We are a researc group in the Information Systems area. We are currently embarking on an exciting project that is aimed at helping Information Technology (IT) and Information System (IS) professionals keep up-to-date knowledge in an environment where technology changes so rapidly. It's certainly not coming from or commissioned by Apple. Our corporate security system blocks that web site as a malware/spyware/phishing site, so I'd say no, it's not legit, particularly since the name servers handling that site are in Russia. I'd advise avoiding that site, and definitely don't give them anything even remotely like personal information.

    I posted this earlier  but it is still applicable. 
    In terms of topics, one of the biggest issues facing companies is the transition to the new BOBJ reporting tools. Companies are unsure of their reporting roadmap as Bex is being phased out. So research related to how companies are approaching the transition would be very relevant. Also related to this is the decision processes related to reporting tool selection. SAP customers are being presented with a plethora of reporting tools. What are the factors used to decide which tools should be implemented?
    Another trend which is emerging is the establishment of BI Centres of Excellence or BI Competency Centres. Drivers, barriers, purpose etc would be relevant research.  Related to this is BI Maturity models.

  • Problem getting arraylist values from request

    Hi All,
    I am trying to display the results of a search request.
    In the jsp page when I add a scriplet and display the code I get the values else it returns empty as true.Any help is appreciated.

    What is ResearchResults?
    Is it a request parameter or is it a request attribute?
    Parameters and attributes are two different things.
    Request parameters: the values submitted from the form. Always String.
    Request attributes: objects stored into scope by your code.
    They are also accessed slightly differently in EL
    java syntax == EL syntax
    request.getParameter("myparameter") == ${param.myparameter}
    request.getAttribute("myAttribute") == ${requestScope.myAttribute}
    You are referencing the attribute in your scriptlet code, but the parameter in your JSTL/EL code.
    Which should it be?

  • Legal Counsel Regarding Employee Discount Program

    Has anyone sought legal counseling regarding the validation of the Employee Discount Program?  When I set up my account with Verizon and presented proper document, 3 years later I was informed that my discount was never applied.  I called & they opened up an EMEU research request for me.  Now, Verizon keeps on going back and forth that the plan I am on never qualified for the discount &/or that they can't assist me because the discount is now being applied (within up to 2-3 billing cycles) now that I have provided documentation again.  I have been working for the same company since I set up my Verizon Account.  On top of that, I tried contacting Customer Support twice today and having them disconnect on me both times!  Finally, I was able to get a hold of a Representative to give me corporate address and phone number to see if they could assist me.  Hopefully, before I reach out to legal counsel....

  • HT201270 last time I updated a version for the carrier; it screwed up my ringtones and contacts.  Research product before sending update request.

    What exactly are the updates for the carrier and what exactly what would the update improve. So far it is double talk for the update.  Apple was unable to assist why my ringtones disappeared, nor could Verizon confirm what update was sent or for.  Research before sending updates unknown of the consequences.

    In fairness, this isn't an issue in iPhoto 11 but one in your Library. Some file or other in there is damaged and that's what causes the crash during the upgrade.
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.  

  • Photoshop CS4: Could not complete your request because of a program error.

    Hello,
    I find myself in an interesting dilemma. I've had CS4 for a bunch of years now and have loved it. Unfortunately, my MacBook Pro's hard drive crashed a month or so back. Luckily, I have been using an external hard drive to back up my computer, so when it crashed, I lost very little in comparisson to some horror stories I've heard.
    My Ps was able to retuned to my new hard drive with virtually no problems. However, the error "Could not complete your request because of a program error" shows up in rapid succession 5-10 times after I select the text tool. Interestingly enough, if I weather that storm, I'm able to use all the fonts, actions, etc. with no problems. Originally, it was simply a nuissance that I dealt with, but it's beginning to hamper my work, especially today when I was on deadline.
    Doing some research and reading around the web and given the most culpable reason seems to be something wrong with a font, but I don't know which font I'm missing, need to update, whatever.
    So here's my question: how do I get this thing to go away? Is there some file or something like that buried in a backup that I didn't bring over to the new hard drive that's causing the problem. At first, I was just happy to have the thing working after the crash, but it's getting pretty annoying.

