Is there anyway to turn off the Group MMS texting? I want to send a mass text but don't want every person to see every other person's response. I am getting ready to have a baby and want to send one text out to friends and family when the baby comes BUT I don't want all of those people to receive the responses. Can I turn it off temporarily? Please help!

I have exactly the same problem.
I'm a little peed-off with Microsoft on this. The original wireless controller I have doesn't work either since the cable I'm using is 'just' the charge and play cable, so a direct connection to my Mac won't work with this cable. It's a cable for god's sake. Why on EARTH put any limitations on this!?!?
Next I learn I need an additional USB wireless receiver from Microsoft to get my original 360 controller to talk to my Mac. As I certainly don't want to fork any more microsoft dollars on this, this is not an option.
Next I think, yes! I have a MadCatz 360 wired USB controller. This should surely do the trick just plugging it in and the way I go. But oh no, for some reason I plug my MadCatz Xbox360 controller in, it flashes a few times then switches off and can't be turned on again.
The System Profiles recognizes it as a MadCatz 360 device controller but that is about it, but the ontroller software I download for the System Prefs (360Controller, USBOverdrive etc) don't even recognize the controller as being plugged in.
What the **** Is The Microsoft Deal with all of this!?!?
PS: Oh, and I forgot to mention, there are No drivers for device 4716 that I can find on the MadCatz website, or am I going blind?

Can anyone please tell me how to stop email previews from appearing on my screen. I have turned off the preview option in settings on both my ipad and iphone, but they still keep appearing. Thanks
works ok on mine - (5, 7.1.1). Try again. with previews set to none, mine shows the sender and the subject line only. (you cannot get rid of the subject) with the other settings, you get the sender, subject line and however many lines you selected.

Text messages are included in your iPhone backup. Before switching over to the new phone, back up the old one, then restore this backup to your new phone. It sounds like Voice Over is still on.
In any case, under System Preferences > Accessibility under Voice Over click Open Voiceover Utility... and then make sure under Verbosity > Announcements that "Automatically Speak Text in Dialog Boxes" is unchecked. -
I upgraded to 4.0 and now everything wants to open in a new tab. I don't want tabs at all. How do I turn them off? I have to use IE at work and have no problem turning off tabs there, but I haven't found the way to get rid of tabs in Firefox 4.0.
That is not standard behavior. You may have installed an extension that causes it.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

After getting the match program my iPod is trying to download my entire library from the cloud. I have too much music and not enough space so it is constantly running trying to download and I haven't figured out a way to stop the downloads so that I can get what I want. When trying to deselect the automatic downloads it slides back to on. Is there a way to stop this madness? I can't even listen to what music I do have on it.
Having automatic downloads on does not cause iTunes Match to automatically download your Match library to your device. It only causes new purchases made on another device with the same ID to automatically download to your device.
Try turning off iTunes Match on your device, then turn it back on. If it's still downloading unwanted media, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap your ID, sign out, then sign back in. -
I bought the original iPad as soon as it was released. I ended up with lots of movies and apps for my kids. Now I want to update to the latest iOS. When I go to update it says that iTunes can do the update but will not save my apps and movies. I do not want to lose the apps or the movies. Is there a way to update (hopefully relatively easily) without losing the movies and apps?
If you had been syncing with iTunes all along, you should probably have a little better insight as to how this works.
Yes your device will be erased as part of the updating process. Your backup should be restored at the end of the update. But .... Be proactive anyway. As long as you do your part, everything should work out fine.
What you should do anytime that you update the device is to transfer purchases from the iPad into iTunes - File>Transfer Purchases - and you should backup the iPad as well. When you update the update the device, if something goes wrong, you can restore from the backup.
However, iTunes should ask if you want to backup before you update, but just in case create the backup yourself before you update. The backup contains your app data and settings - along with other items - so make sure you backup first.
If you have any other important files, you may want to transfer them to your computer as well, prior to the update.

I have been creating a photo book using a lots of photographs on iPhoto, and then I took another photos by using new iPAD which I want to integrate with the original album/book on iMac. I was able to import them from iPAD's iPhoto to iMac's iPhoto. However I cannot import or transfer or sync anything from iMac's iPhoto to that of my iPAD.
So my iPhoto page on iPAD contains only 3 or 4 newly created albums, and no other info. That means no syncing....
I am supposed to be able to work on this project on either of these iPAD and iMac, correct?

Has anyone else come across what I can only describe as a 'sticky mouse' in Muse. If you click on something, it sticks to the mouse and you end up inadvertedly moving objects around. It drives me absolutely crazy!!

I cannot find a way to enable my child's iPad to require a passcode only at certain times of the day.
Yes I have used the clock/timer/ countdown - great to restrict how many minutes of iPad usage they get a day.
But as my child requires the iPad in school for class lessons the usage at school varies maybe 30 mins 1 day and a few hrs on other days
I want the ability to say set the iPad to not work between say 7pm and 7am, ( unless a passcode is entered) so my child isn't playing games on it in the middle of the night...

The address book is the Thunderbird address book, not roadrunner or comcast etc, the same address book services all account in Thunderbird.

But remember that if you have mail in a RoadRunner account folder in the folder pane that the folder will go with the account. All mail in the accounts folders inbox send etc needs to be moved to local folders before you delete the account. -

When using the marquee selection tool, a little black box pops up next to the curser and displays in real time, the height and width of the selection. The same annoying box also appears when dragging an item with the move tool, displaying the numerical location of the cursor. Is there anyway to turn off the display of that little black box? No, other than flipping the ring/silent switch on the side of the phone to silent (red showing). You have to remember to flip it back to hear rings and alerts.
