ISAPI Filter IIS

Hi All, We're trying to install OAS SSO Plugin in a IIS Server, we have made every step as described in Appendix B (Using Oracle Application Server SSO Plug In) but we haven't been able to load ISAPI Filter and get green in our IIS Console. Could anybody please point me to the right direction or maybe a kind of checklist?.
Regards
Julz

Have you registered your application with SSO yet? (To produce the obfuscated file, sso_conf). Check in portal to ensure your application is listed as a partner application. The 10g documentation is pretty good (compared to the 9iAS documentation which I used). What does your config file look like? The registry keys were added? - I've got it working with 9iAS, the 10g is only slightly different.

  • No TOMCAT listed in ISAPI Filter after CF10 install

    Hey
I just installed CF10 STANDARD on a Windows 2003 server with IIS6.   Twice actually.  The first time I installed is side by side with CF7 (yeah, I know..old) and I recalled seeing TOMCAT listed in the ISAPI Filters section of the IIS website.  But after I uninstalled 7, had some funky things going on and uninstalled and reinstalled CF10 by itself, I now do NOT see anything listed under the ISAPI Filters section of IIS.    In reading the IIS Config document from Adobe, I see that it looks like it (and other things) should have been there, see below:
    Verify your IIS configuration
Verify that the following folder was created: cf_root/config/wsconfig/number.
To set the connectionpooltimeout and reuseconnectioncount click on Advanced Setting tab. The option to enable buffering  and verbose debugging is available on the same page.
    Configuring IIS:
Creates a folder 1 in cfroot\config\wsconfig, that contains all connector-related files.
Creates a virtual directory Jakarta in cfroot\config\wsconfig (in IIS).
Adds an entry, tomcat, under the ISAPI FILTERS. This points to cfroot\config\wsconfig\1\isapi_redirect.dll.
Adds an entry, tomcat, to  cfroot\config\wsconfig\1\isapi_redirect.dll with permission allowed under ISAPI and CGI Restrictions. It is applicable for global sites in IIS manager.
Adds the following isapi handlers: cfcHandler, cfmHandler, cfmlHandler, cfrHandler, and cfswfHandler.
For debugging issues, set the log level to debug, in the isapi_redirect.properties file present in the cfroot\config\wsconfig\1\ directory.
To disable webserver buffer,  change the is_buffer_enable to false in the cfroot\config\wsconfig\1\isapi_redirect.properties file. Disable webserver buffer if you want cfflush to work over an IIS connector. If your application does not use cfflush, set it to true for increase in the performance.
So I'm curious whether I should punt CF off the server again and reinstall of if there are any detailed instructions for how to do these steps manually above?  Adding the entry to the filter area seems straightforward but the steps following that do not seem quite so defined.
The issue I'm seeing which I think  is related to this is that my website doesn't redirect to the index.cfm if it's NOT on the URL.  I get access denied, so I'm thinking its that this process didn't get done correctly.
    Thanks for any thoughts.

Are you able to broswe to the pages, after adding index.cfm at the end of the url. If yes, then it can't be problem with CFM pages. It would be related to redirection to index.cfm.

  • Updgrade CF9 to CF11

    Hi,
Running Windows server 2008 and CF 9.
I'm trying to update CF9 Standard to CF 11 standard.
    I've downloaded the trail version.
I run the installer and then the migration wizard runs.
But after that, the site is still running under CF 9. I know this because if I stop the CF9 process, the site goes down.
There must be some other files I am supposed to modify or move but I can't figure out what they are.
I do notice when I go into IIS 7, there are handlers set up for both CF9 and CF11 -- I can tell this by looking at the file paths to the various handlers.
Where is the 'hook' that ties CF into my web pages? That is what seems to not be working. The 'hook' is tying my web pages into CF9 and not CF11
I've been trying this for about a week now and still no luck. Very frustrating.
    Help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mike

Hi, Mike. The “hook” in CF9  is the wildcard handler mapping which connect “* paths to a jrun dll.  The “hook” in CF10 is isapi filter (IIS feature separate from handler mappings) that causes all requests to be passed to a tomcat dll (isapi_redirect.dll). Then both also have handler mappings for cfm, cfc, etc that also pass to the respective DLLs for each engine.
You have two alternatives to consider:
    - one is that you could try to manually remove all the handler mappings for CF9 and that should do it. But then the problem is you may not look at all the places they exist (which could be at the server and site levels, depending on how you or others before you configured things—and those who try to do it via manually tweaking the IIS config files could also be fail as the info may be in multiple places there.)
    - but the easiest solution, generally, if you’re saying you no longer want to run CF9 with your IIS sites at all, is to the run the CF9 web server configuration tool and use its “remove” option to remove the settings in IIS that are connecting it to CF9. BE sure to right-click and use “run as administrator”.
That said, if folks HAVE manually tweaked those IIS config files, or HAD previously run the tool (when “adding” sites) without running as admin, then you may find that even doing this removal is not sufficient to get things working, as vestiges of CF9 config lines remain (among the possibly multiple config files, at the server and site levels.)
It can all get rather messy, especially because the CF9 config tool (and CF installer) did their mods to the config files differently, copying ALL handler mappings from the server level into the site level.
But give the removal a try. That works I’d say 9 out of 10 times. If you’re in the 10 percentile where it is not enough, I’d say that if the above info is not enough for you to get it fixed, you’d be wise to have someone experienced in this (like myself) work with you remotely to quickly understand and resolve things.
But if the above is enough to get you going, great.

