Is it possible to sort data in reading mode?

Hi everyone,
When user view WEBI reports in reading mode, are there any options or API that allow them to sort the information as their desire? User should not switch to design mode for just to sort the data.
Currently, I'm on BI 4.0.
Please share your ideas!!
Thanks,
Daro

Hi Daro,
You can sort the values in read Mode without having Admin privileges. You just need to select that column and Click on Sort button like Microsoft Word. To see "Sort" option, you have to open the Report toolbar as below;
Open any Document->View->Toolbar->Report
Now Report toolbar is visible and you will get "Sort" option there. Now click on any column you want to sort and after that click on SORT button in Report toolbar.
Try it and let us know if you face any issues.
Cheers,
Sahil

  • Is it possible to sort folders by date that is written in the folders name? eg. folders are named 26 May 2011 and so on

    Hi,
    Question as in the topic: Is it possible to sort folders by date that is written in the folders name? eg. folders are named 26 May 2011 and so on
    Thanks
    Karol

    I sort mine 5.1.11, 5.2.11, etc. - that works (adding letters to the numerals does not work as well). Starting with the month will also work better because there are only 12 of them (rather than a repetition of days).

  • Is it possible to import data into a Reader Extended PDF created in Livecycle?

    Hi there,
    I make a lot of Reader Extended forms for my company. When I issue form updates, sometimes staff have to re-copy or re-type records into forms with repeating subforms.  I'd like to be able to jumpstart their process by importing from an old, filled-out form, into my new updated form.
    I've found I can do this by making an XML data file of the data from the old form, but I can't import into an Extended from using Adobe Reader. Most of our staff don't have Acrobat, so they aren't able to save data into non-extended forms.
    Is this clear, what I'm asking? Import XML data into Reader Extended form.
    Thanks for any help you can give,
    Laura

    Hi,
    It's indeed possible to import data in a reader enabled form with Reader.

  • Is it possible to sort by dates in a column?

    I have a column of dates and would like to sort either ascending or descending, but Numbers sorts by the first number.  Is there any trick to getting it to sort dates?

    Janice,
    I would guess that if Numbers is only using the first number to sort then it may not think the information you entered is a valid date.
    Here is an example showing that Number does not think my last entry is a valid date:
    Column A has no special formatting.  In this case when I enter a date Numbers right justifies it when it recognizes the entry as a valid date.  In the event Numbers does not recognize the entry as valid it left justifies it.  Do you see any entries that are not valid dates?

  • Is it possible to sort the Aperture Library by Lens used

    Is it possible to sort the Aperture Library by Lens used? And get statistics on the different Lenses used?
    I'm using latest Aperture.

    I would just add that your Preferences settings have to be set to show the columns you need. Go to Aperture -> Preferences, and select the Metadata tab. in the "List View Columns" field, for whichever set you have chosen with the radio button, choose the set of data from the pulldown list that shows the fields you want. For example, I have the lens model field set in EXIF-Expanded set. I choose that set and those fields will show in the columns in List View.
    Great tips, thanks!

  • Efficent method to sort data from tab delimited text file

    I am currently writing a program to sort through data that was acquired and display it on a graph and some other indicators.  The file is a tab delimited text file with possibly 100,000s of data points.  the current method that I have tried using was that if I wanted all of the data from Oct, I would parse out the month from the timestamp, compare that to the desired month, and add it to the array if it is the same.  Other possible options of sorting are yearly and daily, possibly even hourly.
    The method does work, however it does take some time (up to a minute on a P4 3.6 GHz with 2 gb ram), and most of the other computers are not nearly as fast or with as much memory.  Is there a more efficent method to sorting the data??
    I attached my sorting vi as well as a sample data file.
    thanks for the advice.  It is saved in LV8.0.1

    First of all, "sorting" has usually a different meaning (Sorting and numeric array ascending or descending, a string array aphabetically, etc.). Your data already seems sorted by date and time, you just want to pick a subset having certain characteristics.
    The main problem that is slowing you down is your constant growing of large arrays. This causes constant memory reallocations.
    Since your data is already sorted by date and time, all you need is to place your data in a sutable data structure, find the start and end point of your selection, then use "array subset" for example.
    Your code also seems to have a lot of unecessary complexity. See for example your "test for sort data" (see image below).
    the four cases only differ by filename --> only the file name belongs into the case and the file operation outside the inner case. Even better, just use autoindexing.
    that shift register does not do anything, because it always contains the same data. Using "index array" with index wired to [i] is equivalent to an autoindexing tunnel.
    You have a case structure to select which files to read, skipped files give you an empty array. Do you really need to do all these operations on an empty array. Why not place all code inside the TRUE case??
    Below is an image of one possible code alternative that addresses some of these points.

  • Sorting Date in PSE9 folder

    Can anyone tell me if it is possible to sort the date INSIDE of a folder?
    Ehen I use 2 different cameras it appears that the sorting of the name of the photo has priority i.o. the date.
    I know the possibility of date-sorting but then it sorts the dates of all the folders.
    Thanks in advance.

