Is it possible to build pop-up menu on nav bar in a
template??
There is anybody who built pop-up menu on nav bar in a
template, made changes to the pop-up menu and successfully updated
the pop-up menu in all files that are generated from the template?
I wanted to do this, but failed. So, I would appreciate your tips
if you have done that successfully.

I have. It's so troublesome, awkward, and arcane, I don't
suggest anyone
use these menus.

  • Smart way to auto update pop-up menu in nav bar?

Smart way to keep updating pop-up menu in Nav bar ?
I created a template in DW 8. It is used to generate many
other pages for the site. only the page content region is editable.
There is a nav bar in the template. Some buttons of the nav bar
display pop-up menu when MouseOver . Those pop-up menu need to be
changed from time to time. What is the best way to automatically
update the pop-up menu in those templated-generated files, using
template (I tried to define the nav bar as editable region,
modified the pop-ups and saved the template. I got a lots of
unexpected problems, DW8 even crashed), using libray items or
something else? I am a relatively new DW developer. Much appreciate
    if someone could help.

If the navigation is in a non-editable region of the
    template, then changes
to it will propagate automatically to all child pages - are
    you not seeing
    that happen?
    > I tried to define the nav bar as editable region
You wouldn't usually want to do that.
    > I got a lots of unexpected problems, DW8 even
    > crashed
You must have made other errors. Doing something like this
    would surely not
    crash DW.
The only problem with having the navigation in the
    non-editable region of
the template is that a change to it will touch *every* file
    in the site,
each of which must then be uploaded again. To solve this
    problem you can
use server-side includes for the navigation. Then you would
    make your
change to the include file, upload it, and all pages would
    reflect that
    change.

  • Application Builder removing the menu and tool bar

In Labview 8 we can use the application builder to disable the tool bar on the VI when during the build. Under Labview 8.2, the source file setting no longer affects the menu and tool bar of the top level VI. In my particuliar case, I want to remove the ability of a user to abort the VI from running after the application build, but I want the abort ability during the debugging phase.
Under Labview 8.2, you have to alter the custom window for the VI. In the previous version, you can do it on the build module.

Have you tried to set the properties of the Main VI being built?  It should default to these settings but you can still change them.  See attached picture from 8.20

hi people, can anyone tell whether one has the possibility in numbers, the entries in the pop-up menu to sort alphabetically me

    Hi Dieter,
Your profile shows Mac OS X (10.6.8) so it seems you are using Numbers version 2.x
Numbers 2 does not have the ability to sort Pop-Up Menu entries (except by a painful process of adding or subtracting entries in Inspector).
Numbers 3 makes Pop-Up Menus a breeze. But it is your choice whether to update to OS X Mavericks and Numbers 3 . Some features have been lost, other features have been added, and there are some workarounds.
Have a look at these threads before you decide:

  • Is it possible to create a pop-up menu with sub-headings

I am trying to setup a pop-up menu in Number that would give me the ability to first create subheadings, that I can then enter my selection list in.
    Example:
    Subheading 1
         eg 1
         eg 2
         eg 3
    Subheading 2
         eg 1
         eg 2
         eg 3
    Subheading 3
         eg 1
         eg 2
         eg 3
I did try to search for a solution to this, but nothing came up that I recognized quickly.  So, I'm hopeful that someone out there in the Apple community has a quick work-around for acomplishing this.
    Thanks,

Strictly speaking this i not possible.  You could precede each entry that is indented with a space to make the menu appead to have sub entries.

  • Building chapter index menu within DVDSP4...possible?

I am trying to build an index menu from my video track, but so far I haven't been able to. My video track is 15 short pieces each with audio and each butted to the next. At each start, I created a Chapter Marker in the track editor. What I would like to do is take that "marked" track and create a chapter index menu from it - is that possible? If so, how? Thanks!

Hi - welcome to the discussions!
What you need to do is go to the outline view and click on the track icon, then drag it in to the menu editor window. Just hold it there for a second until the menu appears and select the appropriate option to create the menus. You will then be asked to choose a style from the built in templates and DVDSP will do the rest for you, including adding the next and previous buttons to move between the menus (if more than one is needed).

