Is setCurrentRowWithKey Only for ADF-Tables?

Hi,
Could any one please tell me if 'SetCurrentRowWithKey' and 'SetCurrentRowWithKeyValue' are only useful when there is a adf table?
Is it not useful when I have a adf form and want to navigate to another page by setting the current row?
I was trying to learn from Need Help with CommandLink Passing rowKeyStr to 2nd JSPX Page But here it is explained only for the adf table and also it uses the same VO for both the pages. In my case I use two different VOs.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,
since this method is called on teh ADF binding it is available for forms as well. With tables its kind of easy to use because the rowkey string can be obtained directly from a table

I am fetching data for PO details, GR details along with condition types of PO.
All data is collected in ALV OUTPUT itab, after this I am trying to assign the values of VAT from another itab in ALV OUTPUT LOOP using READ TABLE with reference to PO-PO_ITEM-CONDITION_TYPE.
Now, when the alv loop is getting executed and in that I am fetching data for VAT using READ statement, the program is assigning VAT to all records of output alv with comparison of PO-PO_ITEM-CONDITION_TYPE.

ADF 11g How to create the custom FilterableQueryDescriptor for adf table

I have the same issue: chaging the background color of some column headers.
My application is using a custom skinning and when i had headerClass property with a custom class defined in a separate css file, the page generated specified first the class from the skinning and then my new class definition. But my skinning is specifying a background color so the color is not overriden. Any idea?

Standalone Weblogic deployment not working for ADF Table

Hi All,
I have create one application using JDeveloper 11g R3. I have taken one ADF Rich Table
When i run application in Jdeveloper it runs fine.
Now issue is when i deployee the same in standalone Weblogic server it is not running(Page gets open but table dosent display).
But when i use same datacontrol and drag it as ADF Form it is working fine.
Also weblogic server is not showing any logs.
Please suggest.

Replicating DDL, but only for ALTER TABLE/CREATE TABLE

We're looking to use Streams to replicate our database, for Warehouse use. We're not looking to use any ETL, but rather copy the table structures & data over identically as they appear in the source database. We'll add indexes in a custom step. Otherwise, though, we don't need TRIGGERs, PROCs, VIEWs etc.
Is this possible in Streams? Probably asking if it's possible is the wrong question ... Is this something that is normally done, or does it bring with it a significant amount of complexity, plus some extra things to note (like, "..don't forget TRUNCATE also...")

So, if our intent is to copy over all tables in a specified list of shemas, in their current form, and then we wanted to capture:
INSERTs
UPDATEs
DELETEs
TRUNCATE TABLE
ALTER TABLE (but excluding anything related to CONSTRAINTS)
(... I'm thinking that's all we'd need to keep a copy of the main db in the warehouse, without a DBA having to "retouch" the warehouse to keep it in sync ...)
Would that be considered a complicated configuration? The ALTER TABLE piece sounds picky enough, that it could be a headache ... but I'm thinking the Oracle reps were being pushy about the amount effort needed to set this environment up.

Customising ADF table

Hi everyone,
is it possible to move/replace the first few columns of an ADF read-only table with the next few columns on clicking a icon/link/command button. And the icon/link/command button be placed in the column header of ADF table. i am looking to achieve carousel kind of feature for ADF table where first 10 columns get replaced with the next 10 columns.
i want to achieve the columns of adf table to move to and fro on click of icon/link that is placed in the 2nd and last column of ADF table Header.

Pagination won't help you as it is used to load more rows and not columns.
What is your jdev version?
What comes to mind is to use a panel collection where you put your table into.The panel collection allows you to show and hide columns of a table. Using you two buttons you hide the currently shown columns and show the next columns.

ADF Table with CheckBox - Select/deselect issue

I have seen couple of threads and blogs for ADF table with check box . but none of them exactly matching with my requirement . My Database table does not have any field for check box .
Here is my DB Table

A_Id
A_Name
tableB*

Requirements :*
1. Display the above tables data with Checkbox . ( if A_Id = B_Id then the checkbox will be checked , else unchecked ) .
2. Select / deselect the check box and save the data . Saving the data , will update only tableB . i,e when a new check box is selected then A_Id value will be inserted to tableB . Similarly , deselecting a checked in data will remove the entry from tableB.
Development :
1. Created a VO where tableB has marked as updateable .
2. Created a transient Boolean variable for checkBox . and modified the getter method of checkbox for returning true/false based on the below condition in the ViewRowImpl Class .
if ( A_Id = B_Id )
return true;
else false ;
3. I have not modified the setter method .
Using the above concept i can view the data with selected checkbox . but the problem is to save the data . because , when I select a checkbox the above coding in the getter method will return false .
Therefore , though i am selecting the checkbox but value of the checkbox has been set as false .
While saving the Data , I am iterating through the VOIterator and observed that a newly selected checkbox value is false . and realized its because of the getter method condition .
Can you please suggest how can I overcome this issue or shall I need to take any other approach ?

You need to go through the ADF page life cycle concepts. In simple words the boolean value in the model is not set while in valueChangeListener. Try adding valueChangeEvent.getComponent().processUpdates(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance()); on top in your listener method and see the effect.

Problem with adf tables in dynamyc region

Hello.
I have a problem when use ADF tables within dynamic regions. It happens that if the table is inside the first task flow that is loaded (by default) in the dynamic region, retrieves the data perfectly, but if the table is in a second, third and so on. task flow, does not retrieve data. This happens only with adf tables and graphics, if I use a component form, for example, does not present any problem.
Any idea that can be happening?
I'm using Jdveloper 11.1.1.1.0
Appreciate any ideas or help with this problem

How to get the Horizontal Scroll Bar for a Table?

Hi All,
As per my requirement, I am displaying several records in a Screen in a Tabular Format. But here I have to show 21 Columns in that table which is too high. I am able to display it but due to it I am getting a Horizontal scroll bar for the whole screen since all the columns are not getting displayed in the normal window screen space. But its looking too odd since once I am scrolling it to right the columns are getting displayed but the above Header Bar and Global buttons are not displaying, they are bound to the normal screen space.
Is there a way to have a Horizontal scroll bar only for that table instead of the entire screen so that on scrolling that bar only the table rows will beshifted ant got displayed?

include a raw text item before and table item.

Activate change logs for the table V_T007K

Hi,
Change log check box is activated in table and change logs is activated in system. But still I am not able to view any change logs recorded for the table V_T007K using SCU3 transaction.
I tried by changing some data and than checked the SCu3 transaction. nothing is recorded against the table.
Please let me know what needs to be done to capture the change logs for the changes done to the data in the table V_T007k table.

The table u mentioned V_T007k is not a transparent table
.its a view only for views u cant track changes.
But only for transparent tables u can only track changes thru SCU3
Also u can find the changes in a table from SAP TABLE
CDHDR and CDPOS.

is it possible to use a select statement to select data from an internal table? if yes, can anyone show me the codes to it? thx

You use SELECT statement to read data from database table but not from Internal table.
For reading data from Internal table, you have to use READ statement.
Syntax:
READ TABLE itab { table_key
| free_key
| index } result.
Effect of using read statement:
This statement reads a row from internal table itab. You have to specify the row by either naming values table_key for the table key, a free condition free_key or an index index. The latter choice is possible only for index tables. The output result result determines when and where the row contents are read.
If the row to be read is not uniquely specified, the first suitable row is read. In the case of index tables, this row has the lowest table index of all matching rows.
