Is it worth dealing with apple for a small iphone fault

Not my iPhone, but another guy has his iPhone 4 and the speaker doesn't work sometimes so in calls he would have to put it on loudspeaker just to hear it, but it fixes itself and it recurrs about once every 2 weeks or month ish.
I heard apple is good with support and customer support which is one of the main reasons I buy apple products but is it worth going in over just that small fault?

This is up to the individual, but I certainly would if no change after the standard troubleshooting steps.

    - same screen size as the 5 -- or even the 4
    - Much longer battery life -- even if tha means a heavier, thicker phone

  • How to deal with credentials for external applications using a Java Client/

    This is the case. I am integrating an external application with an ADF Application. I have implemented some programmatic ViewObjects that are being filled up by a REST Java Client Wrapper. Everything is working fine but the issue is that the credentials the wrapper is using are hard coded inside the java class. I am thinking to ask for the credentials at the beginning of my taskflow and then store them somewhere and use them then to create my client wrapper (passing them in the constructor).
    However, I don't know if my approach is good and I would like you to share your experiences or how to deal with this.

    You can use Credential Store Framework to store the credentials securely in the weblogic server instead of hardcoding in the java class.
    The Credential Store Framework:

    - provides an API for storage, retrieval, and maintenance of credentials in different back-end repositories

    Actually, In the "Process External Bank Statement" window, i see that there are few entries which is for the previous year and which has not been reconciled. I have never worked practically on BRS and hence, i am scared to make any changes in the clients database without being confident on what i am doing. I need to reconcile for one of their Bank a/c for the month of April '08. I have the copy of the statements for the month ending 31st Mar 08 and 30th Apr 08. The closing balances are as below:
    31/03/08 - 2300000.00
    30/04/08 - 3100000.00
    Now my OB for Bank a/c for April '08 in SAP is 2300000.00 Dr.
    When i go to External Bank Reconciliation - Selection Criteria Screen (Manual Reconciliation), here are the detail that i enter:
    Last Balance: INR -7,000,000.00000 (Grayed out by the system)
    Ending Balance: INR -3,100,000.00000 (Entered by me)
    End Date: 30/04/08 (Entered by me)
    "Reconciliation Bank Statement" Screen opens up and shows the below balances in the screen:
    Cleared Book Balance: INR -7,000,000.00000
    Statement Ending Balance: INR -3,100,000.00000
    Difference: INR 3,800,000.00000
    As per the Bank statement, i have found all the transactions listed out here for the month of Apr '08 but, i also found that the open transactions for the previous month from April '08 have been lying in "Process External Bank Statement" window.
    Could you please help me solve my issue as to what needs to be done or could you also get me some links from where i can get few documents for processing External Bank Reconciliations?
    That will be of a great help for me. I need steps as to what needs to be done first and then the next so that i can arrive at the correct closing balance for the month April '08.

    We have apple TV, ipad, 2 iphones, an imac & mac laptop -- all i want to know is how to STOP the programs from Apple TV auto downloading on my other devices - thats all - should be super easy.

    I want the music to share across all devices
    I DO NOT want entire seasons of TV shows to take up storage on other devices unless I choose it file by file
    TOOK 3 phone calls - first two I am no hold and apple send me an email saying they couldnt reach me (WHILE i am on hold!!)
    Third phone call talked to a rep, she transferred me to some "Expert" - and now on hol AGAIN for alomost 20 minutes
    I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS, APPLE SUPPORT. ( Which I am PAYING FOR).
    Perhaps this is a simple thing to figure out, but not for all users. I am in the category of people who are looking through all the help topics but this one isn't addressed as far as I can see, and it is not immediately evident in preferences...

  • What is the deal with "Apple official unlocked" iPhones on eBay?

    Does anyone know what this means? The eBay sellers say that you can use these phones on any network (like T-Mobile)...but what is the catch? is there some sort of hidden cost or issue with the phones? and why do they say it's officially unlocked by apple, (not jailbroken)...curious as to why/how Apple would do this? Also, does anyone know if/when Apple will make the iPhone available on any other network other than AT&T?

