Is icloud constantly this unreliable?
for the past few weeks every morning i wake up to the alert "could not log in to icloud, check login information" then it goes away after a couple hours. and yesterday for the first time i wasnt able to access my calanders online, on my mac, or on my phone. the website kept telling me my password was invalid, so after lots of hairpulling frustration, i changed my PW TWICE to some stupid long annoying password (since you NEED capitols and more then one number, and it cant be anything related to an old password, which is ********. i should be able to make my own password even if its "1234") then i notice icloud puts on the system status "some users have issues with login" right. figures, AFTER my password has been changed..... i made the complete switch to icloud 3 months ago from Gcal. and i must say im about to ditch anything thats not apple hardware. (example, new itunes is the worst!)
so tell me this. for a professional using icloud to sync calanders/notes/appointments across a few devices... does it ABSOLUTELY SUCK for you too? has your experience been nothing but frustration and worry?
i need to have my calanders sync damnnit! should i ditch icloud? i look back through forums and see mobileme/icloud have ALWAYS had issues written by people like me, no the normal every day "i want to sync my contacts" user. but power users that actually rely on icloud.
I have MacBook Air (new), iPhone5, iPad2 and bad iCloud. MacBook to iCloud works fine but getting Calendar events out to or back from iOS devices very unreliable. Especially any changes to existing events.Could this be a case of Apple farming out the iCloud work to some other entity who is not up to snuff or they found a product that was not ready for prime time and acquired it. Doesn't really matter but it sure doesn't seem very Apple like. I rely on the system to work and it does not. This system is supposed to save time and make life easier. Instead it has cost me many hours of stress and lost productivity.

Call Apple Care for your country and ask for help resetting the password and the security questions.

Feb 13, 2013 17,10AM I can't sync my downloaded icloud software and it says my ID is a valid Apple ID, but not an icloud ID - this is right after I've set it up as one(When i try to log in on Icloud). Help
Are you trying to login to an account you already made (on an iPhone or similar) or create a new iCloud account?

I have set up iCloud on my iPad as instructed. When I try to login to iCloud from safari on my iPad I get redirected to set up iCloud on this iPad.

iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1If you upload a document from your computer to your iCloud account, the document automatically appears in the app on the iPad - If the app works with iCloud.
You can't log into iCloud and transfer just any and all documents from your computer to the iPad. That's now how iCloud works. You have to upload all of the compatible files into iCloud before you get to the office and then the files will be accessible on your iPad.
There are really only a few apps that even work with iCloud in this manner right now, the Apple iWorks apps work with iCloud, so once again - at this point in time - given the way that iCloud works - there is no reason to log into your iCloud account on the iPad. You have to understand what iCloud does and how it works and I think then it makes sense as to why you don't need to log into iCloud on the iPad. -

ThanksThe minimum requirements require the intel core 2 duo processor.so I am sorry to say that you will need to update your mac if you want to run Lion and iCloud. Apple's http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html page for osx gives the minimum requirements.

I added content to a document in Pages on my Mac last night, which was saved to icloud and this morning the additions were gone. Can I get my precious work back? ThanksJust thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV). -
My iPad is not responding. It does not unlock. I have a message: iCloud Backup, "This iPad hasn't been backed up in 5 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi". My Question: plugged in to WHAT? locked, HOW? and how to connect to Wi-Fi when my iPad does not respond to anything I do with it? PLEASE HELP.

Hold Sleep and Home buttons for 10 seconds until your device restarts, so you will be able to use the iPad again.
The iPad makes a backup into iCloud automatically when it's connected to the network and it is been charged -
My Ipad has locked itself up and is posting the followning message: iCloud Backup This iPad has not been backed up for 2 weeks.... I've plugged it in, it should be connected to rgour home wi-fi, but I cant get the message to go away when I push OK. I cant get it to do anything. It is fully charged, but I can't even turn it off (won't let me), Just continues to post the iCloud Backup message.
Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

You cannot connect to iCloud.com from an iOS device, you can only connect from a computer. You can access any of the data in your iCloud account from the appropriate apps on your device (mail, contacts, calendars etc)

When I turn on my iPad I get this message: "iCloud Backup - This iPad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi." It has rendered my iPad useless as I cannot even unlock it, and it shuts down within a few seconds of turning it on. Is there any way to clear this?
Try this now.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
my iPad is stuck with a small blue screen saying iCloud Backup, this iPad hasn't been backed up in 4 weeks.Backups blah blah… Click OK. I can't get it off the screen and I can't use the iPad because of it. Can anyone out there help?
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). -

You will need to setup a new Apple ID for your sister. You have to have an Apple ID and iDevice connected and using that account to get an iCloud account.
