ISE 1.2 NAC solution for 12500 Persona Deployment

i have a deployment sceniro for  NAC solution ( ISE ) must support 12500 users and must provide the ability to implement security policies onendpoints before they connect so should i order ISE-3395 with ISE -3315 or its not a workable solution please advice

Hi Shakeeb,
The total number of appliances needed in a deployment depends on multiple factors and not just the number of endpoints as described here :
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps5712/ps11637/ps11195/guide_c07-656177.html
Refer to Step 2: Estimate the Number of Appliances or Servers Needed for the Deployment
We have a dedicated team at Cisco who deals with presales issues, I would advise you to contact them for more guidance. Here is their contact info :

  • Is there a solution for Digital Persona and Windows 10 and Edge or Google

    I upgarded to windows 10 and now my digital persona does not work.  Is there a solution for Microsoft Edge?  If not is there a solution for google?  I can make google my defult browser but it does not work there either?

    We upgraded one laptop at home and I wasn't very surprised to find out that the backup / imaging program we were using on Windows 7 (Backup Exec System Recovery) stopped working.  It's a nice program that I've been using for years - creates a base image then incrementals on a schedule.  Allows for simple full bare metal recovery or for file recovery by mounting an image inside the program.
    Have any of you tested anything similar in Windows 10?

  • What is the recommended font management solution for an Enterprise deployment of Creative Cloud - Design edition (does not include TypeKit)?

    We are deploying Creative Cloud across multiple systems today and it was under the assumption that TypeKit came with all versions. Most of our team has Design edition - no typekit. How do you recommend we manage the fonts? Have been using Suitcase Fusion prior to our upgrade.

    Hi Jill,
    I would like to inform you that Adobe Typekit is an online service which comes with named user deployment only. i would suggest to manage your licenses through Adobe enterprise dashboard which enables online services for users. Please visit the article below for more info.

  • Cisco ISE 1.2.1 solution BYOD

    Hi there.
    I wanna setup Cisco ISE 1.2.1 solution for my wireless users.The solution will have 2 SSID.
    SSID: Guest
    This will be used with guest portal and self registration portal for guests. dedicated VLAN or dAcl will be applied
    SSID:Employee
    This will be used for all corporate devices with corporate machine certificates (EAP-TLS) corporate dAcl will be applied (permit ip any any)
    This will also be used for BYOD devices. All devices that dosent have corporate machine certificate needs to authenticate by PEAP and MSCHAPv2. The device will go trough self provisiong process and gets BYOD certificate from dedicated BYOD CA server by SCEP. dAcl will be applied that only gives access to the internet.
    I wanna hear about your experiences about this kind of setup. Pros and cons. What do you think?

    1. PEAP is definitely a protocol that is protected and secure. The difference from EAP-TLS is that it only requires a server-side certificate which is used to create the secure (TLS) tunnel. After the tunnel is build then credentials are passed via the inner method which is usually MS-CHAPv2:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protected_Extensible_Authentication_Protocol
    2. Once authentication happens then wireless traffic encryption would be handled by the encryption method chosen on the WLC which is usually AES:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Encryption_Standard3. I don't have a configuration example that I can share since there are many different variables that can alter the configurations. For instance, certificate templates being used, AD structure, certificates used for PEAP, etc. Below are some sample documentations that I found on Cisco's site. They reference ACS but they should still give you a good idea on what is needed:http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/5500-series-wireless-controllers/113670-eap-authentication-00.html
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11567346/ise-and-eap-tlsI have also heard good things about Lab Minutes videos even though I have not watched them myself:http://www.labminutes.com/video/sec/ISE4. Yes, you can have ISE nodes communicate and sync over MPLS. You just need to make sure that you have enough bandwidth and that your round trip delay is less than 150ms5. I am not sure if it is possible NOT to show the guest credentials when registering for a guest account. I know they can be send via e-mail or sms but not aware of a way to prevent them from showing up on the screen.Thank you for rating helpful posts!

