Is there a mximum EF setting within QoS

I am configuring an ASR1002 which requires a large number of Voice connections. Is there a maximum limit (percentage or bandwidth) that can be allocated to the EF queue

I don't know for an ASR1K, it might depend on your IOS version.
That noted, generally Cisco recommends not to exceed one third of link bandwidth for LLQ.  They make this recommendation to leave sufficient bandwidth for other traffic, but another issue is, if you use too much bandwidth for LLQ, the traffic may queue itself, introducing delay and/or jitter to your VoIP traffic. In general, staying at or below one third should be great, going to 50% is probably okay, but going above two thirds is when you're really likely to start to self queue.  I.e. if your VoIP needs more than about half to two thirds of your link bandwidth, you probably start to need to consider obtaining more bandwidth.

  • Setting some QoS params when calling stored procedures

    Hi All,
Can I set some QoS params when calling a stored procedure like Timeout, Connection Timeout, Retry Count, etc?
    Thanks,
    Daniel

Since anything between your client and your data can fail(including connectivity to the ALDSP server), we recommend that you exercise retries and timeouts from the client. If you attempt to implement retries and timeouts within the XQuery - you open up several cans of worms.(mentioned later) There is a Query Attribute (in RequestConfig) that you can use to specify a timeout on the query. And you can implement retries with a loop (for, while etc).
If you use timeout/fail-over in your query - a number of things happen. First, if something happens outside your timeout or retry - you'll miss it (i.e. if someone unplugs one of your ALDSP servers, the fail-over in your xquery is not going to help). Second, adding timeout/fail-over function calls into your XQuery blocks query optimizations - if you put a fail-over around access to a CUSTOMER table in a database, the optimizer cannot combine that with an access to the ORDER table in the same database). Third, in ALDSP 2.5, the database connections within a query are cached, so if you have Oracle RAC, and one instance goes down - the fail-over function will fail-over to the same instance (unless you create a duplicate data source for the same RAC, but with a different name).
ALDSP does not provide means to configure retries (like ALSB does).
You can explicitly attempt to call a stored procedure mutliple times using the fn-bea:fail-over function.
You can also retry (in case of timeout) by using the fn-bea:timeout function.
Note that during a single query execution, if an instance of fail-over actually fails-over - it will not bother to evaluate the primary expression again during that query execution - it will simply evaluate the secondary expression. (The idea being that if a web service is down, then it will still be down a few milliseconds later). You can contact Customer Support if you need different functionality (there is a fail-over-retry function available in a patch).
If you are calling a replicated web-service, you can implement round-robin in a web-service handler for that web service. Ask if you want an example.

  • Is there a way to set a default "Source Range" in AME when exporting from Premiere Pro CC?

When exporting a sequence from Premiere Pro CC, you are able to toggle between 4 drop down options within Adobe Media Encoder on what Source Range you'd like to export (Work Area, Sequence In/Out, Entire Sequence, Custom) as seen here:
Is there a way to set the default Source Range to something besides Sequence In/Out?
My reason for asking is that sometimes I export multiple sequences at once using AME's Queue. I add my custom presets to each Sequence and hit export, but SOMETIMES I may have accidentally marked an in point on my timeline and by default it's set to export only that In-to-Out part of the sequence.
I know what you may be thinking...well, just don't add any In/Out points to your sequence on the timeline or clear them first. The trouble is that I often don't see them or catch them when working quickly. In Premiere Pro CC, I use the "Lighter Brightness" Appearance setting because it's easier on my eyes after editing 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. Sure, darker looks cooler, but it kills my eyes for some reason. Anyway, PPro CC has a troublesome appearance issue in CC where it's not "optimized" for editing when you change it to a lighter appearance like it was in CS6. I've already contacted Adobe about this and another appearance issue (involving highlighted clips when in Lighter Appearance setting) and they are "actively working on fixing this appearance issue asap".
For reference, here's Premiere Pro CC in/out points in default dark appearance (notice the slightly lighter grey area):
Now here's that same in/out in "Lighter Appearance":
Not exactly optimized. Can hardly see it. Good luck spotting that little guy on a long timeline. Sadly, this affects in/out points in the Source Window as well. Really hard to see.
Conversly, CS6 looked the best (the blue REALLY stands out making things easy to see):
So my question again...is there a way to set the default "Source Range" to something else besides Sequence In/Out so that I don't end up doing what I just did and leaving for several hours while batch exporting only to come back and find that I exported only a "portion" of one of my big sequences?
    Thank you!

Here is the solution:  Slow down. Give your project some love. Smell the roses.
Agreed about the roses but alas my next project always calls. Actually, I think what happens is I give each project SO much love that when it comes to exporting, I've run out of time.
    shooternz wrote:
Then it would not be a default...it would be an option and you already have that option.
Semantics aside, I would love to be able to have it at least default to whatever option was last chosen. Or, perhaps I shouldn't use the word default again...I'd love it to simply remember my preferred setting. That's all.

