Is there a way how to create new Crystal Report template programmatically?

Hi all,
I would like to know if there is any way how to call .NET code using Crystal Reports for VS2010 to create Blank Crystal Report template with specific DataDefinition?
I want to save work with opening Crystal Reports application and manually adding DataDefinition fields which my application provides...

You will have to use the InProc RAS SDK as this includes report creation APIs. A few resources to get you started:

I have to capture over 9 hours of footage and I dont want to spend the time logging each clip. I also dont want to just capture the whole tape then go back and log each clip. You can capture the complete clip and then apply Mark > DV Start/Stop Detect over the captured clip. You could get the best of two worlds so: smooth capture and clips creation.

How to create a Crystal Report to connect to Oracle

Hi,
When I create a Crystal report to connect to SQL Server, I create a stored procedure to get all data I need and connect to it from Crystal Report.(In the stored procedure, I created temp tables, used cusor etc to run data.) But now I need to use a Oracle database. I heard I need to create a package and put this stored procedure in this package. Questions:
1. if I need to create a package, how can I call the stored procedure from it?
2. Can I create temp table in this procedure too? I need to create some temp tables to join together to get complex data.
3. if I want the return data from stored procedure, do I still "select ... from ..." or there is another other ways?
I am so desperated. Please help. I know this are very silly questions. But please.

We are also using Crystal Reports for our Oracle Database, we normally just select the tables we want to use or create our own SQL query.
However, if you really want to use Oracle stored-procedure (which performs faster than a SQL query because the stored procedure is compiled in advance), you can look at this document:

I want to extract the data from SAP R3 tables and design the crytal report. When i tried to make a new connection;
We have lot of connection as OLAP;OLE DB and etc, I am not sure how to establish a connection between R3 tables and crystal reports. I cannot able to find documents too...

I installed SAP Integration Kit 3.1. Yes I installed the integration kit after installing CR.
I have uninstalled the earlier version and i have reinstalled CR with (12.3.0.601) version.
But still i cant view the SAP connectivity. can u tell me from which version they have included this connectivity option in CR.
If CR going to support SAP Table connectivity on specific version, what is that version.

Error when attempting to create new Crystal Report against SAP BW

We're getting an error when attemptiing to create a new report using the SAP toolbar in CR:
"Failed to retrieve SSO2 logon ticket. Please contact your BW administrator".
Any ideas? We're able to run existing reports fine. Just can't create new ones using the toolbar.

Hello Ivan,
you can built a report against the cube and against the query level in Crystal Reports. We highly recommend the cube level.
why ? because when connecting to the cube directly you will lose the following:
- navigational attributes
- calculated keyfigures
- restricted keyfigures
- variables
- conditions
- authorization variables

Cannot see data in infotype when creating new Crystal Report

Dear Experts,
I have installed SAP Crystal Report 2011 trial version. After many weeks of trying to install CR2011 and making it work, i finally able to connect to SAP R/3 (ECC5.0).
The problem is after choosing the table (eg. PA0002) and selecting field "employee number", "name", "start date", "end date" and other fields and selecting preview, the report only show "employee number", "start date" and "end date".
The rest of the fields in PA0002 is showing BLANKS. I check in backend R/3 and the data is there.
I also tried choosing "Mandt", the field is also showing blank in report preview.
My basis team has done the following:
1. Performing ABAP imports
2. Grant authorisation for crystal report connection
But still the fields above is not showing.
Any clue?

HI Zul,
Its clearly the problem with the version of crystal you are using
you have mentioned that you are using crystal 2011 and the ECC is SAP R/3 5.0
Because crystal 2011 is only compatible with latest ECC client like 6.0 and above ...
Solution are :-
1.) you can upgrade the connectivity driver with the ECC
or
2.) you can use 2008 crystal report tool to connect the table , so can find the missing feilds
Please try this and let me know you are able to fix this

What reports are you trying to generate? I believe Apex can generate PDF reports out-of-the-box.

Is there any way to save these new contacts in a specified group instead of putting them into the contacts root, where they are mixed with all the old ones? By the way, can we create a new contacts group directly from the IPhone, without having to go through the sync process with the PC?

Is there a way to force a new session so my "on new session" code will run?

I'm using apex.oracle.com and I find values of application (global) and page items persisting across logins.
I didn't expect that? I thought they would go away when I logged out of APEX. But I can change the values, logout, and log back in to the same values. And when I login and start an application, it's not running my "shared components > application processes" initialization code which is set "on new session".
I thought each login would be a distinct new session with it's distinct set of items. (see definition below)
So when I run an application, is there a way to force a new session so my "on new session" code will run?

What Is a Session?
A session is a logical construct that establishes persistence (or stateful behavior) across page views. Each session is assigned a unique identifier. The Application Express engine uses this identifier (or session ID) to store and retrieve an application's working set of data (or session state) before and after each page view.
Because sessions are entirely independent of one another, any number of sessions can exist in the database at the same time. Also, because sessions persist in the database until purged by an administrator, a user can return to an old session and continue running an application long after first launching it. I cleaned up the copy of the Select List code in APEX 4.1.xxx which was not operating correctly before. Now it matches what I have in APEX 4.2.yyyy. And, drum roll please, the select list seemingly works fine there (4.1) as well. But now, the initialization code--which was working fine(!)--FAILS in 4.1!

Okay. Maybe this will help. 1) I logged in. Ran the login page but did not login. Opened the "session" window and wrote down the session ID. Logged out and back in. 2) Ran the login page but did not login. Opened the "session" window and .... it has the same session ID? 3) So the session is persisting across logins!! How is that possible?
(More) When I log into 3 different applications, I get a different session ID for each but repeated logins always give the same session ID for any given session.

I guess I'm not explaining myself fully. I have a home page designation in firefox preferences that starts firefox up with 5 sites. that pretty fills up my screen with tabs.
At some point I want to initiate another WINDOW in firefox (NOT a tab). I would like to be able to open up a window that ONLY has ONE tab, or as if there were only one site designated as the home page. This gives me a workspace that has my most useful sites available in tabs in one window, and also another WINDOW that I can move around in and even create more tabs without messing up my primary set of TABS (in my primary window). I see how this might not be doable without doing what I do now, which is open up a new window, and then close tabs until the new window just has one tab for me to work from.

How to create new authorisaton object and how to assign that object on a transaction code?
Case ->
The transaction code VL01N have the object called V_LIKP_VST under Class "LE_V" that have two auth. fields. one is 'Activity' and other one is "Shipping Point/Receiving Point".
Here I want to add "Storage location" also. I have created one object called "Z_LIKP_VST" under same calass "LE_V". and added "Activity", "Shipping Poing/Receiving Poing" and "Storage Location". After that I added that object ("Z_LIKP_VST") for particular transaction through "SU24". I maintained the "Display check indicator" for VL01N.
I created one new role and assigend the particular transacation for a user. but still SAP taking V_LIKP_VST insted of Z_LIKP_VST.
How can I change my Z_LIKP_VST on profile.

I suppose its not about interest but a MUST.. sorry but.. unless u include the Logic in the program how can SAP pick these custom Z objects ?
after u create them and assign to a Tcode in SU24 there is no logic to check these objects. Frankly i see no other chance.... unless SAP comes to us with a great easy way to input these Custom objects

No, you must install Windows to run Windows software. You do not need to use Boot Camp (yes, it's free because it comes with OS X.)
