    Is it possible to call Normal function Module(FM) from WebDynPro for ABAP , Not RFCs

    There is no difference, unless you are specifically calling the RFC to connect to another system. If so, then you need to add the DESTINATION keyword to the function call and specify the destination name. This name must be defined in SM59.  But, if you are not going to another system, you can call the RFC the same way you call the regular function module.

  • Is it possible to call any Managed Bean method from af:goLink

    Hi,
    I am using RichGoLink component.
    Is it possible to call a managed bean method on click of the af:goLink? I want to provide some validations when user clicks on the goLink.
    There is no any actionListener provided.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I am able to resolve my second problem also.
    i wanted to set the "destination" of the goLink on the fly. To do this I created a custom componnt by extending the RichGoLink and I override the encodeBegin method in that class. In this method i check my condition and then set the "destination" property.
    I am still using the clientListener and the serverListerner to do some further testing that i wanted to. Here one thing you have to keep in mind that. In the javascript function that we are calling in the clientListener should not do the "cancel" on the event object, if you do so it will not navigate to the required position.
    Thanks for the way you showed to resolve my problem. Hope you understand the way i worked for this solution.

    You have called a function or method requiring a measurement studio product for which you are not licensed...
    Is it not included as part of the Prefessional edition (rev 009 2009.08.11)?

    There is some question as to what the version it actually is. The box has a label on it with the info in my first post, the manual that came in the box says 8.5. Add and remove has no version info. But, the control itself when calling the .aboutbox pops up a dialog that says v6 (590).
    This is happening in VB6 (SP6).
    Note that the same thing is happening on my partners machine. Same version of NI  Measurement Studio. Neither of us are having problems with the .net version of the library.

  • Is it possible to call CF functions dymanically?

    Is it possible to call a ColdFusion function dynamically? For
    example you might have a date variable: myDate that you want to
    apply a ColdFusion date function to. However, the function itself
    needs to be dynamic because you might want to call "dateFormat",
    "timeFormat", "dateAdd", etc.
    Is there a way to evaluate an expression like this?
    <!-- defined the function to call and encapsulate the
    dynamic variable name with brackets -->
    <cfset functionToCall =
    "DateFormat([myVariable],'MM/DD/YYYY')">
    <cfset myDate = CreateODBCDate('03/19/1977')>
    <!-- now replace the bracketed name with the actual
    variable data (myDate) -->
    <cfset fullString =
    ReplaceNoCase(functionToCall,'[myVariable]','#myDate#','ALL')>
    <!-- display the output -->
    <cfoutput>
    #evaluate(fullString )#
    </cfoutput>
    What I get here is an error message because there are invalid
    characters in "fullString". When I simply cfoutput fullString the
    text it produces looks perfect, its just that I need to find a way
    to evaluate it.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for taking the time to help.

    presumably, which function you need to use depends on some
    condition...
    so you can just use a <cfif> or <cfswitch> block
    to check the condition
    and use appropriate function...
    you can even encapsulate it into your own function that uses
    built-in cf
    functions depending on some other argument passed.
    e.g:
    <cffunction name="myveryowndatefunction">
    <cfargument name="mydate" required="yes">
    <cfargument name='myotherargument" required="yes">
    <cfif arguments.myotherargument eq something>
    <cfreturn use_one_cf_function>
    <cfelseif ...>
    <cfreturn use_other_cf_function
    <cfelse>
    <cfreturn use_yet_another_cf_function>
    </cfif>
    </cffunction>

  • Is their a possibility to call SDK functions from TestStand directly?

    Hello!
    I want to call a function from the Windows SDK.
    Is this possible?
    Regards,
    Brosig
    Using TestStand 3.5 and Windows XP

    Brosig,
    sadly i dont know what the error with the pdb-file could be. but as far
    as i see from the description to the function found here, there should
    be no such dependency.
    please take a look into the "requirements"-section of the link. it
    seems that kernel32.dll is sufficient for usage of the function. and
    for myself, i never had such problems when using the kernel32.dll.....
    one problem could be the type of the parameter you are using. i know
    that there are sometimes odd issues on SDK when the parameters do not
    fit exactly the needed type.  so make sure that all strings are
    null-terminated and the buffers you pass are preallocated!