    Yes, they are officially unlocked by Apple. Yes they will work on T-Mo but not completely. T-Mobile 3G WILL NOT function on the iPhone 3G due to different frequencies. If you have trouble believing this saying that there isn't one unlocked to test on T-Mo then look at the G1 Android phone from T-Mobile, it WILL NOT work on AT&T 3G, and it can be unlocked.

    Purchased Ipod 20G Nov 2004. Nov. 2005 quit working one week out of warranty. took it in and they gave me a "different one". April 2006 "different one" quit working - took it in and tech support at apple store said mother board was bad and won't do one thing about it. Dec. 2005 purchased a Ipod 30G w/video screen. April 2006 quit working as it has a bad screen which tech at apple store says was damaged by us, but it was not damaged in any way shape or form. Called support and talked with woman in Canada not any help. Called and talked with tech at apple store - first woman was mean and very unhelpful. Second woman not as rude but definately not helpful. Any suggestions on getting somewhere with these giant companies when I spent a lot of money on inferrior products?

    and i have had to take my computer there 2 times and have had 2 ipods replaced, you should really look into getting applecare, they are alot more helpful if you have it

    I saw a software update in general settings so i let it downloaded.. it took hours and now the screen with apple sign appears and going but the phone is not turning on.. iphone 4 

    Coincidentally I have had the same problem and I am also on Reliance network. I learnt the lesson in an expensive way (Read at Rs.17/min as this is the ISD rate of Reliance for calling to USA). I did mnp (mobile number portability, you oldie!) from Airtel to Reliance. So I had the inactive nano sim of Airtel. I took out the Reliance sim and inserted the Airtel sim into my iPhone 5s. By the time it was serching for the network, I quickly navigated to settings>phone and turned that damned dial assit off. That's it. Now when I inserted the Reliance sim and dialled the toll free numbers it was working perfectly, means free of cost. But I still wonder how come Reliance does not send the post call charge notification after the ISD calls? I had to call 198 to know about the balance deduction.

    Good news,, I dont need a super giant system,  I do simple editing for web videos, minimal graphics, no motion graphics, no animation etc. currently using CS4, will probably end up with 5.5.
    I want to get imac 21.5 or 27 if i have to..  So here's the question we all have,,, what do I really need besides an Apple fairy godmother to figure this crazy stuff out?????
    I want to be able to have firewire add on, but the rest is what I need help with.   So i've been looking at cs6 specs, even though im not there yet, eventually will be,, so just need to run cs4 now and build from there.  I also want to eventually move to final cut down the road so I want imac able to upgrade to final cut.

    All the current iMac models (both 21.5" and 27" with OS X Mt. Lion 10.8) will run CS4, 5.5 and 6 just fine.  They will also run Final Cut Pro X just fine.  Ditto for most any application you may want to use.
    Below are some notes (specific to your apparent requirements) that may help you with your purchase decision:
    Notes on purchasing a 21.5" iMac
    All 21.5" iMacs come with 8GB RAM but you cannot add more later.  I strongly suggest getting the maximum RAM (16GB) when you order the iMac.
    The basic hard drive is a 1TB 5400rpm drive.  It will work fine with Adobe CS but you will probably want the added speed of the optional 1TB Fusion drive for better performance. Some people will recommend/argue for one of the optional SSD drives instead, but they are very expensive and still only come in relatively small capacities - I don't recommend the SSD drives.  Get the Fusion drive and spend any extra money on a good external hard drive for backup and/or extra storage instead of an SSD.
    Notes on purchasing a 27" iMac
    All 27" iMacs come with 8GB RAM and you can add more later, up to 32GB
    The basic hard drive is a 1TB 7200rpm drive - it will be fine with Adobe CS.  There are upgrade options to a 3TB 7200rpm drive or a 1TB or 3TB fusion drive - these will be fine also.  There are also SSD drive options, but I do not recommend them. (Same comments as above.)
    Notes on all the current iMacs
    iMacs no longer come with built-in CD/DVD drives.  If you need one, you will need to purchase the Apple Superdrive accessory drive ($79)
    All of the iMac graphic processors (GPU's) are compatible with Adobe CS 4, 5.5, 6
    It is very difficult to impossible to change or upgrade the hard drive later on, so don't buy low-end thinking you can add a better internal hard drive later.
    Be aware that Macs always come with the latest (most recent) version of OS X.  And OS X Mavericks (10.9) is due to be released soon (in the next month or two).  There is no guarantee that the older Adobe CS 4 or 5.5 versions will run on OS X Mavericks.  If you cannot upgrade to CS 6 in the near future, you may want to purchase now rather than after OS X Mavericks is released.
    For what it's worth, I'd recommend the 27" iMac if your budget can afford it.  You will appreciate the larger screen size and added capabilities over the years you will use the computer.

