Is it possible to hide or at least change the position of the Reset button in registration template?

Hi,
in the registration template there are always the Submit and Reset buttons.
2 questions regarding the Reset button:
from a usability stand point: what's the reason of putting the Reset button equally weighted (from a visual standpoint) next to Submit?
wouldn't it be better to have placed on the left?
(or even hide it?)

It is not recommended to modify this page because it is used farm widely.
What’s more, it will be overwritten once there is upgrade happens.
A workaround is that you can create a custom spcf.aspx page with the layout templates you want.

If you want to hide a layout template by modifying the
spcf.aspx page, it locates at
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS
You can edit this page and remove some <option> tags in the <select> tag, then the removed options will not display on the page.

Came here today seeking the answer to the same question and accidentally discovered that if you leave all the plugin folders open when your previewing the presets, the window will stay parked on the last one you previewed or used. Intuitively, I guess you, like me, were closing the folders in the plugin window you weren't using and this was causing the plugin to reset to "first position," as it were, when you hit apply. This has driven me nuts for years, lol. I hope this helps.

Copy the text chain to your PC. There are 100s of different applications available that will help you do that. Just do a google search.

Is it possible to change the position of the FMS chat component in different frames?

I have developed an application using various FMS2 Communication Components. One of those is the Chat component. The application has various display modes (minimized, normal, maximized). These display modes require the Chat component instance to be resized and repositioned on the screen. I took the approach of having a separate frame represent each of the display modes.
The problem I am having is that the Chat component won't resize or relocate from the size/position on the first frame. The visual layout isn't respected, and calling this.moveTo(x,y) has no effect either. The only way I can get the component to have the desired behavior is to comment out the last line of the Chat component actionscript:
this.setSize(this._width,this._height);
Of course, by doing this, the Chat component appearance is horrible. I have narrowed this down to two set assignments that occur within the setSize function. If either one, or both is called, then the component gets "stuck". The assignments are:
this._xscale = 100;
this._yscale = 100;
Anybody else run into this and come up with a solution?

Try chat_mc._height and chat_mc._x instead.

Is it possible to change the position of beining of text in a standard report

I am wondering wether it is possible to change the position of the test (the starting point) in a standard report. I would like to print a label with different texts at different positions. If its not possible in a standard report is there any other way to do it.

Hi Mudda, I don't see any way myself to set any particular starting position for your text. It looks like the best way to emulate this behavior would be to add a new line with lots of tab characters or spaces to place your new text at a specific offset from the left. You can also use Append Table to Report and wire in a 2D string array with only a few positions filled in with your various text labels as shown below. This will space text labels pretty well across the page. Try it out and see if it works for you. You could be more clever and build the 2D array programmatically if you wanted more control over position.

Hide Reset button in dashboard prompt

Helllo,
There is a issue with the reset button in the dashboard prompt where it clears the selections made, only if apply button is not clicked on. As per oracle that is the intended functionality of 'reset' button, however if you want to clear the selections made in the prompt -- go to clear my selections!
Now this is the senario i am facing, i made a custom link and placed bellow the prompt which would clear the selections made, now i want to hide the 'reset' button or atleast change change the name from reset to something else like 'clear' and change the position of the button.
Could anybody help me how I can achieve this, may be tweak xml of prompt template, i dont know. I think it is ok until the functionality of this button is changed by oracle in next releases to tweak the source xml for this prompt, so that I dont have to do it individually for every prompt.

I'd say rather than customizing XML here just give a static text message below/above the prompt stating the difference between Reset and Clear Prompts Button Functionality. Users can make use of both as per requirement.

