Is it a error in MinimalHTMLWriter (bold, italic attributes)?

Does anybody have the next error on html generation with MinimalHTMLWriter -
I have a formated text in StyledDocument, that has to be in html like this : "normal text bold text normal text", but after MinimalHTMLWriter work it looks like this - "normal text bold text normal text" (second "normal text" is bold too...)
I think that it is a error in

Hi,
The bold and Italic in Text Layout Framework is not working on Linux with Flash Player 10.1.85.3. Please verify at this link http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/textlayout/demos/ on Linux, by trying to do bold & italic to some text.
is this a problem with Flash Player 10 ?

The Bold/Italic variant of the font should be present on the client's machine. Now I am finding solution to how to display the fonts which Bold/Italic variant are not present on the client's machine. One way can be embedding the fonts. Anythings else?

How to use Baskerville bold italic font in iOS?

So I want to use bold italic Baskerville. No matter what I do, it always shows up as regular in the device (without bold or italic). My code works fine on desktop.
I've tried using TextFormat class properties, which work for fonts like Georgia or Helvetica, but it doesn't for Baskerville.
textFormat.font = "Georgia";
textFormat.bold = true;
textFormat.italic = true;
I've also tried using the official iOS name of the font which is "Baskerville-BoldItalic" nothing.
I've listed all the fonts using this
var allFonts:Array = Font.enumerateFonts(true);
And it only lists the regular fonts, no bold or italic versions.
Any ideas on how to make Baskerville render in bold or/and italic?

Prob with chinese font bold, italic... in PDF report

Hello everyone ! :D
My symptoms (overview) : to create my RDF report, I'm using a font, simsun.ttf, wich allow me to view chineses and french characters. Everything is ok, except in PDF format, all the items remains in "normal" style.
My configuration : Windows NT4 SP6a
Report Builder 9.0.4.2
Acrobat Reader 7.0
Oracle Database 9.2.0.6
In Detail : in report builder, every items (text fields, labels,...) are directly created with SimSun font. Some items are bold, some italic, ...
If i generate the report in RTF format, my items bold, italic, ... are ok in Microsoft Word (SimSun Bold, ...). However, if i generate the report in PDF format, everything is in "normal" style.
I changed the file UIFONT.ALI like this :

Obviously, with an Arial font, we can map the different files Arialb.ttf, Arialbi.ttf, ... according to the desired font style we want, but with SimSun font, there is only one file : SimSun.ttf.
Obviously, i have no choice for the font... I have to use SimSun.
Anyway, if i take a look at my PDF, the used fonts (in file>property>fonts>) i can see several personnalized fonts, each one corresponding to a SimSun style (one for SimSun, Bold, an other for SimSun, BoldItalic, ...) but everything is the same style on screen.
Does somebody have an idea??

I have one sugestion,Inf you PDF file go to file>Document Properties>fonts
chech that if tyep is TYPE3 and font is CUSTOM then it is using subsetting ,and if not then report is using pdfs default font and it is not using required font

Arial Narrow Bold, Italic and Bold Italic are missing in CC 2014.

I have been trying to fix the mess Adobe and Microsoft did with the Arial Narrow font and no luck. I am on Windows 7 64, fully updated, running the CC 2014. The font Arial Narrow Regular shows as part of the Arial family. No problem there. However the variations: Arial Narrow Bold, Arial Narrow Bold Italic and Arial Narrow Italic do not show anywhere in Illustrator and Photoshop (2014). I am afraid of trying InDesign and breaking down in tears when they show nowhere there too. So frustrating!
Heads up: these solutions do not work: Arial Narrow unavailable, incomplete | CS applications | Windows and Description of the 2007 Office hotfix package (Gfonts.msp): August 26, 2008. Don't bother listing them as references on your answer. Thanks in advance.
The one thing I was not able to try was installing the Arial Narrow family that came with Windows XP because I don't have Windows XP!! Does anyone know where one can download those files from?
Any other ideas on how to fix that bug?

I understand your frustration with this. Sorry in advance if I'm repeating anything you've already tried...
It sounds like you've already copied the fonts into the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts folder.
If you haven't copied them into the InDesign Fonts folder, you'll need to do that as well.
Copy:
ARIALN.TTF
ARIALNB.TTF
ARIALNBI.TTF
ARIALNI.TTF
from C:\Windows\Fonts or C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts
into C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS5\Fonts
Substitute in the appropriate indesign fonts folder if your directory structure is different from mine.
As you're probably aware, if they're installed correctly they will only show up as variants of the Arial font:
If this doesn't work, you might want to see if there is a hotfix for "2003 Microsoft Office System" (instead of the 2007 hotfix discussed in the prior thread you posted in). Keep in mind that the office 2007 hotfix actually patched the font files themselves, so I don't know if there's a patch for the office 2003 fonts.

I can add this: and I think you see the smiley-- but I cannot use the "B" bold button to make a selection of text bold; nor any other features for emphasis-- and cannot even get the Preview window to open.
Is this a technical problem or me?

