Is there a list of applications that support 'versions' in Lion?

Has anyone found or compiled a list of applications that support versions in Lion? It'd be helpful to know before purchasing new software and having to wait for replies from each software developer. I've seen the roaring apps list, but it doesn't get detailed enough.

I'm a developer for an app sold on the Mac App store, so I can assure you that supporting Versions is not that big of a deal. The biggest problem for me was making my app play nice inside the Browse Versions interface.
The real issue is testing the app under Lion AND back on Snow Leopard to make sure you dont break something on Snow Leopard. There is also an app upgrade review and approval cycle done by Apple for products sold on the App Store. My gut feel is that the review staff is being flooded right now with application updates for Lion by virtually all of the products on the App store.
I do remember that Snow Leopard broke things too when it went live. (But then Apple has done at least 8 updates to Snow Leopard after it was released.)
By the way, the old way of saving works just fine for apps that dont yet support Versions.
Versions does take a bit to get used to. It is a paradigm shift from the way apps are saved over the last several
decades.
Apps that require custome hardware and custom device drivers will most likely be the last to convert to Lion. Years ago I was a ProTools user and they took over 6 months after Tiger was released to release a compatible upgrade (and they charged a lot of money for it too).
The vast majority of apps dont fall into that category. They just have to do a ton of testing, which takes time.

In Lion, can I clear the list of applications that have requested Location Services under System Preferences...Security & Privacy…Privacy?
I have uninstalled an application but the name of the app is still showing up in this list of apps.  I have disabled it but was wondering if there is a way to remove it from this list.

I don't believe you can since it is populated automatically by the system. FWIW, I do not have location services enabled - I chose not to since I have no intention of tucking my 27" under my arm and taking it somewhere. And, I deny any request any app wanting to use it and have not experienced any error messages because of it.

Is there a list of AE/bonjour supported printers?

Bonjour is a transport protocol. It also provides a means of advertising a printer on a network.
Any list that shows printers that support Bonjour is generally an indication that the printer itself supports this protocol, meaning that when it is connected to the network, you can see it in your default Add Printer browser. In the case of the Airport, it also supports the Bonjour protocol and will advertise any printer that is connected to its USB port. The printer itself does not have to support Bonjour. The Airport performs this function. And like many lists, they are not kept up to date because each vendor releases several new models every quarter or half year.
There are definitely printers that don't work when connected to the USB port of the Airport. And this is more that the printer driver does not support this type of connection, mainly due to the port not supporting bidirectional communications which some printer drivers require. The Canon UFR2 and CAPT drivers are a good example of this limitation. But this is only the Mac drivers. The Windows equivalent drivers work fine when the printer is connected to the USB port.
So with you having an issue with the Windows drivers then I don't think it is a case of them not supporting Bonjour but more to do with some other component not functioning when the printer is shared by the Airport. The error message appears to have more to do with local user rights which is probably driver related. I've seen some printers that you cannot use the Windows Add Printer wizard to add them. Instead you have to use the vendors utility because of some proprietary protocol being used. Maybe this is one of those?
Now that you seen how it should work based on when you used the C3188, if you still get that error message at point 6 of adding the C1025 then it would suggest a driver compatibility issue with the Airport - which is not necessarily a Bonjour compatibility issue. So unless there was another model of HP printer driver that you could use to this C1025 and that was also compatible with the USB port of the Airport Extreme, then I would suggest your best action is to replace the printer with a model that does work. Maybe even one that has builtin wireless so you don't have to use the USB port of the Airport.

Is there a list of projectors that will work well with the MBP 15 ?

No, because almost every projector will work as well with a MB Pro as with any other computer, when the same connection protocol is used.

  • Integrate an Application That Supports Native AD Authentication

I am currently evaluating a 3rd party web application that supports SSO via native AD Authentication. Is it possible to integrate this application with Azure Active Directory in the same way that this would be done with On-Prem AD? It has typical options
for a domain controller hostname and port, a Base DN, a service account to bind to AD and a domain name. If this is possible, what values can I use for server address and port? Thanks!

    Hi,
Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) simplifies authentication for developers by providing identity as a service, with support for industry-standard protocols such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, as well as open source libraries for different platforms to
    help you start coding quickly.
Please refer to this article to learn about the common authentication scenarios that are supported by Azure AD and how you can use them in your applications.

  • Which is Adobe product to be used for developing iPAD(IOS) applications that support PDF edit on the

    Question:
We would like to know if LiveCycle ES 8.0 supports development of applications for IOS devices like iPAD,...
Our requirement is to build applications that opens PDF on an iPAD, let the user edit and save the PDF.
If not, which other Adobe product does?
    Thanks,
    Murali

If you want to add text as comments, then a form created in Acrobat (Acroform) will work in Adobe Reader for iOS. It does not support forms created in LiveCycle Designer (XFA). There are also other PDF viewers that support Acroforms and commenting. So you don't need to create an application, just documents (PDF forms) that can be opened in an existing application (PDF viewer) that supports forms and commenting.
If you want to edit/add text that is part of the regular page contents of an existing PDF, I'm not aware of anything on iOS that does that and I don't think Adobe has anything that will help you develop an app that will.

  • Writing a Java application that supports plugins

I've done a bit of googling, but I haven't been able to find any information on how to make an application (from scratch) that supports plugins to be developed by other users that don't have access to the source code of the main application. A good example is Pidgin. It lets the client apply plugins to it to do various tasks. I'd like to add this kind of plugin capability to an application I am developing, however don't know how to. Does anyone know of any resources that could help me with this?

Another good mechanism is OSGI. The most popular Application build with OSGI is eclipse. For eclipse exists a lot of plugins to extends eclipse. With OSGI you can define interfaces, which have to use by other developers.

I reckon this message,in red letters,.,"Your message contains profanity or inappropriate language. • Will there be conflicts opening applications that are cloned?

I just cloned my Hard Drive to a back up drive and plan on installing a new 500GB Hard Drive into my G5. When I initialize and install the Mac OS X on the new 500 GB Hard Drive, will there be a conflict with opening applications on the cloned/backup Hard Drive? Thanks.

    Hi-
It would be best to use applications that are installed on the same drive as thr OS X boot drive.
Some will be ok (as you described) many won't.
After installing the OS on the new drive, I would advise installing applications, as well, or, migrating them from the backup drive.

When you are in the iTunes store on your computer, in the movies section. Under the quick links there is a section for that. Had a quick look and couldn't see via Apple TV but it does show up in the iTunes app so if you own an IOS device you can see it there as well.
