Is Windows Service Bus a type of ESB ?

Hi,
BizTalk Server & Neudesic Neuron ESB 2.6  are the examples of .net based ESB.
Is Windows Service Bus also an ESB solution from microsoft ?
Thanks

  • Azure Pack Windows Service Bus 1.1 wont start on Windows 8.1

Hi I am installing Azure Pack Windows Service Bus 1.1 on my Windows 8.1 (I have tried with 4 more computers) and everyone keep getting the same error.
After the configuration when the Service Bus Gateway tries to start up it gets stuck in starting mode and after a while it is turned off then try to start again.
After some fail searching I can see that it is the <component name="MessagingRuntimeProvider" type="Microsoft.Cloud.ServiceBus.Messaging.Runtime.MessagingRuntimeProviderFactory, Microsoft.Cloud.ServiceBus.Messaging" /> component
    that make it get stuck.
I have no idea why though, any ideas?
This is the error I get in the event log:

  • BizTalk 2013 R2: SB-Messaging Windows Service Bus On Premise 1.1 (Not Windows Azure)

Let me preface this by saying that I have been able to connect to the destination Service Bus Topics and Queue using traditional .NET methods (e.g. System.ServiceBus.Messaging namespace) and the applications using those components are running fine on the
same local VM.  This uses the connection string that is provided from GET-SBAuthorizationRule.
    Development Environment:
    Windows Server 2012
    SQL Server 2014
    BizTalk 2013 R2
Local VM that is not on the Domain (but can connect to computers on the network)
I am trying to create a simple BizTalk 2013 R2 Messaging Solution that will use the SB-Messaging adapter features with Windows Service Bus On-Premise.  My solution is using a Static One-Way Send Port to send messages to an existing topic on with Windows
Service Bus 1.1 using the SB-Messaging Adapter.  After using the programmatic approach, the configurations were not as intuitive, but I believe I am close to the resolution.  I have tried several combinations of key data but I am still not able to
connect.  This seems like I am missing something small that is causing the problem but I am at a loss for the moment.  The error I receive is below:
A message sent to adapter "SB-Messaging" on send port "SBSendPort" with URI "sb://<SERVERNAME>/NsServiceBus/collateraltopic" is suspended.
Error details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: The token provider was unable to provide a security token while accessing 'https://<SERVERNAME>:7355/WRAPv0.9/'. Below are my Send Port Adapter Configurations:
    URI is blacked out
/Namespace/Topic/ are next in the path
Can someone confirm that the Issuer Name is the Namespace and the Issuer Key is the Primary Key from the get-SBAuthorizationRule?  I also tried Shared Access Signature (SAS) but that service was connecting to a default port and do not believe that is
    how I need to connect.
Also, there is nothing on the Properties Tab as I do not have anything custom for the initial step.
Any and all help is appreciated.

    Glenn,
Thank you very much for the response, I will go down this route in further detail.  A couple of quick questions for you to help further my understanding.
Where is the SAS limitation documented?  I am sure I glossed over it and it did not register, but your help in where to look next time will be helpful.
Also, can I change the default Port for which it is listening on the BizTalk Server or the Service Bus Location?  The connection string I get from get-SBAuthorization Rule is as follows:
    Endpoint=sb://{ServiceBusLocation}/NsServiceBus;StsEndpoint=https://{ServiceBusLocation}:7355/NsServiceBus;RuntimePort=7354;ManagementPort=7355;SharedAccessKeyName=RootManageSharedAccessKey;SharedAccessKey={KeyValue}
    The exception I get is:
A message sent to adapter "SB-Messaging" on send port "SBSendPort" with URI "sb://<ServiceBusLocation>/NsServiceBus/collateraltopic" is suspended.
Error details: System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: Could not connect to net.tcp://<ServiceBusLocation>:9354/. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:04.0250873. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it <IPAddress>:9354. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
    at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.EndConnect(IAsyncResult asyncResult)
    at System.ServiceModel.Channels.SocketConnectionInitiator.ConnectAsyncResult.OnConnect(IAsyncResult result)
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---
It looks like it is going to 9354 for the authentication when the Service Bus is configured for
7355.  I believe I have opened the ports on both ends but do not think it will matter since it looks like it is sending the
    request to a different location.
    Thank you

