ISight Resolution for VPN calls

Hi,
I am having issues with bandwidth when using iSight and Mac:Messenger and wondered if there is anyway of reducing the resolution of the camera to help with the bandwidth being used?
Thanks
Gavin

Then it would be an idea to post in their forum, if they have one as its their software that controls a cam.

  • ATT resolution for Dropped Calls

    Greetings,
If you call ATT, you can get a credit for all your dropped calls.
While it sounds like it is really an Apple issue with their custom chipset, antenna placement, production quality, and/or dare I say software: ATT will refund you for all your dropped calls.
They will try to credit you rollover minutes, tell them you want cash credit towards your bill.
They just gave me 75.00 Cash Credit!
    Go ATT.
    Apple, feel the heat yet???
ATT, Hit 0, then hit 0, then you will be transferred to customer care:
    1-800-331-0500
Hope this helps, now go get your money!

Hi marcg888. I know how important having reliable phone service at home can be. But indoor service can be tricky with all the things that can cause interference. Anything from electronics to the actual matierial your home is built from can cause signal to be weaker indoors, in addition to the distance from the cell tower having a factor. Since you mentioned reception outside is fine, a great investment to consider is our Network Extender http://bit.ly/AKkC to help essentially bring a mini tower into your home. It's extremely helpful to avoid dropped calls and improve the service inside your home.
    Thank you

Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

    Hi ,
It is not clear what the specifications of your setup are supposed to look like . However could take a  look at "
Cisco Virtualization Experience Media Engine"  since you plan on having voice and video in a virtualized environment :

  • CAS SSO not working for VPN Group

    Hello,
I am trying to get SSO working for a CAS/CAM in a inband virtual gateway for VPN users coming in off a ASA5520. There are two VPN groups each with its own group policy and tunnel group. One group uses a Windows IAS Radius Server and the other a token based RADIUS RSA device.
Users use the AnyConnect client to connect to the ASA where they are dumped into a vlan. SSO works for the group that uses the Winodws radius server. On the CAS the Cisco VPN Auth server has the Unauthenticated Group as the default group, and then I use mapping rules (Framed_IP_Address) to get the different vpn groups into the right roles. This works for the one group, but since SSO is not working on the second group the CAS never gets the chance to assign them into the correct role.
The only thing I got is this from the ASA:
AAA Marking RADIUS server billybob in aaa-server group cas_accounting as ACTIVE
AAA Marking RADIUS server billybob in aaa-server group cas_accounting as FAILED
I am so close but cant call this done yet....

    Hey Faisel,
    Thanks for the question.
This is the stange thing. For days Group A (Windows Radius Server) was working and Group B (RSA Radius Server)  would not work. Then for some reason I had to reboot the CAS and BOOM...Group B started working and Group A STOPPED working.
So on the ASA I now get these:
AAA Marking RADIUS server cas2-hvn-3515 in aaa-server group cas_accounting2 as ACTIVE
AAA Marking RADIUS server cas2-hvn-3515 in aaa-server group cas_accounting2 as FAILED
Where cas_accounting2 is the AAA server group for Group A
On the ASA I can see that the FW sends a packet to the cas:
    "send pkt cas2-hvn-3515/1813"
but the FW never gets an answer back from the CAS for Group A whereas with Group B I can see the response from the CAS.
    "rad_vrfy() : response message verified"
What can I look for in the CAS logs to see where the problem is. I will try and setup a packet capture on the CAS and debug it too.

  • My phone displays numbers instead of contact names for incoming calls and text - how do I fix?

My phone displays numbers instead of contact names for incoming calls and text - how do I fix?  It used to display the names if there was a contact listed, now it just shows numbers regardless of whether or not the number corresponds to a contact name in the contact list.  Can anyone help?  I googled this problem and lots of folks have experienced it, however there is not a consensus for a resolution.

Alexandribill, I have been having the exact same issue.  I got a new phone and restored my contacts.  If the # doesn't have the area code first then the name isn't shown.  I just added my husbands area code to my phone and called my phone from his and now his name shows up...Ugh, I have to go through and manually add the area code to all my contacts....
I'd say Verizon needs to rewrite their program to include the area code in the restoring from backup process!