    Well, I don't know which fonts came from where, to be honest. It's kind of a mix of whatever I've done over the past 5+ years, if that makes sense.
    I'm perfectly fine deleting all the fonts and reinstalling just the ones needed for PsCS4 if there's a file of that.

  • Error Message: Could not complete your request because of a program error. when I try to save. help!

    I am getting this message when I try to save any of my photos (Photographer).   "Could not complete your request because of a program error."   Only when I try to save my photo though.  Ive tried doing some research but have had no luck with any of the possible solutions I have come accross.  Please help me solve this problem.

    Are Photoshop and OS fully updated?
    As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by keeping command-alt-shift pressed on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
    System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.

    Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
    If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem.

  • Can't view output for concurrent request

    I apologize if this is a common error - I tried to research this in the forums but didn't find anything that I haven't already tried. I checked the OPP - it is running with 3 processes - no error in the log that I can see. I checked the profile for the OPP timeout and have increased it....
    I have registered the data definition, registered and associated a template - created the concurrent program but when I try to run it completes with a warning and can't view output. The log states:

  • Advice Requested - High Availability WITHOUT Failover Clustering

    We're creating an entirely new Hyper-V virtualized environment on Server 2012 R2.  My question is:  Can we accomplish high availability WITHOUT using failover clustering?
    So, I don't really have anything AGAINST failover clustering, and we will happily use it if it's the right solution for us, but to be honest, we really don't want ANYTHING to happen automatically when it comes to failover.  Here's what I mean:
    In this new environment, we have architected 2 identical, very capable Hyper-V physical hosts, each of which will run several VMs comprising the equivalent of a scaled-back version of our entire environment.  In other words, there is at least a domain
    controller, multiple web servers, and a (mirrored/HA/AlwaysOn) SQL Server 2012 VM running on each host, along with a few other miscellaneous one-off worker-bee VMs doing things like system monitoring.  The SQL Server VM on each host has about 75% of the
    physical memory resources dedicated to it (for performance reasons).  We need pretty much the full horsepower of both machines up and going at all times under normal conditions.
    So now, to high availability.  The standard approach is to use failover clustering, but I am concerned that if these hosts are clustered, we'll have the equivalent of just 50% hardware capacity going at all times, with full failover in place of course
    (we are using an iSCSI SAN for storage).
    BUT, if these hosts are NOT clustered, and one of them is suddenly switched off, experiences some kind of catastrophic failure, or simply needs to be rebooted while applying WSUS patches, the SQL Server HA will fail over (so all databases will remain up
    and going on the surviving VM), and the environment would continue functioning at somewhat reduced capacity until the failed host is restarted.  With this approach, it seems to me that we would be running at 100% for the most part, and running at 50%
    or so only in the event of a major failure, rather than running at 50% ALL the time.
    Of course, in the event of a catastrophic failure, I'm also thinking that the one-off worker-bee VMs could be replicated to the alternate host so they could be started on the surviving host if needed during a long-term outage.
    So basically, I am very interested in the thoughts of others with experience regarding taking this approach to Hyper-V architecture, as it seems as if failover clustering is almost a given when it comes to best practices and high availability.  I guess
    I'm looking for validation on my thinking.
    So what do you think?  What am I missing or forgetting?  What will we LOSE if we go with a NON-clustered high-availability environment as I've described it?

    Yes your responses are very helpful.
    Can we use the built-in Server 2012 iSCSI Target Server role to convert the local RAID disks into an iSCSI LUN that the VMs could access?  Or can that not run on the same physical box as the Hyper-V host?  I guess if the physical box goes down
    the LUN would go down anyway, huh?  Or can I cluster that role (iSCSI target) as well?  If not, do you have any other specific product suggestions I can research, or do I just end up wasting this 12TB of local disk storage?