  • Switching tables with a pop-up menu??

Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to switch tables in a cell through a pop-up menu. To be more specific I have a pop-up menu in cell B9 and a table in E9 that works with the B9 pop-up. The table in E9 is A1-B30. I would like to make another pop-up that has 3 items in it that would switch out the table in E9 to reflect what has been chosen in the new pop-up. The info in B9 can stay the same. From playing around I have learned that you can not have the same cells in a table referenced if you have 2 pop-ups on the same sheet, you have to alter your table slightly to make it work. Any chance on this?
    Thanks
    Peter

I'm getting lost on the switching out part. You need to explain in more detail what you expect to happen. Switching out means nothing in a spreadsheet (at least in standard terminology).
What specifically happens when you change the new pull down?
You wrote "The table in E9 is A1-B30. " Huh? That looks like an equation, not a table. Plus you cannot store a tabel in a cell.
If you intend that the cell E9 has something like =My Table:: a1- My Table ::b30
And you want the MYTable part to change to a different table name, then you can use the address and Index functions to do this. Have address build the cell reference into a string referenceing your pull downs and the index takes that string and uses it like a standard equation.
    Something like this:
    =index(address(1,1,,,B10))-index(address(2,30,,b10))
This would takt the cell A1 on whatever sheet was selected in B10 drop down and subtract cell B30 from that same sheet.

  • Can I have a pop down menu on the left and then text fields directly to the right? I can only get them to be one above the other.

    Hi All,
I am building a form and would like to create a pop down menu on the left (and ideally with the options being colour boxes boxes but this does not seem possible), and then have three text separated text lines on the right of the pop down menu for notes related to the pop down choices.
Do you know if this is possible?
    Thanks,
    Matt

It sounds like you're creating the form in FormsCentral. You have limited options in the FormsCentral designer as far as layout. You can place multiple fields on a line, or one field per line. If you create the design/layout in a program like InDesign or Word, generate a PDF, and add the fields form in Acrobat, you have complete flexibility over the placement of the fields.
The items in a dropdown field are limited to text that are all the same color.

  • Pop up menu on right clicking an image?

    Hello,
    I am new to LabWindows/CVI.
Requirement: "To get a pop-up menu on right clicking on image"
Right now, I display my images in window numbers (0 - 15). Is it possible to be able to get a pop-up menu on right clicking an image window. If yes, how? If not, could you please suggest other methods to achieve this task? Should I display the image in a separate parent panel for example? How could I do this?
    Any help would be great.
    Cheers

I would use the code generator for right click event. then fill it up with whatever code you want under right click case. You can access these when you double click your UIR file, then on the top of the page click Code\Preferences\Default... then choose desired events for picture then go to Code\Generate\all callbacks and skip through the ones you don't want to be replaced.

  • Best way to create pop-up menu's

    Hi All,
I have been having a heck of a time doing something that i
would have assumed to be relatively simple - specifically creating
    a pup-up menu.
My first set of approach was to dynamically create a movie
clip on a button rollover, and within that movieclip create several
other movie clips that i then assigned actions too. The problem was
that since i applied a action on "rollout" on the initial movie
clip, it became a button, and as such all of the sub
movieclips/buttons became in active (any click was only detected on
    the parent).
My second set of attempts have been around the MenuComponent
(see other posts), but here too i have hit problems, initially with
animation and depth. I solved the animation issue, but the depth
    problem remains.
Now, i see pop-up menu's everywhere, so i assume that this is
a relatively simple problem - so what am i missing. A google search
showed up lots of examples of how to do using menu that are created
in the UI (rather than purely in AS), using purchased components.
The first case is not an option since i need to create it fully
dynamically, the second would be an option - however i typically
need a far greater level of visual control than off the shelf
components provide (hence i have needed to build up my own class
    library for many common tasks).
So after all that, i have a simple question.
"What is the best way to create a dynamic popup menu in
    AS2?"
    Regards
    Neil

I guess you want to make your own popup menu, if I understand
correctly. Nothing simpler, your first attempt was in the right
direction, you just don't assign button actions to the parent clip,
because you won't get the child clips to work, but add another
child at the lowest level inside the parent, that acts as a
    "background" clip/button.
And for the rollout for the entire popup, you can add a
transparent clip just under the popup (which is at the currently
topmost depth) covering the entire stage, give it rollover that
acts as your rollout, and make it not use the hand currsor, so you
    can't tell it's there.
That's how I do it, anyways..