  • Problem with iSight resolution in iMovie 08

Every time I change the resolution for the iSight camera in iMovie 08 it freezes. It seems to work fine at vga resolution but not the higher resolution that it gives me as an option. It worked one time so far and don't ask me how. After it freezes and I quit iMovie the camera can't be used by any application including iMovie until the computer is restarted. Is anyone able to help me out with this problem? If any more details are needed I would be happy to give them. Thanks.

I've answered my own problem. It has to do with the "created" date; most of these clips came over from my PC, so they all have the same date. By modifying that, you resolve the problem and it reorders the clips.

  • How we will maintain screen resolution for tmaintaining able control in BDC

how we will maintain screen resolution for tmaintaining able control in BDC. can you give the code or how we have to set it

    Hi,
You need to use the CTU_PARAM options with the call transaction method. This is used if you would like to do a commit work once call trnasaction is done. This has also got very important property, for example if your Screen resolution is different from others then the screen (Application) will be different that is you'll be having say 5 lines in your screen where as your friend will be having 8 or 10 so your program might fail in this case. If you set variable DEFSIZE as 'X' it will always use the default screen size and hence avoids error.
Use CALL TRANSACTION 'XXX' OPTIONS FROM w_ctu_params.( type CTU_PARAMS)
    This structure contains the follwing.
DISMODE : Display mode (like the MODE addition)
UPDMODE: Update mode (like the UPDATE addition)
CATTMODE: CATT mode (controls a CATT)
CATT mode can have the following values:
    ' ' No CATT active
    'N' CATT without single-screen control
    'A' CATT with single-screen control
DEFSIZE : Use default window size (Here we are handling those transaction by giving default window size)
RACOMMIT: Do not end transaction at COMMIT WORK
NOBINPT : No batch input mode (that is, SY-BINPT = SPACE)
NOBIEND : No batch input mode after the end of BDC data.
The components DEFSIZE , RACOMMIT, NOBINPT, and NOBIEND always take the following values:
    'X' Yes
This might help u in better understanding...

  • ACS/ASA authentication for vpn access vs. console management access

I have an ACS 4.2 Server and an ASA 5540. I have setup AnyConnect SSL VPN on the ASA and want to authenticate users using AAA tacacs+ authentication with the ACS and an external Windows AD database. I have done this successfully. I also want to use the ACS for authenticating SSH management sessions into the ASA. I have setup a group in AD and on the ACS called VPNUSERS and NETADMINS. The problem is, I want the VPN users to ONLY be able to authenticate for VPN but not have access to logging into the ASA CLI or ASDM. The NETADMINS should be able to do both. The question I have is how do I setup the VPNUSER group in ACS to have access to connect to the ASA for VPN but not for the management console? It seems that if they can authenticate for vpn, they can also ssh the firewall which is what I want to prevent.

Try using Network Access Restrictions (NAR)where you can restrict the administrative access on per device or on NDG basis.
By default user accounts from external database such as AD in ACS will get authenticated through telnet on network device or a AAA client which can be restricted by enabling NAR in ACS.
In your case it should be VPNUSERS group in ACS.

  • ISE Profiling options for VPN clients

I'm trying to mull over what profiling options are available for VPN users.  I have an environment using ASA VPN in conjunction with ISE IPN to allow full posturing for VPN clients prior to allowing network access.  The use case here is we want to allow BYOD-type devices in for VPN (using software clients), but want to allow them to be exempted from ISE posturing requirements.  I don't see an easy way to distinguish these device types that cannot use the NAC agent from the O/Ses that can.  Since the mac address isn't sent to the headend, I can't use any of the traditional DHCP-based profiling criteria.  So the net effect is these devices are stuck in the "unknown" posture state and have very limited access.  Any way around this catch-22?  Incidentally DHCP profiling is on and working fine for the wireless users on the network, but doesn't help me here since I only know the machines by their mac address.