    That's a bad idea. First of all Microsoft iSCSI target is slow (it's non-cached @ server side). So if you really decided to use dedicated hardware for storage (maybe you do have a reason I don't know...) and if you're fine with your storage being a single
    point of failure (OK, maybe your RTOs and RPOs are fair enough) then at least use SMB share. SMB at least does cache I/O on both client and server sides and also you can use Storage Spaces as a back end of it (non-clustered) so read "write back flash cache

    Yes you can cluster iSCSI target from Microsoft but a) it would be SLOW as there would be only active-passive I/O model (no real use from MPIO between multiple hosts) and b) that would require a shared storage for Windows Cluster. What for? Scenario was
    usable with a) there was no virtual FC so guest VM cluster could not use FC LUs and b) there was no shared VHDX so SAS could not be used for guest VM cluster as well. Now both are present so scenario is useless: just export your existing shared storage without
    any Microsoft iSCSI target and you'll be happy. For references see:

    Storage requirements depend on the clustered roles that run on the cluster. Most clustered roles use clustered storage, where the storage is available on any cluster node that runs a clustered

    I have been speaking with Verizon since Thursday, April 2, 2015 regarding my dissatisfaction and possible departure from Verizon.  As a valued Verizon customer of over a decade I would like Verizon to know that they have failed me as a customer!  I have lost confidence in the structure of customer support and have not only been lied to, hung up on and misinformed by your representatives.  With that said, I did speak to an outstanding representative on April 2, 2015 who was knowledgeable and very helpful (Brianna).  After discussions regarding my desires to possibly upgrade early as I am not due until October 2015 we discussed a resolution of allowing me to upgrade now with a 2 year contract verses the Edge program.  We also very educationally discussed the differences between both programs as well as the advantages and disadvantages of both.  I absolutely do not wish to ever go on the Edge program and Brianna was amazing at understanding my reasons which I will not discuss on this form out of respect for Verizon but would love to express why verbally when and if I am contacted by someone with the authority to make my situation right.  I explained to Brianna that Sprint was offering a 2 year contract with the phone I wanted to upgrade to (which by the way is NOT the latest and greatest phone) for free.  I asked Brianna if Verizon would be willing to extent the same offer and I would maintain my business relationship and loyalty to Verizon.  A small gesture for a valued customer in my most humble opinion!  Brianna said that she believed this could happen and that at minimum I could up grade now and pay the 2 year pricing for the phone of choice.  She said that she would have her supervisor approve and get back with me within 24 hours.  This never happened, so I called back to the customer service after the 24 hour period had expired.  I was received by Shawness who was helpful and kind.  After reading the notes on my account and understanding my request she said that she could forward my call to the correct department to assist.  Well, I was forwarded to a young lady named Christina who works in the "financial services" department...not at all a department to help my situation.  Christina then said she could forward me to the correct department and I was one hold for approximately 10 minutes only to be hung up on.  At this point I have spent approximately over an hour trying to resolve this issue after being told that a supervisor would return my call the day prior...which still to date has not happened.
    A few hours passed and I am now calmed down enough to attempt another call to Verizon Customer Server.  I was received by an amazing representative named Emma who stated that she would try to assist and would put me on a brief hold while reading my account notes.  She came back on the line and was extremely helpful.  She said that she was able to offer the 2 year plan upgrade now and we went through the entire process of ordering my new phone.  We picked out the phone color, size, etc.  She asked about phone protection options and if I wanted any accessory purchased now.  We joked about how we both like to wait and purchase in the store since we could touch, see and feel them personally.  I confirmed once more that this was NOT the Edge program upgrade and Emma confirmed in deed it was not and that it was the same 2 year contract program that I was on.  At this point we discussed that it would be shipped out 2 day service and I would receive the phone on Monday, April 6th.  I asked her if this also included the AT&T price matching on the phone.  She said no that the phone was $99 but she could send a message to Brianna's supervisor to confirm they would honor the competitive matching.  Emma said that I would receive an email or text message within the next 2 hours with the order confirmation and that I should give it 2-3 hours until I saw it on my on-line account.  I waited 3 hours and never received any form of communication from Verizon.
