Is it possible to import disc at once with markers to the tracks?

I now have to import my cd's twice. Once, so I have access to all the tracks and once for the disc at once. All I want is to be able to play the album like a CD. Listen to the thing as a whole and have access to each track if I wish. Why can't apple add this simple application to itunes? It would free up so much hard drive space. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

No, it's not.
But if you are trying to get gapless playback from something like a continuously mixed dance CD you could try this.
Chec Crossfade playback in iTunes>Preferences>Playback and then setting the slider to 0 yields pretty good results. Not perfect, but pretty good.
This will only effect playback in iTunes, not CDs you burn from iTunes.

Is i possible to import photos from a disk and retain the same order they appear on the disk? When I import them, the come out in random order.

When first imported the photos will be sorted in the Event chronologically. On the disk they well be sorted by the Finder and that's usually alphanumerically by file name. So select the photos in the event and type Commnad+N. That will create a new album at the left with the photos in it. Then go to the View ➙ Sort Photo menu and select "By Title". That should give you the same order as you view the photos on the disk via the Finder.

Importing a 3CD opera so that all the tracks are sequential in one playlist

I have a 3CD opera. Each Cd starts it's track numbering with 1, 2, 3, etc. When I import the cds I either have 3 separate playlists - one for each disk - or if I put them together I have tracks 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3 - etc. I gather I can renumber each track but that seems a bit tedious. Is there a way to import into one play list that automatically makes the tracks in the correct sequential order?

Definitely a little odd that some episodes will sync and others will not, especially since they are from the same season. How the videos were encoded may be slightly difference, so much that your iPod no longer friends them compatible.

Since these are videos that were purchased from the iTunes store, you won't be able to convert them in any way, so you may be out of luck.

I loaded a disc into iTunes and some of the tracks are double listed in iTunes.

Yeah, I loaded "Imagine" by John Lennon into iTunes on my iMac. Some of the tracks came up in iTunes double listed. I tried dragging one of the listings to trash and it said it'd remove the track (oh no!).
I have unticked the duplicate tracks atm, but is there a simple solution to remove the duplicates or should I simply reload the disc?

It is just conceivable you burned a CD that exactly matched one already in the Gracenote database. Gracenote uses track count and duration to decide what CD it is you have in a computer. If you have one that matches that it will label it. You could conceivably even have one that matches it that is not the correct one.

Importing photos not taken with iPhone on the Mac

I would like to import my photos from iPhone - but those not taken WITH iPhone.
I'll explain: I have photos on my PC. I can sync them to the iPhone. I now would like to import these into iPhoto. Under Windows, I can import as soon as I plug in the phone or access its disk. How can I do the same in my Mac?

You cannot import photos from the iPhone that were transferred to the iPhone from a computer via the iTunes sync process with a PC or a Mac. Photos transferred from a computer via the iTunes sync process is a one way transfer process only - from the computer to the iPhone. Photos transferred from a computer are optimized for viewing on the iPhone as part of the iTunes sync/transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced on the iPhone, which is why the transfer of these photos in the opposite direction is not supported.
There are a number of other ways to transfer the full resolution photos from one computer to another.

Presenter 7: Can you Import a single WAV with Markers over multiple slides?

The import audio allows you to import a WAV format file. You should be able to use Markers in the WAV file and the Import will split the single WAV file at those markers to fit with the individual slides.
That was certainly the case in earlier versions according to some of the Forum posts, and the dialog box for Audio Import hints that it can be done because it says:
"Select the starting slide for the import..."
Ignore Markers? (check box)
So the title, select the starting slide suggests that the import can be over more than one slide, and the Ignore Markers check box suggests that markers might be used somehow.
But it doesn't! This would be great if it did. Has anyone got this working?
What I have to do now is split the audio file up into individual files, one for each slide, and name them 01, 02, 03 and so on. Then the import can be pointed to all the files and it puts one file on each slide for you.
Any help getting this working gratefully received.

I have upgraded to 7.0.2 but the result is the same, the audio is imported all onto a single slide.
Can I ask what audio application you are using to save the WAV file? I am using Adobe Soundbooth and in that the markers are called "Flash Cue Points" (the menu is Edit, Marker, Flash Cue Point). I am wondering if these are traditional WAV markers or something different.
My file definately has 11 of these markers and I have 12 slides in my PowerPoint. Whilst importing the audio I am selecting the first slide and "Ignore Markers" is definately not checked.

Why is it so difficult to CANCEL a subscription to AOLs cyber newspaper, "THE DAILY". It appears to have been made very possible as a scam, so once you give them the automatic, weekly deduction to your credit card or bank account, it's non cancelable!

