  • Can charts in JavaFX SDK include 3D type (x, y, z axis)?

Can charts in JavaFX SDK include 3D type (x, y, z axis)? It is to say the XYZChart.

Yes, but you have to develop them yourself (none of the standard built in charts are 3d charts).
Here is a really old example of a 3D pie chart.
    https://gist.github.com/jewelsea/1485144
As features have been added to JavaFX, there are better ways to implement such charts today.
For 3D work, you are best off working with a JDK8 release.

  • How to Include JRE with our Setup Package

    please help me,
i have created one swing application.i successfully created setup.exe using installsheild 11.It is working in my machine.when i run this in another machine .it is not working.iam using some external jar also in the appln.i put that jars into the jre/lib/ext in destination machine's directory then it works.
i want to include JRE with my setup package(first the setup should find whether the jre is installed or not ,if not it must insall JRE and put my external jar files into jre/lib/ext directory in destination machine then only my appln should insall).please give me a solution for this

What?!! It isn't considered legal to access a
root-level class from a higher level package?Well it's not now because your code won't compile, but
prior to 1.4 you could. I think the JLS has been
updated to say you can't import from the unnamed
namespace.Hmm! I must have missed that bit (not that I read it in any great detail, anyway!). I suppose it forces you to use packages, which is a good thing, IMHO.
What I was wondering about was, is the directory structure of classes strictly necessary, given that a class contains information on its package anyway? I know some IDEs don't require the source files to be in the right directory - they will check on the package statement, and locate the class file accordingly - but is it absolutely necessary for class files to be located according to their directory structure? I know the JLS says they have to be, but could the JLS be relaxed on this point, without breaking anything?

  • What is SDK and JRE

What are these two things. I have installed java and it works but I don't know what I have installed. I am confused about wht SDK and JRE are.
    Thanks,

    Hi
Well...SDK stands for Software Development Kit
and JRE stands for Java Runtime Environment.......
so the JRE is part of the SDK......
SDK contains for instance the java API, the compilers and the applet viewer
JRE contains the virtual machine needed to run java code
Enough info yet???? otherwise...look around at the SUN : )

  • SDK, JDK, JRE,

    Hi everyone,
I'm very very new to Java etc. I want to learn JSP/Servlets.
Now I see I need to install software, I see things as SDK, JDK, JRE what is this all? What do I need?
I tried to find the info but there is so much information I'm not sure what I'm looking at. So I thought if there is any expert here that can clearly explain what the difference is between SDK, JDK, JRE.
    Thank you very much!!
    Regards,
    Steven.

JDK:     When you download Java, you will get a couple of tools: the compiler, a tool to generate documentation, a tool to change security settings and a tool to run compiled Java programs (class files). All of these tools bundled together is called the Java Development Kit (JDK). If you want to create your own Java program, this is what you need. Later we will show you where you can get the JDK, and how you should use it.
SDK:      Since the introduction of JDK version 1.2, a different name is used for the Java Development Kit: Java 2 Software Development Kit (SDK).
JRE:      The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is part of the JDK. It contains only those tools that are needed to run java programs. It does not contain the compiler. Therefore it is a lot smaller than the JDK. If you develop a Java program for someone else, you are allowed to give him the program and the JRE so he can run your program. Officially you are not allowed to distribute the JDK, but anyone can download it freely from internet. The JRE for Windows also contains the Java plugin.

  • SDK and JRE?

what is difference ebwteen Java SDK and JRE? do we need to install both?

The answer to the first part is 'Software Development Kit' and 'Java Run-time Environment.'
The answer to the second part is, of course, 'it depends.' To make use of other folks' Java apps and wonderful things like Java WebStart you need to have the JRE installed. To do some developing of your own little goodies, er... beans, er... applets, you'll need to install both.