    I am now 2 hours into resolving my issues and am having to call back again because no one from Verizon contacted me as promised.  I called back and was absolutely appalled at the level of customer service I received.  I will not release her name as I feel it is inappropriate in this forum, however I would very much like to discuss when and if I am finally contacted as promised.  To continue, not only was the young lady rude, but she informed me that nothing I had discussed with Brianna or Emma was noted and that there was not order on hold for me.  I asked if I could speak with her supervisor and she said that they were busy and I could not speak to them.  After about 30 minutes of explaining everything to this representative she would speak over me and rudely reply with "you aren't eligible for an upgrade until October"...meanwhile I am still waiting to speak to her supervisor as requested multiple times during this call.  Finally I asked her if she could at least approve the upgrade 2 year plan now and I would pay the $99 for the phone I wanted as I was now 3 hours into resolving and issue.  She put me on hold and magically was able to speak to this supervisor who was initially unreachable for me to speak with...hmmm?  She came back and offered the Edge program.  Now I am beyond frustrated as I have spent hours of my personal time away from my family trying to resolve this issue and she offers me something that is clearly noted in my account that I do not want.  I asked again to speak to her supervisor or any verizon supervisor at this point.  She said that there was only one and they were too busy to speak to me and she could have them call me back.  Well, I've been waiting for someone to call be back for over a day now and still nothing so I asked if I could hold.  She said no that she could have them call me back.  I asked if she could message Emma so that I could speak back to her to see what went wrong or if Emma heard back from Brianna's supervisor yet to approve my holding order.  This rep said they had no way to message other reps nor did she see anything in my account to contact Emma or Brianna.  I asked how Emma was able to do it and if she was saying that Emma flat out lied to me about messaging Brianna's rep.  There is SO much more to this story with this rep, however I believe this is enough to get the point across.  Eventually, I was put on hold by this rep and hung up on...AGAIN.
    I called back immediately and was blessed with speaking to Lidia.  She was very kind and attempted to help me resolve these issues.  Eventually she transferred me to her supervisor, Griselda.  Both of these ladies were very compassionate about the way I had been treated by the previous rep and Griselda was concerned that this rep had lied to me about being able to message other reps and the comments made about not speaking to her supervisor.  The bottom line right now is that Griselda says she does not have the authority to provide me with my 2 year upgrade eligibility right now nor is she able to price match without her supervisors approval.  She assured me that her supervisor, Vin, would give me a call on Monday (the very say I was suppose to be receiving my new phone according to Emma).  I asked her to at least pull the phone records from my calls with Brianna and Emma as well as the insanely rude rep to confirm what Verizon has promised me and to right this terrible wrong.  She said she will not be back to work until Wednesday, April 8th and would have to pull the phone records and review them so I wouldn't hear back from her until April 9th.  I sincerely appreciate Griselda and Lidia's efforts.  It is representative and supervisors like Brianna, Emma, Griselda and Lidia who keep me loyal to Verizon Wireless!!
    I am asking SOMEONE within Verizon Wireless Customer Service to contact me directly to attempt to resolve this travesty...Verizon Wireless...I am an outstanding customer and provide praise and recommendations to your company for wireless service to the many people I come in contact with...right now...I do not feel valued as a human, much less your customer...you have failed me.  I would like for someone to attempt to make this right...

  • ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested

    While connecting "sqlplus SYSADM/SYSADM@HCM" I am getting the below error:

    Installation background:
    Windows 7 l(64-bit) laptop.
    Created linux virtualbox to installl peoplesoft VM templates.
    so far installed: Oracle11gR2.vdi and HCMDB.vdi on the linux virtualbox.

