Is there a way to create a "Horizontal Links List" from a query?

Hi,
Is there a way to create a "Horizontal Links List" from a query?
I want to display file names that I have uploaded as links to a display page.
I don't know how to create my own template yet as I've read... I saw Jes had posted this idea...
Thanks, Bill

Yes, that is great Chris!
Thanks for the site....
Once I dynamically create the HTML for the list how do I feed it into the page?
as an item? Can I access an HTML region body dynamically?
Thanks, Bill

  • Is there a way to create a email distribution list from my contacts?

I am converting from PC to apple.  I have many contacts and want to learn how to create distribution lists.  If anyone knows, please help.

That feature does not exist currently in the Comtacts app on the iPad. There are third party apps that let you do it - Group Email with Attachements (?) is one such app - I think!
I read where one user actually created a distribution list in the notes app bytry ping the email addresses and leaving a space in between each address and then copied the list from the Notes app and pasted it into the To: field in an email as a workaround. I tried it and it will work - you have to play around with it a little. I can't remember if you leave a space in between the email addresses or separate them with a comma, but I did get it to work.
Of course now I have this bizarre looking distribution list that pops up when I'm typing an email that I will never use and can't get rid of, but curiosity got the best of me on that one.

  • Is there a way to exclude temporary people picker fields from a query when receiving the "List View Lookup Threshold" error.

    Hi All,
My users require the ability to select a sharepoint group from a drop down list and then be able to select a user from a people picker based on the drop down selection.    The best solution I was able to up with, was create a people picker
for each drop down selection and set the Sharepoint group field to the selected group.  All people picker filed are hidden except the one that matches the drop down selection.  When creating an entry from the sharepoint list this method
    works perfectly.
However, when I add the list onto a site page using an "Listview webpart", then add an infopath web part and then finally connect the two parts, I get a "List View Lookup Threshold" error when selecting an entry from the list.  I
understand from the error and reading that this error is related to the number of People pickers in the list.   Is there a way to exclude temporary people picker fields from a site page query, as they are only temporary fields to allow the users
to select a person and then assign the name to another field.
    Dwayne

    Hi Dwayne,
In SharePoint 2013, we could manually create a list for all users. Here are the reference:
Go to Site Settings >  People and Groups > SiteMembers
    Modify url
    http://sitename/_layouts/15/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=8 to
http://sp/sites/tutu/_layouts/15/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0 , now you will see All people in this site.
Change the view to List view, and copy the listview id in the url
    http://sitename/_layouts/15/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0&View={viewID}
Go to Settings > List settings, copy the list id in the url
    http://sitename/_layouts/15/listedit.aspx?List=listeid&Source=....
Now type the address in IE:
    http://sitename/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Using=_layouts/query.iqy&List=[LISTID]&View=[VIEWID]&CacheControl , such as
    http://sp/sites/tutu/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Using=_layouts/query.iqy&List=f3958d27-9c2f-4f8d-b221-89466e816667&View=696BFDC5-0C6E-4E27-818F-0E6292A18407&CacheControl=1
Save the owssvr.jqy from SharePoint site
Now you could see the file in your desktop with all users, save it as allusers in Excel.
Then import it to your SharePoint site, add an app > find an app > import spreadsheet

  • Is there a way to create a Word Frequency list in 8.2.5?

I would like to be able to create a Word Frequency list for each PDF in a batch of PDFs. I have used Batch Processing to make sure each one is OCR/searchable. Is there a way to do this in Acrobat Pro 8.2.5 / Windows XP?

In 4x and IMS 5x, you can use the configutil <b>service.smtp.banner</b> attribute.

  • Is there a way to create address labels using data from a Numbers document?

I'd like to print mailing labels for holiday cards and my wife created the list in a Numbers spreadsheet.
Is there any way to export to Pages or some other label printing application?
    Thanks.