    Hello,
    Our scenario is that we have an Adobe ColdFusion8 server running a portal application which will serve up SWF content from a FMS3 installation. We need to protect the SWF content from being a) downloaded to a users local machine and b) being accessed without being logged into the portal application.
    Please correct me here if I am wrong - it looks like the combination of RTMPE + SWF Verification are the minimum necessary, but I am confused as to these other practices and which ones to use (or can be used on FMS and not FMIS):
    1) Refererr and pageURL check validation
    OR
    2) IP Address validation
    OR
    3) White list domains
    Any suggestions on the best method to accomplish this using RTMPE + SWF Verification + (1, 2, or 3)?
    Thank you,

  • I currently have one iTunes account for my personal iPod Touch and for my work iPhone and iPad.  Can I create a separate account for work and keep my current account for my personal use - on the same computers?

    I have an iTunes account for my personal iPod Touch - have had for several years.  When my work provided me with an iPhone and now and iPad 2, they all fall under my personal iTunes account.  Is it possible for me to create a separate account for my work devices and apps, while leaving my personal account intact?  I use both my compter at home and at work to sync occasionally.

    A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

  • Solution for intermittent use of a single Adobe product?

    I may be a unique case, because I do not want or really need all of the products that Adobe provides my for $30/month. Here is my dilemma:
    I use Adobe illustrator infrequently, sometimes intensively for a month or so, but then I will not use it for the better part of a year. This is how I use the application.
    So, I'm feel that being financially penalized for continuing to use Illustrator, since I pay for it every single month of my life, but use it infrequently. For example, if I use the program 20 times in 10 years (which is about how I do use it), then I am paying (according to the current student deal which I am sure will change in the coming 10 years time), $3600.00 over the course of 10 years to use the program 20 times. That works out to $180.00 per use.
    Obviously I am not in good conscience able to renew my subscription with Adobe, and would have ended it earlier were it not for the severe financial penalty Adobe imposes on users for breaking a subscription contract before its official expiration.
    Before I go, I just wonder if Adobe has any care for users such as myself. I know one unsatisfactory response already: I can by the full version, not get incremental updates, and will need to pay full price for each major upgrade. That's a bad deal too. How can a infrequent user of a single Adobe product (Illustrator) use the application for a reasonable amount of money? I don't need every Adobe product under the sun nor do I like the fact that somewhere in Adobe's hierarchy they think that is some kind of advantage to users. To me, that is product bloat, bordering on spam marketing.If I want a sip of water, I have to drink from the fire hydrant. This is so bone-headed.
    I suppose, overall, I will advise my students to use what software the company they work for uses. But as far as a personal graphics package for independent work, I cannot recommend Adobe products anymore because of this pricing scheme, which really does penalize people who only use a product one in a while. But before I go, am I missing something? Is my assessment of this dilemma on target? I know I can no longer afford Adobe products, but I also want to advise my students in a way that is fair to them. Currently I am working on a module that shows all of the vector mapping graphics programs and breaks them down according to their feature set and cost for the user.
    I've been using Adobe Illustrator for over two decades, and I will be sad to not have it available to me in the future, but this new business model and pricing structure no longer makes sense for me. Yes, considering the time and energy I've put into the program this is an emotional decision, but ending my relationship with Adobe is the healthy choice. It's like walking away from an abusive relationship of the passive-agressive variety. Adobe, what a drag!

    On the face of it, the $30 for every monthly use seems like it might be a good solution for intermittent users. But, as a designers, I think many of us might like to take a brief look at an idea (sometimes just for the fun of it.) And so, if during one month I want to take a peek at some of my work with no real intention of doing any work, I would need to pay $30 to look at my own work. This kind of situation creates a kind of "double bind" for me. It's an uneasy feeling, having a kind of oppressive effect on the creative flow of ideas. Consider this case scenario: "I think I can improve that logo I did last summer. I wonder what this change would look like?" Well, to find out that will be $30.00. For me, that's an uncomfortable position. Again, thanks for the thoughtful reply.