  • Oracle Service Bus: Content Type is defaulted to "mutlipart/related"

I have scenario where I need to invoke a REST Webservice from OSB which accepts only media types which has "multipart/atom+xml". OSB is used for protocol transformation converting the SOAP request into the HTTP POST request with multipart. I have Proxy Service which will unwrap the message from the SOAP Body and post the message via Business Service and the attachment is passed 'as is' from the SOAP Service. The external REST Service Provider expects the media type to be "multipart/atom+xml", but in OSB when an attachment is present in the message, OSB is overrding the "Content-Type" property to "multipart/related" inspite of me setting the "Content-Type" property of HTTP Transport Header in OSB and as result external RESTFUL Service is throwing "415-Unsupported Media Type" error. Below is the test results. One interesting thing is, it happens only when there is attachment present in the message. In case of a message which doesn't have any attachment "Content-Type" specified in the Transport Header is passed by the OSB to the external service. Any help is highly appreciated.
    OSB Transport Header
    Added the header <http:Content-Type>multipart/atom+xml</http:Content-Type>
    Actual Raw Message
    POST http://xxx7200:7004/XXXInterfaces/identify HTTP/1.1
    Content-Type: multipart/related; type="text/plain"; start="<Root_-328322390>"; boundary=MIME_Boundary; charset=UTF-8
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    User-Agent: Java1.6.0_17
    Host: xxx7200:7004
    Accept: text/html, image/gif, image/jpeg, /; q=.2
    Proxy-Connection: Keep-Alive
    Content-Length: 4823
    Expected Raw Message
    POST http://xxx7200:7004/XXXInterfaces/identify HTTP/1.1
    Content-Type: multipart/atom+xml; boundary=MIME_Boundary;
    User-Agent: Java1.6.0_17
    Host: xxx7200:7004
    Accept: text/html, image/gif, image/jpeg, /; q=.2
    Proxy-Connection: Keep-Alive
    Content-Length: 4803
    -KC

There is no explicit option to disable the check on the XML content.
But the you can use Messaging Service of type Text request which will consider the data as string and so there will be no check.
If you want to use WSDL/AnyXML/AnySOAP proxies, the XML check is always carried when the $body varaible is not checked/modified when content streaming is enabled while creating the proxy. I'm quite sure HTTP transport supports content streaming and the stream from the input is directly given to BS with out realizing the XML. Only short coming is it should be a pure pass through and no data enrichment and any action in pipeline that requires realizing the XML from the stream.
Let me know if this helps.
    Thanks
    Manoj

  • Service Bus 1.1 for Windows Server and AMQP connetion problems

I am having an issue making AMQP connection to Service Bus on my local Network. Service Bus 1.1 has been implemented on a development box Windows Server 2012 using SQL Express. The Windows Firewall is wide open for testing. The SB certificates
have been copied down to the client machine.
The connection to the topic using other than the AMQP protocol works just fine but as soon as the transport is changed to AMQP, the following is received
Error 10054 "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."
I have tried to change the connection string ports to reflect the AMQP settings to no avail.
The same code works in Azure using AMQP, but the STSEndpoint is not present for that code.
The STSEndpoint comes from the connection sting generated by the WS SB Management Portal.
I am sure that I missed a step or that if a certificate is added somewhere this should work.
The AMQP is an important item as if it is not made to work, a different messaging platform will have to be implemented at quite a large cost ie Red H4T. Using Azure outright is not an option either.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

I think I found the problem, and it is in the connection string. you have probably just added the ;TransportMode=Amqp to the connection string in order to change the connection type to AMQP. However, you also need to change the runtime port to 5671.
    <add key="Microsoft.ServiceBus.ConnectionString" value="Endpoint=sb://servicebus...net/TestNamespace;StsEndpoint=https://servicebus...net:9355/TestNamespace;RuntimePort=5671;ManagementPort=9355;SharedAccessKeyName=RootManageSharedAccessKey;SharedAccessKey=XXXXX/E=;TransportType=Amqp" />