Righty-ho. This is based on a spreadsheet like this with named columns in Numbers 3.5. (The rows must be consecutive - the script moves on as soon as it sees an empty row):
With the spreadsheet open, run the following AppleScript. It will create a group called Christmas List in Contacts, and then import the name and address data from the spreadsheet, adding each person to the group:
tell application "Numbers" to tell front document to tell active sheet to tell table 1
      set all_contacts to {}
      set row_count to count rows
      repeat with each_row from 2 to row_count
      set nu_contact to {}
set first_name to value of cell each_row of column "First"
if first_name is missing value then exit repeat
copy first_name to end of nu_contact
copy (value of cell each_row of column "Last") to end of nu_contact
copy (value of cell each_row of column "Address1") to end of nu_contact
copy (value of cell each_row of column "Address2") to end of nu_contact
copy nu_contact to end of all_contacts
      end repeat
    end tell
    tell application "Contacts"
set group_exists to (every group whose name is "Christmas List")
if the result is {} then
make new group at end of groups
set name of the result to "Christmas List"
      save
      end if
      repeat with each_contact in all_contacts
      activate
      set nu_person to (make new person with properties {first name:item 1 of each_contact, last name:item 2 of each_contact})
      save
      make new address at end of addresses of nu_person with properties {street:item 3 of each_contact, city:item 4 of each_contact}
      save
add nu_person to group "Christmas List"
      save
      end repeat
    end tell
    Contacts will look like this:
With the Christmas List group selected in Contacts, go to the Print menu and choose the label format you want:
Once the labels are printed, select all the names in the Christmas List Group and press the delete key:
Click the middle "Delete" button and the contacts will be gone. You can then delete the Christmas List group itself.
This can also be done in Numbers 09, but the script would have to be modified slightly.
    Hope it helps,
    H

  • Is there a way to remove Exchange global address list from phone/Mail app?

I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.3. Wondering if there is a way I can prevent an Exchange global address list from loading when I compose a message. I am only syncing Mail - not contacts or calendars. Also tried dropping and re-adding account to see if that did anything. This is a personal phone connected to company's Exchange account (legitimately) - I would like to reduce the chance that I incorrectly email a company employee from my personal account when composing a message.

That is what I expected Chris, but to answer your question - yes. I have two accounts setup with the Mail app - Gmail and Exchange. Gmail is the default even. When I am in the Gmail account, compose a new message, just typing "john" for example, brings up most recently used john's first, then all the Johns in my company. I really would prefer not to even have those names populate. Not sure if that can be prevented without dropping the Exchange mail account altogether. That is my question - and thank you for your reply.

  • Is there any way to create a folder on idisk from ipad 2?

It appears that one can only save a document to an existing folder on idisk, not create a new folder. Anyone know a way? It is cumberson to have to go and start up my computer just to create a folder there.
    thanks,
    Joe

Someone on the iPad forum recommended GoodReader, which is only $4.99. I am going with that. The ipad forum is quite helpful! http://www.ipadforums.net/
    thanks so much,

  • Is there a way to create a web link page in Captivate 7?

I would like to create a source page for training that includes web resources with multiple links, but when the slide stops playing the links no longer work. At this time the links are on a PowerPoint slide and pulled into Captivate, but I have also tried it using buttons in Captivate. A work around would be to extend the time out 15 minutes or longer for the slide, but I am hoping to find a cleaner solution.
    Any ideas?

Just ran a sample powerpoint slide with three hyperlinked webpages through Cp7- worked with a click box pausing the slide and still worked after allowing the slide to play out and end the presentation.
Not sure what could be causing your page and text links to behave differently - if the only actions on this page are the links and a click box, I've never seen the links go inactive before. Will continue to poke around and see if theres any other answers lurking about.

  • Is there a way to create a group email list?

I am trying to set up a group email list so I don't need to restyle addresses every time.  Easy to do in Outlook but how do I do it on my IPad?

Unfortunately, that isn't possible in the iPad mail app or the contacts app. You cannot create groups or email to groups.
There are third party apps that will allow you to do that. I believe that MailShot and Group Email with Attachments will both let you create groups and mail to them. You can check them out in the App Store.

  • Is there a way to create an "edit decision list" (clips, start/end points, timeline order) from a project?

I have completed a project draft and would like to record the clip information so I can carry it forward to another project.  I can look up the information manually, but wonder if Premiere Elements 10 has a way to export that information to a printable (or electronic) format.