  • Is it possible to call a function in a parent component from a child component in Flex 3?

    This is probably a very basic question but have been wondering this for a while.
    I need to call a function located in a parent component and make the call from its child component in Flex 3. Is there a way to access functions in a parent component from the child component? I know I can dispatch an event in the child and add a listener in the parent to call the function, but just wanted to know if could also directly call a parent function from a child (similar to how you can call a function in the main mxml file using Application.application). Thanks

    There are no performance issues, but it is ok if you are using the child component in only one class. Suppose if you want to use the same component as a child to some bunch of parents then i would do like the following
    public interface IParentImplementation{
         function callParentMethod();
    and the parent class should implement this 'IParentImplementation'
    usually like the following line
    public class parentClass extends Canvas implements IParentImplementation{
              public function callParentMethod():void{
         //code
    in the child  you should do something like this.
    (this.parent as IParentImplementation).callParentMethod();
    Here using the Interfaces, we re decoupling the parent and the child

  • Is it possible to call a function with the same name from 2 different dll's at the same time.

    I'm trying to call a function ( F ) form 2 different libraries ( A.dll and B.dll ) at the same time. The first lib loaded determines the function F. A->F and B->F have same interface and name but different implementation.

    Hi,
    I tried it with two dll's, both with the same interface, and at the same
    time, in the same VI. The popups even appear at the same time.
    But now I understand the problem... Both dll's are created by LabVIEW! If
    they are not (or one is not, and the other is), this is no problem.
    And VI's in memory cannot have the same name. LabVIEW doesn't care if VI's
    are in a dll or not.
    This might not help, but if you want to make some sort of "plug in" system,
    you might consider using llb's. By loading VI's dynamically, you can select
    the path from which they are loaded. You must unload (close all references)
    one before the loading the other, or the same problem will occur. If you go
    this way, I consider a different approach. Make on
    e library (or even a dll)
    that has the interface you like, this is the "loader". Now make several
    "plug in"'s, with the same interfaces. The name of each function in a plug
    in is a concatenation of the library name and the function name. The loader
    has one extra function, that loads (and unloads, when done) references to
    all desired libraries to use (the names of the functions can be figured out
    easily). All that the loader functions do is dynamically call the library
    functions. You can use a call by reference node for this (you can use the
    connector pane or the loader vi, since the interface must be the same!).
    If you go this way, I guess the loader library can be converted to a dll...
    Hope this helps.

  • ABAP Calling JAVA Function or Method

    Hi Friend,
    I need help in how to proceed using  ABAP  and Call JAVA Function . I know that  we need to use RFC enabled Function modules. I was able to connect  using JAVA Connector which was provided by SAP For communicating with JAVA Apps. The approach for connecting the JAVA to SAP is working fine.  But I  have browsed through various website but failed to find any information.Now i am looking forward to help from you friends to solve my problems .
    The Requirement is mentioned below:-
      1. Prerequiste for SAP ABAP calling a third Party software which is working in JAVA Platform (like any middle ware which might be hardware or software).
      2. Sample Code  like calling a Text  ' Hello  to the world  calling JAVA from ABAP'.
      3. Steps and process so that it would be helpful.
    Timely help would be appreciated.
    Rajiv Christopher.

    1.Middleware is JCO RFC provider it comes with SAP so no need any third party Adapter.
    2.

  • How to call javascript function & action method on clicking jsf  button?

    I have one jsf custom button. I am checking client side validations in mail by calling javascript function & also sending mail by calling action method of a bean which will execute at server side for onclick event of that button. Because of this when I click on that button its calling both javascript function and action method. So even though validations failed its sending mail. How can I overcome this problem?? Please help me....

