Is there already a labview program written interface an X-Cite 120PC Q and a Prosilica GC1380 for a set of timed exposures over the course of a few hours?
I am quite new to interfacing a light source and camera in Labview and my group has asked me to do this for their experiments. I basically need to sync up an X-cite 120PC Q lightsource with a GC1380 camera so that over the course of 2 or 3 hours I take 6-8 images/movies of the sample being observed. Does anyone know if there is already an open source version of a VI like this somewhere that I could possibly start with or will I need to being from scratch?
Thank you!
To find something THAT specific would be almost a miracle. There are examples that will help you out with interfacing a camera but you'll be writing the bulk of this program from scratch. Do you have the NI-Vision Module? That will be a help.

I heard that there was a problem with Apple being vulnerable to Hackers. Has anyone seen an update for this issue? My IPad received the update last night but I have not seen anything for Safari.
Mac OS X 10.9.2 was released today for this issue and others. Earlier versions are not affected.
See this Apple article - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6114
You can use the Mac app store to do the update or download it directly from here - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1725

Hi there ..
i have an iPhone 4S, i bought from iraq ( Bagghdad ) and now i leave in france ( Poitiers ) i have with me the box and what's in the box . i bought before 10 months so i didn't complete my first year of garanty, can i change my phone without any paper of garanty ? because i read in thier website
" Warranty
Every iPhone includes 90 days of free telephone technical support and a one-year limited warranty. "
so can i change it while am in france ?The iPhone is not sold officially by Apple in Irag so no telling which country this iPhone was intended for by Apple when new.
The iPhone's warranty is not a worldwide warranty, and if this iPhone was sold as carrier locked when new and was hacked/jailbroken to be unlocked, the warranty is void if this is discovered/determined by Apple.
You can make an appointment at an Apple Store in France to determine which country this iPhone was intended for by Apple when new. -
Are there LabVIEW programs written for electrophysiology?
Hi,
I'm trying to set-up an electrophysiology experiment, and I need a data aqcuisition program for my patch clamp amplifier. I've reviewed the existing software applications (pCLAMP, CellWorks, Pulse/Patchmaster), but, since LabView is used fairly extensively in our lab I was wondering if there are any existingprograms/VIs written in LabView for data acq in an electrophysiology set-up. I see that NI had something called BioBench for a while, but that they've discontinued it as of April 2009. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't really want to spend a lot of time developing something on my own, especially if there's something already available.
Best,
ChrisHi Chris,
A number of people out there have developed LabVIEW applications for doing electrophysiology. If you Google "LabVIEW electrophysiology" or "LabVIEW patch clamp" you'll find some stuff.
Here's one promising lead: LabPatch: http://www.ionchannels.org/showabstract.php?pmid=10794680
You can probably contact this person and get them to send you the source code (they say its "free").
Depending on what you are actually trying to accomplish, it may be possible to start with a simple LabVIEW example program and expand from there as your needs develop. Are you needing a "scope" like program that capture relatively fast waveforms based on some kind of trigger condition (stimulus/response) or continuous acquisition of spontaneous activity? We also have an application called "Signal Express" which can you started very quickly and can be easily customized to do on-line processing - worth taking a look at: http://www.ni.com/signalexpress/whatis.htm
Here's a simpler URL for our Biomedical User Group: http://ni.com/biomedusers
Good luck!

Can Java program written on Windows platfrom run in Linux and Mac?
Hi
I am currently building a java applet in windows platform. I am wondering whether this program can be run on other platforms (Linux and Mac Os), Because the requirement of this program is to be able to run on three different platfrom (windows, linux and Mac os). Really appreciate if someone can help me
ThankI can say with a high degree of certaintly that the answer is probably. Thats about 90% probably, which is a lot better than you will get with anything else. You may need to be careful of fonts and such, but GFI

Use labview to read an Excel file to some control and add a checkbox for each row
As the subject say,I need to use labview to read an excel file, and show it in some control, such as mclb;then ,I should add an checkbox for each row, enable me to choose the row i want. What should I do ? Many Thanks.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi,
to answer your question:
- read an excel file
- show it in some control, such as a MCLB
- add an checkbox for each row
- choose the row you want
Hint to make it easier: I wouldn't use checkboxes, as the MCLB already allows to select rows by mouseclick…

I had final cut express 4 already installed on my new macbook pro at the shop but I'm trying to open it up and it wants my serial number. I've typed in the number on the disc labelled 'product serial number' but it won't accept it. The number has lots of dots and dashes in it and I've tried typing these as well, but to no avail. What can I do?
You do need the dashes.
Also double check that O & 0, I & 1 are not being confused.
The serial no. pretty much follows a three numbers then three letters approach.

I would like to highlight a word or phrase on a website while in Firefox and press a shortcut key to do a web search on this term without retyping the whole word or phrase into the search box. Can this be done?
If you select a word or phrase, then right-click you should get the option to search for that word or phrase. It will use the search engine that is currently selected in the [[search bar]].

I am not able to update my calendar or reminders. I've looked at other iPhones and they have a + button to allow you to update. How do I fix this. Also, Siri also does not update the reminders or calendar.
Please helpEarlier iOS apps are becoming increasingly difficult to find. You may want to look at VintApps, new in the Apple app store, that makes this much easier.