  • Mouse over solution for jdk1.0

    hi all,
    I am interested in making the equivalent of a mouse over solution for a java applet.
    Basically I'll have approximately 100 Rectangle objects representing images on the applet.
    When the person moves the mouse over these 100 rectangle objects, i'll use contains() method to determine if the mouse is over the object in question.
    If true, the image will be changed to represent the mouse over event .
    I thought for a msecond about looping through all the rectangle objects each time the mouse moves. but that seemed impractical since the mouse can move pretty quickly.
    It seemed to me the best option was to extend the Rectangle object and put an event listener on it . so that the Rectangle object can be triggered at the same time or individually as needed in response to the mousemove event .
    Does anyone have any thoughts about that ?
    does anyone know how I would possible implement something like that for java 1.0
    thanks
    stev

    it seems like I have to extend Component some how to get access to enableEvents method.
    Here is my class
    class ListeningRectangle extends Rectangle{
         public ListeningRectangle(int w, int x, int y, int z, Component c){
              super(w,x,y,z);
              c.enableEvents(AWTEvent.MOUSE_MOTION_EVENT_MASK);
         public void mouseMoved (MouseEvent me) {
         System.out.println("event has been received by rectangle");
    I am using this class in conjunction with a java applet (targetted to 1.0-1.1 ).
    I'm passing a reference of the applet in to create this ListeningRectangle like this
    new ListeningRectangle(a,b,c,d,this);
    my objective is to have about 100 different rectangle areas defined on the java applet.
    and when the person moves the moves the mouse of the applet rapidly, only the appropriate ListeningRectangle object would respond.
    any ideas on how to get this done ? ?

  • Is RoboHelp Server the solution for us?

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to figure out whether RH Server is the solution for us. I've seen a few similar posts in the forums, but none that really answer my specific questions. I'm hoping for feedback from someone with experience in RH Server, who is perhaps in a similar situation to us.
    We are a software development company, creating desktop software for PCs. We have three main applications, and approximately 20,000 users. I am the company's (only) Tech Writer.
    Currently I provide documentation (user guides) to our clients in the form of the good ol' CHM file. I develop these in RH8. Each of our applications is bundled with an installed CHM file which users access by pressing F1. I'm sure you're all familiar with this process. Our users run our software on their own systems, completely independent of us - there's no connection to us whatsoever. However, they all have Internet access, as it's a requirement for them to be able to use certain functionality within our applications. Hold that thought.
    I also write Knowledge Base Articles in MS Word, as PDFs, which users access via our web site. Internal to our organisation, I provide KBAs and other such material for our Technical Support staff. These aren't available/accessible to the public. I write these in Word because they need to be sent around to a team of reviewers from time-to-time, and whilstI'm the only person with RH installed, everyone has Word.
    What I'm hoping to achieve with RH Server is this:
    Do away with the old CHM files that our users have. They're just awful. I'm hoping that in future, when our users press F1 from within our applications, they will be taken to a corresponding page on a web site or AIR page similar to what the Adobe Help looks like when we access it from RoboHelp. Forgive my ignorance if I've used incorrect terminology. That way they'll always be reading the latest Help content, live, online, instead of what I wrote last time we sent a product update out. I imagine our programmers will have to edit the functionality behind the action of our users pressing F1 in our applications. Has anyone done this? Are there any issues we should be aware of? What happens if our users don't currently have Internet access, for example - is it possible to call a local version of the Help instead, if this is detected? Has anyone done this with a similar number of users to us? We could well have 100s of users trying to access the system simultaneously.
    Gather feedback from users. From what I understand, we'll be able to use RH Server to see which Help topic/content is being viewed, and also receive feedback from users. Can anyone give me feedback on their experiences with this? Any tips/hints/issues I need to be aware of? Is it possible for us to determine which users accessed which content? Remember, the idea is that users should be able to access this content by pressing F1 - I don't want them to have to sign in every time they need to access our Help system - it should be seamless to them. So, I'm wondering how it would be possible to track user usage without making them sign in. This is important to us because some of our content is region-specific, and it would be handy to know if users from those regions are actually accessing the Help content that relates to them.
    Host our internal documentation on the same server as our public documentation. Is it possible to host all of our internal, private documentation on the same RH Server, making it available to our Tech Support team (and other internal teams) only? I imagine we could do this by password-protecting it, but I want to ensure that the public don't even know it exists. ...and our Tech Support people would not be impressed with having to sign in every time they wanted to access their Knowledge Base. Any tips here regarding locking down / restricting access to content?
    A quick note about collaboration:
    Currently, although the Help menus are developed in RH, the KBAs and other PDF documents are written in MS Word. I send them around to a team of reviewers who add their comments/edits and send them back to me. From what I understand, this is something I can do with RH10 - export PDFs and send them around for review, combining the results later, at which time I give them a final review before publishing. Have I understood this correctly? Does RH Server play a part in this process? Can I use RH Server's feedback capabilities as a mechanism for my review team to make edits/comments? I guess I'm trying to get an understanding of how sophisticated the RH Server feedback system is. If I can use RH Server to have the team read/review documents, it'll save me having to manage a bunch of Word documents that I email them. It'll also minimise the chance that a redundant document gets distributed by mistake - something that can occur because people use their locally-saved documents I emailed them earlier, instead of the finals.
    Thank you.

