Is there any way to "undo" a firmware upda

Ever since I installed the latest firmware update on my Zen V Plus, album art isn't showing up on songs I import.
Is there any way to "uninstall" or "undo" a firmware update so I can get album art to show up again?

Any idea where to find an older firmware version?
The only one I can find on their website is the one I just installed (i.e., the new one that caused all the problems in the first place): "Creative ZEN V Plus PlaysForSure Firmware .0.03"

Is there any way of undoing a shuffle? The CDs I downloaded to iTunes have all been shuffled into individual 'songs'. As most of these are classical and folk, it is inappropriate to have them separated into songs that play any old time (ie, a movement from Beethoven's 5th symphony followed by a folk song followed by one excerpt from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, etc. Can I restore them all to the original albums and make sure the shuffle doesn't happen again?
    Thanks!

Thanks! That has worked, but only partially - there are still some Beethovens mixed in with the Vivaldis. I'm sure I installed these as total albums.
I have noticed that too from time to time, I generally move the files into the correct folder and fix the index in itunes when one won't open, occasionally.

  • Is there any way to undo Time Machine formatting?

Within 20 minutes of becoming a proud iMac owner for the first time I think I have made a serious mistake
I have two external hard drives, a 1TB Seagate that I wanted to use as my Time Machine back-up drive, and a 500MB WD drive that I had various files on that i wanted to copy to my iMac.
I had both drives connected through USB and when I went through set-up I selected the Time Machine option for the Seagate drive.  I certainly don't recall my WD drive being mentioned at any point in the process, however when I look at the WD drive it now shows as 'Time Machine Backups', as does my Seagate drive, so it appears both drives were re-formatted.
Is there any way to undo this or will I need to look at data recovery software?

It sounds like you got this prompt:
And clicked Use as Backup Disk.  Then got this:

  • Help!  Is there any way to undo a passcode for restrictions if I've stupidly forgotten it?

I need help!  I put a passcode for Restrictions on my son's iPod Touch, and I've forgotten it!  He is unable to get to the App store for updates or to buy anything.  He is so upset with me!  Is there any way to get around this?  We are up to 8 failed attempts, and each time it blocks any more attempts to try for longer and longer time periods.  He has games saved that he'll kill me if he has to start over on, so going back to default is not an option.  Please help!

If you are up to it see the following. It is complicated but does not required restoring as new.

  • Is there any way to undo iCloud and go back to mobile me?

iCloud has totally messed up all my contact info.  Every time I try to enter new contact info iCloud hiccups and fails to save it.  I can only intermittently log in because it's always encountering errors when connecting to the server.  Basically, iCloud blows.  Is there any way to go back?

It sounds a bit like some kind of widespread prejudice…
No, that's a bit of a naive statement, imo. I've just had a conversation about this on another forum.
I'm with the OP - I wish the take folder thing could be optionally turned off so we could revert to the old pre-8 behaviour.
I had developed a very fast and efficient workflow over years - for example, while a vocalist was recording takes in cycle mode, I would be splitting, colouring, muting, naming, selecting and rejecting phrases as we went.
This is much faster than doing a bunch of takes, and then comping them afterwards.
Unfortunately, this is now no longer possible in LP8, as you cannot do a "create and mute tracks in cycle record" as you could do before (this option still exists in LP8 for MIDI, but not for audio). At least it was, I haven't looked at it again for a while, but I seem to remember it was the case.
Also, quick swipe comping will not let you nudge segments in time, so you have to do your comping, then move the comp to a flattened file, then split and retime when you need to do this. And you certainly cannot comp or organise your takes while recording.
While there are some nice things about quick swipe comping, it's not a fully developed solution, and at least for me and some others, the newer workflow is *far less efficient* than how we used to do it.
Good reasons for being able to optionally turn take folder management off.
In fact, when people would ask for this take folder method pre-8, I was against the feature. I find having multiple "hidden" tracks on one "real" track (like how some other DAWs did it) a much inferior solution than Logic, which could have multiple tracks all on the same audio object - so everything was visible and directly editable - none of this "choose which take to play" stuff. This was (and still is) a great feature of Logic.