    I am asking regarding commanLinks in jsf. I have the following code block in jsf. Even though mailSentMessage('true'); returns false, its calling action="#{emailObjectAction.sendEmail}" method. thats why I got that doubt. try the following code.
    <h:commandLink id="mailBtn123Send"      onclick="return mailSentMessage('true');" value="send mail"     action="#{emailObjectAction.sendEmail}">
    </h:commandLink>

  • Is it possible to call Java functions from XSLT, using standard Java 6?

    I have seen examples, but the examples are always the most simple case, which even I can already get working. The case where no arguments are passed to the java function.
    As soon as I try to pass an argument to the java function, i get a stupid unhelpful error message (as always error messages are unhelpful).
    Or am I wasting my time using the standard provided java parser, and need to use apache or something?
    anyone who can provide me with a couple lines of working code is to me a saint!
    At the moment I am using calling a named template, and passing a param into this.
    I want to use this param as an argument in the Java function.
    Is this possible?
    example code:
         <xsl:template name="calc-age">
              <xsl:param name="dob"/>
         <xsl:variable name="sdob" select="java:lang.String.new($dob)"/>
         <xsl:value-of select="java:toString($sdob)"/>
         </xsl:template>

    I have fixed it.
    I had to call an xslt 1 function 'string' on the variable before passing it into the java function (see below).
         <xsl:template name="calc-age">
              <xsl:param name="dob"/>
              I know that the value of the param is: <xsl:value-of select="$dob"/><br/>
             <xsl:variable name="poo" select="$dob"/>
             <xsl:variable name="sdob" select="java:lang.String.new(string($poo))"/>
             And here again, we try to print a variable<xsl:value-of select="$poo"/>                <br/>
             And here again, we try to print the result of the java call<xsl:value-of select="java:toString($sdob)"/>      <br/>
             and here is our variable sdob    <xsl:value-of select="$sdob"/>
         </xsl:template>          Now this is APPARENTLY a xslt-1 function,
    but the reference I had been using for this is
    http://www.w3schools.com/xpath/xpath_functions.asp it is linked to by a reference that calls these xslt-2 functions.
    Maybe they are mixed xslt-1 and xslt-2 functions?
    How am I supposed to know?
    Where is a good (plain and simple, easy to read) reference for xsl, so i know which functions are which?
    Anyone got a good answer to that question?

  • IFRAME in portlet question - possible to call parent function from iframe?

    From the iframe I tried to call the parent function by doing this parent.myFunc(). I got a permission denied javascript message. Just curious if anyone has successfully done this. If so please share your thoughts and comments.

    Hi,
    You will get "Persmission denied" error due to cross site scripting. Either you need to change browser settings to allow cross site scripting or you need to make sure both the URLs fall under same parent domain like both URLs ending with "*.abc.com".

  • Is it possible to call a function when a specific event happens?

    Hi everyone,
    I would like to pop up an alert when a user deletes a named destination marker. I thought this would be a no-brainer, but I'm having trouble finding examples of scripts that handle events.
    Is this even possible? Any ideas on how to go about this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    PS - I always say this when I post, but many thanks to all who contribute to this forum. I'm still learning and don't post much, but I read each question and answer. So, thanks!

    Thanks, Rick!
    Your info was very helpful. I did consult the list of “monitorable” events and deleting an anchor is not on the list. But, it’s good to see what is available for future projects.
    I was trying to prevent deleting of a single anchor, but instead I’ll move on to the next component of comparing all the anchors to a .csv file. I know I’ve seen posts about this before. So, I’m off on another fact finding mission.
    Thanks again,

  • Is it possible to call dll-functions with records/types as arguments?

    or must I use the fixed preselection of types

    LabVIEW must call DLLs with data types it is compatible. Therefore, you must use the types available through LabVIEW.
    I have two pieces of advice on this matter:
    First, contact NI and get their advice on how to call your data type. They may be able to offer a very quick solution.
    Second, if you cannot call these data types, and you have a compiler, I would suggest "wrapping" the DLL inside another, and 'translate' the data type from something LabVIEW can handle, to the type needed by your DLL in this 'wrapper' DLL.
