Is it possible to incorporate a "Manual Over-ride" feature in FIM 2010? i.e. during a target sync, skip the MV entry.

We are stuck on a FIM design.
We have a column in our SQL feed table to FIM MV named "ManualAction"
What we want to happen is that if this column has the value "YES" then FIM will not synchronize the MV entry to attached sources e.g. AD and FIM Portal.
If we try connector filter-ing on column ManualAction equals YES we either disconnect and preserve the MV attributes provided or disconnect and nullify those MV attributes. This is not what we want.
We want somehow to instruct FIM not to synchronize this MV entry if MV.ManualAction == YES
Could this be do via a Rule extension somehow??
The point of the Manual flag is that an Administrator may set one or more attributes in an AD account deliberately and does NOT want them overwritten by FIM even though the usual authoritative source value differs...
What we are thinking is ... is it possible to instruct FIM to 'skip' this MV entry at target resource(s) sync time.
I admit, I am not optimistic but I thought I could ask the FIM experts.

you can do this for normal MA in some more and maybe granular ways.
consider to sync the ManualAction also to MV and use this in manual precedence code of attribute flows in combination with lastwriter/contirbutor of the attribute.
With this you have the manual attribute values from ex. AD also in MV and so in Portal.
This is more granular because you can only have a override on the attributes you need while flowing other attributes by normal sync.
Portal is a bit restricted as you can not control the provisioning and attribute flows with code. Whats in your MV will be providioned and exported to Portal 1:1 (if there are flows of cource).
To have advanced flows on Portal MA you can implement a solution called replay MA.

i know this is about as old as computers have been around, but...my wife and i have a headphone piece broken off in the headphone jack of her white macbook (early 2009). we have tried every adhesive and it hasn't work.
i tried the toothpick in jack to toggle the switch or something and nothing has worked.
we've bought several little usb headphone adapters but it's just such a horrible workaround to always have this huge adapter sticking out with speakers attached.
is there any drastic measure i could take....drill in right next to the jack and push it out?
is there a way to go in to some code and do a manual over-ride or something? i am very good with computers so i'll do almost anything..

I had restored my son's ipod because the software update option was not available and I wasn't able to update from version 4.3.3. I had hit restoration which cleared and allowed the update to 6.0 however my itunes still seems to have an issue. It always freezes up during the sinking/backing that takes place in the beginning. It then freezes and I reboot and does the same thing all over again. My son installed a game from his ipod but we can't do anything from itunes?

I have a java application with it's own JRE bundled in it. The application uses "user.name" to identify the user who is using the application. Now, is it possible to over-ride this? I would want to supply a user name that the application should be using to run the application.
I have seen the application's options to pass a command line argument and this does not seem to be possible.
I tried sneaking into the System class source code and see that the properties returned by System are initialized in the method "private static native initProperties". I did not have any clue on how to see the implementation of this "native" method!

You CAN use a drive with files already on it to store Time Machine backups. But long term, that is not recommended. You do not need to reformat or re-partition the drive to do this. Once Time Machine Backups are established, you could remove the old files.
But do not delete Time Machines files with the Finder -- that can cause it to lose its place and lose everything.
With the cost of backup drives under US$100, it might be a better idea in the long run to get another drive. Best results from Time Machine is a drive about 3 times larger than the drive(s) you are backing up.

To access SQL Server Analysis Service tabular model remotely, we need configure the Windows Firewall for Allow Analysis Access. Generally, we open TCP port 2383 or 2382 for remote access.

The description say: data pin D- need a voltage level of 2V and D+ 2,857V
when the data pins have this special voltage levels and VCC has +5V only then the iPad is charging.
The voltage "D+/D- coding" is the key for the iPad to charge.
OK now back to my problem.
The regular USB data pin voltage level is 0,3 - 3.,0 voltage. When the iPad is charging the data pins have this special voltage level. Now i try to transmit data over the usb data pins with the. Normaly the USB port transmit the data with a voltage level of max. 3V.
And here my problem. The higher voltage level at the data pins cares therefor that the iPad stop the charging.
Is that correct?

So I have found a common denominator to this phenomenon. After having the same problem, I started to recopy my playlist of 500+ songs in groups of 10-20, 30+, 75+, and then over a 100+. Any music I have purchased from iTunes won't copy, but everything else did. Unsure if I made a playlist called "Purchased" at some point or this is an iTunes default, I also noticed it had some of the songs contained in my other playlist and was showing on my iPhone. Regardless of what I did such as dragging music from that playlist to the other and clearing songs from that playlist, I removed it altogether from the iPhone itself vs. doing through iTunes. After that, music copied fine to my playlist.
So, my theory is that iTunes is getting tripped up on purchased tracks already showing on the phone and all songs are showing grayed out/dotted circle because iTunes can't resolve the conflict with purchased tracks.

Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"? There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.

The above can get pretty complicated. You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.

Generally YES.
It's possible to hold separate iTunes library's on a single machine.
Generate two new folders inside the Music folder of the Mini and name them differently; e.g. man and woman.
Copy your whole library into "man" and your wifes into "woman"
Go to sharing in the system settings of the Mini and share the Music folder in your network.
After copying the whole library's to the Mini you may point iTunes to the new location at startup by holding the option key (alt) at the keyboard.
iTunes will then ask you where the library is located.
Point it to the matching library on the Mini.
That's all.

Over-ride Exchange settings.

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if it is possible to override the CUPS exchange settings in the Jabber-config.xml file?
The reason is that we are going to progressively roll end users from Exchange 2003 to 2010 (but not all at one time) so some users will be on 2003 (webdav) end also 2010 (EWS) which can’t co-exist on the CUPS server.
My thought here was to deploy the end user local Jabber-config.xml pointing them to 2010 until all have rolled over etc…