BEWARE: if you subscribe to AOL'S cyber newspaper (for 99¢ per week),you will have to give them authorization to charge your account weekly vain iTunes/apple account or credit card or bank account. Once you do that you have a better chance having a long phone chat with Oboma about all the people now on welfare, than getting someone to at AOL or APPLE to cancel your subscription. You will get routed all around and put on hold and finally referred to a forum where this has been REPEATEDLY asking ...and, per APPLE, answered. In fact, when you follow the APPLE given link (a live person at APPLE sends you the link by email but can not tell you what to do on the phone) ... And you go to the link, you will find ...as I did and others commented they did too...that the link suggestions do not work to allow younto cancel The Daily!   At this point younwill have over an hour, perhaps 2 (as in my case) invested and STILL NOT HAVE IT CANCELLED.
What incompetence by AOL and APPLE!   Or wait; do you really think this is made so complex, not by incompetence, but by design?
You mean you think AOL ...once the got your account debit authorization working, the want to make it nearly impossible for you to stop them from continuing to "milk the cow"?   They do have a dubious, to put it politely, record onmcustomer care (reason theynlost literally millions of paying "AOL Members" starting about mid 1990's ...and then making AOL free before ALL their "members left".)

Yoor post is very confusing. AOL's iPad magazine is called "Editions" and it's free. "The Daily" is put out by TheDailyHolding and is owned by Rupert Murdoch. You've already posted in another thread where the solution was given. Other people seem to have manged to get unsubscribed.

There are some movies I have that I really want on my iPod touch, but I don't want to have to buy them from the iTunes store. Does anyone know if there is a way to import some of the movies I own onto iTunes?

Hi, if you have a file on your computer (AVI, MKV, WMP, MP4, ...) sure you can. Just remember that by default, iTunes will only accept MOV, MP4 and M4V files. Simply drag and drop those files in your iTunes library.
Chances are you also have other files. In that case, you have two options:
1) Convert those files to M4V with a conversion tool such as HandBrake.
2) Use an iTunes add-on such as VideoDrive that will create references to your video files in iTunes.
I recommend the first solution if you only have a few files. If you have a lot of videos, the second solution is better because these tools also add covers and movie descriptions and have options to automate the whole process.
If you have DVD's, you should first rip them to your Mac, but make sure you have the copyright to do so. Also, in some countries, ripping DVD's is illegal, even if you want to make a personal copy.

Is it possible to import a .ics filled with events to a non-default calendar?

I'm making a spreadsheet to build a .ics file with the month shifts, to become easier to fill them in Calendar.
I have shifts in different workplaces and I liked to have different colors, so I easily identify where to go.
I managed to add all the events, but it always add to the default calendar that is defined.
There is any line that I can add in each block that define an event to place it in the correct calendar?

Hi John,
I created a new calendar for testing this, and created an event there,
exported that new calendar, erased the event from calendar, then imported the file and even that event is added to the default calendar.
I only see two ways here,
or I generate one ics file for each calendar and each time I import I change the default calendar,
or I add all to one calendar, then select by hand all events of same type then switch calendar type.
Seems harder finding out how to do it automatically
but if someone knows how to do it...will make my day

Importing EPS to PDF with Ghostscript looses the grouping

Hi,
I used Ghostscript to import a EPS to a PDF file and the grouping EPS file has seem to be loosing while generating the PDF. Can someone let me know whether the grouping can be retrained? I would like to know whether the "grouping" "ungrouping" is a specific feature in Illustrator which can't be retrained.

Sorry for the confusion, I will explain more about the relation between Illustrator and Ghostscript. I am working on a web application which allows the users to create designs which can be used for custom printing. The application allows the user to upload EPS files as artworks, add custom text etc and in the end the generates a PDF which will be shared with the printer.
We are using Ghostscript for importing the EPS files and creating the final PDF file which includes the uploaded artwork(s) and any text(s) the user has added.
Now the problem that we've faced while importing the EPS file using Ghostscript is that, it removes the "grouping" that was present in the EPS file while converting to the PDF file. So my question was whether you can help me by giving some pointers to retain the group by using tools such as Ghostscript. Please let me know the appropriate forum where I can ask similar questions.

How do I import a pdf file with layers into Motion 5?

In earlier version of Motion, you could import a pdf file with all layers or even select layers you wanted to import. You did this by dragging the pdf file into the project and holding it until a popup appeard providing you choices for how you wanted to complete the import. In Motion 5.0.1 however, no such popup appears and it imports the file as a flat image file. Any ideas how to change this pelase?

Thanks Ben & Praveen. In FCP7 It was possible to import PDF files and as you did the import, make choices regarding layers you wished to import. FCPX appears to import PDFs but only as flattened files. I'll try keeping the file in PSD format and importing as you recommend.

Import CVI Instrument driver with void pointer

Hi,
I would like to use a CVI instrument driver that contains void pointers as parameters in LabVIEW. There are additional parameters which declare the kind of data where the void pointer points to.
If I try to import this driver to LabVIEW I get warnings that the void pointer paarameters are converted to I32 since LabVIEW do not have the void pointer.
Does anybody know if it is possible to import a CVI function with void pointers that will work properly in LabVIEW? How do I have to handle this converted void pointer?
