  • Administration of Queues (GUI / command line)

    hi *,
since i am working with JMQ now for a few weeks one thing bothers me most about the software....
i could not find out since now if there is any administration GUI / command line interface that enables me to do very typical things in one tool:
    create / delete queues
    create / delete messages
    look into messages & properties
    etc...
is there any or am i missing the point? how do several customers deal with this issue?
    regards chris

First, thanks to you both for spending your time writing a response.
We really wouldn't need this in production, this is more for testing each step of our translations.
We actually do most of our IQmanager management through stcmsctrlutil.exe, though I do know we were looking at the management console through JCAPS as maybe an alternate solution for working with OpenMQ (it turned out to not be the case, and didn't research it any further). We weren't using the JMS API for OpenMQ to test any of the JMS functionalities.
We haven't really thought of dumping or teeing the messages to put them back in the system (though we have had to do that before in our old SRE system in production, it was a mess). What I'm doing through scripts is pulling a message off at each JMS destination (after every translation) and storing it in a folder. I do the same for our old system (we're migrating from SRE --> JCAPS 6) and comparing the XML to make sure the translations are identical. We're a pretty small team, so we don't use any products like LISA or any testing suites, just a bunch of homegrown tools that do exactly what we need.
It sounds like the private API will give us the needed functionality.
When we're not on such a tight deadline for regression testing, I'll sit down and re-do all of the regression tools to work with OpenMQ, even if I have to change everything to queues, develop it using more JCAPS components (for pulling messages off and dumping them to the file system), or even use the unsupported API. Until then, we'll just do our unit testing on IQManager and our load testing on OpenMQ.
big thanks from my team at Yum,

  • Is it possible to launch SAP GUI (not webGui for windows) from UWL

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to launch a transaction or document in SAP GUI (not WebGUI for windows) from UWL? If yes - how do I achieve that?
    Appreciate your help.
    Giri.

    Hi,
Yes, you can create an SAP transaction iview and open that iview. Refer  following link for task launch :

  • Is this possible: SNC connection from SAP GUI to SAP Router, and ...

    Hi,
    I have (stupid perhaps) question.
    Is this scenario possible:
SNC connection from SAP GUI to SAP Router, and non-SNC connection from SAP Router to SAP System.
I know how to set up scenario like this:
    SAP System --- (non-SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (non-SNC conn) --- SAP GUI.
    Best regards,
    Marek Majchrowski

    Wolfgang,
To be sure myself and Marek understand, can you confirm the different scenarios supported:
    Scenario 1:
    SAP GUI --- (non SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (non-SNC conn) --- SAP System
With this scenario, it would be possible for a user to logon using SAP GUI onto the SAP System, but without SAP GUI SNC.
    Scenario 2:
    SAP GUI --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (non SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (SNC conn) --- SAP System
With this scenario it would be possible to logon to the SAP System using SAP GUI, and using SNC authentication.
Also, with this scenario the SAP GUI software and SAP System software would consider this to be similar to:
SAP GUI -- (SNC conn) -- SAP System
    Scenario 3:
This is the scenario mentioned by Marek in his initial question:
SAP GUI -- (SNC conn) -- saprouter1 -- (non SNC conn) -- SAP System
With this scenario it will not be possible to logon to SAP System using SNC, and only possible if the SAP GUI is configured to not use SNC. In other words the SNC connection between SAP GUI and saprouter1 is available, but cannot be used.
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • Is it possible to install two GUI version on same server??

    Hi all,
I am facing a typical problem.
I am using ECC 6.0 on Solaris server and accessing through CITRIX where SAP GUI 6.4 is installed.
I have got Internet Explorer 7.
Some dumps are cumming like message_server_x
Then I went for SAP GUI 7.1 in which error is not cumming.
There is only one CITRIX server at this moment and users from all the location is using through this on live system. They are not getting such issue.
But we the new project team is getting this issue of dump.
Now the question is whether it is possible to install SAP GUI 7.1 seperately on the same CITRIX server where SAP GUI 6.4 is running???
    Thanks in Advance
    Souren

I do not have knowledge in the field of CITRIX metaframe, i'm only can advise you read about the
"Application Isolation Environment" (AIE) --> For example read in http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX109664
. May be it's help you. The best way update your 640 version. Regards.

    Hi All,
Is it possible to restrict ITS mobile users to access the backend only via ITS?
Right now they can use ITS mobile screens and at the same time logon to the system via SAP GUI.
Could you please advise is it possible to block SAP GUI?
    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hi Adam,
You can try to change the user type to Communication. With this user type, the user cannot logon to system via sapgui but can via http.

  • Command Line Parameters for Silent Install with Status for BI4.0 Products

For the XI3.1 product installations, which clearly leveraged MSIEXEC installation files, it was possible to use the /qb+ command line parameter to trigger a silent install which showed the progress of the installation with a final prompt to acknowledge the completion of the installation.
For the new BI4.0 installation package, it's not clear how to trigger a silent installation which also shows the installation progress.  The installation guide describes using -q in the command line to run a silent installation, or leveraging a response.ini file to trigger a silent install, but in neither case does it show how to modify the silent installation command to enable a display of the installation progress.
Does anyone know the syntax, either command line or embedded in a response.ini file, to trigger a silent installation for the BI4.0 products which ALSO shows the progress of the installations?
    Thanks,
    Josh

