i want to borrow my sons ipad but before i do so is there a way of connecting to my pc and not eraseing anything on his ipad,or is this not possable,if it can be done what settings would i need to perform to use it,i will have it for a few weeks so i would need at some point to connect to my PC
The settings on the iPad are tied to the account - if you connect to the iPad using your own iTunes account, it will wipe out his. However, if you are going to be the only user for a few weeks, then it's not a problem - have your son back up the iPad on his machine, then when you connect to it use your iTunes account and use it as you need. When you are done, your son can restore it from his backup.

I have an array of clusters. Each cluster pertains to a certain oscilloscope I am controlling. There is another control which specifies which oscilloscopes I have "on".
If a particular oscilloscope is "on" I want its cluster to be VISIBLE in the array. If a particular oscilloscope is "off" I want its cluster to be INVISIBLE in the array.
How can I implement this in my program without losing ANY of the info. in my array?I suggest to use two arrays; one for user interface holding the ON clusters,
and one for internal use holding all clusters. The diagram periodically
updates the internal array with user interface array data.
By INVISIBLE do you mean "skipped from the array" or displayed as an empty
placeholder? To hide an OFF cluster you could put in the cluster a flat
button boolean that is small and transparent when ON and large enough to
cover the whole cluster area (and other controls) when OFF.

I have a 30min project that I am going to burn that is copyrighted. But I’d like to add some stills or maybe a screensaver that the purchaser could copy from the disk and use.
Thanks!Copyright is not the same thing as copy protect. Your material may very well be copyrighted, but it won't be copy protected if you are burning the DVD in your Superdrive. You must use a replication house to get copy protection. If you do this, you can include copyable stuff on the disc. I've seen commercial disks with PDF files, etc that you can freely use. I have no experience on how to do it though.
But, don't fool yourself. There really is no copy protection anymore on DVDs. Anyone with an internet connection can figure out how to defeat it using software available free on the internet. All you can do is make it a hassle to copy it. -

Any help will be greatly appreciated.If you're talking about having the FLA and you want to open it and revert back to some older version of the FLA, no you can't do that. Managing versions of FLAs is up to you.
If you don't own the SWF then decompiling can be copyright infringement. If you do, it doesn't always work. There are many settings stripped from SWFs that FLAs have (graphics/audio compressed, etc). -

As Bob says, any iMap service can do this. GMail can, iCLoud mail can too.
Both of these can be used with Mail on any device. -
Okay, maybe I'm just not understanding something, but here goes. I recently "upgraded" from my 1990's era flip phone to something more "modern", and so far I'm thinking it's one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. In my ongoing quest to just be able to actually use my Pantech Hotshot, the most recent situation I'm facing is figuring out an easy way to answer the thing without have to slide up the locking bar and then press another icon. My wife called me yesterday while I was on the way home, and in trying to fiddle with the blasted thing I missed the call and it went to voicemail. I then pulled over into an office parking lot to call her back, lest I kill myself and someone else on the road. Here is the closest thing I find about this issue in the user manual:

Allows you to customize the call settings of your phone. HOME KEY TO ANSWER Allows you to answer incoming calls when you press the Home key. 1. Unlock the screen, tap Settings and then tap Call Settings. 2. Tap ON or OFF next to Home Key To Answer
In actual usage, all this seems to mean is that I can hit the Home Key to answer the phone, after I have slid up the locking bar. What I think I'm looking for is a way to totally disable the locking bar so I can just answer phone with going through multiple gyrations while driving. Any insights on this out there would be most appreciated.
I do so miss my flip phone. All I had to when receiving a call was flip it open and say hello. And pulling up my contact list to make a call was an easy, one-handed operation. I don't see how fiddling with a touch screen is progress, but maybe I just don't get the big picture.

I want to put movie on my ipod that I bought specifically with a digital copy but it says that they cannot be copied to my device. I don't know why.

Since you do not mention what happens when you try it is hard to help.
The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
Everything on the ipod came from your computer in the first place. It should still be there and you should always have a backup copy. -
SO, a genius at my store told me there are some bugs to work through with SONy cameras and Apple. But I needed the sony camera because of how good they are in lowlight, among other features. Does anyone have trouble with Final Cut and there SONY cameras?? Is there a better video editing software??

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Then try deleting the library again.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I have already found the Apple Widget Builder (http://widgets.itunes.apple.com/builder/) and that works fine if you want to link to the "App Store", but I want to know if there is a way to "open an app" that is already installed on the iPad instead of double tapping the home button to switch between apps. (I know using the home button is very simple, but I am trying to find an even easier way to just "tap a widget" or "link" that will open iTunes U right up) I am only asking if this is possible for people who may have a hard time running an iPad at the beginning.

Hi, is there a way to "force-mount" an external drive that doesn't show up on the desktop? I have a new Hitachi SATA III 2 TB Ultrastar that won't show up like all the other drives when plugged in. So I can't partition, repair, format etc with Disk Utility, Disk Drill, Tech Tools etc. How do I make it visible?
I use the FW 400 to 800 adapter and a FW hub.