    I tried to download itunes to my phone.First it wanted it to download the new itunes.We also updated our Windows xp.I kept coming up can't complete because there was an error when setting up.One time is was error 9 and they tried to help me.I have a laptop with the internet and we tried it there.We were able to get service pack 3 downloaded.So we did upgrade the itunes on the laptop even though I have never put music on there but there is some from someone .I never heard of many of the songs.Any how I did try to download and restore on the laptop and then come to the land computer and see if the box comes up to restore the  contacts.Well it didn 't work and now my phone won't even turn on .I have no one to call if something happened to me.I am going to the Apple store right off the bat tomorrow morning.I have everything in the box and the phone and reciept and see if they make it work or give me another one.I have to take my sim card again since They gave it back to me.I bet it means I can't sync the photos in the phone.Even with 2 computers and talking with 3 people it still did not work.All because I wanted to download the itunes to my phone.I don't care now if I can just get my phone to work and my contacts are in there.I hope I don't have to buy the ringtones again I bought 4 of them.Any one have this problem and what did you do to fix it?

    The Apple rep tried both those ideas and both failed. The rep was connected to my computer so she
    could see my screen and show me exactly what to do. My iPhone (not ipad) never has synced photos to my computer,
    I have to use explorer to copy and paste or cut and paste them to my PC . It is the syncing back to my iPhone of only the much smaller selected photos that used to sync in itunes but now the itunes sync button cannot be clicked to make that happen. And the reason I only sync back selected photos is that my total PC pictures file is about 40 Gb. Also I find it a lot more useful to have a small number of folders ( no sub-folders of course) so I can quickly locate on my iPhone pictures from different categories such as family, autos, etc. None of this posed any problems for over a year until just recently. I am reading on other threads of many people with other iTunes syncing problems, and wonder now if it is the latest iTunes updates that are causing the problems? While I have tried removing and reinstalling iTunes on my PC, I don't know how or if you can, install a previous version?

    I would like to know the solution for the below scenario for BRS:
    I have a customer who was maintaining their accounts with Tally software for their previous Financial Year. This year they have shifted to SAP B1 2005B. They have issued few cheques for their vendors in the month of march 2008 which has been realised in the month of April 2008. As per Tally, the closing balance of their bank is 8 Lakh but as per the bank statement, their closing balance is 23 Lakhs. In SAP, the opening Balance for the bank is considered as 23 Lakhs. Now there are 15 Lakh worth cheques which were not realised for the month of March 2008.
    Example:
    abc a/c - 3Lakh
    def a/c - 5lakh
    xyz a/c - 7 lakh
    How do i reconcile for this scenario and what procedures do i follow in SAP?

    PowerPC is the processor architecture that was used on Macs until about five years ago. Since then, the Mac platform has been based on Intel processors. Until the release of Lion, there was an emulation layer in the Mac OS called "Rosetta" that enabled legacy applications built for PowerPC to run. Rosetta isn't present in Lion; it can't be put back; and therefore PowerPC applications don't work in Lion.
    If your Mac shipped with an older version of the Mac OS, you can use your installation discs to install it on a partition of your internal drive, or on an external drive. Boot that installation when you need to use the PowerPC applications, and meanwhile prepare to migrate your data to newer software.
    If your Mac shipped with Lion, you can't run PowerPC applications.

  • I dropped my iphone 5c yesterday and when I picked it up, I noticed the screen popped out in the left corner, so I made an appointment with apple for this Saturday and I wanted to know if they're going to charge me for just popping the screen back in

    By the way, the phone works perfect, there's no scratches or cracks in the screen.  Everything works perfectly.

    Accidental damage is not covered under the warranty but if possible to reset the screen without causing additional damage, the Apple Store should do this without charging for it.