  • SSO and IIS 7.5

Does anyone have advice on how to configure JBoss 7.1.1.Final to successfully enable SSO using IIS 7.5 with integrated windows authentication. This used to be a simple process on CCP 9.3.2 but I've had no luck configuring JBoss 7.1.1.Final to use the SSO. The logs just always say the "LoginId not found for SSO in HttpHeader".
I've successfully setup the redirect from IIS using the isapi filter to connect to the CCP application but have not gotten any further.
I believe the standalone-full.xml file needs to be altered in someway to enable the SSO, any ideas?

    Hi
We have resolved this issue, this is a known bug with JBoss 7.1.1 where the headers aren't passed through correctly. TAC had provided us with a patched version of the JBoss JAR file to resolve this.

  • Multiple application pools for ColdFusion possible in the same IIS website?

I would like to set up a single website with CFM11 under IIS8.5
In this website there are several CFM applications, each under a different "Application" subfolder. For security purposes, monitoring and separate maintenance shutdowns per application, these would all need their own "application pool".
However, this means that these applications should run under a different application pool than their website root node. In IIS this causes a 403.18 exception:
    HTTP Error 403.18 - Forbidden
The specified request cannot be processed in the application pool that is configured for this resource on the Web server.
    Most likely causes:
•An ISAPI filter or custom module changed the URL to run in a different application pool than the original URL.
•An ISAPI extension (or custom module) used ExecuteURL (or ExecuteRequest) to run in a different application pool than the original URL.
•You have a custom error page that is located in one application pool but is referenced by a Web site in another application pool. When the URL is processed, it is determined by IIS that that it should have been processed in the first application pool, not the other pool.
•The Web site has multiple applications configured. The application this request is configured to run in is set to run in an application pool that does not exist.
All works fine if the "applications" in the subfolders run under the same application pool as the website root. However that is not my preferred setup... The behaviour is consistent over all CFM-applications that I deploy, no matter how simple they are...
    Two questions:
    - is coldfusion actually looking to "higher" folders than I expect it to? (and can that be avoided)
    - any hints or experiences on how to avoid / solve this issue?

Here are the steps you need to follow:
When you create connector for your ColdFusion 11 website, you get the “Jakarta” as virtual directory added under your website in IIS. If you don't then add 'jakarta' as virtual directory in your website.
You need to right click on “Jakarta” folder and click on “Convert to Application”.
Select the new Application Pool of the Application (say Test) added under website (CF 11)
    Click OK. Restart IIS.
NOTE :  You need not to restart IIS as well however if you still face the issue after following the above steps then try to restart IIS.
    HTH
    Thanks

  • How to add a certificate to IIS global "Server Certificates" list using PowerShell?

Hi, been surfing the web for an example on how to add a certificate to the "global" IIS "Server Certificates" list using PowerShell but to no luck. I already have code in place on how to tie / associate a specific website with a specific cert but not how
to add the new .cer file using the "Complete Certificate Request..." wizard using PowerShell.... I dont expect the final code to become published but if someone had an idea on howto integrate / get an entry point on where to interact between the "Server Certificate"
list in IIS and POSH I would be super happy! :|
I am runnign IIS on a Windows 2008R2 x64 Standard Edition if that helps..... of course, I would saddle for an CLI if there is no other way, but POSH is of course the way to go! :)
Thanks for the help in advance guys, take care!

Hi and thanks for the suggestions!
Although it comes close, the suggested code example points on howto import / incorporate .pfx files - I am getting fed by .cer files which I need to add into the IIS console using POSH.
I tried explore the IIS.CertObj object but was not able to work out if this one could be used for importing / adding .cer files into IIS! However, launching the following command from a POSH console with Import-Module Webadministration already
    loaded into that shell;
$certMgr = New-Object -ComObject IIS.CertObj returns the following error message:
    New-Object : Cannot load COM type IIS.CertObj

More or less the one thing that I am trying to get up and running is an automated FTPS solution - I just use the IIS console to be able to troubleshoot / compare how things scripted from POSH interacts in the MMC representation. The error I am getting
might be that I am lacking some IIS components to be in place to be able to automate some parts of the IIS - as suggested by the IIS.CertObj object listed in the example..... I will get back if I can track down which component needs to be added to be
able to reference the IIS.CertObj object.

