Is it possible to recalibrate the touch screen on an original iPad

As per title . Since I first purchased there were 1 or 2 areas that were not ideally sensitive for touching/swiping but now there are quite a few and I end up constantly reorientating the screen to get an area which is sensitive to touch .
I do clean the screen regularly but it doesnt really help too much . Is there a reset screen function that may restore usefulness ?

I'm not aware of anything specifically for the screen, but there is a general reset which may or may not help : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't help then you could try restoring to your last backup or restoring back to factory defaults.
Do the parts of the screen where you having problems no work on any apps ? It may be a hardware issue with the iPad, in which case you may need to contact Apple.

it is possible that zoom maybe enabled i think double taping with three fingers should disable it.
or you can go into settings>general> assessability> zoom and turn it off.

You cant unlock your phone unless you put in your password. It may be possible that the apple store could do something about it.

Try start->search for pen and touch--> then uncheck "Use your finger as an input device" in the Touch tab.

Part of the touch screen seems to be dead

Hello All,
Having a problem with the touch screen. It works just fine, except that the lower left corner isn't reacting to touch. When in the desktop screen, the left half of the task bar will not react to touch. the right half is fine along with the area right above it.
This makes using the desktop very difficult to say the least. I have tried to calabrate it multiple times. When the crosshairs are in all four positions of the lower left corner, it will not pickup your touches. The driver is the most current available, and no problems using a mouse.
Any help would be appreciated if there is a fix. I hate the thought of having to ship the unit back to HP for repair unless absolutely necessary. It is under warranty, but looking for a possible fix.

- Have you tried doing the touchscreen test from F2- UEFI
Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 8)
-before that make sure that you updated the HPSA
- and then try doing F2 test
- hope this would fix the isue
- if u find any dead pixel in the F2 test
- its a Hardware issue were a repair is required

Try the stamdard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

I'm sorry to hear your screen is cracked spence425. I know its difficult to use the phone while its damaged. I'm happy you are receiving a replacement device. Have you saved any of your pictures and other data to the cloud? Here is a link about the cloud http://vz.to/1mF0GIx . Unfortunately, you will be unable to remove any data from the phone if the screen is unresponsive but if you are looking to transfer data to your new phone, it would have needed to be saved via the cloud first. IOS7 installed OK to my iPhone 4S and worked OK for a while but I have somehow managed to completely jam my iPhone 4s. The touch screen won't work except for up and down gestures (some of the time). I can't make or answer calls, I can't even power if off. I can't access the hardward ID which Apple support seems to require for Chat.
It might have happened when I was accessing my camera bypassing the lock screen!
All I know is that the thing is now useless and it looks like I will have to wait for the battery to run down to see if powering it back up afterwards will solve the problem.

I have since discovered the "hold down home key and power button" together for a few seconds and this seems to have worked .... phew!

There is no way to make a backup of your iPod.

When sending an image to print on our 5000s and 5100s I'd like for the printer to apply a halftone screen of 85 (frequency) and 45 (angle). However, the driver properties only has two settings - Standard and Enhanced.
I took a look at the PPD and found the following:

*ResScreenFreq 1200dpi/1200 dpi: "180.0"
*ResScreenAngle 1200dpi/1200 dpi: "45.0"
I had hoped that simply by changing the screen frequencies to "85.0" it would do the trick (since 85 does not appear to be outside of the printers' capability). However, it resulted in no changes to the prints. I know (or at least think) the changes were "seen" by the print driver because I changed some of the text that it uses in the property boxes of the print driver and those changes appeared (e.g. I changed "Standard" to "Standard 2" for one of the halftone descriptions).
My question is... can I customize the frequency/angle used or are these values fixed regardless of changes made to the PPD?

Stuck with a message on the touch screen - checking device

This is an officejet 8500 wireless - the computer OS is Vista 64
The touch screen on the printer is stuck with a message that says "checking device" I cannot cancel or stop unless I unplug the printer. This occured after a paper jam.

First, make sure there are no little pieces of paper left in the printer. This document can help you check it out:
Paper Jams.
If you still get the message on the screen, pull the power cord out while the printer is turned on. Wait 15 mseconds. Hold down the # and 6 keys on the front while you plug the power cord back in. This should reset the printer and, with luck, will clear the message.