How to Set Bold/Italic/Underline attributes to Paragraphs

Could any body give a solution to the following problem
I'm writing a small Html Editor, there I'm supporting bold/italic/underline. The problem is I wanna want to display the bold,italic and underline without adding bold/italic and underline tags.
What I mean to say is suppose if you want to display some text in bold you'll write like the following
 Sample For bold 
The above text will display as bold in the HTMLEditorKit, but I want to display bold without adding bold tag in it. i.e something like this

What I want is Can we display bold,italic and underline with paragraph attributes?

Hi,
XML isn't supposed to contain display information. It's
common use to seperate content and appearance, so that the XML
contains only the data, and the display information is defined in
an extra file, a XSL or a CSS document.
Now for your question: what do you have in mind with your xml
files? I think Flash doesn't display raw xml, only html in html
enabled textfields. If you want to store html in a xml file, you
have to escape the special characters that form the xml (and also
html) markup, otherwise the tags will get parsed as another xml
tag, or the parsing may fail completely. There are some predefined
replacements:
& (&)
< (<)
> (>)
' (')
" (")
So you could use it like this:
<link url="<a
href="www.domain.org">linktext</a>"
/>
The parser should generate this from that line:
<link url="<a
href="www.domain.org">linktext</a>" />
You see that this screws up the xml's tag order, that's why
you have to use the escaped expressions. Then you could assign the
value of the 'url' attribute of the 'link' node to a html enabled
textfield, which would display it as a normal link.
FYI, Flash parses atrributes of a node faster than content (=
the stuff between opening and ending tag), so it's a good idea to
have the data stored in the attributes.

Where is the toolbar that has bold, italic and underline icons?

Customizing does not have a bold, italic, or underline icons. I need these.

Firefox doesn't have a toolbar that include such buttons. 
The editor on the web page need to supply such buttons just like you see on this forum just above the text area where you enter a reply.

The Bold, Italic, Underline functions have disappeared from the screen as have the check boxes at the beginning of the intro line

The bold, italic, underline, color hi-lite and other boxes in that line suddenly disappeared from the screen and that section remains blank. However when writing a new message if I mouse over the area the boxes re-appear but without their previous alliterations. Also the system does not allow me to color hi-lite text and shows all the colors in a very fuzzy format when I mouse over where the hi-lite box used to be. Additionally the check box at the front of the email subject line has also disappeared but, again, if I mouse over & click it will perform a delete or other function. Need help!

According to your description, there are two text boxes at the bottom of the tablix and both of them are outside the tablix. When you export the report to excel, the upper text box could not be displayed.
Microsoft Excel places limitations on exported reports due to the capabilities of Excel and its file formats. The following limitations apply to text boxes and text:
Text box values that are expressions are not converted to Excel formulas.
Text boxes are rendered within one Excel cell.
The text effect "Overline" is not supported in Excel.
Excel adds a default padding of approximately 3.75 points to the left and right sides of cells. If a text box’s padding settings are less than 3.75 points and is just barely wide enough to accommodate the text, the text may wrap in Excel.
To troubleshoot the problem, please make sure that the text box meet the limitations. In addition, please validate that visibility of the text box is set to true, it’s better to set CanGrow property of text box to false.
If the problem remain unresolved, i would appreciate it if you could give us detailed information about the report, I would be appreciated it if you could provide sample data and screenshot of the report. It will help us move more quickly toward a solution.

Underline, bold, italic - how to solve problems in Pages?

Whenever I jump to a new line in Pages, it does not immediately allow me to underline or make my text bold or italic. The problem is the same whether I click the buttons (B, I, U) on the Format-toolbar or use the shortcuts (cmd + B, I, U). However, if I write a letter first, it then allows me to make the rest of the word bold, italic or underlined.

If I first write the word, highlight it and then make it bold, italic or underlined there is no problem.
Would appreciate any help.

I can't replicate the problem but you are mongst several users who have reported this.
Pages 5 is simply beta and probably should not have been released.
You should have Pages '09 or '08 in your Applications/iWork folder, if you had it before.
Best to trash or archive Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store.

Any bright individual have an idea where I can find this font?

I found a folder titled 13 with en_US after it, moved it, did nothing....
That is not the folder in question. I believe you should move it back.
Presuming you have CS3, the folder name should be Adobe Illustrator CS3 Settings.
Similar for other versions from CS on.
Can you access the Arial Bold Italic, and other styles, in other applications? If so, the issue is in Illy. If not, something may be missing in the Fonts folder (Window speak, I do not know the folder name in Mac), but that is more unlikely.

Error when reading master data attribute in transformation

Hi All,
I have 0employee in source DSO and it is mapped to Cube transformation correctly.. There are other objects in cube which are the attribute of 0employee master... I map 0employee to these objects and in transformation i select read from master data then it throws up an error...
bold S:RSTRAN:556 39 0EMPLGROUP 01 Standard Group 0EMPLOYEE
Dont know why this error is popping up ...
Any pointers on this...

Hi,
This is a strange error that everybody faces but you can try this way.
1) select the target object Employee attribute in the transformation
2) assign the source field in the transformation. the source field should be 0EMPID
3) In this source field there is a coulmn called IOASSIGNMENT. Type 0EMPID at that point
4) change the rule type from direct assignment to master data attribute. Now you can select the field 0EMPID.
