Is there anyway to tune this query?
DB Version:10gR2
The below query using an Inline view is slow because alloc_ord_dtl table has more than a million records and a_inventoryid column in the join condition
(i.inventory_id = aod.a_inventoryid)has only 75,000 distinct records (out of 1 million total records in alloc_ord_dtl).
Is there any way to rewrite the below query?
select b.a_identity ALLOC_ID, b.inventory_id CURR_I_ID, b.sku_id SKU_ID, b.item_name SKU_NAME, ii.inventory_id DEST_I_ID
from ( select aod.a_identity, i.inventory_id, i.sku_id, i.facility_id,
ic.item_name, ic.item_id
from inv_task i inner join alloc_ord_dtl aod on (i.inventory_id=aod.a_inventoryid)
inner join inbound_carton ic on (aod.a_skuname=ic.item_name)
and aod.a_status =30
and i.inventory_type =6
and i.inventory_object_type=14
and i.inventory_status =44
) b left outer join inv_task ii (on b.sku_id=ii.sku_id)
and ii.inventory_object_type=8
and b.facility_id = ii.facility_id

1. Oracle version (SELECT * FROM V$VERSION)
2. Sample data in the form of CREATE / INSERT statements.
3. Expected output
4. Explanation of expected output (A.K.A. "business logic")
5. Use \ tags for #2 and #3. See FAQ (Link on top right side) for details.

Is there anything that can be done to tune this query?
DB version:10gR2
From AWR report, we have determined that the following SQL is taking most CPU Time. Is there anything that we can do to improve the performance of this query.
We have an index on (stat_code,create_date_time) columns of ext_replenish table.
SELECT EXT_REPLENISH.EXT_REPLENISH_ID, EXT_REPLENISH.EVENT_ID, EXT_REPLENISH.EVENT_KEY, EXT_REPLENISH.WHSE, EXT_REPLENISH.VALIDATE_KEY, EXT_REPLENISH.NBR_OF_RETRY, EXT_REPLENISH.STAT_CODE, EXT_REPLENISH.ERROR_SEQ_NBR, EXT_REPLENISH.CREATE_DATE_TIME, EXT_REPLENISH.MOD_DATE_TIME, EXT_REPLENISH.USER_ID, EXT_REPLENISH.CL_MESSAGE_ID, EXT_REPLENISH.SCHEMA_ID, EXT_REPLENISH.ELS_ACTVTY_CODE, EXT_REPLENISH.CD_MASTER_ID FROM EXT_REPLENISH WHERE ( ( ( ( ( EXT_REPLENISH.STAT_CODE = :1 ) OR ( EXT_REPLENISH.STAT_CODE = :2 ) ) OR ( ( ( EXT_REPLENISH.STAT_CODE = :3 ) AND ( EXT_REPLENISH.ERROR_SEQ_NBR >= :4 ) ) AND ( EXT_REPLENISH.ERROR_SEQ_NBR < :5 ) ) ) AND ( EXT_REPLENISH.MOD_DATE_TIME <= :6 ) ) AND ( EXT_REPLENISH.NBR_OF_RETRY < :7 ) ) AND ROWNUM <= 1 ORDER BY EXT_REPLENISH.STAT_CODE ASC, EXT_REPLENISH.CREATE_DATE_TIME ASC FOR UPDATE
Is there anyway i could tune this query?
note: Ignore the unnecessary brackets. They are system created(apparently by hibernate)

Taking off the pre tags due to readability issue(all words appear in single line )

NicholsFrom just blindly looking at this particular query, there doesn't seem any obvious reason why an index couldn't be extended to cover all the columns specified in the where clause.
It might not help too much -> explain plan is required first really before blindly guessing.
Obviously, there's no point having an order by and a rownum (unless you wanted to do the order by before the rownum in an outer select) - I assume this is just a Hibernatism. -

A conjuction (AND expression) has a higher priority and will be executed (logically) before the disjunction (OR expression)! So your select looks like this
SELECT COUNT(1)
FROM INVN_SCOPE_DTL, ship_dtl
WHERE
( ship_dtl.WHSE = INVN_SCOPE_DTL.WHSE (+)
AND 'QC' = INVN_SCOPE_DTL.FROM_WORK_GRP (+)

OR ( ship_dtl.OWNER_USER_ID = '*'
AND ship_dtl.STAT_CODE >= '10'
AND ship_dtl.STAT_CODE <= '20'
;This might be want you want, but I doubt it very much. Please add parenthesis', to get it working the way it should be.