    Bonne continuation.

  • Pb retrieving sorted data from Table in SQL.

    Hi,
    I get problem to retrieve data in the right order from table in database SQL.
    See code attached: code.png
    I want to sort data according to ID number And then to retrieve those data and fill out a ring control in the right order "descending" .
    But i got always ID 2 instead of 1. See attached  picture : control.png
    it seems that the select statement (see under) is not woking properly. But it is working well in a query in Access DataBase .
    //Select statement
       hstmt = DBActivateSQL (hdbc, ("SELECT * FROM %s ORDER BY ID DESCENDING",szTableName));
       if (hstmt<= DB_SUCCESS) {ShowError(); goto Error;}
    Some idea ??
    Lionel.

    Hello Lionel,
    According to the document Robert linked, the prototype of DBActivateSQL() is:
    int statementHandle = DBActivateSQL (int connectionHandle, char SQLStatement[]);
    For the 2nd parameter(SQLStatement), you're sending:
    ("SELECT * FROM %s ORDER BY ID DESCENDING",szTableName)
    Probably your intention is to substitute %s with szTableName, but that's not what it happens.
    By using comma operator, ("SELECT * FROM %s ORDER BY ID DESCENDING",szTableName) is evaluated to szTableName, so you call is equivalent to:
    hstmt = DBActivateSQL (hdbc, szTableName);
    In order to substitute %s with szTableName you need to first build the string you're passing as the 2nd parameter:
    char query[512];
    sprintf(query, "SELECT * FROM %s ORDER BY ID DESCENDING",szTableName);
    hstmt = DBActivateSQL (hdbc, query);

    - If when you connect the iPod to your computer it appears in iTunes then you can make a backup and then restore another iPod or other iOS device from that backup.
    - Otherwise you will have to go to a data recovery company.

    HI Mahesh,
    <TRANSACTION_RECEIPT_DATE>07-Apr-09</TRANSACTION_RECEIPT_DATE>
    this is not a date,
    so you should change the query to get you the format in xsd format : YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss+HH:MM
    otherwise, you have to write a custom sort function to decode and order it it.
    if you dont do the custom order and use
    <?sort:TRANSACTION_RECEIPT_DATE;'ascending';data-type='date'?>
    the data will be treated as string and you will see the row is sorted on string.

  • "No more data to read from socket."?

    Hi everybody,
    We recently migrated from Oracle 10g Database Enterprise Edtion to Oracle 11g R2 Database Enterprise Edition
    with Data Guard and a dedicated standy-by database. The database is a data source for multiple applications.
    Among others, we are using two JBoss 4.2.3 GA application servers which run together in a clustered configuration.
    During our migration of our database, we also updated our OJDBC thin drivers from Oracle within our JBosses. We
    replaced the ojdbc14.jar with ojbc6.jar (Oracle 11g 11.1.0.7.0) and updated or added referenced libraries as well.
    Since our migration we experience an unfamiliar problem from time to time. Suddenly our deployed EJBs crash with
    the exception "SQLException: No more data to read from socket." The occurence is rather random than bound to
    a specific bean. The only noticeable thing is that it appears more often when there is more work load on our
    JBosses.
    Our only solution up to now is to shutdown our JBosses, restart the database and restart our JBosses again.
    Depending on our work load we do this from every two days to every 4 hours.
    I googled the message and even found several hundred hits that mentioned the exception above, but none of
    them got really solved, instead people found some case of work around for them. But none of them worked for us,
    since this exception seems more general and can have multiple causes.
    We did not have this problems when we were using the Oracle 10g database. Currently I am not sure if this problem
    is related to the new Oracle 11g R2 database, the new OJDBC thin driver or JBoss.
    Anybody experienced the same problem? And maybe even got it properly solved?
    If you need further information, just ask. I will happily offer as much information as possible to solve this.
    Greetings,
    CB

    Hi,
    I remember that we received similar error after upgrading the database from 9.2.0.7 to 10.2.0.4 in one of our application using JDBC 10.1.0.5. We worked with Oracle support, and they provided us with patch Patch 5851267, that resolved our problem.
    So I would recommend you to do the same.
    regards

  • PhE11: No possibility to sort my pictures by file name !  Why not ?? (Like in PhE 9)  Tha

    There is in PHE 11 Editorno longer a possibility to sort my pictures by file name !  Why not ?? (Like in PhE 9)  That creates a big problem working with my thousands of files !

    dear Brett N
    I am a new macbook user forced to give up Digital Image Pro (winXP), and looking for a photo program that sorts BY NAME. REPEAT BY NAME.
    I was ready to purchase PSE11, but luckily I read this forum and saw that in your infinite wisdom you spared every expense and removed this function.
    I have no need for face recognition, type of photo, etc.
    Should I abandon 15 years of files all sorted by where they were taken?
    I think not. For you to do this to previous owners shows a blatant disregard for them.
    I will look elsewhere and not to a Photoshop product.
    Should you provide an update that corrects this I would consider installing it on my 2 new Apple machines. Hurry though......