Yes, I've tried the same switch that I used for the XI3.1 installations, namely "/qb".  In XI3.1 I was able to use this switch either directly in the MSIEXEC command line or in the Response.ini file as "QUIET=/qb".  In either case, this switch resulted in a silent install that showed a progress bar window for the installation, completing with a confirmation prompt indicating that the installation had completed.
Neither approach works with the BI4.0 installation packages.  My suspicion is that SAP has switched to a different installation engine as I can't find the typical .msi installation files that would indicate this is a MSIEXEC installation.  I'm hoping someone knows what type of installation engine is being used and what the switching syntax is for silent installs. But it can't be a completely transparent silent install (I know how to do this); it must provide an option to show an installation progress bar.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Creating .swf from .fla file using ADT command line

    Dear Adobe Community and Moderators:
Is it possible to use the ADT command line to directly compile an .fla file into an .swf file? Context: I have an app created in Flash Pro CS55 (6 months worth of work), but now found Adobe has dropped Flash Pro in favor of Flash Builder or Flex. I have some native extensions I want to use for iOS, but they require Air 3.1 to compile (swf-version=14) i.e. using the MessageUI framework in a static .a library for an Air app. Flash Pro CS55's top end limit seems to be swf-version=13 (Flash 11). Because of heavy investment in time and energy into our Air app in Flash Pro, it's not feasible to convert to Flex by end of week. I tried creating an .swc file, and taking the library.swf from that, but alas, a catch-22, Flash Pro CS55 only compiles to swf-version=13.
Is there any way to either (a) directly compile my root .swf file (from the .fla file) using a command line (so I can use ADT from Air 3.1 SDK) or (b) some way I can marry a native extension I've found I can use on GitHub which is swf-version=14? Again, my issue is that I have to use Air 3.1 since only it supports iOS5.
Any thoughts, suggestions, comments are highly appreciated (including if it's not possible to do what I'm trying to do).
Thank you Adobe community in advance,
    Alex

I have the exact same question, please respond if you hold the answer to this! mxmlc won't work for me since I have created too many assets within the fla already! Thanks!

  • ESB - Register esb with command line?

    Hi,
Is there a possibility to register ESB via command line?
I want to install an esb project on different environments and i'm searching how. What's the best way to do this?
    Thanks,
    Els

The way to do this is using the esbDeploymentAutomation. This can be found in the $SOA_HOME/integration/deployment. There should be a zip file that has all the information in it.
it does require you having fairly good ant skills.
here is just an example of mine.

  • Hide Command field (where users enter transaction codes in SAP GUI)

In our requirement, the custom SAP transaction will be launched on CRM Web UI through transaction launcher technique (when users clicks a hyperlink on CRM UI)
But business people are asking us to not provide the user to enter transaction codes in command field. They don't want User's see command field when the back-end SAP GUI is displayed on CRM UI through transaction launcher and they don't want the user to navigate to any transaction from the SAP GUI. Please let us know you comments on this. Is this possible, if so please guide me?

    Hi Madhu,
This is a question for SAP basis.
One work around could be that the the users who would use ITS screens should not have any other AUTH objects for executing other TCODES. And when they try to do so they will get an error message like you do in a normal SAP GUI.
Basis can configure this by running a Auth Trace.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks

  • Hide the command box in sap gui

    Hi,
Good to see the SAP GUI form,
we are bringing SAP R/3 transactions in Enterprise Portal,
every time the r/3 transaction opens in iview (SAP GUI for windows).
It shows the normal screen with "Command box" on the top,
now we dont want the user to browse the sap system using the command box.
any info on that..is it possible to hide or remove?
    Thanks for help,
    -Krishna

    Hi Krishna,
note 648452 states that the command box will not be displayed for inplace SAP GUI for Windows sessions if you set the following registry value:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SAPGUI Front\SAP Frontend Server\Customize] "HideCmdLineInplace"=dword:00000001
If you want to disable the command box also for outplace sessions in the portal then you may set in addition to above value the following:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SAPGUI Front\SAP Frontend Server\Customize] "HideCmdLineInplaceAllSession"=dword:00000001

  • Is it possible to authenticate the SAP GUI user against LDAP ( no SSO )

    Hi
I was under the impression that you can user LDAP to authenticate your SAP GUI user . ( so users do not have to maintain and remember multiple passwords )..
However - note #603208  claims that this is not possible.
This is quite an old note , is this still true ?
    note #793191 ( FAQ ) says :
    9. Can I synchronize user passwords?
    Response: No.
The password cannot be synchronized. For more information, see Note 603208.
    and note #603208 says :
A comparison of the production password with a directory is not possible.
The following reasons are responsible for this:
The password is not stored in the plain text or in in "enciphered" form, neither in SAP Web Application Server nor in the directory, rather is is stored as a "hash value" that is calculated from the password that is entered. The function used for this is especially designed so that the password CANNOT be reconstructed from the hash value.
For technical reasons, the user master synchronization cannot therefore extract the plain text of the password and send this to another system.
The user's password has a size that is known only to the user. Even the system administrator and database administrator cannot obtain any information about the password.
A comparison in plain text form would violate this basic rule. For this reason, the use of a hash value is a generally applied standard.
Often the adjustment of passwords in several systems is equated with the term "Single Sign-On".
However, this term must only be applied if the user logs on once and this logon information is transferred within the system infrastructure.
The SAP Web Application Server supports real Single Sign-Ons (note 138498).

  • Possible to view MS SQL Server Log in SAP GUI?

    Hi,
I am wondering if I can view the SQL Server log in SAP GUI using a transaction code.
I don't readily see how to do this with the TEs.  It would be helpful to see things like: who has tried to log into the SQL Server via a Database Management tool : agnostic to SAP.: is SQL Server Management Studio or DBArtisan or other services.

    Hi chris
Yes,you can view the Sql server log in transaction code ST04 & DBA Cockpit in SAPGUI.