    Hi, symmetricalMan
    Let's see if I can tackle some of these "inline". There are a lot of moving parts to your system (you're a busy guy!)
    I only have time for a few of these. Perhaps Colum McAndrew and others will chime it with their experiences.
    >>they will be taken to a corresponding page on a web site or AIR page similar to what the Adobe Help looks like when we access it from RoboHelp.
    It would be WebHelp Pro in the scenario you mention (not AIR Help).
    By "taken to a corresponding page" you are referring to Context Sensitive Help which RoboHelp Server does support (including your F1 scenario).
    >>What happens if our users don't currently have Internet access, for example - is it possible to call a local version of the Help instead, if this is detected?
    Hmm. You could either package a plain WebHelp (not Pro) output and distribute for access on a share drive. The detection thing would be up to your developers. Come to think of it, AIR Help does have a potential alternative here which might be worth looking into. Obviously, there would be two systems to maintain. I'm not up to date on it, but you'll find info here in the online help: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/robohelp/robohtml/WS81F63111-6ACF-4a02-B2B2-461FEBFA8093.html
    >>.we'll be able to use RH Server to see which Help topic/content is being viewed, and also receive feedback from users.
    Actually, the "feedback" is anonymous (no names are collected.) You can however, create "Areas" and analyze the traffic on topics according to sub-sets of your users.
    The feedback is not direct from the users. In other words, RoboHelp Server (at least for now) does not support Commenting (as AIR Help does). So Feedback Reports are derived from the end-users "surfing" your site and collecting their search terms verbatim to get an idea of what they are searching for in order to improve your content.
    >>So, I'm wondering how it would be possible to track user usage without making them sign in.
    RH Server Sites do not have to be "Protected" by authentication. It is your choice. You can have some sites (called Areas) that are authenticated and some sites that are not authenticated, all on the same RH Server. RoboHelp Server uses a database and can authenticate users (by setting up protected "Areas".) However, my networking knowledge is limited and you would have to ask someone else about "persistent logins" etc.
    >>content is region-specific, and it would be handy to know if users from those regions are actually accessing the Help content that relates to them.
    Yes, you can do this. This is where RoboHelp Server can be used to create "Areas" for different content to be delivered to different audiences.
    >>Is it possible to host all of our internal, private documentation on the same RH Server,
    Yes you can. However the Tech Support sign in scenario question would have to be answered by someone else. It's hard to know from where I sit.
    >>RH10 - export PDFs and send them around for review, combining the results later, at which time I give them a final review before publishing
    Yes, this workflow would seem to work for you. However, RoboHelp Server plays no role in this review one way or the other. There are many alternatives for sharing the PDF which is described in the documentation.
    See #6 on this page:

  • W530 – Solution for lack of eSATAp port

    Hi All,
    When I was analyzing laptop specifications to buy a new one, I was disappointed because I have some external eSATA disks, and there were no eSATAp connector on any W530 model. Anyway, I brought one and I can assure you it is a solid and great machine.
    Meanwhile I found a good and almost inexpensive solution for this problem. It is a small adapter from Addonics that connects to USB 3.0 port and converts to an eSATAp port. (Since I live in Portugal to avoid customs costs I got mine from Aimtec (UK)).
    I measure transfers of 120 MB/s with my 2,5” external disk and so far I am totally satisfied with this solution. To avoid mechanical stress in the laptop port, I suggest using an small USB3.0 extension cable (15 cm) instead of connecting directly the adapter to the computer.
    (NOTE: I have no comercial interest or own any stock options on the referred companies. My only purpose is to share with other members this workaround since Lenovo dropped the support of eSATAp ports on W530 model).