Can multiple LabVIEW programs simultaneously access the same NI-DAQmx hardware?
I am developing a test station system that, in essence, runs several
seperate LabVIEW programs simultaneously on the same computer, each
controlling a different set of I/O channels on one shared set of NI
DAQ hardware (analog and digital I/O PCI boards with external signal
conditioning).
I have already gotten a system like this running almost flawlessly
using LabVIEW 6.1, NI-DAQmx 7.1 with traditional channels, and older
E-series DAQ hardware. So long as two programs do not try to write to
the same output channel simultaneously, everything works exactly as
expected--I can even read from the same (named) channel simultaneously
from more than one program. The only issue I have had is that if
one
of the compiled applications is closed (not just stopped, but closed)
while others are still running, Windows XP (SP1) will bluescreen on a
driver error. This is undesireable, but acceptable (though if there's
a fix/workaround, I'd love to hear it).
I am now building a similar system using mostly the same software
(with an upgrade to LabVIEW 7.1), and I've noticed that the new
M-series DAQ hardware seems to offer much more bang for the buck than
old E-series hardware and its kin.
My question is this: It appears that I/O on M-series hardware must be
performed with new mx channels, with traditional channels not being an
option. I am therefore wondering if I will be able to do this kind of
multiple simultaneous access with mx channels, or if I must purchase
the classic hardware and use traditional channels for this somewhat
unorthodox application.
(Incidentally, the multiple simultaneous program thing is a
requirement for this system, as it is the only clean way to run
multiple
identical copies of the same complete program that only
operate on different I/O channels, and re-doing the program from
scratch is not an option.)Dear Anonymous,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
To address your question, I don't know if multiple simultaneous access with mx channels is possible, but I do not see why it wouldn't be. The best way to find out would be to test it. I don't have your program or hardware, so I'm pointing you to some Compatibility VIs. These are VIs that look exactly like Traditional DAQ VIs except that underneath they call the DAQmx driver instead of the Traditional DAQ driver. If your device works when you substitute these Compatibility VIs in for the Traditional DAQ VIs, then you'll know the M Series boards will work for you.
Here is the link for information about the Compatibility VIs:

LabVIEW program for HP 4194A Impedance/Gain-Phase analyzer
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone has a labview program already written for a HP 4194A Impedance/Gain-Phase analyzer. This instrument measures the impedance, capacitance, dielectricloss etc as a function of frequency. The problem is I have to write down each and every reading. I was wondering if anyone already has a program written for extracting the data and storing in a excel or a txt file.please post the program if you have it.
Thanks
ManojHere is an example. It represents some of my early work, but it is functional. With this one, you can get specific readings, or the whole sweep.

How do I use directional PDA buttons in LabVIEW programs?
Hi all,
I've been assigned to get a LabVIEW program to work on a Palm PDA with LabVIEW 7.0 and palm PDA module 7.0. I am basically totally new to LabVIEW, and my possibly very simple problem is, the PC program requires input from a serially connected number pad for the 8, 4, 5, 6, and 2 keys which are used as four directions (8, 4, 6, and 2) and an enter (5).
I am trying to rewrite the input vi to use the directional buttons and middle enter button on the PDA itself but am having trouble figuring out what to use. I am using a PDA simulator because of the PALM OS5 we own. The input demo vi example provided will not build for PDA because of size so I am unsure of how to approach this. Another thing is, we have LabVIEW and PDA module for pocket PC 8.0, and a Dell Axim PDA on order. From what I understand off of this website, the latest PDA module has example button vi's. I would still like to figure out the way to do this on 7.0 so I can have a better understanding of LabVIEW. Eventually the program's endgoal is to be used on a PDA and inputting with a bluetooth keyboard, but we are going step by step right now.
I guess my biggest questions are, how do I assign the directional buttons on the PDA in my program, and will this differ greatly when we switch to 8.0 and pocketPC.
Oh and I did try to look at the example asteroid.vi but from looking at the input subvi, still couldn't figure out how they assigned the buttons.
Thanks,
StephenI can't help with any specifics (no access to the PDA module at the moment and I didn't use the buttons anyway), but I would like to say that it probably would make a big difference if you used LV 8. 7.0 was the first version of the PDA module and was extemely limited and problematic (it didn't even have a tab control). 7.1 was somewhat better and I understand that 8 is even better (although still very limited and buggy).
I also remember reading about several differences between Palm and PocketPC and I think you will generally be better off with the PocketPC as it's related to windows and will probably support more stuff.

Just updated my iPhone 4 from IOS 6.1.3 to 7.1.2, I know I am behind the times, but I got there eventually! All seems well but I have one specific problem and hope someone can offer a helpful suggestion.
On opening the app "Find my iPhone" I add my password and sign in, to be greeted with a screen that says;
"Update Find My iPhone. A new version of Find My iPhone is available from the App. Store. You must install the update to continue using the app. Update now"
On hitting the "Update now" button I'm taken to the relevant page on the App Store, to be told that I cannot update as it needs IOS8 to be able to continue and as my iPhone is only a 4 cannot install IOS8.
I'm left going around in circles. The only thing would be to delete the app, but looks like I could not re-install the version I would need. Any body have any thoughts or suggestions? (Apart from updating my phone, I have a few months left on the contract!)
Thanks in advance.Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!
All of your help is much appreciated, thanks