Chris I ran into the same issue. Netflow doesn't work and use packet captures to see if anything was worth while. The only option I see is filing a enhancement request to see if the asa can send the device platform over ot ise via radius (much like the device sensor feature on ios).
I also tried to use a span session and the catch with is that the asa doesn't assign the calling station id attribute to the tunnel ip, but the public ip the user is connecting from. So ise doesn't apply the user agent attributes to the current session.
I was able to find a way around this by modifying the messaging via root patch to have the users click a link instead of retrying their request when they hit the cpp portal as a mobile device.

  • 27" iMac doesn't have correct resolution for LG monitor

    Hi guys,
Hoping to find some answers here - I called Apple Care but they weren't very helpful and told me to call LG..but I really doubt the issue has anything to do with LG.
I have a 22" LG monitor that I used as a second monitor for my 24" imac. It worked great, no problems. I recently got a 27" imac and the display options don't give me the correct resolution for the second monitor (needs 1900x1080). So I can only use it at a totally blown up, out of proportion res. If I try to set it at any of the higher resolution options the monitor goes black and says "out of range".
To me, this is a problem with the iMac, not the monitor, as it doesn't seem to support the proper resolution. Am I screwed and just can't use this monitor with the new iMac?

ichbinesderelch wrote:have you tried using xrandr? xrandr -q shows available outputs, xrandr --output outputadapter(like VGA) --mode 1280x1024, as far as i can see, virtual monitor is set high enough that this should kinda work!
    Yes, I tried xrandr:
    $ xrandr --newmode "1280x1024" 65.0 1024 1048 1184 1344 768 771 777 806 -vsync -hsync
    $ xrandr --addmode VGA 1280x1024
$ xrandr --output VGA --mode 1280x1024
$ xrandr --output VGA --right-of LVDS
At first this didn't work at all, so I tried to mess with screen resolution applet and got output on the second monitor, but not at the desired resolution.
I tried running these commands again and got output on the second monitor, but at the wrong resolution. The strange part is that the resolution I want is listed by xrandr:
    $ xrandr -q
    Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 2304 x 800, maximum 2560 x 2048

  • Multi-resolution for multi-targets for handphones?

    Hi All,
I need to seek your advice on certain concerns regarding on mobile  development.
I am currently creating an app for my Samsung Galaxy S which has a  resolution for 480 X 800px and it looks great. The problem is if I am creating  for other resolutions like iPhone and the rest of the other mobile devices. I  understand on Flash CS5.5, there is a ‘scale content with stage’ within the  Dimensions, but it is not perfect. I believe I have to resize until I get it  right for the other phones. However, am I going to publish multiple apks for  different resolutions? Even when I publish as a full screen, I still see the  edges of my stage.
I have codes that affect certain resolution, for example I have a code  called hydrantY = 400px; if my screen height is  480px whilst hydrantY = 280px  if screen height is 320px. Am I going to have a set of classes linking to  different fla files and another set of classes for another group of fla  files?
Will the usage of the Projects panel help? I understand you use the  Projects panel if you happen to have different output like for swf (website  development), air (desktop development) and air for Android (for mobile  devices).  Will the usage of Projects panel be useful if I am developing for  different mobile device targets like (Samsung, HTC, Apple etc...having different  resolution)?
I know this sounds lengthy, but I would appreciate if you can help me as  this has been bugging me!

I'm using about 100 images in my application. Its not possible to use if condition for that 100 images. Is there any way to use multi-resolution method in XAML instead of code behind?

  • Conflict resolution for a table with LOB column ...

    Hi,
I was hoping for some guidance or advice on how to handle conflict resolution for a table with a LOB column.
Basically, I had intended to handle the conflict resolution using the MAXIMUM prebuilt update conflict handler. I also store
the 'update' transaction time in the same table and was planning to use this as the resolution column to resolve the conflict.
I see however these prebuilt conflict handlers do not support LOB columns. I assume therefore I need to code a customer handler
to do this for me. I'm not sure exactly what my custom handler needs to do though! Any guidance or links to similar examples would
    be very much appreciated.

