Is it a bug of version 10.2.0.1.0??

I have installed Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 on a Windows 2003 server for testing purpose. After the installation, it worked very well. All client tools could connect to the instance successfully. So I shut down the machine.
But the strange thing happened the next day. No any setting was changed but all the client tools couldn't connect to the server any more. The error message is ORA-12514 TNS: Listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor. I found it is a very common error and I tried many methods following the suggestions in this forum but with no luck.
Finally I decided to reinstall the server. But the same issue happened again! It worked well before I shut it down and boot again! I can swear no any setting or file has been changed!
Today I reinstall it for the third time and the strange issue happened as well. I feel much frustrated with this issue. I don't know if it is a known bug of this version. Hope somebody can help me.

Yes, I can make sure all relative services are started... especially the Oracle service and the listener service.
To give you more hints, here are two different results when I run lsnrctl -start.

I had a look at os_yield.c and noticed dbenv didn't seem to defined anywhere. When I looked at os_yield.c from version 4.6.19 I noticed the first variable it passes to __os_sleep() is named dbenv and it is the name of the first variable passed to __os_yield() which calls __os_sleep(). In version 4.7.25 the name of the first variable passed to __os_yield() is env and it is actually used in the call to __os_sleep() on line 49. So, I changed dbenv on line 61 to env and then make and make install ran successfully.
Was I just lucky or isn't this a proper solution?

When the same text is view in another browsers it appears correctly as "two/".
I've checked, and the same problem appears in Firefox on another computer.

You are on a Mac and that is a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerning kerning] problem. Don't you see the same problem in other applications if you choose the same font, font-weight and font-size.
I only find one other kerning [https://support.mozilla.com/questions/789254 question] here -- it is marked unsolved. I find it strange that Firefox got involved with this at all rather than leaving such things to the operating system and font metrics.
Does the problem go away with "command+0" (zero) which resets [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Zoom_text_of_web_pages zoom level] to normal. If you mess with the font sizes in your preferences because you want larger print that would have the same effect.
Also found this one recently reported for [https://support.mozilla.com/questions/892222 Firefox 7 in ubuntu 11.04] which appears much worse. If it involves Firefox and specific operating systems it becomes a lot harder to diagnose who or what is responsible.

It appears I do not have Illustrator CC2014.1 (can't tell since you don't list the version number anywhere!), but I can't seem to download it. I go to the download page from the link in this forum and nothing downloads, It just says it is downloading. I get the CC widget from my mac menu poping up, and it says all the Apps are up to date. I had a colleague who had a problem of CC saying CC Acrobat Pro was up to date when it clearly was not the current X.x.x version, I am thinking this may be a problem here as well. I really need to talk to someone I think, but there seems to be no way to get to a chat or live person. This seems like pretty bad service so far...
The bugs I am seeing is I can not set a line wight to less than 1 pt. and the items o move around seem to be snapping to a pixel sized (1/72 in) grid instead of where I actually move them. I have confirmed the snap to grid is off in the menu. I can also not set the key increment move meant to more than 2 decimal places. In CS6 I could go 3 decimal places.

Just found the answer to some of my issues. The Alight to pixel grid command was on (what a painful feature to be on by default!) "When I select .25 line width, the line width defaults to 1 pt., how do I fix that?"
Now if I could just confirm if I am current with the Program version...

Open up Flash using the Designer workspace (it can be any workspace, though).
Now select Import so the OS X file dialog appears. Drag the dialog to be longer vertically so you can see more files listed. Select Cancel.
Now drag the divider between the timeline and the stage down to be bigger vertically so you can see more Layers in the timeline.
Now select Import and watch the file dialog spawn from the top of the stage, move down, hit the bottom of the screen, and shift your entire workspace. This is a bug. It shouldn't do this. Try fixing this weird anomaly at the top of your screen where it's a gap in the interface and you can't see the top part of the workspace.
How long has Flash been out and this bug still exists?
Steve Jobs was right. Adobe is lazy, though Apple's own Final Cut Studio has its share of ignored bugs, so he has no room to talk.
I suppose I'm going to have to buy CS5 to get a bug fix...or it will carry over. I remember when Macromedia was around creating competition. The consumer benefited from that competition.