  • Missing NSGeometry.h in SDK - included in simulator SDK

    Hello all,
I am working on my first iPhone game, and have been working in the simulator until today where I got my developer program activated.
Compiling the game for the device for the first time gives me a weird error about not being able to link NSMakePoint method.
So I dig into this, and it turns out that the iPhone SDK foundation framework is missing the NSGeometry.h (as well as a few other), which are included in the simulator SDK.
I've only found one other post about this
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1600790&tstart=30
    Which didnt really solve it.
So I wondered if this is a known issue, and something that is reported + acknowledged to get fixed.
    Looking at the documentation here
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Reference/Foundation/Miscellaneou s/Foundation_Functions/Reference/reference.html
it should be part of the foundation framework, so there is definitely a bug here.
    Best regards
    Thomas

I hit this one too (@_@).
You can #define NSPoint CGPoint and that will get you some mileage. For the NSGeometry items, I have used the pattern of #define NSPointInRect(p, r) CGRectContainsPoint(r, p) (or whatever the actual names are; I don't recall). That isn't super cool, but if you only use a few routines it may be enough.
I'm not certain about the archiving issue. You may be able to convert to NSData or NSValue and archive that. Or possibly NSString.
As far as things working in the simulator and not the device, I have found a number of them including NSSocketPort, NSSocketPortNameServer, NSConnection, NSHost which either are not there or only have diminished capability. I am -assuming/hoping- that these will be incorporated into a future revision(s) of the iPhone OS... But I have no way to know.

  • Include jre when deploying

Hi, I don't know whether this is the right forum for such a question nor if it is possible at all. We are facing the suitation where we have to deploy an application running on java5 to workstations (win98,win2000,winXP) who only have jre1.4 installed. We are not allowed to install java5 and would like to package the jre5 with our application. Is this possible at all? How would one do that? Any pointers would be very appreciated. Thanks Tom

Deploying the JRE with your application is simple. The JRE on windows is usually saved on the hard drive in:
    C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.5.xx or something similar.
All you need to do is include that entire directory with your app and access the javaw command via a relative path from a .bat file or small .exe to start your app.
You should check the following link as it will show you how to oragnise your directory structure and you can download a free program which will give you a small .exe that will invoke the VM and start your app.
    http://www.rolemaker.dk/nonRoleMaker/javalauncher/marner_java_launcher.htm
The whole directory containing your .jar/.class files and the JRE can then be zipped up and put onto to target machines or you could use any standard installer if it's going to be installed by non tech people.
Using this method you won't disturb the 1.4 java installation on the target machines. I deploy my apps this way. If you have any problems let me know

  • SDK and JRE keep Currupting

I've been trying to download the JRE and the SDK but whenever I double click the set up files I get an error message saying the file has been currupted and I have to redownload it. I've tried redownloading a number of times and I get the same problem everytime.
    I've tried:
    -Redownloading
    -Redownloading off a different site
    -Turning off firewall
-Not using Get Right to download the files
Any1 know how to solve this? By the way Im on 56k so I dont really want to download the SDK again, I've already redownloaded a number of times.

I've been trying to install the 1.41 Windows SDK (using Win 2k right now), and I've been getting the same error. I also received the error in XP last night when that's what I had on my system. :) Not sure what's going on. I have instaleld another version before, last summer, with total success.

  • QA Application with SDK or JRE

We currenty QA and certify our application using the J2SE SDK. A customer asked that we certify it with the JRE. Is that really necessary? Is there any difference in the runtime between the JRE and SDK that would require another regression of testing?

Theoretically yes: the JRE has classes that are compiled without debug options and the SDK (with the very same version) has a JRE that has classes compiled with debug options. But in practice, this doesn't make any difference. But as you can never be sure to save yourself from a falling meteor, keep testing with the JRE again ;-)

  • How to include jre and program in an installer?

How do I configure the 1.5 Java Web Start to recognize 1.3.1 ??

thanks Andrew. The Apple version of Java Control Panel for 1.5 doesn't have an equivalent to "JNLP Preferences" tab ... that's exactly what I'm looking for ...
Well - I think I found the answer to my problem:
http://developer.apple.com/java/faq/development.html#anchor1 says "Please note that Java 1.3 is not supported on Intel-based Macs; J2SE 1.4 and 5.0 (1.5) are supported. "

  • SDK Included in B1 License?

I'm investigating whether or not Business One would be a good fit for us.  It appears that the SDK is only available to certified ISVs.  Is it also available to companies that own a license so that they may develop their own add-ons and integrations in house?  If we wanted to develop an add-on in house would we have to get partnered and certified?
    Thanks,
    Zack

    Hi,
actually i got the feeling that you don't need to be certificated or be a partner for developing your own addon.
i think the primary point is that you develop the addon for yourself and don't sell it.
i know some companies that developed their own inhouse addons.
i recommend you to contact a partner in your area.