  • I accidentally deleted my trash. Is there any way to undo it/recover the data?

Unfortunately, I don't have Time Machine set up on my MacBook Pro. And I can't do a "Cmd+z" because I've already performed other actions.
I had probably 50-100 GB worth of .mov files. I don't have them backed up anywhere else. I have Lion, but I'm not sure if that will be of any help because I didn't have the files open in a program that would use the "versions" or "autosave" features.
I already contacted Apple, and they said they couldn't legally recover the data because the trash has already been emptied, whatever that means.
Is there anything I can do to recover these files?
Also, are there any proven data recovery programs for Mac that will get the job done?
    Thanks!

First, stop doing anything with the computer that had these files.
Second, there are programs that can recover data.  How effective they are is based upon many factors that can't be listed here.  One of those factors is how much work you have done with the computer after deleting the files.
I have had success with Data Rescue.  Past experience does not guarantee future results.
You will need a second hard drive to save any recovered data.

  • Is there any way to undo the "Use this Mailbox for" action besides the undo action

My Gmail account in Mac mail was confusing me so I set the Gmail folders to be used for certain things (i.e. Drafts, Sent, Junk, Trash), but now I'd like to set it back. I can't use undo because it was a while ago. How should I go about doing this?

This is the action that I'm talking about. I set certain Gmail folders to be used for these 4 options. I would like to release those folders from their respective duties.

  • I overwrote my photo album in iphoto by naming it the same name as a previous album.  Is there any way to undo this?

I uploaded one memory card to iphoto and gave it a name.  Then, not knowing it was going to overwrite, I uploaded a second memory card and named it the same as the first and lost all of the pictures from the first memory card.  It's very upsetting because I know I lost some beautiful pictures.  I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do to get back those overwritten photos from the first upload.

Let me be clear on this.
I uploaded one memory card to iphoto and gave it a name
By "it" do you mean the Event?
I uploaded a second memory card and named it the same
Again by "it" you mean the new Event?
If that's what you did you didn't overwrite the one event with the new one.  You can have two events with the same name.  Go to the Photos mode and search at the bottom for the event name you used.  You'll get something like this:
Just check the dates as if they are not close together they will be harder to view in the Event mode.  Be sure you have the Event mode View ➙ Sort option set to By Date ➙ Descending so the newer events are at the top.

  • Is there any way to restore the firmware on a MacBook 5,1?

After the update to mountain lion, my computer started giving me an SOS beep at startup. After a cycle or two it would start up and function normal until next time the battery died or when i had to restart it. Over the last couple months though it has gotten worse to the current point of not starting at all.
Prior  to mountain lion I had upgraded with more ram and an ssd, so yesterday I got a new drive and tested the old ram on the MacBook, but problem remained. So I am thinking at this point it might be the logic board failing. A hardware failure seems a strange coincidence to me, maybe this could be a bad firmware update?
Just wondering if it is possible to restore the firmware on this model of MacBook? Cannot find a restoration cd for my specific model.
Kind of desperate at this point as I am required to have a computer for school and don't really have the money to buy a new one this time of year. Replacing the logic board seems too expensive to be worth it.

    How would you re-enable it?
Maybe clamshell mode is an option for you:

  • The latest update eliminated all of my bookmarks and saved addresses. Is there any way to undo?

The question was posted, "save ? from Internet Explorer?" I did not know that Internet explorer was in any connected to my tabs and bookmarks on Mozilla, so I did not hit 'yes". A warning would have been nice but if possible I'd like to keep the bookmarks, history from my previous version of firefox. I always use firefox first, Internet explorer only for one program which mandates its use. Please help me to get my information back. Thanks

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
