Is "starting" a counter the same as "arming" it?

Hi everyone,
I am trying to understand why I get unexpected behavior with my VI and counter output.
I am outputting 3 single,triggered pulses: 2 on a 6602 (1 each on counters 0 and 1), and 1 on GPCTR0 on a 6071E.
The second pulse on the 6602 (on counter 1) is supposed to immediately pulse after the first pulse (on counter 0) is finished pulsing.
GPCTR0 is a pulse used to start my data acquisition, and occurs before the first pulse from the 6602.
All three counters share a common hardware trigger, a repeating 120Hz pulse, synced to some of my other hardware. This train of triggers arrive only after I switch a DIO line (on yet another card, a 6503), and this DIO line is turned on the a sequence frame after the frame in which I set up and "start" my counters (with control.vi set to "start").
Now here's the problem I encounter:
*most* of the time (~4/5 times) I get the output I want from the 6602, 1 pulse right after the other. But every once in a while, I get the pulses ~8 ms apart--that is, counters 0 and 1 are triggering off different trigger pulses in the 120Hz I send to the gates. So one of my counters is somehow missing seeing the start trigger that another counter sees.
How can this be? If all counters are already started, shouldn't the same start-trigger trigger all of the counting operations at once?!
Also problematic, every once in a while, counter 0 is missing the first hardware trigger, but triggers on the second trigger of the 120 Hz trigger pulses. So it seems my problem is that the counters are sometimes just missing seeing the triggers.
Any ideas? I posted my VI. The relevant portions are in big frame3, inner frames 3 and 5. (frame 3 configures and starts all counters. frame 5 turns on my hardware triggers).
thanks in advance for any help!

I have an iMac 5.1 with Mac OSX 10.6.8 and 2 GB memory and an L2 cache of 4 GB.   lately I have been receiving error messages of " start up disk almost full; please delete files." is the start up disk the same thing as the hard drive?  I opened the hard drive and from the column on the left of the menu I've selected "search for" and under that " all images" then "all documents"  I've deleted a few files from each. Are documents and images that I have deleted from here also deleted from the folders on my desktop?

You should never, EVER let a conputer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Delete any other mail in your Junk folders. Also, look through your Sent Mail to see if there is anything that can be deleted.
Other things you can do to gain space.
Once you have around 15 GBs regained, do a search, download and install OmniDisk Sweeper.
This app will help you locate files that you can move/archive and/or delete from your system.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

Been using an Avastor HDX-800 for storage and backup, also a SUPERDISK for smaller stuff; recently the SUPERDISK does not appear on the screen, and the light blinks while you hear it spin, also the Avastor has started to have the same problem, both USB conncected, both worked well before, but both now spinning, blinking, and not showing up on the screen as before,
Interestingly they both appear in the System Profiler, but just not working the same as before
I have tried other USB ports, but the same responce,

yes I did reset the PRAM, but no benefit, still the same problem
my usb devices are:  keyboard, mouse, printer, SD-USB-M3, and LaCie d2 DVDRW:
the mouse and printed are plugged into the keyboard: i have tried to move, these around, and have even tried just the mouse, printer and SD-USB-M3, but still the same problem

  • Getting two midi threads to start at exactly the same time

Hello, is it possible to get two threads to start at exactly the same time because when I start two threads or more at the same time that playback midi using a synthesizer, they never start at exactly the same time.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Use the Behavior framework for making changes in the scene. This uses an internal j3d thread which is in sync with the rendering thread.
See chapter 4 (Interaction) and 5 (Animation) in the 2nd module of the j3d tutorial (this may not be the correct chapters, since i have a rather old version of the tutorial)

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    * Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

  • Counting the same combination??