Have you reported this bug? Based on the series of steps you need to create this scenario, it is possible no one else has encountered it, so it may not have been addressed at all. It probably has nothing at all to do with laziness on Adobe's end, though they are unlikely to release a new version every time a newly discovered bug gets arises.

BUG: Dimensions Versioning Download Crash (ver 1.1.1.2.36.55.36)

Client Specs: 32 bit Windows XP (up to date), 4 gigs memory, 200 gigs free hard disk

What I did:
First, I cleaned out my source code directory and did a full get of our Java project from the Serena Dimensions window client.
Serena Dimensions Client result: 10,373 files. 2,354 folders.
Then, I cleaned out the folder again and started up Jdeveloper. I selected the Dimensions download option from the menu, typed in my pass and selected my project and directory. The recurse directory was on, and the other checkbox options were off. There was no hourglass or microhelp telling me it was doing anything, but it was downloading files. After a while, it threw back a Java exception, which is at the bottom of this post.
Jdeveloper result (after Java exception): 9,236 files. 2,090 folders. It looks like it almost made it, but not quite.
An extra data point: I tried this same test about 6 or 8 months ago with an earlier version of the Oracle Dimensions extension and it crashed then to. I thought I would give it another go to see if this problem was fixed. The Dimensions extension is a nice feature that Netbeans doesn't offer, but it doesn't look like it's quite there yet.

I'm confused now in regards to your empty folder theory.
Under my "versioning" menu, the top choice is "Version Application...", and the choice right under that is "Download...". I selected the "Download..." option. I never selected any option for the IDE to automatically make an application project for me.
As a recap, this is what I did.
*1)* I set up my projects in the application navigator. They compiled just fine.
*2)* In order to test the Dimensions extension....
*2a)* I cleared out all of the source code using the Windows file explorer.
*2b)* I went to the versioning menu and clicked on "Configure," and then turned off "Versioning Support for Subversion."
*2c)* I observed that only the Dimensions options now showed up in the versioning menu.
*2d)* I clicked on the second option from the top in the versioning menu: "Download..."
*2e)* It asked for my user/pass and project name. It also asked me where I wanted to download the source code to. It never said anything about automatically trying to set up a project in my application navigator. Just a straight download to the disk - that's all.
*2f)* I let it run for a while but it crashed about 90% of the way through the download process. See first post for the metrics.
*2g)* I got a warning saying that the IDE may be unstable at this point and it gave me the option to exit the IDE or continue anyway and ignore the exception (Save files and exit). I tested both, and neither option seemed to affect the choices I saw when I restarted JDeveloper.
In both cases, when I restarted JDeveloper, all I saw in the versioning menu was the "Download..." option. "Log in" was not enabled. I then went to my application navigator and expanded one of my java projects and highlighted a class that was downloaded in step 2f. I right clicked on the class, selected the versioning sub-menu, and logged in. I was then able to view the history and check it out.
My question is -- why would the download process fail if it hits an empty folder? Am I overlooking something obvious here or is there a bug in the product?
I'm not telling the tool to download a project or anything like that. Just download the source. I'm sure we have a couple of empty folders in the main project because people are working on a new area in the code (and are making the packages). In addition, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a folder here and there from years ago that's empty.

Bug Italian version iTunes 7.3

Some italian users reported a bug in songs' alphabetical order in iTunes 7.3.
An example:
The Author "Led Zeppelin" follows the author "The Cure" and it's followed by "David Bowie".
The Author "Iggy Pop" is between "George Michael" and "Gianna Nannini".
I think that iTunes does not consider "Led Zeppelin" as an entire word but as a word composed by "Le-d Zeppelin".
The same thing happens with "Iggy Pop", processed by iTunes as "I-ggy Pop".
That's because the italian words "Il" "Le" or "I" are sometimes wrogly considered as the definite article, like “The” in English, and therefore ignored in the alphabetical order.
The author "I Dik Dik" in fact is correctly ordered between "Dire Straits" and "Dido".

but the bug isn't fixed at all:
in Italy "i" is an article (plural) and then an english song like "I want more" is sorted as "Want More"
Moreover:
luckily you fixed the bug with italian, french and spanish articles, but unfortunately you've introduced another little bug (maybe just in the italian, french and spanish versions of iTunes 7.3.1): now artists like "The Beatles" are sorted under the letter T, where as in the former versions of iTunes were sorted without the english article.

