open iCal, then go to today and create a new event.
It all depends on your full workflow really. It can be tweaked to suit.
    regards

  • Is there a way to format text data that has been persisted?

I am persisting five lines of numeric data in my app.  Each persisted line of data saves and returns perfectly after a ro-boot, except for the text size and color.
To be clear : If I save 199.55, that is what appears after a device re-boot.  The 'formatting' I am having issues with it the font size and color.
For some reason, the font sizes have changed and some of the font colors are incorrect.
Is there a way to correct this or prevent it from happening?
    Thanks.

If you are saying that I can only save text data, I can accept that.
But, why then does my saved data come back in its own colors and various font sizes?
    Thanks for your post.

  • How do I write a vi that will save graph data and text data (related to the graph) so the next time I want to view the graph data the text data is included in the read vi?

I am new at writing vi's and hope you may be able to help. I would like to create a vi that will graph measurements taken from a daq device. I would like to include text data that a user can choose from (example: machine number, test circuit, load cell type) that will stay with the graph so when the graph is viewed at a later time the text data (explaining parts of the graph) will display with the graph data. I have included a vi I am using to capture and display a force value. Any help would be greatly appreicated.
    Attachments:
    force.vi ‏500 KB

What you want is a DATALOG file:
When you save a file, use the BUNDLE function to bundle your machine number, test circuit, whatever (include a few spare fields), plus your graph data. Get the graph data from the source, or use a local variable of the graph itself.
Wire the bundle output to the DATALOG TYPE of a NEW FILE function. (I presume you'll use a FILE DIALOG set to SAVE FILE to choose a file path).
Write the same bundle output to the DATA input of a WRITE FILE function.
Use a CLOSE FILE function to (ahem) close the file.
When you want to read a file, use a FILE DIALOG set to EXISTING FILE (or some other means) to specify what file to read. Wire the same cluster type to the DATALOG TYPE of the FILE DIALOG, so that it will only
offer files of the correct type.
When you have a file path chosen, wire the bundle to the DATALOG TYPE input of a FILE OPEN operation.
Use a FILE READ to read a single cluster - the output of FILE READ will be a cluster of the right type.
Use a CLOSE FILE function to....
Out of the FILE READ function, you can UNBUNDLE BY NAME the data and send to the graph and the other fields, or, if you're clever, you can use a cluster on the screen, and not unbundle it. That's harder though, since you probably want the text fields to be controls (inputs) and the graph to be an indicator (output).
    Hope that helps.

  • How to save the data present in TEXT BOX?

Hi friends i am able to create a text editor in one of my screen but i want to know how to save the data when the text is entered in that text box and retrive when they open the screen?

    Hi ,
Please check the format below since it is based on a working code
first you need to create a text in s010 function module...
there should be some key based on which you plan to save the text..imagine it is Purchase order then..PO+item numner is always unique.eg:0090010(900PO/item10).so in the code you can append these two and they will be unique..so you can always retrieve them, overwrite, save them anytime you need

  • How can i save a data in text format

how can i save a data in text format in labwindows cvi
Message Edited by Tikoy on 04-14-2010 11:30 PM
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
If your data is in an array, the easiest way is to use the ArrayToFile function.
It automatically creates a file and puts your data in it according to the format you provide.
If you have individual samples that you need to write once in a while, you can either collect them into an array and then use ArrayToFile or open a file with fopen and write them as they are acquired with fwrite.
    Hope this helps,

  • I want to be able to save texts to a file or folder seperate from the rest of my texts.  This is so I can forward them onto someone else at a later date.

    Hi
I want to be able to save texts to a file or folder seperate from the rest of my texts.  This is so I can foward them onto someone else at a later time.
I have always had this facility on my previous phones e.g. blackberry but can't seem to find a way with my Iphone.

No such option is available with the iPhone.
A text can be forwarded, but texts are saved in conversation format by contact/phone number.
Texts are included with your iPhone's backup, which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. There are a number of 3rd party utilities that provide for extracting select data from your iPhone's backup for access on your computer - viewing/archiving/printing, etc.
    Here is one.

  • How can I save text messages to my Mac and will that reduce "Other" in storage?