    My guess is that the database service "HCM" is not up and running but not sure how to make up and running. Even I could not find it listed in the linux services list.

    I have no luck and the error still persists.
    I have set the "export ORACLE_SID=HCM" from root user and oracle user too.
    I guess, I have already loaded database when I ran the "cd /opt/oracle/psft/vm

    Kumar - I have found no sqlnet.ora file exist in the $ORACLE_HOME/NETWORK/ADMIN

  • How to tell if the AE programm is called from (1) SYSTEM PROCESS REQUEST or (2) page run control request

    We just wrote an AE program and is called through the vanilla SYSTEM PROCESS REQUEST.
    It's running on a daily basis ie. with RECURRENCE.
    Now we need to call the same program through the regular page run control request.
    But we are not how to recognize from inside the AE program if whether it's been called from SYSTEM PROCESS REQUEST or RUN CONTROL REQUEST.
    Any of you might have suggestion ?
    Any technique or workaround is also appreciated.

    This AE pgm is currently automatically called from SYSTEM PROCESS REQUEST on a daily basis to load data from an input file deposited on the server ready for pickup.
    We would like to use the same AE pgm ( thus using the same validation and loading logic ) to load the same file format but defined by the user ( via attachment load ) as needed any time during the day.
    The user will initiate this AE pgm online ( ie. from a page with his parameters ).
    Currently, the pgm now already runs automatically daily and we wish to make it also available to be run by user anytime in the day
    To achieve that, we would need to know:
    Is the AE pgm ran by (a) the user or by the (b) SYSTEM PROCESS REQUEST so that the program can decide of where to take input file.
    (a) Take from an attachment defined by user or (b) from the input file already deposited on the server for pickup
    That is the reason why we try to detect who called the AE pgm in order decide where to pickup the input file.
    Your help is much appreciated as I do researches but so far haven't gotten a concluded decision.

  • AddRequestObject has been deprecated while adding a resouce to a request

    Hi Friends,
    I have created a schedule task to create a request and to add users to it and also to provision a resource to the user. It is creating a request and adding a user successfully.
    But while adding resource to the request by using the correct request key and object key, I am getting a compilation error.
    This is the statment I am giving "requestIntf.addRequestObject(reqkey,objkey);"
    I am getting the compilation error as "addRequestObkect(reqkey, objkey) in Thor.API.Operations.tcRequestOperationsIntf has been deprecated"
    Did research in google but did not find anything. Can you please let me know what I am doing wrong.

  • ITunes Store error msg: We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50).

    So I began having trouble connecting to the iTunes store with my computer about a month ago. It was working fine, I purchased and downloaded some music, and then the next day I got this message when I clicked on the iTunes Store: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
    Some basic facts about my computer:
    Mac OS X 10.7.3, purchased in May '12.
    iTunes is updated to the latest 10.6.3 version.
    I have Sophos Anti-Virus (newly installed in the last two weeks).
    No firewalls are set up.
    Parental controls are not blocking anything (don't have them set up).
    Internet connection is fine, no matter how I connect.
    I did have an older version of iTunes (the previous version, so it wasn't that old) when the problem began, so I updated to the newest version hoping it would fix it; but it hasn't. I have checked the firewalls per apple community posts. I have checked the network connection. I only just put on an Anti-Virus (and the problem was pre-AV, so it shouldn't be that). I FINALLY figured out how to uninstall iTunes, and then I reinstalled it. The store still won't open, giving me the same message. 
    A little more research seems to show that the (-50) error is when it times out? But the message appears barely half a second after I click on the iTunes Store icon. It doesn't seem to even try; there isn't enough time to warrant a 'timing out'.
    I am at a loss. At this point I am considering taking my computer in and telling them 'fix it, no matter what', but if I can avoid the hassle of being without my one and only computer for at LEAST a week, that would be great.
    Does anyone have any ideas?!
