Is there a way to get Web Dynpro ABAP available in a ECC 5 - NW2004 env?

We will start developing an offline Adobe interactive form with email functionality for ECC 5 on very short terms. We have to decide asap what client/server configuration we will use for this new functionality. We will also develop an online interactive form and an offline form with upload/download functionality for ECC 5. We will have to setup a client/server configuration that supports all 3 scenario's.
The main reason we would like to have NW2004S available for ECC 5 is because we would like to develop the forms in Web Dynpro ABAP instead of Java. Guided Procedures is a "nice to have" too, but not really important at this moment.
At this moment we think we have 3 options:
1. Investigate if we can make an Adobe solution in WDA for ECC 5 with our current setup
2. Upgrade ECC 5 - NW 2004 -> NW 2004S to get WDA functionality available
3. Install ADS for NW 2004 to be able to create Adobe solutions in ECC 5, then we will have to develop in WDJ
1. We have the following configuration up and running: NW2004S - CRM 5 and ADS installed: both Java and ABAP stack work properly. We are wondering if we could develop an Adobe interactive form in Web Dynpro ABAP in CRM 5 using BAPI's to retrieve the data from ECC 5 and put it on the form for display or update purposes. Also we have questions about the email functionality: do forms have to be send by email via a mailserver from ECC 5 via CRM 5 and back or can this be done directly from and to ECC 5 or is it not possible at all? Also we don't know if we can develop an online interactive form for ECC 5 via CRM 5. The current setup is not a real option for us right now as we see far too many uncertainties. Does somebody can give us some answers on the possibilities we are looking for?
2. My assumption is that upgrading ECC5 to ECC6 can be compared with upgrading 46C to ECC5. If my assumption is correct, this would mean an upgrade project with a 6 months leadtime within our company. If my assumption is wrong, please let me know. This upgrade will happen some day, but it has not been planned for 2007. So unfortunately, for us this is not an option at the moment because we cannot wait that long. I was hoping an upgrade of NW2004 -> NW2004s was not that time consuming but I guess this can be compared with a SAP upgrade project like 46C -> ECC 5.
3. Installing Adobe Document Services for NW2004 is not our preferred solution but we think it is the safest/easiest solution at this moment to get started with Adobe interactive forms for ECC 5 on short terms. We will have to develop in Web Dynpro for Java, so be it.
WDA is not a must but if we can find a client/server setup which gives us the possibility to build in WDA for ECC 5 functionality, that would be great. That's why I dropped the question on SDN. I want to be sure we choose the best option possible at this moment for us.
kind regards
Angelique

Yesterday I got new information through SDN which sounds very interesting:
There are technical repository integration points between ECC and the underlying SAP NetWeaver release. To get Web Dynpro for ABAP, you could install a stand-alone SAP NetWeaver 2004s system (without ERP) side-by-side.
Somebody else wrote: we set up a 3-system landscape of NW04s and have configured single sign on and trusted RFC's so that users can hit the webdynpro pages via the portal, and those systems make the necessary queries to the backend systems via RFC.
Does somebody know if this stand-alone system could be a proper solution for our situation? Does somebody foresee any problems related to Adobe LiveCycleDesigner or ADS?

    I saw a presentation by Thomas in which there is option of recording ecatt script on context menu in web dynpro abap application.we are on ECC 6.0 we are trying to record WDA applications and test them by using Ecatt but I am unable to see the option of recording the ecatt script in SE80 editor.
    Why could this be happening

    Thanks ,

    That formatting feature for text areas is known as Rich Text editing. Easy to enable on the web page with one line of code to tap into the Midas package that Mozilla uses, but the users can't enable it themselves from within Firefox.

    I am paranoid that some untrusted technician is going to make a copy of my music (11,000 tracks) or share some of my personal information (scanned copies of my birth certificate, passport, certificates, photos, etc.) on the web.
    If you put your info into the computer and hand it to another, you have to assume they will copy everything.
    Why are you putting scanned copies of valuable identity information into a computer than can be hacked, stolen, lost or compromised by a dirty tech?
    Have you lost your mind?
    Is there a way of finding out what activity has taken place whilst they've had it in their possession?
    No. The tech would just deny it if he did, or tell the truth which the answer would be "NO" in either case.
    The employer won't ask that sort of questions without solid proof, less they make a enemy of the employee and/or risk being sued for defamation of character.
    It's not like they bother to have a team of people watching over his shoulder that he doesn't stick a USB thumb drive of your data into his pocket to take home.
    I am paranoid that some untrusted technician is going to make a copy of my music (11,000 tracks)
    If it's iTunes music, it has your personal ID embedded into the song files. Most IT techs know this though.
    I appreciate any advice you guys can offer.
    Too late now, all you can do is not worry about it.
    Take your personal info out of the machine and if you need it, burn cd/dvd copies, a few USB thumb drives, Iron Keys or self encrypting external storage drives with key and/or keypad.