  • How do i run java application on IIS

    Hi,
Can I run java application on IIS(Internet information Server)?
If yes, How do i do that?
My java application contains JSP,Servlets and EJB.
To run java application on IIS which plug in should i use.
Can anybody help me This is urgent...........
    Thanx

You can try using Macromedia JRUN version 4. Any of the version will have an ISAPI filter which you can add to the IIS site of your JSP/Servlet.
The JRUN ISAPI filter will establish connection to the JRUN proxy listener on a port. This port is called proxy listener port. Basically once you install the ISAPI, it will have config file called jrun.ini
Check for the ProxyPort entry in jrun.ini (or something like this - sorry, I can't remember the exact entry). It should match to the proxy listener port where of the server where your JSP/Servlet is intalled.
    Good luck !

  • Apache,IIS integration with Sun Java System Application Server

    Hi,
Is any one know the way to connect Sun Appserver with IIS and Apace server.
    Edited by: shiju707 on Oct 10, 2007 8:22 PM

I'm also looking at the same solution of how to configure IIS as the front end for the Sun Java System Application Server 9.1. I went though the following document from Sun, but still unable to configure the IIS as the front end of the application server.
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-3679/abdhq?a=view
After i have configured the IIS, the ISAPI filter shown the status down for the Sun Load balancer plugin.
Did anyone have any idea of how can i configure IIS to working the Sun Java System Application Server 9.1?

  • Iisforward.dll causing IIS crash (IIS4 and IIS5)

After having discovered SP6 breaks iis proxying on IIS5 (unsupported, I
know), I began making test preparations on an IIS4 box. I am
    encountering the same problems.
I install the iisforward.dll ISAPI filter.
I create the extension mappings, .jsp and .wlforward
(if there are special IIS settings on the "home directory" page it would
be nice if this was noted)
    I create the iisproxy.ini:
    WebLogicHost=jubjub
    WebLogicPort=7001
    ConnectTimeoutSecs=20
    ConnectRetrySecs=2
    WlForwardPath=/weblogic (I have tried a PathTrim=/weblgic here as well)
    Debug=on
    DebugConfigInfo=on
I restart IIS Admin service and start the Web publishing service.
A request: http://webserver/weblogic/session causes an application
error on the webserver and the request to hang. Same thing I've
experienced on IIS5. If I use SP5, I see no errors.

Acknowleding that there is a bug that causes problems with IIS is on a
different box than WebLogic, I still have a problem getting proxing by path
to work when both are on the same machine. I followed the instructions for
installing the proxy, but have not been able to get it to work at all. Did
you find anything unclear in the instructions that you could provide clarity
to that would at least get me to the same "level of working" as you are?
    Thanks,

YES, we are experiencing similar problems, on a similar configuration.
We do not suffer any problems when running IIS on the same box asweblogic,
    i.e., setting "WebLogicHost=localhost" in the iisproxy.ini file.
Till the moment, we have found NO workaround for this problem - WLS seemsto
be ignoring the WebLogicHost and WebLogicPort parameters in iisproxy.ini,
other than localhost and 7001 (to which it defaults).
We have reported this situation to BEA Support, it has been assigned Ref#
    200240.
Follow excerpts of our report, below:
    Detailed Problem Description
    ======================
IIS breaks when forwarding requests to WebLogic Server
    installed in a different box.
The problem seems to be wls ignoring WebLogicHost and
WebLogicPort parameters in iisproxy.ini other than localhost and 7001.

  • How to: configure IIS 6.0 (w2k3) to fwd HTTP requests to SJSAS (PE) 9.0

    Hi all,
My question is this; can Microsoft IIS be configured to redirect/fwd HTTP requests Sun Java System Application Server PE 9.0?
I'm looking to switch over to SJSAS (PE) 9.0 from a mainly Apache Tomcat based setup. Within the current setup i'm able to configure IIS (6.0) to redirect (passthrough) HTTP requests (via port 80), to a Tomcat instance running via another port (9090) to avoid server conflict. Within Tomcat this is achieved by using an ISAPI redirect filter (e.g. JK2, isapi_redirect.dll).
Having read through the available docs (for 9.0) and performed the usual trawl of forums and web in general i found a number of references to the configuration of Microsoft IIS to forward HTTP requests to SJAS 9.0 for the purposes of setting up load balancing and clustering. Everything i've seen so far points to the use of an ISAPI filter (sun-passthrough.dll) however whilst this appears to come bundled with earlier (pre 9.0) versions of SJSAS i could find no trace of it in the SJSAS (PE) 9.0 install dirs.
I then stumbled across this (http://www.theserverside.com/news/thread.tss?thread_id=31701#156874) reasonably old TheServerSide.com forum post that seems to say in fairly certain terms that the sun-passthrough.dll (referred to in the post as the 'Load Balancer Plugin') only comes bundled as part of SJSAS 9.0 Standard and Enterprise Editions. Is this still the case?
Is there any way of setting this sort of thing up (IIS -> SJSAS (PE) 9.0 redirect) without having to either install Sun Java Web Server or find some clunky hack/workaround for IIS?.
NOTE: Switching off, changing port # or uninstallation of IIS are not currently options, as we have a number of ASP.NET 2.0 based development sites/services running on the box as well.
Hope the questions clear enough and that someone can help.
    Many thanks,
    Simon Abele

