Is it single or multiple JVM

Question

Dear all,
I am developing a multithreading Java Application running on Linux box with JDK 1.5 I have a question to ask to clear my doubt. When i execute a shell script where the system will invoke command
$home/java ABC
$home/java XYZ
Is the above consider running in a single jvm or 2 jvm?

Something is wonky in your description. Do you know the difference between a thread and a process? Your parent thread will probably not spawn a child process that handles the incoming transaction process. It's more likely that it starts a new thread that handles the incoming transaction. That means that you want ABC and XYZ to executin in the same VM, and you should only start your application by issuing
java ABC (if that is your main class)
