IFRAME in portlet question - possible to call parent function from iframe?
From the iframe I tried to call the parent function by doing this parent.myFunc(). I got a permission denied javascript message. Just curious if anyone has successfully done this. If so please share your thoughts and comments.
Hi,
You will get "Persmission denied" error due to cross site scripting. Either you need to change browser settings to allow cross site scripting or you need to make sure both the URLs fall under same parent domain like both URLs ending with "*.abc.com".

Is their a possibility to call SDK functions from TestStand directly?
Hello!
I want to call a function from the Windows SDK.
Is this possible?
Regards,
Brosig
Using TestStand 3.5 and Windows XPBrosig,
sadly i dont know what the error with the pdb-file could be. but as far
as i see from the description to the function found here, there should
be no such dependency.
please take a look into the "requirements"-section of the link. it
seems that kernel32.dll is sufficient for usage of the function. and
for myself, i never had such problems when using the kernel32.dll.....
one problem could be the type of the parameter you are using. i know
that there are sometimes odd issues on SDK when the parameters do not
fit exactly the needed type. so make sure that all strings are
null-terminated and the buffers you pass are preallocated!

Is it possible to call Java functions from XSLT, using standard Java 6?
I have seen examples, but the examples are always the most simple case, which even I can already get working. The case where no arguments are passed to the java function.
As soon as I try to pass an argument to the java function, i get a stupid unhelpful error message (as always error messages are unhelpful).
Or am I wasting my time using the standard provided java parser, and need to use apache or something?
anyone who can provide me with a couple lines of working code is to me a saint!
At the moment I am using calling a named template, and passing a param into this.
I want to use this param as an argument in the Java function.
Is this possible?
example code:
<xsl:template name="calc-age">
<xsl:param name="dob"/>
<xsl:variable name="sdob" select="java:lang.String.new($dob)"/>
<xsl:value-of select="java:toString($sdob)"/>
</xsl:template>I have fixed it.
I had to call an xslt 1 function 'string' on the variable before passing it into the java function (see below).
<xsl:template name="calc-age">
<xsl:param name="dob"/>
I know that the value of the param is: <xsl:value-of select="$dob"/><br/>
<xsl:variable name="poo" select="$dob"/>
<xsl:variable name="sdob" select="java:lang.String.new(string($poo))"/>
And here again, we try to print a variable<xsl:value-of select="$poo"/> <br/>
And here again, we try to print the result of the java call<xsl:value-of select="java:toString($sdob)"/> <br/>
and here is our variable sdob <xsl:value-of select="$sdob"/>
</xsl:template> Now this is APPARENTLY a xslt-1 function,
but the reference I had been using for this is
http://www.w3schools.com/xpath/xpath_functions.asp it is linked to by a reference that calls these xslt-2 functions.
Maybe they are mixed xslt-1 and xslt-2 functions?
How am I supposed to know?
Where is a good (plain and simple, easy to read) reference for xsl, so i know which functions are which?
Anyone got a good answer to that question? -
Is it possible to call a function in a parent component from a child component in Flex 3?
This is probably a very basic question but have been wondering this for a while.
I need to call a function located in a parent component and make the call from its child component in Flex 3. Is there a way to access functions in a parent component from the child component? I know I can dispatch an event in the child and add a listener in the parent to call the function, but just wanted to know if could also directly call a parent function from a child (similar to how you can call a function in the main mxml file using Application.application). ThanksThere are no performance issues, but it is ok if you are using the child component in only one class. Suppose if you want to use the same component as a child to some bunch of parents then i would do like the following
public interface IParentImplementation{
function callParentMethod();
and the parent class should implement this 'IParentImplementation'
usually like the following line
public class parentClass extends Canvas implements IParentImplementation{
public function callParentMethod():void{
//code
in the child you should do something like this.
(this.parent as IParentImplementation).callParentMethod();
Here using the Interfaces, we re decoupling the parent and the child

Yes, SAPHTTPA (runs on application server) and/or SAPHTTP (runs on front-end pc), one of which, is required for HTTP communication. So far, nothing too elaborate as far as SOAP goes, but the logic is simplistic. Here's some sample code:
DEST = 'SAPHTTPA'.
TRANSLATE HOST TO LOWER CASE.
MYURL = 'wssrvTest/Service.asmx/GetByOrderItem'.
CONCATENATE HOST MYURL INTO MYURL.
REQUEST_HEADERS-DATA =
'Content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded'.
APPEND REQUEST_HEADERS.
CLEAR REQUEST_HEADERS.