  • Odd symbol scaling, when key set within a tween

    Hi,
I'm doing some character animation for a game project.
The developer would like the symbols I animate to be at 100% scale, but I'm running into a problem where the the symbol scales to ~99.9% and won't allow itself to be reset to 100%.
This is what happens ( ah, sorry about the odd images-- click to see the full-size clean versions ):
    first keyframe set
second keyframe set-- with a rotation value on it
    classic tween created
keyframe set within the tween-- odd scaling value appears
Now, the weird thing ( to me at least ) is that once the ~99% scale has been assigned to the symbol I'm not able to change it to 100% from the transform panel ( either by resetting the scale or by manually typing in 100% ).  It'll temporarily read like it's at 100% scale, but when I scrub away and then come back to that keyframe-- it's at 99% again.
The only fix I've found is to Remove Transform, and then move the symbol back to its previous position. It then has the same position and 100% scale. I guess I'll have to do this if necessary but… is there a better way?  ( with luck, the solution will be so simple and obvious that I'll feel stupid )
( for anyone interested: the reason I animate like this is that it seems to be a nice way to quickly get breakdown poses ( a pose that helps the  animation flow between major poses )-- I'll make two major poses and  create a classic motion tween connecting them.  I'll set keyframes at a  point along the tween, delete the tweens, and them tweak those keyframes  to create my breakdown.  If anyone has a better method of doing this, I'd be thrilled to hear it also )
    Thanks!
    --Ross

It looks like this might not be a problem now-- but just out of interest:
I noticed that the scale value can even change from 100% after just creating a symbol and rotating it ( sometimes you have to click the scale value to see all the decimals ).  Why does the scale value sometimes change?
    Thanks again,

  • Editing timelapses in Lightroom- looks very different if there´s a small change within the frame

    Hi
We´re having some serious issues with editing timelapses in Lightroom (5.6). What seems to happen over and over again, is that if there´s a small change within the frame (such as a bird flying past, people walking), the editing result varies greatly compared to the previoius frame. It´s easiest to understand what I mean by viewing the examples below.
Here there´s one picture without a boat in the frame, and a few seconds later there´s a boat in a small part of the frame. The camera is set to full manual, and the two JPGs which show the unedited pictures shows that the background and sky in both pictures look exactly the same. However, after pasting the same editing setting on both pictures, the picture with the boat looks vastly different (shadow areas are much darker). It´s the same result weather it is a white boat, a black bird or a person walking in/out of the frame. The picture gets much darker, and leads to some serious flicker in the timelapse which can be impossible to get rid of.
I assume that as there´s a small change in the histogram when the boat enters the frame, this change affects what Lightroom thinks of as shadows/highlights on so on? The example below has some heavy editing applied (shadows up, highlights down, clarity). You can see the settings that have been adjusted in the screenshots below. Does LR change what it considers shadows/highlights based on the histogram, or are there standard settings? If this is the case, it would be much better for timelapsers if Lightroom had standard values for what is considered shadows/highlights, so that two pictures where the only difference is a person walking on the street or not, would look the same with the same editing settings applied. What I find strange if LR works like I´m asking here, why does the picture get darker whether it is a white boat or a black bird changing the histogram slightly. Shouldn´t they then have the opposite effect of each other?
Any ideas what is causing the difference, and what I can do about it? Thanks!

  • Is there a way to set extension specific download folders in safari? aka .docs to one folder, .mov to another, etc

Is there a way to set extension specific download folders in safari? aka .docs to one folder, .mov to another, etc
I'm trying to use safari to organize my downloads so i have less clutter and know where things are

Nothing "built in" senses file type and sorts by it that  know of, and I've not heard of any third-party options.
You can have pretty good control by slight mods to how you download:
1--Set up a dedicated Downloads folder in Documents if you don't have one. Point all you browsers to that folder for catching downloads.
from here you have two options:
2A--always display that folder sorted by "Kind." That put files of similar types together
2B--within the Downloads folder, create subfolders for different file types. If you do this, instead of clicking files for downloading, right-click them. One of the contextual menu options the right-click will reveal is "Download Linked Files as...." and will force a dialog box from which you can select the subfolder that will hold that file type.

  • Is there a way to set window dimensions before publishing project as standalone from Aggregator?

    Hi,
I am combining several SWF files using aggregator and publishing it as a Standalone (.exe) File type. The executable works fine and displays all the files as expected. The expectation from the customer is to have the ability to maximize, minimize the window of the executable. Is there a way to set the dimensions before publishing the standalone. Currently, I am able to minimize or close the window and not maximize the window of the exe.
    P.S - I am using Captivate 4.

