Again i m writing my question
Is it possible to convert Java to EXE and run this EXE file without any JRE if yes then how... tell me the procedure to do that...Vipul wrote:

By creating a native executable you are restricting the program to the OS for which that native executable was made, just like removing the engine from a car restricts driving to downhill only. So like the I said, the principle remains the same, "Why would you want to?"
I am asking you, truthfully, why do you feel the need to negate the largest advantage of using Java by creating a native executable from it?
What is your rationale?
I can pretty much guarantee there is a much better way of achieving your wish without "removing the engine". -
Convert Adobe Form to SMARTFORM
Hi,
is it possible to convert a form created with adobe form builder to a SMARTFORM document?
I need to upload a PDF or DOC document into a SMARTFORM. This seems not to be possible. So I used Adobe for this upload. But now I can't convert it to a SMARTFORM document...
Can this problem solved?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks and regards
GabrielHi Gabriel,
as far as I know, SAP does not deliver any tools to support conversion between smartforms and pdfs ... I did it manually, which is a pain in the neck ...

user591884There is no automatic way to do this in JDeveloper. I know there are some Oracle Partners offering forms to java conversion, I don't know how much of their tools are automated and done with JDeveloper. With JDeveloper+ADF you basically rewriting the Forms application from scratch (and using ADF is helpful during this process).

Is it possible to convert *.doc to *.rtf in a java program?
Hi :-)
My challenge is to develop a web-app in ADF Faces. Now i verify some technologies to store mailmerge letters in an easy way. The user of my web-app should upload a MS Word mailmerge document and a csv data source file. My web-app must thereupon convert this two files to a pdf per csv-row and store it to a ftp.
I have build a demo using the open office API. But now i want to try the same by using apache POI and FOP. I can merge the doc files with POI and i can create PDF with FOP.
My problem is, that POI cant convert to a rtf file and FOP uses an rtf file to create a pdf. I dont know, if its possible to convert a doc file to a rtf file. If its possible, is there an API, which will help me out?
Regards
Majo
btw...I am not sure, if its the right forum for my question :-/HeHe, no sorry. The binary file is the same, because Windows bind doc and rtf with MS Word, it opens the file, which you have renamed to *.rtf in MS Word. But as a doc document, not as a rtf file ;-)
And i dont want to open the rtf file in MS Word. I want to process the rtf file in java.
Thanks

Converting oracle forms into java forms
Hi all,,
would help me plz on how to convert oracle forms into java using any tool;
Is Jheadstart is the tool,, im having jeveloper version 10.1.2.1.0There are at least two companies that are marketing Forms to Java conversion tools. I'm sure that a good Google search will locate them, and they are frequent exhibitors at Oracle-oriented conferences like Collaborate and ODTUG Kaleidoscope. But there are problems associated with doing this. I urge anyone who is considering such a project to read this article by Grant Ronald: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/10gR2/formsmigration.pdf
You should carefully ask yourself and your clients and management, "Why do you want to do this?", "What benefits are you trying to realize?", "Does this make sense, and are there other options that we should be exploring?"
For instance, many people are trying to protect themselves because "Forms is going away". Oracle has stated again and again that Forms is NOT going away. In fact the recent Fusion Middleware 11g release included a new version of Forms with some significant enhancements. You may do very well just by upgrading to the latest version of Forms.
If you do decide that it still makes sense to convert, I suggest that rather that converting, you may want to redevelop from scratch. Keep the database if it is well designed - a well designed, stable database will outlast any front end that you may use against it. Then take full advantage of the capabilities of your new toolset, and leave behind the limitations and inapplicable methodologies of your old one. Oh, by the way, don't use JDeveloper 10.1.2. Use 11g if you can, or 10.1.3.5 if you must. -