Is it possible to hide the save function and only use the save as function in teststand

Hi,
When i'm done building a sequence i want to prevent other engineers to save the sequence with the same filename (or version number).
Is it somehow possible to "hide" the save button and only use the save as function?
Or is there another possiblity to solve my problem.
The idea is to have a sequence called Sequence_V1.0.seq which i have build. When installing this in a factory enviroment I would like whenever there is a change needed in the sequence that the version number increases (manual action) (becomes Sequence_V1.1.seq). So from the moment you want to save i would like to only have the function save as. In this way you are obligated to fill in a new sequence name (original sequence will be read-only)
What would even be great if there could be a log of what the changes were

1) You could mark the file as read-only, by default you would then not be able to save over it. The user could make it not read-only though if they know what they are doing.
2) Another possibility is to lock the sequence file for editing (this is a teststand feature). Go to the Sequence File Property dialog, on the advanced tab, where it says Password Protection, set it to Not Editable and give it a good password. This doesn't however keep someone from saving another file to the same name as the locked one, but they at least won't be able to saved the locked file again without your password, nor will they be able to edit it.

Is it possible to hide event locations?

In previous versions of iCal the location wasn't incorporated into the event title in weekly view. It's kind of annoying and adds visual clutter. Does anyone know of a way to keep the location in the info pane, where it belongs?

Possible to hide Time Machine HD icon from desktop?

Hey, I'm using Time Machine with a new iomega 500 GB desktop USB hard drive I installed a few days ago, and it seems to be working like a champ. Just wondering...is there any way to hide the new icon on my desktop called "Time Machine Backups"? (this is what Time Machine named the new hard drive) I changed my finder preferences to hide all external devices, so that's not the trick, apparently. And there doesn't seem to be an option in Time Machine prefs that I can find. Any tips? With Leopard, I've become accustomed to the nice, clean desktop, and now I can't seem to get rid of this one icon.

I asked the same question yesterday and was told that this is not possible. I would think it would be a pretty simple thing to add to the preferences pane for Time Machine. You should add it to the OS X feedback page.
My motivation wasn't to clean up the desktop so much as keep my wife from ejecting the disk on her iMac without me knowing and then weeks later ask me for a file only to find out it never got backed up. I taught her about Time Machine, but you never know...

Possible to hide browse sequences?

I have a few topics in my chm that do not contain browse
sequences. They are standalone topics that do not appear in the TOC
or index. When the help is called from the application, they are
launched in the right pane of the chm. The problem I have is that a
"default" browse sequence will still appear at the top of the chm
even though the topics don't have any assigned browse sequences.For
these topics, is it possible to hide the browse sequences from
appearing?

Actually this should be possible. What you would do is to
create a new window that would be used for your context sensitive
calls. Then when your developer calls the help, they specify the
window it should appear in. That window would be configured with no
browse sequence bar.

Is it possible to hide pages in a PDF document

I have produced an interactive training program which has a 20 question quiz and 5 chapters. At the end of each chapter I have a quiz button which takes the participant to a specific part of the quiz, then back to the next chapter. The whole of the quiz is located at the end of the program and with the use of hyperlinks and buttons you can jump from chapter to quiz and back to the same or next chapter. I would like to hide the quiz in the same document, is this possible and how is it done.

An alternative is to separate the quiz pages to a separate document and include it in the main PDF as a file attachment. You can create links in the main document to the attachment so that it opens in a new window. When this quiz document is closed, the main document will be open.

@rajesh: I didn't understand why should we use Relativedate() function?can you please explain little bit more. Becuase the report has customer exit written such a way that if I run the report today it will show up previous 60 days
For example:
today is 04/06/2011
so in the report date column has values and shows up like
02/06/2011
02/07/2011
02/08/2011
04/05/2011.
So now I should hide/avoid/shouldn't show First 10 days. In example above 02/06/2011, 02/07/2011,02/08/2011.....like wise 10 days so till 02/16/2011 shouldn't be shown in the report. The beginning of the report should start from 02/17/2011 till 04/05/2011..

MacBookPro screen real estate limited. Folders and other junk on my desktop can be distracting on top of that.

You can eliminate mounted volumes via Finder Preferences>General
You can reduce folder clutter by being neater!
But if you really want to hide everything on your Desktop, then download the free utility TinkerTool, and use this option:
To make the Desktop objects visible again, re-run TinkerTool and uncheck that box.

Try clearing that.
