Is there a way to label icons, 'View Report' and 'View Chart' icons (the ones next to the go button) in the Interactive report search bar..
We are developing a report for users to pull metrics. We have put in report view and chart view. But the use of the icons cannot be recognized quickly by the users, unless educated. Is there a way to label them with some text. Or is there any other way to improve this.

Is there a way to label them with some text. Or is there any other way to improve this.They are actually already labelled—look at the page source—presumably for accessibility reasons. CSS styling is applied to move the label text to a position where it is invisible when viewed on screen. All that's required to show the labels is to override/customize the CSS so that the label text is visible and the buttons are sized to accommodate it.

    that´s the point. you are using the wrong sort option. if you want rows you arrange by the button depicted above. in addition you can select how to sort your files (gear wheel button / secondary click context menu)

    Found it. Hold down option and command and click on a new keyword and it unselects all the others (Same command as iCal)

    There is currently no built-in functionality to do this in Captivate. 
    If you are using an LMS, this sort of thing is normally handled there.   For example in Moodle there is an option to use the highest score out of all attempts on a course.

    Yes, and I presume you mean both the search engine results, and the pages opened from the results.
    Without making any changes you could always use '''Alt+Enter''' once you typed something into the search bar, or the location bar so that it would appear in a new tab. From the search results page you could always use "'''Ctrl+click'''" or "'''Ctrl+Shift+click'''" to open link n a new tab

    Duh...I meant Quick Look. Sorry about that.
    In any event, pressing the space bar in Spotlight just puts a space in the Spotlight search box - it doesn't open a Quick view of the highlighted item...

    Hi,
    I have tried to look around to find a place to set the default edit icon of interactive reports and I cant seem to find it.
    Another thing is: What would be the best practice to change the icon to a new image that is NOT part of the apex installation? Right now we have 8 icons to choose from, which are all located in apex image library. Its not even located in the theme. So if I just overwrite the current default icon it would be overwritten again next time I upgrade apex.

    For example, I want to make a desktop(or space) for my school and a different desktop for pictures but I don't wantto have all those icons on all the different desktops. I just want to have theicons that I have for my school on the desktop that I use for school and theicons of my pictures on the desktop that I use for editing my pictures.
    Is there a way to do this?

    No, you can't have a different desktop on each space. The desktop is a display of the folder ~/Desktop, so each space is starting from the same template. You can allocate different application and Finder windows to each space. You can only have a single app in a space if it is using Full Screen mode.

    We use Discoverer to report off of an ODS. We are moving from ODS 3.1 to ODS 8.
    Is there a way to mass download the reports into ODS 8.
    My idea at this time, would be to individually save as the query to a folder on server.
    Then open another Discoverer instance, sign to ODS 8, open the query from server and do save as to database.
    This would take time ....

    I have a SQL report (based on EMP) with a radiogroup row selector.
    The scenario 1 and 2 are in place
    1) When the employee row radio group is clicked the P900007_JOB the text item is populated with the JOB for the employee.
    2) When the page is initially displayed or submitted via the button the first row’s radio group is programmatically clicked and therefore populates the additional job information in P900007_JOB
    Info (radio Group) Employee No Name
    (+) 7369 SMITH
    () 7499 ALLEN
    () 7521 WARD
    P900007_JOB CLERK
    1-3 Next>
    Once the report has been displayed and the next or previous pagination is used then none of the radio groups will be selected and the data in the P900007_JOB text item will still display the job of the last selected employee row.
    What I require is on pagination some sort of mechanism to either
    a) Call the page_init() that should then set the first row as selected and populate the text item via the programmatic click. (preferred option)
    b) OR blank out the additional text item P900007_JOB.
    Is there any way to hook into the pagination process?
    I have a work around – Set the ‘Enable Partial Page Refresh’ to ‘No’ but this means a full refresh every time the pagination is used.

    Anybody any ideas? Should I be looking down the route of using my own pagination buttons and adding my code to this?
    There seems to be a routine $a_report that I can use for the pagination but I am finding it difficult to get the current first and last record values that I would need to pass. I've seen references to below in the form but when I'm using partial refresh they do not seem to change.

  • Reusable footers - Is there a way to automatically apply to all reports?

    Is there a way in OBIEE to have a footer displayed in all of my reports and dashboards without manually setting it up each time? Let's say I have 100+ reports and now I need to give each one of the reports the exact same footer, is there an easy way to accomplish this?

    I did notice another issue that seems to be related. When I add my footer in this manner, I can't print to PDF. Do you have the same issue? I do not receive this error message when I remove the xml.

    If not changing the reports design, third party tools is the only options. AFAIK, there is no Oracle proprietary tool for merging PDF files..

    I really don't like the new feature where the tabs diasspear when you are using the internet, and then reappear whenyou hover over them. Is there a way to go back to the old feature where the tabs are stable and always there?

    Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle).<br />
    If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
    You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.<br />