I realize English is probably not your first language, but you are not really making sense. Perhaps you could use more words and write in more detail.
It seems you already have your script in AppleScript. Why do you need to convert it to JavaScript?
It's going to be inconvenient at best and probably not worth anyone's time.
Just use the AppleScript. -
having viewed an earlier post in this forum i managed to create the following code but am having a few problems.
here are the active parts of the html form on googles search, engine. i am trying to convert this into java form and have so far succeeeded in generating the code shown below, but keep getting the following error
"IOException; Server returned HTTP response code: 501 for URL: http://www.google.co.uk/search"
the form:
<form action=/search name=f>
<input type=hidden name=hl value=en>
<input maxlength=2048 size=55 name=q value="" title = "Google Search">
<input type=submit value="Google Search" name=btnG>
<input type=submit value="I'm Feeling Lucky" name=btnI>
</form>
in the following code baseURL is the domain of the server... in this case http://www.google.co.uk/, method is the method as defined in the form method attirbute, if the attribute is not there, as in this form the default method is called which is GET
URL url;
HttpURLConnection urlConn;
DataOutputStream printout;
BufferedReader input;
if(action.startsWith("http")) {
url = new URL(action);
} else if(action.startsWith("/")) {
url = new URL(baseURL+action.substring(1,action.length()));
} else {
url = new URL(baseURL+action);
urlConn = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
urlConn.setDoInput(true);
urlConn.setDoOutput(true);
urlConn.setUseCaches(false);
// set request method
urlConn.setRequestMethod(method);
// set request type
urlConn.setRequestProperty("Content-Type",
"application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
// data-value pairs are separated by &
String content ="hl=en&q="
// imitate someone searching for "hello" in i feel lucky
content+="hello&btnI=I'm Feeling Lucky";
urlConn.setRequestProperty("Content-Length", content.length() + "");
// Send POST output.
printout = new DataOutputStream(urlConn.getOutputStream());
printout.writeBytes(content);
printout.flush();
printout.close();
// Get response data.
input = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(urlConn.getInputStream()));
String str;
while (null != ((str = input.readLine())))
System.out.println(str);
input.close();
} catch (MalformedURLException me) {
System.err.println("MalformedURLException; " + me);
} catch (IOException ioe) {
System.err.println("IOException; " + ioe.getMessage());
ioe.printStackTrace();
}i also tried self adding in the question mark that appears after the search text bu again get the same error. any ideas what im doing wrong when connecting to the server? thanks in advance for any helpJust saw this topic on the forum,
For each web crawlers the web sites maintain a file called Robots.txt which can be assessed by : http://www.google.co.uk/robots.txt
You would see following on that file :
User-agent: *
Allow: /searchhistory/
Disallow: /search
Disallow: /groups
which means that crawlers are not allowed to scrap this site on search, due to which our code wasnt working

Convert Oracle Forms into Java (swing & JSP's)
Dear All,
We are currently in the process of evaluating our upgrade of system, which is using forms 4.5. One of the options we are considering at this stage is converting all forms into Java program. I am currently doing some pilot work on this project. I am using FormsWizard, a product of InformatikAtelier Gmbh, along with Forms 6i and Jdeveloper 9i. Has any one done this before in this group? Your assistance is much appreciated.

Michael Sesuraj.

Sun Certified Java 2 ProgrammerGrant, Thanks for that mail. It was very useful article. The article has lots of brilliant points consider. I may have to discuss with our System Architect. With my experience in both forms and Java, it is hard to justify the business benefit out of this conversion. We are a strong Oracle house and have no intention of moving towards J2EE at this stage.. Thanks once again.

Adobe acrobat java sdk is available? if yes then its possible to convert pdf to word
adobe acrobat java sdk is available ? if yes then its possible to convert pdf to word(doc)
There is little interest in automating Acrobat with Java, since it cannot be run on a server. On a client workstation, OLE is available, and perhaps Java can use that.
(JavaScript is of course another story). -
How can i convert java application of bibeans to java applet?
Hi Bibeans PMTeam,
Bibeans provide two type client:java application and web client(JSP/Servlet),because web client's function is weaker than java app,so we want to convert java app to java applet,thus,we can embed java applet into web browser(our system framework is in web browser).
That is,we want one applet client that commution with a server side service(can by socket,just like oracle 9i form service)that provide the data that applet need,or the applet connect to olap server and bibeans catalog server by socket(this need security authentication if olap server,bibeans catalog,web server is not in one machine).
so we need you provide whole resolve scheme,thanks a lot,if this answer is not clarity,please connect:[email protected],thanks a lot!hi tomsong
well, in my experience 20mb are quite large for an applet. also take into account that you need a certain jvm that supports this type of application (my guess is that internet explorers native vm isnt an option)
i personally would tend to deliver the functionality via java webstart (look at the sunsite):so you can centrally manage the software, download it once and opertae an application on your client (i mean an APPLICATION and not an applet)
regarding 2: well but there is NO bibean service in ias: so you have to open the former mentioned jdbc connection to the olap service from your client
for the availability: you have to check with the pm team
in the meantime: what about the following approach: give power users a java application and lightweight or random users a handy html client ?

How to convert oracle forms in j2ee platform
hi,
i want to know how can i convert oracle forms into j2ee platforms. if is it possible then please tell me the steps that i need to follow .
thxsWhat you are asking is a bit like "how can I convert a dishwasher into a washing machine".
If you want to know the the steps I would say.
1) Work out what kind of washing machine you want to convert to
2) Learn the technical details of that washing machine
3) Rearchitect your diswasher plans so it fits into the "model" of a dishwasher
4) Now spend lots of time money and effort doing it.
Now, I don't know if thats going to help you. But if you tell us the WHY it might help formulate a response