  • Is there any way to get the appStore link for my application

    Hi everyone , i am developing an app which has a feature of sharing its appstore link with the friends through mail,so that they can see my appplication in appstore and buy it directly on click of a button. For that i need to use the app store link of my application for sending it . is there any way to get that and using it dynamically in my app immediately after releasing it.

    Your best bet would be to create a web page of your own for the app. Design that page so that it uses 'META REFRESH' to redirect the visitor straight to the App Store link.
    That way you can hard-wire your own web page address into your app.
    This has the advantage that it can work well even before you've noticed that your app has arrived on the App Store. Create a real web page, describing the app and telling people to search for it in the App Store by name - then replace it with the auto-redirect page when you've discovered your application's App Store address.

  • Is there a way of getting your songs off your ipod?

    Okay, so i have my ipod synced with a computer that i'll never see again. It was my ex boyfriends...is there a way of getting my songs off my ipod and on to my new computer or am i basically screwed if i want to add new songs?

    Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
    Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
    The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    iRepo Mac and Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
    There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
    Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Is there any way to prevent web.xml from any change ?

    hi all,
    we have a filter in web.xml. Now we want to prevent it from any change in future. I mean after making a war(EAR) no one can change the filter in web.xml. if he chaged it then he will not be able to re deploy the application.Right now it is in web.xml so one can easily change it and then he can redeploy the application.
    Is there any way to prevent web.xml from any change after making EAR(WAR)?
    One can easily make a change in web.xml and redeploy the application to get the result. Now we want to restrict the web.xml as java class for any change after making EAR(or WAR).
    Could some one help me to do this?
    thanks,
    dinesh

    I think you could use some third party software to lock the folder like FolderLock, just make sure others ppl cannot access your file should be fined.
    This is my stupid solution only,cheers.

    hi,
    Not at development level. We want it after deploying the application on server .
    We want to create it (web.xml) at tomcat startup (or in any other web/app server ) before loading any context.
    Is there any way to run a simple java class(not servlet) on tomcat startup(before initializing the contexts)?

  • Is there a way to get new album index styles?

    I would like to use a different album index style other than the one offered in I web. Is there a way to get new ones or make different styles?

    unless apple provides tools and guideline/tutorials, you will have to copy+paste.
    but that is very limited because html snippet display your code in an iframe, which means static size, dead zone, can't inject code onto your page and you can't do anything complex.
    with real iweb widgets, you can do away with all the above.
    here is Lytyebox slideshow using iweb photos page: http://iweb3widgets.cyclosaurus.com/Lytebox/Photos.html
    here is a complex widget to inject code onto the page and be stealthy: http://temp.cyclosaurus.com/revolving/CodeInject.html
    btw, I'm on 30+ widgets with no help from apple... what about iweb experts?

  • Is there a way to get the actual XML string when using the JAXP SAX Parser?

    Hi All,
    I am using a JAXP SAX xml parser and am looking for a way to get the actual line of xml that is being parsed from within a content handler.
    Here's my scenario. Consider the following example xml document.
    <formCollection>
       <form name="myForm">
          <text/>
          <selection/>
       </form>
       <form name="anotherForm">
          <text/>
       </form>
    </formCollection>My hope is to validate the entire document and then insert an xml string containing each "form" element (and its sub-elements) into a map for later use. My thought was to create a String as each "form" element is being parsed (begining with the form's startElement event and concatenating until the form's endElement event is reached) and then inserting this string into the map. Is there a way to get the actual line of xml that is being parsed, rather than just the element name and attribute values?

    2. The first handler would validate the entire XML document, extract the "type" attribute from each <form> element, and place each <form> element and its sub-elements into the map of Strings, using the "type" attribute as the key. The second handler would take a <form> element and parse it into a Form object for the display. This option was the impetus for my question because it relies on the first handler being able to access the entire <form> element XML String and write it to a map.I don't see why you need the raw data from the XML document here. You should already be abstracting your data into Java classes in the first handler, instead of making the second handler do the parsing all over again.Correct, I am not referring to XForms. In this case, it happens that I am using the XML to generate an SWT ScrolledForm object and, thus, the XML element name happens to be named "form." However, the concept/design problem could apply to any type of object and the XML element could be appropriately renamed.
    My experience with XSLT is limited and I haven't done anything with it for several years. With that said, it seems that it is primarily used for generating web content, which wouldn't apply in this case because this is for a client-server application. I could be off base on this one -- if XSLT applies to much broader translations and would be more appropriate for generating Java objects than my current methodology, I could certainly look into it further.
    I apologize that option two didn't make more sense; it is difficult to explain. Yes, optimally the data should be abstracted into Java classes in the first handler. This is really an elaboration that I failed to specify when explaining option one. The problem is that the user can choose to create any number of "forms" of any type. For instance, let's say that from the File -> New menu there are options for seven different types of forms and each form is used to send completely different data. The user can select form1, select form1 again, select form4, and select form7 (or any other combination) and bring up tabs that display the different forms. The user can then enter data and submit each form separately. When the user selects File -> New -> FormX, a SWT ScrolledForm object that corresponds with FormX must be given to the display. Because SWT ScrolledForm objects do not allow a deep copy, I cannot simply read the XML <form> elements at initialization, parse them into ScrolledForm objects, and pass deep copies of the ScrolledForm objects to the display each time the user clicks File -> New -> FormX. The only simple way I see of getting a new copy of a ScrolledForm object is to reparse the appropriate XML <form> element in order to create one each time the user selects File -> New -> FormX. As such, one handler would need to read the entire XML document and parse the <form> elements into a map (or some other data structure) and another handler would need to parse individual <form> elements into SWT ScrolledForm objects. The first handler would be called at initialization and the second handler would be called each time a user clicked on File -> New -> FormX. Once again, this isn't exactly my favorite implementation... but seems the simplest given that there is no way to do a deep copy of an SWT ScrolledForm object. Hopefully that makes a little more sense. No worries if it doesn't -- I just figured I'd throw this out there and see if anyone had a better idea.

  • C20/SX20: is there a way to get cdr with loss/jitter stats?

    I try to get a cdr report with loss/jitter, but can not find a solution to do that.
    a) TMS is able to report cdr but only on call participants/duration/encryption/protocol
    b) C20 web gui has the information but only with a count of clicks and only for one call each time
    c) C20 API (cli) I found some commands but nothing to get loss/jitter
        tried xstatus Diagnostics Call Channels -> only for active calls;
        tried xHistory CallLogs  Recent | Call -> nothing usable
    Is there a way to get cdr with jitter/loss counters for each C20/SX20 in a reporting format?

    Are you at the latest TC 7 software version?    7.2.1 I believe
    Not sure when it was added, but in the Web GUI, under call history...it shows summary info as 1 call per row , then you click the line and it will show detail...   I believe it shows Max Jitter values over the entire call, I find the Diagnostics/Call History easier to read than pulling the call log files

  • Is there a way to get Flash to work in a browser while offline?

    In order to work offline I'm using XAMPP to develop a website which is working great except that I can't see any Flash content. External Flash players have no problem working offline but obviously won't load anything but SWFs and FLVs.
    Is there a way to get Flash to work in a browser while offline?
    Thanks

    You can open a swf file in a browser offline, either as a standalone file or as part of a web page.  If the file is dependent on loading online content in some way, or needs to interact with a server-side script, then it may not get very far.

    Technical issues aside, there's still a legal issue.
    Neither 2006 nor 2007 MacBooks shipped with Snow Leopard 'factory' installed. OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard became available in September 2009. So you purchased and installed a Snow Leopard upgrade disc on the 2007 system at some point.
    If your Snow Leopard upgrade was a single-user copy, then legally, you need to purchase another one for the second computer. If your Snow Leopard upgrade was a Family Pack 5-user license, then you're good to go.

    If you have an active MobileMe account, Apple was giving away a single-user upgrade copy of Snow Leopard for a limited time, and you should have received an email with a link, or been offered the opportunity when you signed in to your MobileMe account on the web:
    http://www.macrumors.com/2012/04/24/free-snow-leopard-discs-for-mobileme-users-n ow-arriving/
    Worst case, single-user Snow Leopard upgrade discs are $29 retail, direct from Apple. I'd hate to have two computers and no OS installation CD's for whatever version I'm currently using.
