Is it possible to take a Microsoft Dynamics training without real world ERP experience?

Hi Everyone,
I am extremely sorry if i post this thread in a wrong category. But, you can move it to the appropriate category where you see fit.
I have over 10 years of technical experience in the IT industry. Managing servers and network devices are the normal daily routine tasks that i do for 11 years. I am in my 35th year of my age and i got bored from being a jack of all trades as i don't feel
my career is growing. With the rapid evolution of this industry, i think it's time to focus on something and be a subject matter expert. It's not that easy as i expected. I thought about 2 things: 1) information security world. or 2) ERP world. Both worlds
are very difficult to break into because someone needs at least 4 years of experience in each domain.
My questions are:
1) If i take a classroom course in MS Dynamics, does it help for getting an ERP job?
2) If i take a classroom course in MS Dynamics, which dynamics to learn? (e.g AX, GP, NAV, CRM,..etc)
3) Because i am an IT technical guy (not financial, logistics, or payroll), why do i need to learn a functional module? (Employers demand an IT candidate to know at least one functional module besides a technical module but i am not sure why)
4) Which technical modules to learn?

Hi,
It is not so easy to learn any ERP when you have not experience. But, if you are technical guy, I suppose to start with some development training.
Now, some advices:
AX is to hard for learning if you have not any ERP knowledge.
If you are from Europe, try with NAV. If you are from US, try with GP (or NAV).
CRM is not ERP. But, if you want it, you can also try with Dynamics CRM.
I am sure that some course will not help you so much to get a ERP job. Except courses, you have to learn and train it more and more. Some company will employee you only if you have some knowledge, not course (or exam).
You have to know some functional modules, because you can not be only technical guy in ERP software, because ERP is not IT; ERP is software for business processes.
If you need advice where to go on some good course, you must tell me where you living.

ActiveXViewer with Microsoft Dynamics VBA

I'm looking for help and any suggestions.
On our staging server I have a Dynamics VBA script that opens the ActiveXViewer (version 10) and displays a CR report (written in version 11) connected to SQL Server 2000 via ADODB connection and report objects. Works like a dream!
Having trouble deploying to production server. As far as we know the environments are identical. We are getting the 'Invalid TLV record..." error message which we have learned is a typical environment mismatch message. I have investigated the error and found it not to be with the viewer. It seems to be related to the Crystal Reports Designer Library 10 (craxdrt.dll). The TLV error displays as my code instantiates the CR report object that I associate with the viewer to display my Crystal report (.rpt).
I have checked the registrations in both evironments. In production the crqe.dll will not register - it does in staging. I get an error message stating the LibraryLoad "failed - The specified module could not be found." I then deployed the cxlib-1-6.dll to the system32 directory in production. I tried again to register the crqe.dll but now recieve a message that it failed to load because "no registration information found."
Can anyone suggest how I might get this crqe.dll to load? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks to all.

How to access the Microsoft Dynamics database tables for creating a DW

Hi all,
I m trying to build a POC for the manufacturing industry (Dairy Industry).
Hence I'm trying to install Microsoft Dynamics and access the tables available its OLTP and create a warehouse.
Please let me know how we access the database tables of Microsoft Dynamics to do etl (using any etl tool).
Then i would be creating reports and dashboard using OBIEE 11G.
I thought of getting help before installing microsoft dynamics so that i can install the necessary components to achieve the same.
Please let me know the necessary things i would need to do.

ECC 6.0 integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM

I am working on a ECC 6.0 integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM. I need to send the customer master data, va01/va02, vl01n/vl02n/ vf01/vf02 to CRM system. One option I have is to send in the form of IDOC with TRFC - TCP/IP. But looks like this needs a middleware like Biztalk.
Is there a way I can send this data using a Internet service in ECC 6.0 ??? As this would cut the cost of the Biztalk.
I really appriciate your thoughts on this. We don't have XI either.

We have just implemented integarion of SAP with Microsoft stack (Microsoft CRM, Share point and Axapta), But in all integration BizTalk as a middleware used.
There is two way requirements :
1. whenever Most of the control are at the Microsoft level like : Customer creation, Creation of orders, which need to be synchronus activity we have used RFC which internally calls BAPI. (So SAP adapter Configured at BizTalk). and whenever Biztalk receives request file from CRM or share point to there location they call SAP RFC's.
2. When DATA is needed from SAP to microsoft stack like to syncronize the missing transaction like customer pad and all.
Scheduled job at BizTalk end which call SAP to get the DATA via RFC mode :
In SAP we have two things
1. if DATA size is small (below 2 MB) like in last 1 hrs what are the sales contract created in SAP that need to updated in Microsoft other system than Biztalk will trigger a job at 1 hr interval or on deemand to get the detail which directly we pick from data base or using BAPI to get the detail via RFC.
2. If Data Size is large (more than 2 MB) like total transation happened in a day for all customers: then we wriiting the data in OS or application server and that job also get initiated from Biztalk end by sending any parameter to SAP.
advantage of using BizTalk is most of the control you can give it to them so they can run there job on deemand basis.
There is a something known as web service we can use to avoid Interfacing tool, but I dont have much Idea about that,
and please check how many interfacing point is there with SAP in your project, because if Interfacing points are more then I think it is not good to write a web services for so many things.

You can't sync or drag your music back directly from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
There's a command in iTunes 7 under File, "Transfer Purchases from iPod" you can check out. A paragraph on it has also been added to this article: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. As iTunes 7 is just out some of these may not work with it yet though I haven't experienced any problems with the Mac software I use.

If your iPod is set to update automatically take care when connecting back to your computer and an empty iTunes. If it is set to automatically update you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No* (or "Cancel" if you are using iTunes 7). Pressing "Yes" (or Erase and Sync in iTunes 7) will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. In iTunes 7 Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Don't uncheck Sync Music it will be unchecked by default when you choose the manual setting: Managing Your Songs Manually
You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then check the "Manually manage songs" box.
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are comparatively inexpensive these days and you can get loads of storage for quite a small outlay.

We are in the process of deploying UPK 3.5.1 to a number of users in the business. Once they have entered the library location in the Profile Wizard and click next they receive the following Server Error message.

Microsoft Dynamics AX WebSession() is null in Enterprise Portal (EP) when running from a List Page.
The WebSession() works for a detail page, but nor a list page in EP.
Does anyone know of a workaround to this issue?

When the light is on, it would be great to take photos without flash in dark areas or in macromode.
How is this possible?

My idea is using the flashlight permanently as kind of "studio light" to take Photos in macromode:
