Is it possible to make a circular slider in Flex?

I am looking for a way to make a circular slider in Flex. Is it possible? If it is, please guide me with it.

Hi,
It is most certainly possible in Flex 4! The way I would do it would be to subclass SliderBase. Then, there are two methods to override:
override protected function pointToValue(x:Number, y:Number):Number - This method takes an (x, y) coordinate in the component coordinates and returns the value associated with it. You would want your mapping of (x,y) -> value to be in a circle.
override protected function updateSkinDisplayList():void - This method updates the thumb's location by calculating the (x, y) location that corresponds to the current value. It then calls setLayoutPosition() on the thumb to position it.
You can take a look at HSlider and VSlider as an example. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Is it possible to make a text box cycle/rotate through text, like a slide show does?

Is it possible to make a text box cycle through 3 or 4 separate pieces/groups of text, like a slide show does with photos? So that when I open my site a text area says "Statement 1", then 10 seconds later it changes to "Statement 2", then 10 seconds later it chagnes to "Statement 3", etc.
Its that possible with a text box? My desire is to have 3 or 4 testimonials that change every 10 seconds.

Right. Some plugins have zip file downloads while others are just copy & paste.
In DW, go to File > New > Blank page > JavaScript.
Copy & paste the Cycle plugin code into your new JS page.
SaveAs cycle.2.9.81.js in whichever site folder you normally keep scripts.
Link your HTML page to your new cycle script:
Insert > Script > Script (browse to folder containing your cycle script). Hit OK.
Don't forget to add a link to the jQuery core library, too. Plugins don't work without it.

Aside from any custom implementations that may be suggested by any other members, you could also consider using some hero-type slider like those found on our new responsive templates, and have each web-app item contain a product.

Is it possible to make an animated drop down menu and still use the menu widget?

Hi- I am trying to create a menu bar that is hidden with just a tab exposed to indicate that there is a menu there. Upon rollover, the full menu bar slides down and reveals the menu items. I can't find a way to make it smoothly slide down so I settled for the Photoshop button and just moved the button position in Photoshop to fake it. The problem is now I need to find a way to still use the menu widget along with this. if that can't be done, can I use the Photoshop button and populate the menu there and abandon the menu widget?
Someone suggested using Edge Animate ( why the hell is this a separate software from Muse?) to make the animation. If that's a possibility, can the menu widget be used with the Edge file that's imported? please help me get to where I need to go however it needs to happen! Thanks in advance.

Not possible to make full check in email client?

I saw that doesn't exist the possibility to make a "full check - check all" into the email settings.
Is nice that the checks can be done individually, but I think will be useful to have a "check all" option, in case that you want to move all emails into another folder for example (supposing that you have hundreds of emails, which is another issue because the email client is not able to save the received messages)

You can check all in the Hub for emails or text to mark them read or delete, but no option to move all. Just click an hold on the date and slider appears on the right to Mark all read or delete.

How can I make my question slide look and act like the rest of the project?

I have created my project without using a template. Each time I needed to create a new screen I simply duplicated the slide and then inserted new text. This worked quite well. However, when I tried to do this for a question slide, it wouldn't let me (obviously).
Is there a way of customising a question slide to look exactly like the rest of my project (and have the interactivity on the slide that the rest of the project has)? When I tried designing a new template and question template side and applying it to the question slide in my project, I could only insert a static image as the background on the template slide. Needless to say, there was no interactivity on the slide, i.e. no active click boxes etc, and I couldn't add these either when I applied it to the slide.
Any help is much appreciated. This is for a Masters project, so I'm still learning the basics.

I am using Captivate 4. All of my screens so far look like a website - with menus and makeshift spry menus (image maps with click boxes). My preference is to use this layout for the question slides. However, it sounds like this isn't possible. What do other people do to make their question slides look a part of the course?

How to make the last slide stay on the screen ?

Hi,I need to make the last slide of my animation to remain on the screen when the animation ends and also when I export in a quick time movie .

A possible workaround would be to have something appear (like a shape) as a build outside the slide's viewing boundary (if you extend the size of the window, you'll see you have some workspace outside the slide) autmatically after the animation is finished, and set a delay time or build duration based on how long you need the slide to remain on the screen. How this works will depend on your setup for quicktime export.

Is it possible to make a copy of the Leopard install DVD?

Is it possible to make a copy of the Leopard install DVD? If so, is there a special way this has to be done? I just found out that we needed to use the Leopard install DVD to recover a complete backup from Time Machine after a recent hard drive failure. We have the family pack of Leopard, so I would like to keep the original at home and send a copy when my daughter goes off to college in case she needs to recover again. Her machine was originally a Tiger MacBook, so those install disks will not work. If it is not possible to copy the DVD, is there a way to create a bootable utility to do a time machine recovery?

This half-solved my problem. I have had no problems creating a backup copy for my intel based computers, but non-intel based computers are problematic; a G5 powermac tower and a G4 Powerbook. Both with super drives for single density burning. Both have Leopard running, installed from an install disc purchased from Apple. However, neither will mount the copy, but intel based computers will. have burnt/burned with both toast 9 and Disc Utility. Discs won't mount and are "spit out" by the drive.

Are you using the "motion path" behavior? If so just duplicate it and drag it down the timeline to where you want it to start. Trim it to end at the end of the project. The gap you leave in the timeline between the two behaviors is your hold time. Not sure why you are using a camera unless you have a behavior on the camera.If you are using keyframes just set two keyframes at the same position values in the inspector for the hold time.

You can use iCloud to share the Calendar, that way she will always be up to date on that particular section of your work calendar. If you want to use iCloud, I would recommend backing up so you have a safe copy of your data.

Is it possible to make a type cast in TestStand?

I've got the following problem.
I use a receive function which waits for an undefined package. (struct package).
The problem is i can't specify the module with the exaxt package.
Generally in C i define a Pointer and create enough buffer for it. Is it the same in TestStand?
Is it possible to make a type cast?
for example:
i've got these packages
struct packet;
struct data;
the function does not know which structure to receive.
err = receive(buffer,maxlen);
how do i specify the buffer variable?
can i create a type "void" with a String to have enough buffer.
and then to make a type cast, for example "Locals.dataobject = ((data)Locals.buffer)"
any ideas?

Unfortunately there is no way to do type-casts in TestStand. What you could do is write a wrapper-dll in C, that has for example two parameters for both possible structs. The dll then takes one of the parameters, does the typecast and passes it on to your original dll.
From TestStand you can pass the struct(or better container in the "TestStand language") you want to use to the accoridng parameter of the wrapper-dll, leaving the other parameter empty or with some default-value.

My Photos app works the same on iOS 5 as it did on iOS 4 i.e. I can have a different track for each album. When I select a track for a photo album I then start the slideshow so that it shows the first couple of photos with the track playing - I'm not sure it's necessary to start the slideshow but I always do and it remembers that track for that album.