I have hundreds (or more) of text messages on my iPhone 5 that for personal reasons, I want to save. There are far too many to do screenshots. I want to save them to my MacBook Pro Retina in a readable and printable format. The reason is that I read that text messages can cause the "Other" storage to be higher. My "Other" is over 6 GB on a 16 GB iphone. Therefore I want to save texts, print them, and delete from phone.
First question: Is it true that text messages contribute to the size of "Other"?
Second question: How can I save texts to Mac in readable format so they could be printed?
Third question: How in the world do I delete all these texts from my iPhone efficiently? Is there a way to "mass delete"?
When you are answering this, perhaps it is noteworthy that:
    (a) I've had an iPhone since a 3G in 2009, and the texts I want to save have been accumulating since then.
    (b) My "Other" has gradually gotten larger over the years.
    (c)  I sync with itunes regularly.
    (d) I've never had any problems with an iphone or with my data.
    (e) I've restored from backup only three times, when I upgraded to the iphone 4, 4S, and 5.
I want to get this "Other" cleared up before I upgrade to the iphone 5S.
    Thank you.

You can select to export a folder to save as a .mbox file. This file would need to be imported if you wanted to view the messages.
    Select mailbox (folder)
Under Mailbox in the Menu bar select Export Mailbox...
You might also want to check out the demo for EagleFiler by the author for SpamSieve. You could view and search the messages archived in EagleFiler.

  • How to have a member formula to reference a text data type member?

    Hi there
I am just wondering how do you use a member formula to grab the text in a text data type member?
Our situation is that we have a text data type member in the Accounts dimension (called Project Manager). This is a free text field users can input a project manager's name. However, for our reporting purposes we want to report the Project Manager next to a list of Accounts (i.e. in the same row). The way we have tried to achieve this is to create dynamic calc text data type members in the Version dimension that simply refer to the Project Manager account using the reference function (->).
Although this works, when we run a report we get a number (assuming this is just the reference ID to the RDBMS field) instead of the actual name. We have set the dynamic calc member to text data type as well. We are using a planning connection as well.
Does anyone know how to make this work?
    Thanks

Are you talking about FR reports, does it display the text if you reference the original member using a planning connection, if it does then it probably looks like you can't do it using the method you are trying as it is an essbase formula and in theory it will just return a number.
    Cheers

  • Save text in a PO during creation

    Hi All,
I need to save text in PO during PO creation. I am using the BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST method:PROCESS_ITEM. My EBELN is blank here. I do have other required fields like text id, text name to use in SAVE_TEXT.
Text needs to be saved before the PO is saved.. User can edit the text. So BADI during PO save is not an option.
How do i save the text in my PO header during creation and during the line item is entered?

I haven't used this method myself, but when I look at method PROCESS_ITEM, the import parameter IM_ITEM  is of type (REF TO) IF_PURCHASE_ORDER_ITEM_MM. This has interface method IF_LONGTEXTS_MM~SET_TEXT (description: set long text per text id). This sounds like a good method to use.

  • Using Calc Manager to update values for Members with Text Data Type

    Hi All,
In my outline I have a member of text data type. The purpose is to allow users to be able to enter comments.
Each line item is created through a business rule and I am prompting the user to enter the key values at the launch of the calc manager rules. I want to be able to prompt the user for the comments in the calc manager rule because I know that it supports variables of type string. However I am unable to assign this string variable directly to the member.
I appreciate that essbase only stores numeric data and that all text data type members really store numeric values which are basically the id's of the text string stored in a relational table by planning. however I cannot update the database table through calc manager and then bring in the generated id. Is there any way I can do this?
I don't want to skip this field in the calc manager rule and expect the user to enter the comments AFTER the line item has been created because the users want this to be a mandatory field and insist that a new line item not be created unless comments are specified.
Many thanks in advance for any help I can get.
    Shehzad

If the comments are a set definition you could you smart lists in your planning forms.
create this in your smart list
    xxxx = 1
    yyyy = 2

  • A string that can be displayed as both ASCII and hex in an indicator will only save the data to a file in ASCII format

We can see the data in an indicator just fine, but when we try to write that string of hexadecimal data to a file, it will only save the data in ASCII format.
This sounds fairly simple, as the indicator can be selected to display the data in several different formats (VI>Properties>Appearance>Display Style: Normal, Backslash...., Hexadecimal).  However, I have been unable, as of yet, to save the data in different formats.