    Me again, Carol
You also asked about the functional differences between WebHelp and WebHelp Pro, so let me elaborate.
I'm aware of only two major differences (other than the extra benefits of feedback analytics reports and management of "Areas" with authentication in RoboHelp Server).
The behavior of Browse Sequences as explained above
The fact that Content Categories are not supported in WebHelp Pro for this latest version 9.
As for the Browse Sequences you are trying to provide for different modules (licensed, etc.): Multiple Browse Sequences are included in a single .BRS file. The sequences are defined in the XML within the single file.
As a workaround (for either WebHelp or WebHelp Pro) you could create a NGP Help.brs. which you have already created for one module; then backup and archive it. Then, create a modification for the different module before you generate again. The NGP Help.brs. will need to have the same name as your project so you will have to manage the desired .brs file into the project folder when you generate that version. All of your other choices (TOC, Index, Conditional Tags, etc.) would remain the same for the respective modules.
Finally, I note that you are apparently generating WebHelp Pro right now even though you are not publishing it to the RH Server? This is really not the best practice. You should generate plain WebHelp for a web server that does not have RH Server on it (even though you may be getting away with it). As for your concern about "breaking" something; each output is placed in a different !SSL! folder automatically when you generate, so you should be able to generate WebHelp without interferring with the WebHelp Pro output. Then, you can re-publish to the RH Server using WebHelp Pro whenever the server is ready.

  • Is there a way to set ebooks up in iTunes so when they go in ibooks they stay in the order of the author and series?

Is there a way to set ebooks up in iTunes so when they go in ibooks they stay in the order of the author and series?

Hello Serenity99.   In my rather limited experience with this, I have had much success with just copying and pasting the project from within FCP X.  All of the properties (retiming, themes, effects, music, sound effects etc.) copy over exactly between the two, which is great.  The only thing is that while the transitions and retiming copy over in the one go, you may have to go back and copy and paste any titles seperately as they are placed above the clips (well in my case they have been) but they will copy over nicely and as previously configured.  I have not found this to be a big hassle at all.  I was releaved to find that the process was as easy as it was.  Mind you, I have not has as hiccup free a time with copy and pasting from other applications like iMovie to FCP X.  Although I can select and copy the projects, all the other editing and rejiging has been jumbled and required much reworking.  But if you stick to within FCP X it is easy as pie and works wonderfully.

My husband has a ton of songs in iTunes that I don't want on my iPod nano. Is there a way to set up a separate account on the same computer in iTunes? Do I have to un-tick all of his songs (would take forever!! And then he would have to tick them again)....when we sync our iPods?

    No. Its not possible.
Alternatively, create another user account in your computer. Install iTunes in that account with the library you wish to sync.

    Hi Henrik
depend on what you need or what your security policy says for my lab gear i use 60 minutes. because i know how can access this. if you have gear outside in insecure space set it to a minimum or disable the console. everybody how can access your gear can break in. simple restart and boot w/o config. and you are in.
it realy depends how secure is your space and how much security you need.
and than the settings for policy have to match, what sec do you have if your console login and logout is secure. but when you restart you can simple break in by starting w/o config and than load it.

  • My wife and I share an iTunes account. Is there any way to set up a seperate one for her to sync her phone contacts, iCloud and music to without having to purchase all her music again and then share going forward?

My wife and I share an iTunes account. Is there any way to set up a seperate one for her to sync her phone contacts, iCloud and music to without having to purchase all her music again and then share going forward?
It would be so much easier having seperate accounts but we have hundreds of her purchased songs on my account and she would need to be able to access these from her account. Possible?
Also, if we bought a song in future we would want to be able to both have access to it.
Alternatively, what is the easy way to sync two distinctly different contact lists to one iTunes account?
    Thank you in advance.

FYI: iTunes account (used to make purchases) is not the same as iTunes library (iTunes on your computer with music, movies, etc.).
    ecbclb wrote:
Will we have to create a seperate account for her, or can we all have the same one?
You can but you will not be able to limit what she syncs.
I would like to avoid 'checking' and 'unchecking' individual songs every time one of us tries to synch our ipods to the library.
I don't recommend using (only) the checkmarks to select what to sync.
Each of you can create your own playlists then sync only those playlists.
Then add/delete from your own playlists to change iPod content.
The only time I uncheck items is if I rarely/never want to sync them to anything, such as Christmas music or old audiobooks.
I suggest you each have your own computer login account. Then everyone has their own contacts, calendars, and everything else.
You and your husband can share an iTunes library and let your daughter have her own.

Is there a way to set wireless network priority on iphone? If not, there should be! I have a wireless router with dual band signals, as well as an extender at the other end of my home... it would be nice if I could set a priority list so my phone knows to always connect to the 5GHz signal if available, rather than trying to connect to the 2.4GHz signal which is on the other side of the house...

By default, the iPhone will prioritize Wi-Fi over cellular for data and when doing Wi-Fi, will latch on to the strongest signal it can associate (latch on) to. But all that is automatic, there's no evident control for manual adjustments. Other than deleting the Wi-Fi networks you don't like.

This sounds like the age old problem with keychain & Safari. I don't know of a way to solve it without using something like 1Password.
The iOS app has it's own built in browser, so it has more control over what gets autofilled. Safari on OS X has an 1Password extension that handles account selection & autofill etc.
Keychain is great in principle, but it quickly falls down when you need tight integration with many ID's & different use cases (work, home etc).
I'd suggest you submit feedback to Apple about your thoughts. I did so years ago about this issue & this is how far we have come (back to the point where me.com synced passwords) :^)
    http://apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
Other tools like lastpass or keypassx may also help if you want to truly segregate password storage, but that doesn't fix autofill, the way around that issue is to dedicate one browser for work.