    W530 i7-3610QM Quadro K1000M 1600x900 16GB 500GB HDD mSATA Mushkin Atlas 120 GB - Win7 x64

    Dear sophware,
    I don't think this Sonnet adapter supplies power to the external drive. It is eSATA not eSATAp. In this case it is necessary to connect another cable to an USB port to supply power to the external disk.
    In my own opinion I think it is better to have an external adapter than an internal one:
    a) If outside, the heat it generates will be dissipated in the air while the heat generated by the internal adapter will be added to the one already inside and generated by the CPU, graphics etc..
    b) Call me a too much careful person, but in case of internal adapter problem or short circuit, I prefer it occurs outside my machine. The electrical isolation is greater in a USB port than in the ExpressCard/34 Bus. Any electric pick or static discharge and the motherboard internal bus buffers may be damage.
    These are the reasons why I choose an external adapter.
    Best regards,
    A.Nuno

  • Is ColdFusion the solution for me?

    I've recently started working with Air for a client and I've been having somewhat of a hard time converting.  I'm normally a .net developer so I'm trying to overcome my learning curve.  I'd like to know if ColdFusion would be a good solution for the problem I'm facing.
    I have an Air application that needs access to a simple xml file that sits on an external server.  This file can't be exposed for security reasons.  The security can be simple, I just don't want any random person being able to view it via a link.  I noticed ColdFusion could help here.  It seems as though I may be able to use the URLLoader with a URLVariable and call a ColdFusion application that's on the server that has access to the document.  Is this the case or am I oversimplifying this.  I got the idea from an example http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/dev/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118a9b90204-7cfd.html#WS5b3cc c516d4fbf351e63e3d118666ade46-7cb2.  If this is the case, I'll get CF and all will be well in the world.
    My other solution was to write a .Net web service and try to access it with AS3 but that seems fairly messy to me.  I also considered a PHP script that could give it to me but that as well seems messy.
    So I ask, is CF for me?
    I appreciate any help.  This is a new concept and a new development environment so I apologize in advance.

    Price aside, would CF work for my solution?  Here is what I'm thinking.  I'm sure this isn't correct but should give an understanding.  If I use the following code(I'd add in some variables later):
    <cfset myXML= XMLParse(ExpandPath("xmlDoc.xml"))>
    <cfoutput>outputXML=myXML</cfoutput>
    And make a simple call to it like this:
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest();
    request.url = "myaddress.com/xmlReader.cfm;
    request.method = URLRequestMethod.POST;
    var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader().
    //add the rest of the code here
    Am I oversimplifying this or would it reabe this simple?  If it is this simple, I don't mind making this investment.  I could use this kind of functionality on a few other applications I intend on making and I'm sure I can find new uses once I dig into CF.
    As far as price, it looks like the standard edition is in my price range if I'm correct.  I was pricing the enterprise edition previously.

  • Is there a COMPONENT video OUT solution for the iBook?

    I am currently using Apple's Video Adapter (mini-VGA to S-Video) to hook up to my widescreen. Let's face it, S-Video *****. I am trying to find a solution that would allow me to get component video out of my iBook and run that into my widescreen.
    Is there a VGA->Component Video Adapter available that would work with the mini-VGA -> VGA adapter that ships with the iBook? (Or some other way to get a component video signal?)
    Thanks!
    iBook G4 1.2GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   1.25 GB RAM

    Hi Mactivist,
    i am not an expert on this video stuff but I think
    you might find this useful. Although the
    procedure described is about a Mac Mini (which has a
    dvi connector) the guy actually used a DVI-VGA
    adapter. Therefore, I believe, the set-up described
    should work for you too.

    Unfortunately, iBooks do not have DVI out. What I really need is a VGA to Component video adapter.
    And for the person who wasn't sure what a component video cable looks like, this is a cable that has 3 rca-like plugs on it, each one supplies a different color (RGB I think).
    So far, I've not found a VGA adapter that can do this unless you are using an ATI video card as the source.