  • Connect Azure Pack to Service Bus for Windows Server with Custom DNS

Hello! I'm trying to configure Azure Pack to use Service Bus for Windows Server 1.1 with Custom DNS.
All runs on one virtual machine (Windows Server 2012 R2) in Windows Azure.
    I following this post:
    roysvork.wordpress.com/2014/06/14/developing-against-service-bus-for-windows-1-1
Replace FramDNS "servicebus" to "mymachine.cloudapp.net", and create certificate:
    SelfSSL /N:CN=mymachine.cloudapp.net /V:1000 /T
    On Windows Azure Virtual Machine:
    1.I'll set publuc DNS: mymachine.cloudapp.net
    2.Open ports: 10354,10355,10356,10359,10000-10004
    3.In hosts file: 127.0.0.1 mymachine.cloudapp.net
    4.Create certificate:
    SelfSSL /N:CN=mymachine.cloudapp.net /V:1000 /T
    PowerShell:
    Stop-SBFarm –Verbose
    Set-SBFarm -FarmDns 'mymachine.cloudapp.net'
    Update-SBHost –Verbose
    Start-SBFarm –Verbose
New-SBAuthorizationRule -NamespaceName ServiceBusDefaultNamespace -Name MainRule -Rights Manage, Send, Listen
Afther that i can connect to my ServiceBusDefaultNamespace with SAS.
It's work perfect. But, When I try to create Service Bus Namespace from Azure Pack Tenant portal - in Log an Exception:
Namespace Provisioning Exception. TrackingId: . SystemId: . Namespace: SomeNamespace.
Method: Activating. Exception: System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: An error occurred while
sending the request. ---> System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was closed:
Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. --->
System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException: The remote certificate is invalid according
    to the validation procedure.
And status of namespace - Activating.
    Please help!

    Hi Alexander,
According to the log, it seems that the validation process of the certificate failed.
Please make sure that the certificate is installed in the client properly.
Usually, self-signed certificate should be installed in the Computer Account-->Trusted Root Certificate Authorities.
    Best Regards.

  • Issue with Oracle service bus installation on Windows 7 64 bit machine

    Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle service bus 11.1.1.4 in Windows 7 64 bit machine for which i have downloaded the generic installers of both weblogic server and Oracle service bus. As per the instructions -
    1. Install JDK 1.6
    2. Install Weblogic server
3.Install Eclipse separately (In my case Galileo 11.1.1.5 64 bit) - Just unzip the contents in the home directory where weblogic server is installed
    4. Install OSB
I have installed all the above 1,2,3 in the same folder as per the instructions. But when i try to install OSB which asks for eclipse home location. But when i give the eclipse home location, it gives an error ""Home location is invalid" and i am unable to proceed with the installation.
I have tried this with OSB 11.1.1.5 as well and have the same issue.
Does anyone has any links which provides the steps to install OSB in Windows 7 64 bit machines or if someone can help me to resolve the above issue ?
I really appreciate any information on this as it is urgent.
    Thanks

I have installed OEPE 11.1.1.6.1 now in the same middleware home as weblogic server but when i try to install OSB 11.1.1.4 in the same middleware home, it asks for OEPE home location. Even though i provide the OEPE home location , it displays as "invalid oepe home location".
I have been struggling to get this sorted out so that i can carry out IDE development in OSB 11.1.1.4
Below are the paths where sfotware are installed -
    JDK - C:\Oracle\Middleware\Java\jdk1.6.0_21
    Weblogic server - C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3
    OEPE - C:\Oracle\Middleware\oepe-galileo-all-in-one-11.1.1.6.0.201007221355-win32-x86_64

  • WCF service application hosted in IIS for reading Windows server service bus topic/subscription

We have a WCF service application(not web application) which is deployed in IIS 8 pointing to the windows server service bus topic/subscription. We have configured the WCF service with applicationInitialization feature of IIS 8 to warm up.
But the WCF service is not reading any message from the topic/subscription.
configured in web.config file as below
    <system.webServer>
    <applicationInitialization>
    <add initializationPage="/MyService.svc" />
    </applicationInitialization>
    </system.webServer>
When we run the same from visual studio its reading messages from topic/subscription.
any configuration/settings which we are missing?

You probably  didn't initialize correctly the auto-start. Btw. I would recommend you to use AppFabric for this feature. It is more transparent in development and production.

  • WLI as an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)?