    HELLO,
    I have a table t
    create table t
    (quiz_ID number,
    class_id number,
    student_id number,
    score number)
    SQL> select * from t
    quiz_ID   class_id   student_id  score
    1                2      12       34
    1                2      21       134
    1                2      124      0
    1                3      11       21
    1                3      2        99
    1                3      22       87
    2                2      12       7
    2                2      21       13
    2                2      124      42
    2                3      11       21
    2                3      2        99
    2                3      28       87here quiz_id,class_id , student_id are jointly primary keys.
Each quiz is taken by two classes with three students each.
For example, in above data for quiz_ID = 1, two classes 2 and 3 took that quiz and for each of the classes three students apppeared. The same pattern is followed in the rest of the table.
    my requirement is to find out;
    1. How many times the same set of student_ids' from their respective class took a quiz
    2. How many times the same set of student_ids' from both classes combined took a quiz
    so my desired output is for requirement 1 is;
    QUIZ_ID  COUNT(SAME_SET)  CLASS_ID  ST_1  ST_2  ST_3  SUM(SCORE)
                                         ID   ID   _ID
    1,2      2                2         12      21   124  230
    1        1                3         11      2     22  207Here,
Quiz_id is the respective quiz_id's in which same set (i.e same student_id's) of students participated for their class. Thus, in quiz_id = 1 and 2, student_id 12, 21 and 124 particpated for their class respectively. The quiz_ids, for which the same set of studnets appeared in the quiz, should be seperated by commas.
Count(same_set) is the no. of times the same set of students form a class appeared in a quiz.
Class_id is the class_id of the repective set of students
st_1_id, st_2_id and st_3_id are the student_ids who took the quiz joinlty
SUM(SCORE) is ths sum of scores all the three students in quizes in which they appeared together
    My desired output is for requirement 2 is;
    2. How many times the same set of student_ids' from both classes combined took a quiz
    QUIZ_ID  COUNT  CLASS_ID  ST_1 ST_2  ST_3  ST_4 ST_5 ST_6 SUM
             (SET)                                           (score)
    1        1      2,3       12   21   124    11    2   22   375
    2        1      2,3       12   21   124    11    2   28   269Here,
Quiz_id is the respective quiz_id(s) in which same set of students participated for both class. in the data I provided, no two quizes were taken by any same combination of six students so quiz 1 has only one occurance. Here also the quiz_ids, for which the same set of studnets appeared in the quiz, should be seperated by commas.
Count(set) is the no. of times the same set of students appeared in a quiz
Class_id is the class_id of the repective set of students, seprated by comma
st_1_id....st_6_id are the student_ids who took the same quiz for one or more times
SUM(SCORE) is ths sum of scores all the six students in quizes in which they appeared together.

  • Problems with 10049- start menu remains the same, flash crashes, spartan crashes

I updated from 10041, I cannot open start menu at first. After I restarted several times, I can open it but it seems to be the same with old version. I tried Spartan using the search function, and it always crash the time it opens.
Another problem I found is that I cannot use flash in all programs, it always said it crashed.
Additionally, the system becomes really slow compared with older versions.
    Thank you for your help

    Hi whOWe,
Please submit what you have encountered through Windows Feedback.
Take a try with the command suggested by team zigzag, run the following command first:
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:X:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess
Where the X: is the mounted drive using the downloaded Windows 10 build 10041 ISO ifle.
    See this thread for reference:
The "new" dism and sfc  methods do not work
    for me
    Best regards

  • HT201263 ok, I did the above, and I waited 2 hours for this to download the "update." Then I try it again on the ipod, and it starts to redo the same download all over again !

I started the update, and in the middle of it, the same previous screen pops up that it can't connect to the ipod, and the ipod screen goes back to "disabled." I waited it out, let the download finish. Then I had to try the process over again, and it started the download all over again, even though I just did that. Another two hours??? This is driving me mad. All for a stupid password ! How do I reset this dang thing, so I can open it. Bad enough I have to re do everything, because I have to restore it. PLEASE HELP !
Just wanted to add that apparently the ipod is disconnecting and reconnecting to the computer somehow. I know because when you plug in the ipod, the computer makes a noise, as with any hardware. Well I click on "restore," agree to the restore, then it starts to download the update. A few minutes later, I hear the computer make the same noise, as if I have disconnected the ipod, even though I haven't even touched the cord. Then it makes the sound again, as being reconnected or plugged in, then the message pops up that it can't be connected, because a password has to be entered. The ipod screen then goes from the restore picture ( the itunes logo with usb cord) to the same "disabled, connect to itunes."
I am not trying a different cord and seeing if that helps the plugged in portion.