Thanks for the reply. I do not see Premiere Elements offering what you seek.
If we eliminate any contributions from the Elements Organizer
    a. In Project Media, there is a list view where the imported files are listed. There are columns of data associated with each file.
It used to be that one of those columns was for Comments and a few other fields for user input. That has long since disappeared, and what is still there appears non functional for user input. The user can right click a blank area in Project Media and select Edit Columns, but that is about it. There is no user entry opportunities that I see.
    b. The Timeline unnumbered markers offer the opportunity for comments for each of the Timeline clips as described in the following blog post
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Forget Me Not Clip Details and Timeline Unnumbered Markers
    c. The project file (project.prel) has an associated Notepad document that could be looked for for project data. Much is in codes. The Elements Organizer details would seem to me to be preferred over trying to draw information from the Notepad document of a saved/closed project.prel.
I am not sure if those with scripts and programming know how could find a way to force Premiere Elements to yield the information that you want in the format that you want?
I will think about this some more. But, right now the above is my impression of your thread question and a possible Premiere Elements project Edit Decision List.

  • Is there a way to create new 'To Do List' items?

My team is making a Help File for our software and it would
be very helpful if the To Do List within RoboHelp 6 would allow us
to customize it in such a way as to make it more suited for our
    needs.
    Thanks.

Hi Platinu and welcome to our community
Unfortunately these items are hard coded. About all you can
do is to make note of what they are and use what is listed by
mentally swapping your own preferences in.
If you would like to see this change in the future, consider
submitting a Feature Request. You may do this by

  • Is there any way of turning off the email list from showing the first two lines of body text. I just want to see a list of senders!

I would just like to view the incoming emails as a list without having to see the first two lines, as it's harder to view and search through, and we already have the preview pane for that! Help, I can't find where to adjust it!

Is there a way to create a year at a glance with detail and print?

To do what Dave indicated you need to do, it depends on what version of Acrobat you have:
Acrobat 8: Advanced > Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader
Acrobat 9: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
Acrobat 10: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features

Is there a way to create a PDF form that ANYONE can fill out and SAVE with their content? By anyone, I mean someone who can download and use the free Adobe Reader, on either a Mac or PC. I have Acrobat Pro, and would like to be able to create forms that can not only be filled out and printed, but saved and emailed, which is not an option with the forms I have created to date. They can be filled out, but not saved, with Adobe Reader.
    TIA,

  • Is there a way to create a local package repository

Is there a way to create a local package repository without technically being a mirror.  For example, setting up multiple AL box's on my network and having them grab all the latest packages from one AL box?
    Thanks,
    Craig

What you most likely want is an ABS tree of your own, containing only the PKGBUILDs of those packages which you want to be included in your repository.
You should already have heard of the gensync program. In short, the parameters are the root of PKGBUILDs, sorted in subdirectories (ie. like the ABS tree), the intented name and location of the repository database file, and the directory containing the binary packages.
Let's assume you downloaded the current ABS tree to your hard drive, as well as all matching (same version as in the PKGBUILDs!) packages from a mirror, but you don't want the reiserfsprogs package in your repository. To achieve that, you must remove the /var/abs/base/reiserfsprogs directory, and may optionally remove the binary package, too. Since gensync analyzes the ABS tree you supplied as a parameter, removing the subdirectory of a specific package will cause this very package to not be included in the generated database. Assuming your packages lie in /home/arch/i686/current, your gensync call would look like this:
    gensync /var/abs /home/arch/i686/current/current.db.tar.gz /home/arch/i686/current
If there are any discrepancies like
      - PKGBUILD, but no matching binary package found
      - PKGBUILD and binary package versions do not match
      - permission problems (writing the db file must be possible)
    gensync will gladly complain.
Otherwise you should find the db file in the place you specified. Keep in mind that the name of the db.tar.gz file must be equal to the repository tag in the pacman.conf to use the repo.
To make sure the db contains the right packages; use
    tar -tzf current.db.tar.gz | less
to list the contents. Every package has it's own subdirectory including the metadata, which is rather obvious considering the file's generated from such a structure in the first place.
The binary packages along with a correctly generated db file are all you need. Make the repository directory containing these files available through FTP if local availability doesn't cut it for you, edit your pacman.conf if needed, and use it!
Adding packages works similar; All you need to have is the PKGBUILD in an ABS-like tree (it doesn't have to be the official tree; gensync doesn't care where the files come from. Just stick to one subdirectory per PKGBUILD, and you'll be fine), and the matching packages somewhere else, run gensync with the appropriate directories, and cackle with glee.
    HTH.