  • Invalid ELF Heder [possible solution, for the unlucky]

    well i duno whre to post this, but whatevr..
    [woffle]
    yesterday i found that for whatever reason a lot of apps stop working ,
    and instead started complaining about libc.so..6 having an invalid ELF Header... [?] i dunno, that was before and after the upgrade to the 2.5 version...
    anyay, i googled it and found a few random users with this problem, so i knew it had nothign to do with anything.. prolly just the unlucky ones lol..
    [possible solution]
    anways... i managed to fix it [i think] by linking /usr/lib/libc.so.6 to /lib/libc.so.*2.5 instead of /usr/lib/libc.so
    [add]
    /usr/lib/libc.so is an ld-script btw. duno if it should be that way..
    i'd file a bug report, but as i said.. it just happened out of teh blue, i did no sys up/down-grades , compiles, nothing... apart form install kdebase to get kate...

    Hi Florin,
    Check person type useage also. coz When Employee.Ex-Applicant' person type changes to 'Employee.Applicant', no other actions can be processed for that person.
    Kind Regards,

  • Solution for Bug 13412084: RESTRICT PAYMENT: IT SHOULD NOT ALLOW PAYMENT BE

    http://attiqahmed.wordpress.com/2012/03/20/solution-for-bug-13412084-restrict-payment-it-should-not-allow-payment-before-invoice-accrual/

    hello sir Octavio
    Im sorry.. I failed to tell you that our encoder of invoices is separate from the one who entry for payments.
    Therefore, the encoder uses the invoices batches[(N) Invoices>Entry>Invoice Batches] whereas the Paymaster(the one who entered payments?) uses the Payments [Payments>Entry>Payments]
    By the way your suggestion did work to disable the Pay in Full checkbox.. but i decided to get rid of the actions button for the encoder.. and another person will be handling the validation and create accounting having such access.
    So what i wanted is that the paymaster wouldn't be able see among the LOV of invoices at the Payments Form if its not created accounting.
    I wanna make sure that all invoices are created accounting.
    thank you so much for the understanding..:-)

  • Solution for OPML error in SOA suite Startup (Win Vista x64 and older)

    h1. Hi Folks!
    When installing SOA suite on Vista 64 bit I encountered lots of problems. One of them was the following upon starting the SOA suite:
    At 33% in the progress bar, the starter gives an error, returning a question about OPMN.
    Caused by: oracle.ias.opmn.optic.OpticBadConnectException: Error connecting to OPMN (is it running?): Connection refused: connect
    Being a newbie in this field, I resisted to learn everything (Oracle as part of a course of Busines Process Integration Laboratories at the University) about the works behind the package. Unfortunately, OPMN drove me crazy for days!
    The main problem for OPMN is the unability for the system to handle certain issues.
    One of the issues: When in a testing environment that is unstable (i.e. a laptop) some issues occur:
    * sleep resume is not supported
    * hibernation resume is not supported
    * restart is not always working for all processes
    (tested this with XP32 & XP64 SP2; SP 3; Vista 32 and Vista 64)
    The main issue is with OPMN and the services that are started and controlled through it.
    A solution for our workgroup has been made:
    -create a reset.bat file
    -use the following code:
    +@echo off+
    ECHO Step 1 in the server reset is running: Shutdown OPMN processes
    D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\opmn\bin\opmnctl shutdown
    ECHO Please continue the reset sequence by pressing any key
    pause
    ECHO Step 2 in the server reset is running: Restarting OPMN processes
    D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\opmn\bin\opmnctl startall
    END
    The commands regarding ECHO and the pause break can be omitted, but for supervision it is better to see if all processes are started in working order.
    Please note the absolute paths, these are from my personal setup as they are the default from the manual. Adjust if necessary.
    As User Account Control (UAC) does interfere a lot with programs in Vista (32 & 64) and from SP3 also with XP, please assign administrator rights to the reset.bat file.
    This solution should take care of the "OPMN (is it running?)" issue, without rebooting or cold restarting the server.