    Hi!
BEA has previously sold WLI 8.1 as an ESB. See e.g. http://dev2dev.bea.com/pub/a/2004/12/soa_ibarra.html
Now that AquaLogic Service Bus has beed launched, it seems that the two products have much in common and some overlapping functionalities. E.g. both products have support for messaging and transformations.
For me it seems that the role of the two is not clearly defined.
What is new with AquaLogic Service Bus? What is the big difference? Why not just use WLI as previously described in the article by Ibarro?
    Any thoughts? All input appreciated.

I also think that same way. I do not know what is so apecial about BEA Aqualogic ESB and other market matured ESB products such as TIBCO & SONIC. The samples which BEA has given in their evaluation guide are very simplistic. BEA should do more to provide extensive knowledge/features about their Aqualogic line of products.

  • Dynamics CRM and Windows Server Service Bus

    Hi,
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg309276.aspx
Here it is described how you can connect Dynamics CRM with Azure Service Bus.
As far as I know it is not possible to connect Dynamics CRM to a Service Bus which is hosted on Windows Server.
Is this correct? If so, why not and do you plan to allow this in the future?

Simple answer is because of CRM Online. How do you see the connection between something that is hosted OnLine and something that is hosted OnPremices.
In case you anyway want to have this feature you can leave your suggestion on
Connect and recheck that your feature is really needed.

  • Which Nuget Package for Azure Service Bus can I use for Windows Store apps?

    Hi,
I want to use the Azure Service Bus Topics. I have an app that needs to subscribe to the Service bus Topic. The Nuget-Package for Azure Service Bus is not applicable for Windows Store Apps (I get an error during install), thats why I used the Windows Azure
Service Bus managed for Windows Store. Unfortunatelly this API throws a Serialization Exception when I create a subscription. What can I do to use the Service bus in Windows store apps?
Thats how I try to create the subscription:
    await Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Messaging.Subscription.CreateAsync(TOPIC_NAME, SUBSCRIPTION_NAME, CONNECTION_STRING);

Yes this is the one I used.
But creating a subscription with the code above throws the SerializationException mentioned in this question:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/de-DE/1acb887e-d5f1-4bfb-8eb9-f8ce7390ae7b/microsoftwindowsazuremessagingsubscriptioncreateasync-throws-an?forum=servbus&prof=required.
Maybe I do something wrong? Do I Need to do something before creating the subscription?
I haven't found any sample that shows how you can subscribe to a Topic and receive Messages using the restricted Api for winrt :(
    Any suggestions?

  • What is SAP ESB (Enterprise Service Bus)?

Hi fellow sdners gurus…  I have been reading threads about SAP SOA and ESB.
I do not want to start a debate on wether XI is an ESB, but more of a statement to what is SAP ESB (if XI it is, then be it).
    1) What is SAP ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) today (I could not find a clear answer to is)?
    2) Who uses this SAP ESB in production currently and what kind of environment (i.e. strictly SAP backend systems, or combination of various vendors’ backend systems)?
Can someone share some light on this topic?
As a reminder, an ESB is expected to exhibit the following characteristics (source Wikipedia):
    •     It is usually operating-system and programming-language agnostic; for example, it should enable interoperability between Java and .NET applications.
    •     It uses XML (eXtensible Markup Language) as the standard communication language.
    •     It supports web-services standards.
    •     It supports various MEPs (Message Exchange Patterns) (e.g., synchronous request/response, asynchronous request/response, send-and-forget, publish/subscribe).
    •     It includes adapters for supporting integration with legacy systems, possibly based on standards such as JCA
    •     It includes a standardized security model to authorize, authenticate and audit use of the ESB.
    •     To facilitate the transformation of data formats and values, it includes transformation services (often via XSLT or XQuery) between the format of the sending application and the receiving application.
    •     It includes validation against schemas for sending and receiving messages.
    •     It can uniformly apply business rules, enriching messages from other sources, the splitting and combining of multiple messages and the handling of exceptions.
    •     It can provide a unified abstraction across multiple layers
    •     It can route or transform messages conditionally, based on a non-centralized policy (i.e. no central rules-engine needs to be present).
    •     It is monitored for various SLA (Service Level Agreement) threshold message latencies and other SLA characteristics.
    •     It (often) facilitates "service classes," responding appropriately to higher and lower priority users.
    •     It supports queuing, holding messages if applications are temporarily unavailable.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Jean-Michel