    Hi,
I have been unable to make any progress on this issue. I have made use of prebuilt update handlers with no problems
before but I just don't know how to resolve these conflicts for LOB columns using custom handlers. I have some questions
which I hope make sense and are relevant:
1.Does an apply process detect update conflicts on LOB columns?
2.If I need to create a custom update/error handler to resolve this, should I create a prebuilt update handler for non-LOB columns
in the table and then a separate one for the LOB columns OR is it best just to code a single custom handler for ALL columns?
3.In my custom handler, I assume I will need to use the resolution column to decide whether or not to resolve the conflict in favour of the LCR
but how do I compare the new value in the LCR with that in the destination database? I mean how do I access the current value in the destination
    database from the custom handler?
4.Finally, if I need to resolve in favour of the LCR, do I need to call something specific for LOB related columns compared to non-LOB columns?
Any help with these would be very much appreciated or even if someone can direct me to documentation or other links that would be good too.
    Thanks again.

  • Acrobat Reader - Use Fixed Resolution for Snapshot tool images setting

    Hello,
We're currently running Acrobat Reader 9.x on our production Windows Vista SP2 Enterprise image and we're running Acrobat Reader X on our development Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit image.  I'm curious if there's a registry setting that sets the "Use fixed Resolution for Snapshop tool images" from 72dpi to 300 dpi.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rob

The per user settings are held in the following registry location:
    HKCU\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Selection
There is a hexadecimal value named iSnapshotResolution which contains the resolution for the Snapshot Tool. Also a parameter called bUseFixedSnapshotResolution which needs to be set to 1 to switch the feature on or 0 to disable the feature.
This is a per user setting but I believe Reader checks the per machine location
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader 10.0\Selection
Presumably you can put the same values into the HKLM section (it doesn't exist by default) so you will need to create the Selection key.
    Hope this makes sense.

  • Restricting bandwidth for video calls on 9971 devices

    Hi,
I've got a 9971 hanging of a relatively poor ADSL line and I need to restrict the bandwidth it uses when making a video. It works when it's configured to be in a location with high BW, but when I created a new Location and restricted the video BW to 400Kbps, I can't make video calls anymore. I then tried increments of 100Kbps until it began to work at 1000Kbps.
Am I missing something here? Can I set the video resolution for sending on 9971 devices.
    Any pointers would be appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi,
You should be setting the bandwidth parameter under REGION and not LOCATION. REGION will allow you to set the "Max Video Call Bit Rate" on a per call basis.
From the SRND document at https://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/7x/video.html#wp1046094, there is a very well written explanation on how the video bandwidth can be modified:
"The Video Bandwidth field accepts values in the range of 1 to 8128 kbps. However, to allow for compatibility with H.323 and H.320 videoconferencing devices, Cisco recommends that you always enter values for this field in increments of either 56 or 64 kbps. Therefore, valid values for this field include 112 kbps, 128 kbps, 224 kbps, 256 kbps, 336 kbps, 384 kbps, and so forth.
When the call speed requested by the endpoint exceeds the bandwidth value configured for the region, Unified CM automatically negotiates the call down to match the value allowed in the region setting. For instance, assume that an H.323 endpoint calls another H.323 endpoint at 768 kbps, but the region is set to allow a maximum of 384 kbps. The incoming H.225 setup request from the calling party would indicate that the call speed is 768 kbps, but Unified CM would change that value to 384 kbps in the outgoing H.225 setup message to the called party. Thus, the called endpoint would think that it was a 384-kbps call to begin with, and the call would be negotiated at that rate. The calling endpoint would show the requested bandwidth as 768 kbps, but the negotiated bandwidth would be 384 kbps.
However, if you set the Video Bandwidth to "None" in the region, Unified CM will either terminate the call (and send an H.225 Release Complete message back to the calling party) or will allow the call to pass as an audio-only call instead, depending on whether or not the called device has the Retry Video Call as Audio option enabled."
So to make a video call on a your poor ADSL line, you can update/create the Region to use a Video Bandwidth of 384kbps, the phone will be able to establish a Video call in VGA format at 15 fps, which is fairly good. At 625kbps, you are looking at 30fps. The change will affect any new calls and the configuration is not done on the handset and not just related to 9971 phones.
Please rate if you find this useful.