7 - filter(TO_NUMBER("C"."RESTART_FLAG")=0) It means that Oracle had to do a conversion for you since you aren't using the proper data type in your query.
That would mean IF there is an index on that column, it won't be useable... -

YouTube will not work on safari for me on the ipad. Is there anyway to fix this? I can go anywhere else on the internet fine and it works on google chrome, but on safari it shows a blank screen with the bar on top after it loads, if it's even loading at all.
I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working. You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

I have an Iphone 4 and the IOS app was downloaded. I HATE it it will not allow me to group text. i do a prayer chain for my church and it will not let me type any messages...is there anyway to delete this app or upgrade
As major software releases go iOS 7 is amazing? Many requests for support found on these boards are solved via advice related to How To Do Something. Many times the advice is right out of the User Documentation provided by Apple. If someone were to compare the number of critical issues reflected across these posts vs. most other major releases from any major vendor ...iOS 7 is excellent.

I've had a fault with the hard drive on my laptop, it's been replaced and now my iphone and ipod can not sync unpurchased items with itunes. Is there anyway of sorting this without uploading all of my CD's again?
If your CDs are on your iPod/iPhone, they can be recovered from there, see this post:

Your problem shows the importance of making backups. -
I have a 2011 macbook pro, buy yet when I connect my 16GB or 8GB Sandisk Extreme class 10 30mb card, it wont read it, however, it reads a 2GB class 2 card, is there anyway to fix this? and no, there is nothing wrong with the cards, they shoot fine, my dell inspiron 15 reads these cards fine, but yet my brand new macbook pro does not.
After many days of frustration, I try a stupid thing.... Put the SD card in the Lock Position and... Voilá!
The way I find to access the content is put the SD card in the Lock position..
Cheers -
I recently ran an updatedafter being prompted multiple times. Now I find there are a number of songs that I cannot sync to my iPhone. Some are songs purchased from iTunes. Is there anyway to remedy this? I'd really prefer not to have to repurchase music.
Why would you repurchase songs simply because they will not sync? Sorry, that's beyond illogical, it's simply not smart.
What happens when trying to sync these songs?
Any errors? -
My laptop has crashed and I'm in between getting a new one but need to update my iOS on my iPad, is there anyway of doing this without a laptop or computer?
If you can't update via wifi, you can use a friend's computer, or an Apple store will do it for you.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623
If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Cheers, Tom

I have many apps where i must swipe down and it constantly brings down the notification screen. Is there anyway to disable this or activate it a different way because this really bugs me.
I don't have that problem. Perhaps I touch the screen lower when I wipe down? I don't know for sure but there's got to be some difference in the way that we wipe down. you might wish to do some experimenting.

I have many thousands of songs in my itunes library. Unfortunately, most are now pointing toward .jpgs instead of the m4a files in my itunes library. Is there anyway to fix this without reimporting all the files into itunes from scratch?
OMG...I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. Since my computer is a goner, I don't have any other way to access all that music.

I have four small black lines running down my iPad Air, is there anyway to fix this?
I have four small black lines running down my iPad Air screen. is there anyway to fix this myself ?
Try holding the lock button and the home button at the same time if this does not work let your ipad run flat recharge it then turn it on and see what happens

Thank you,

As well as EXPLAIN PLAN, let us know what proportion of rows are visited by this query. It may be that it is not using a full table scan when it should (or vice versa).
And of course we'd need to know what indexes are available, and how selective they are for the predicated you have in this query ...