Do a manual install using the instructions here.
have you download the update/firmware, place the iPod in recovery mode and then update/restore using the instructions in the article.

  • I have a macpro quad, suddenly using flash it freeze and pink dots went all over the screen, I tried re-starting it but the same pink dots come at start up and don't allow the computer to start.  What can I do?

I don't know what to do, I have clean the connections, also started it from disk and made a recovery but still creates the same problem.

Either your video card has a problem or your monitor has.  This has nothing to do with flash, particularly since your picture is showing the problem at boot time.
Check your connections.  Try reseating the video card (remove and plug back in).  Make sure dust is blown off of it.  And try a smc reset probably as a last resort.

  • When I sign on to Safari, AOL appears and ADware starts streaming. The same thing happens when i go onto Chrome and sign on to AOL. How can I fix/ Thank you

When I sign on to Safari, Aol appears with streaming adware. The same thing happens when I use Google Chrome and sign on to Aol mail. Is there anyway I can block ads and prevent safari from directing me to AOL without requesting it? I have A MacPro, Yosemite (10.10.2). Thank you

    First try
Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac
    Next:
Adwaremedic: Removes all known adware from your Mac
If you can't download it since the malware is preventing it then see:

  • I am new to Garage Band and was previously using sound forge on my PC to edit music for my Figure Skating students.  Is there a basic tutorial I can read to get started, nothing seems the same.

I am new to Mac and Garage Band and was wondering if I can use this program to edit existing tracks downloaded from i-tunes etc.  Is there a basic tutorial to get me started?  I edit music for figure skaters so it is relatively basic, fading in/out, cutting and pasting etc.

use an automation curve for this, open GB's help and search for "curve"

  • COUNT the same column multiple time with 2 different condition

    Hi everyone,

SELECT 'a' as Name, 1 as v FROM DUAL

SELECT 'a' as Name, 2 as v FROM DUAL
      UNION ALL
SELECT 'a' as Name, 2 as v FROM DUAL

SELECT 'b' as Name, 1 as v FROM DUAL

SELECT 'b' as Name, 1 as v FROM DUAL
        UNION ALL
SELECT 'b' as Name, 2 as v FROM DUAL
    ) SELECT DISTINCT name,
COUNT(DECODE(v, 1, 1, null)) OVER (PARTITION BY name ORDER BY v) as v1,
COUNT(DECODE(v, 2, 1, null)) OVER (PARTITION BY name ORDER BY v) as v2
        FROM T
      ORDER BY 1;This returns :
    NAME V1                     V2
    a    1                      0
    a    1                      2
    b    2                      0
b    2                      1                      But what I need is only one row with the count of 1 and 2 by name. How can I achieve that without using subqueries like (the following query returns the correct output)
    WITH T AS (
SELECT 'a' as Name, 1 as v FROM DUAL
      UNION ALL
SELECT 'a' as Name, 2 as v FROM DUAL
      UNION ALL
SELECT 'a' as Name, 2 as v FROM DUAL
        UNION ALL
SELECT 'b' as Name, 1 as v FROM DUAL
        UNION ALL
SELECT 'b' as Name, 1 as v FROM DUAL
        UNION ALL
SELECT 'b' as Name, 2 as v FROM DUAL
    ) SELECT DISTINCT t.name,
             (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM T z WHERE z.name = t.name and z.v = 1),
             (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM T z WHERE z.name = t.name and z.v = 2)
        FROM T t
ORDER BY 1;The table I'm working on has millions of records and with subqueries it takes ages to executes. The one with analytical function takes less than 3 sec.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Why does my LG Cosmos 2 calendar change the start time to the same as the end time?

This does not happen all the time but often enough to be a pain.  When I enter a new appointment in the calendar sometimes the phone changes the start time to what I entered as the end time.  I thought maybe it was me but it happened twice today and I watched carefully to make sure I was entering it correctly.  I was and it is the phone making the change.  How do I fix this?

    Hi AyaniB
It's been doing it for some time. It seems to be random in occurrence. The day I made the post it happened three times. Since then I have been watching carefully and it does not seem to have happened again. Am I missing any phone updates or anything? How do I check that?
    Thanks for your help.