  • Pop-up menu feature and IE issues

I am using Firework MX 2004, Version 7.0 Build 288, to create drop down menus using the “Pop-up Menu” feature. The pop-up menus that I create work great in Netscape and Firefox, but fair in IE 6.0. The pop-up menus appear under certain elements such as select boxes in IE 6.0. I have read and tried some of the solutions on Blogs in regard to setting the z-index in div tags, but to no avail. Any help or work around would be greatly appreciated! Unfortunately, the huge company I work at switched from Netscape to IE 6.0 as the corporate platform, and I don’t have the patients to upgrade Fireworks if that is the solution. The last time I upgraded from Fireworks 4 toFirework MX 2004 the Macromedia Tech Support area had to e-mail me special registry entries for the product registration to work, and it took a very long time. I still have the emails to remind me of the pain. Thanks William!

    I found this:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/158/tn_15842.html
    And this:
Fireworks generated html and javascript calls its layers with a z-index beggining with a value of 1. Try doing a search of text external JS file and you will see your menus.
I would rename the offending layer that runs over the top of the menu layers in the with z-index:0
    Also this:  http://www.adobe.com/devnet/fireworks/articles/fw8_popups.html
Hope something here works, that being said...the menus from that version arenb't very good. a better solution is CSS menus. A quick solution is from Project Seven here:http://projectseven.com/products/menusystems/pmm2/index.htm for $95. It's a DW extension and simple to use. Alkso compatiple with most browsers.

May have something to do with whether or not the URL can be reached while building your widget.  I've got a video on the web. When I enter the URL into the field for the video object and click to another field,  the URL is replaced with some text indicating that it is accessing the video then updates itself to displaying just the name of the video file.
It shows just fine in preview and I can see the full path to the video when I export the widget so it should work for you.
Is the video accessible from your Mac while you're laying out your widget?

  • Pop-up Menu is aligned with the top of the window in IE7

Using Fireworks MX I created a pop-up menu on an image I

You'll need to place the menu in its final position in
    Fireworks, and
then build your page around it in Dreamweaver. A better
    option would be
to build the menu yourself from scratch. You can learn how to
    do that here:

  • Pop-up Menu in the Table

I have a problem with a pop up menu in the table control. Currently, I have set my table to HOT and i have 3 columns in my table which are set to Indicator, which allows me to select/highlight the cell but yet dosen't change the content in the cell.
But when i highlight let's say 3 cells in the same column and right click, a popup menu appears with 3 functions. Goto, Find and sort. I think this came together with the table control. I would like to disable the sort function as it rearranges the cell which are highlighted but not the rest of the cells in the next 2 columns. In my case this is not very good for me as all 3 columns are related to each other like column 1 = Name, column 2 = value, etc... Is it possible to disable to the sort function??
    Cheers
    AL

It seems strange to me that the built-ion popup menu appears after your own menu is displayed: how are you displaying your popup menu? If you are using RunPopupMenu to handle the right-click event and display your menu it is possible that it fires the built-in menu also.
If you don't need the built-in popup menu you do not need to remove every single item from it: you can use SetCtrlAttribute (panelHandle, PANEL_TABLE, ATTR_ENABLE_POPUP_MENU, 0); instead.
In every case, this is a control attribute: you must isse this line for every single table you want to customize: SetAttributeForCtrls ( ) from the Programmer'sToolbox is very useful in this matter.
As already mentioned in this thread, to add items to the built-in menu you can use NewCtrlMenuItem ()
Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.