Possible to call a transaction from a planning book using a macro button?
Hi All,
Is it somehow possible to call a transaction using a macro button in the planning book? Also, the current selection should be passed as input parameters to the transaction.
In my example, I am trying to run the transaction /SAPAPO/MC90 - Release to Supply Network Planning from the Demand Planning Planning Book/Data View. This way if planners need to change forecasts mid month for specific selections, they can easily transfer to SNP without having to go out of interactive planning.
Thank you,
MariaHello Maria,
It's possible to call a transaction from a planning book using a macro button.
What you can do is ..... Create a function module and inside it use the command "Call Transaction Tcode" (ABAPer can do this) to call ur specific transaction. And this module can in turn be called from your macro. Please find the below link which explanis how to call a function module from a macro. Do let me know if you need more information on this.

Hi Friends,
It it possible to call web service from SAP 4.6 c..If yes how
Thanks in Advance.
Murali Krishna KIt is not possible to directly call a web service from SAP 4.6c.
Indeed, web service enablement is available as from Web AS 6.20, thus as from SAP R/3 4.7
So as described above, the solution is indeed to make use of PI(XI) for this.

Is it possible to call Java routines from FMS?

I'd appreciate any suggestions.Yes! You can use SOAP(or XML-RPC) to call Java routines.

Is it possible to call Normal function Module from WD4A , Not RFCs
Is it possible to call Normal function Module(FM) from WebDynPro for ABAP , Not RFCs
There is no difference, unless you are specifically calling the RFC to connect to another system. If so, then you need to add the DESTINATION keyword to the function call and specify the destination name. This name must be defined in SM59. But, if you are not going to another system, you can call the RFC the same way you call the regular function module.

Two difficulties I can see with this.
First the application seems to allocate the array of references
internally and return a pointer to that array. In that case there must
be another function which then deallocates that array again.
Then you would need to setup the function call to have a pointer to an
int32 number for the deviceList parameter and another pointer to int32
one for the plItems parameter.
Then create another function in your DLL similar to this:
HRESULT WRAPIEnumExtractDevice(WRAPI_NDIS_DEVICE *lpDeviceList, long i,
CHAR lpszDeviceName, LONG lenDeviceName,
CHAR lpszDeviceDesc, LONG lenDeviceDesc)
if (!lpDeviceList)
return ERROR_INV_PARAMETER;
if (lpDeviceList[i].pDeviceName)
WideCharToMultiByte(CP_ACP, 0,
pDeviceList[i].pDeviceName, -1,
lpszDeviceName, lenDeviceName,
NULL, NULL);
if (lpDeviceList[i].pDeviceName)
WideCharToMultiByte(CP_ACP, 0,
pDeviceList[i].pDeviceDescription, -1,
lpszDeviceDesc, lenDeviceDesc,
NULL, NULL);
return NO_ERROR;
Pass the int32 you got from the first parameter of the previous call as
a simple int32 passed by value to this function (and make sure you don't
call this function with a higher index than (plItems - 1) returned from
the first function.

Calling a Function from another Function within CFC
Hi all,
I have many functions in my CFC that do various things, but
one query is a query that selects absolutely every record from a
table.
The thing is, I need to do a query like this in another
function to obtain only a recordcount of the same table used in
both separate functions. Instead of writing the query out again,
how can I utilise the function already written?
My question is, how can I invoke and use the results of a
query in one cffunction for another cffunction in the same CFC
component?
An example may look like the code attached...
Many thanks for your patience and help!

exactly what you do outside a cfc.
For your specific case, if your requirements permit it, you
might consider caching the big query for a couple of seconds. Then
you can continously call the function and not have to wait for it
to run and bring back the data each time.
Do you mean to say that within a CFC function I can execute
the same cfinvoke tags I use in normal CFM pages?

Call a function from another software
hello,
Iam working on a program where i have to invoke a function from another software, is there any way i can do that? someone told me that i can use RMI to invoke the function but it seems to me like RMI is mainly for networked and distributed systems. any suggestions? i have an idea in my mind, if the software is programmed using c/c++ i can use the native coding to access the functions, well this is only a blind shot, not sure about it.
asrarHey asrar,
It is possible to call external programs from within the JVM. You need to do the following:
Process p = java.lang.Runtime.getInstance().exec("some.exe");
You can then do the following:
p.waitFor();
This will block until the process returns.
The Process class gives you access to 3 streams.
p.getInputStream(); returns a stream that the process sends to stdout.
p.getErrorStream(); returns a stream that the process sends to stderr.
p.getOutputStream(); returns a stream that allows you to send data to the process.
That is basically all you get.