You can use proxy plugin for IIS - it is the same one for appserver 7.x and 8.x. I believe it should work for appserver 9.x as well.
    Here is the docs: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2555/6n4r9qo8g?a=view
and the plugin could be downloaded here:

  • Remote_User for MS IIS 7 + Weblogic 10.3 ?

    Hi all,
i have a problem using IIS 7.0 (Windows Server 2008) and Weblogic Server 10.3 together using the IntegratedWindowsAuthentication(Negotiate/NTLM). Via the iisForward.dll (as ISAPI Filter) and iisproxy.dll i forward all requests to a WebLogic instance, but the request.getRemoteUser() method on the WebLogic page always returns 'null'.The authenticated user appears in the Header as 'Proxy-Remote-User', which i guess is set by the iisproxy.dll, but that doesnt help, because our web application needs the getRemoteUser() of the request beeing set. Using the same configuration with Apache Tomcat 6.0 (setting tomcatAuthentication to false) or WebLogic 8.1 i get a value for getRemoteUser(). Did anything change since then ? How can i make Weblogic forward the RemoteUser attribute now ? Do i need SSL ? I also tried using the WindowsNTAuthenticator instead of the DefaultAuthenticator but got the same result...
I'm not an expert, but the request object looks fine to me:

    WLS intentionally returns "null" for
getRemoteUser() call to guard against a security vulnerability.
However, to support applications which depend on this method, it does provide
the following system flag. To get the value from the REMOTE_USER header in
the request through the getRemoteUser() call, you need to start the WLS
server with the following JVM System flag.
    -Dweblogic.http.enableRemoteUserHeader=true
    Important Note:
Please be informed that by enabling this feature, the system would be
vulnerable to the REMOTE_USER HTTP header spoofing.

  • POST problems with IIS Plugin

I am using the latest version of the IIS plugin for Weblogic (build: Apr 14 2002
    17:53:13)
It seems that the ISAPI Filter (iisforward.dll) does not forward all http POSTs
    - however it does seem to work fine for http GET's.
We have configured the plugin (you will see the attached debug dump) to forward
all calls on "/weblogic". If we perform http GET's on such a URL (using IE) everything
works fine - and the call is routed to Weblogic.
When we make a SOAP call using our C++ client, (a http POST) through the IIS plugin
we get a 405 error. If we artificially add the ".wlforward" extension on the context
URL (in our C++ client ) then it is forwarded correctly to weblogic by the Application
Extension (iisproxy.dll) - so the problem lies with the ISAPI filter. Also, if
we remove the ISAPI filter from IIS, we get the same 405 error - which confirms
that the ISAPI filter is not catching the POST's.
More puzzling, however, is that the SOAP requests from our Java SOAP client (using
    WLS SOAP) works fine.
The problem must have something to do with the difference in structure of the
    POSTS.

    Thanks.
Sadly, my IIS configuration is correct. The plugin seems to work fine if Ijust
use my browser (http GET) for either forward-by-extension (*.jsp) orforward-by-path
    (/weblogic/*).
However, there seems to be a problem when I use SOAP (http POST). For somereason,
when I use my C++ SOAP client (using WASP), then the ISAPI filter (the onethat
generates the .wlforward on the URL) doesnt modify the URL - hence the403...
If I use my java client.... everything is fine. Comparing the two httppackets,
I dont see anything obviously wrong - but something is making the WLSplugin choke.

  • InterMedia Web Agent on IIS

I have installed the Web Agent on IIS and when I run the ../intermedia/~about I get the message 'The remote procedure call failed'. This does not look like an Oracle error but may be one.
I have chacked ALL logs and there is no information to say something is wrong. I have check the ISAPI filter and it is running and I have chacked the web directory containing the DLL and this looks fine.
    Any help?
    Lee

First of all, check the following locations for Web Agent log files:
    - <Oracle_Home>\ord\web\logs\wsc_yymmdd_pid.log
    - wsclstchr.err under %SystemRoot% (NT) or /tmp (unix)
If you don't have log files there, that means you are not getting to Web Agent yet. The problems have occured somewhere before you get to Web Agent.