Hot Sync bug in version desktop version 6.2.2

Approximately 10 days ago it was confirmed that there is a bug in this version of the desktop software which prevents 2 items, the sixth and seventh telephone number fields in the contacts database, to sync from the handheld device to the desktop. (Although it syncs from the desktop to the handheld device.) Also, these two fields do not print when data is put into these fields on the desktop.
Notwithstanding Palm issuing an update of the software, which I hope they do soon, I was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem, or if anyone possibly has an interim solution other than going back to install an older version of the software.
This problem also creates a significant issue when trying to store another copy of the contacts database on a second computer because none of the data entered in these 2 fields transfers to the second machine

I am having this same issue. I thought maybe it was a Centro issue, but your post implies it is a Palm Desktop 6.2.2 issue. I also posted this as a qustion but have not gotten a response. I also look forward to a patch or update. It does make me wonder if there are other fields that are exhibiting the same behavior.

I am using Samsung S Duos2 (GT-S7582). My mobile getting hang whenever I do video call and need to take off the battery to reboot the mobile. It seems its taking my mobile FULL RAM. In previous version 3.2.0.6673 it was somewhat ok. But new version is worst. In old version 3.2 other end user video was turned into blank after few minutes. But I can hear voice and my friend can get my video and also we both can able to hear both voice during the video call. But in version 4.5 mobile gets hanged after video call started and it forced to remove the battery and replace it to reboot. Please fix it and give update. I came to smartphone for Skype only. I need to make my skype work to keep touch with my office mates when I was not in office. Looking forward to hear from you people about the bug fix.

Get error message re: bug in version 9.0.1 that won't allow viewing or printing from some websites.

BC Vital Statistics website advised there was a problem with version 9.0.1 of Mozilla with printing documents. Today we tried printing .pdf documents in emails and although the printer is connected and working for other .pdf docs. nothing happens when we hit 'print' for these ones.
There's no URL for today's problem. This is .pdf doc in email that won't print.

Similar 404 message if we manually visit a non-existent .aspx page (we don't have any .aspx) But security scan does not report any troubles with .aspx.
One idea we are thinking is to adjust IIS by removing doc types we don't need like .jsp, .asp, .aspx.

Bug in version OS 4.1 for iphone

Hi
I have been having an absolute nightmare with my i-phone recently it has been getting no service coverage where I live, dropping calls, calls going straight through to voice mail with out even ringing generally not doing the phone function.
My biggest frustration of course is No Service. My carrier here in the UK is 02 who I have called a lot about this issue... we have run all the diagnostics known to man and it still will not work where I live.
I have now just been told that the OS 4.1 has some bugs which is why I am experiencing these problems???
Can anyone help or offer any suggestions???.... I love my i phone, but it really would be cool if I use it as a phone again

Has O2 given you a new SIM? You could have a bad SIM. If a new SIM doesn't correct the issue, the next step would be a trip to the Genius Bar to get the phone checked.

T400 BIOS bug in version 7UET79WW (3.09 )

I have a T400 (2767AG8) and run Win 7 64. Before I've upgraded to Win 7, I've updated my BIOS to version 7UET79WW (3.09 ). As before the update, I made sure to disable various devices which I do not use to speed up my notebook start. Among the disabled devices are Intel AMT and the Ricoh CardBus controller. But Windows still detects these devices. This suggests that the BIOS does not correctly disable these devices.
Is the issue known?

I have the same problem with a T400 upgraded to the latest BIOS V3.12. Intel AMT is disabled in the BIOS, yet I still get a "PCI Simple Communications" device in Device Manager without a driver. Even if I disable this device, I still am prompted for a driver each time I boot the computer.

Bug in Version 7.5!!! Quit Skype not working in skype version 7.5!

Hey! Any one facing this same issue?I am using windows 7 ultimate x64 and the skype version 7.5 wont close by "Quit Skype". I have to manually kill it from the task manager. I downgraded to 6.0 version and it works fine.Fix it developers!!!Thanks.

Try to reset all Skype settings. Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder. Restart Skype. N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.
