Issue - Hiding summary field labels in cross tab.

Hi,
I have a cross tab displaying two summarised value(say revenue and qty sold) and an embedded summary based on two dimension  (say City and year).
I have a requirement to hide a particular city (Say Dallas)  in my cross tab.  But I am using the summarised value pertaining to Dallas in my embeded summary calculation.  So I cannot use the specified order in the group option to discard it.
If I use the suppress option.  I am able to suppress all the values except the summarised fields label.  I used the following formula to suppress it.
Gridlabelat(City,currentrowindex)= "Dallas" then true else false
Gridlabelat function is not working for label since it text.  How to hide the label in my case.  Please guide me.
Thanks and Regards,
Subbu S.

Hi,
As I said earlier the labels are considered as Text and not as fields.  So its not allowing me to use any of the grid functions.
Thanks and Regards,
Subbu S.

  • Help on conditionally Formatting Field in a Cross Tab

    Hi all,
    I like to conditionally format a number field in a cross tab, ie. on a certain column the number should show 2 decimal places, otherwise no decimal places.  I have tried a formula in the Decimals of the Format Field, If {Command.COL_TITLE}= "G"
    Then
    2
    else
    0.
    Column G is the one that is to display the number in 2 decimal places.  The formula runs, but it never  {Command.COL_TITLE}= "G" is never true, ever.  COL_TITLE is the columns of the Cross Tab.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks
    Austin

    Austin,
    If you are trying to format a column then try using the GridRowColumn function.
    In the Customize Style tab highlight the column field and check what the alias for formula is. Then format the decimal places for the summarized field with a formula similar to the following;
    If  GridRowColumn("Alias for formula value") = "G" then 2 else 0

  • How to refernce the field in the cross-tab report

    Hello,
    I'm trying to refer to the field in the cross-tab report using GridRowColumnValue function.
    The field name in formulas is DevelopmentTracking_SELECT.Completed, so I'm trying to refer like this:
    GridRowColumnValue("DevelopmentTracking_SELECT.Completed")
    I'm getting:
    "This is not the name of a grid group for the field being formatted."
    I've tried different way - gave the name of the field, for instance, or used the name form the Cross-tab expert - Max of DevelopmentTracking_SELECT.Completed, or simply use "Completed" - nothing worked.
    I see the possible cause for it. DevelopmentTracking_SELECT.Completed is not a row or column name, in the Cross-tab expert this is a Summarized field. How to reference the field like this correctly?
    Thank you,
    Peter

    Oh I thought it is
    ROW: Product Name
    COLUMN:  Anticipated Date, Completed
    SUMMARIZED FIELDS: Product Stage
    Anyhow try to move the Completed field above the Anticipated Date in SUMMARIZED FIELDS by clicking up arrow.
    Now right click on the field Completed go to format field-->write the suppress condition like this
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    boolenavar i;
    i:=CurrentFieldValue;
    false
    Now right click on the Anticipated Date field and go to font and write the condition for color like this
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    boolenavar i;
    If CurrentFieldValue >= CurrentDate Then
    crGreen
    Else If CurrentFieldValue < CurrentDate And i=False Then
    crRed
    Else
    crBlack
    I hope this helps!

    Hi
    You can change the display string by right click on the row ->Format field->Common ->Display string.
    Here you can define conditions as per your requirement to display the values you require.
    Also you can write a formula field with all the specifications and use that in row in your cross tab.
    Hope this helps!!

  • How to allocate a text value to a null field in a cross tab

    Hi there,
    I'm using Crystal 2008 and have created a report that retrieves support tickets assigned by team within a specific date field. I've added a cross tab that is retrieving the data correctly. However, if the team field is blank, the cross tab comes up with a blank field - something similar to :
    Team name       # Tickets Assigned
    Team 1  -
    >  10
    Team 2  -
    >  20
    >  15
    Team 3  -
    >  12
    Team 4   -
    > 18
    I would like to be able to have it returned <Unassigned> instead of just white space. Any suggestions on where to begin? I am a beginner at this and would appreciate any help at all.

    instead of using just the value create a formula that will deal with nulls.
    something along the lines of:
    if isnull()
    then "<Unassigned>"
    else ()
    hope that helps

  • XML Output - Issue with multiple field labels.

    Dear Users,
    I am trying to create an XML sheet as output for my program, and am struck at a point where I don't need field labels appearing on the XML output.
    The code looks as below:
          l_element_order = l_document->create_simple_element(
                name = 'Order'
                parent = l_element_ordertype ).
          l_value = it_order-aufnr.
          l_rc = l_element_order->set_attribute( name = 'AUFNR' value = l_value ).
    On my output though, both the field labels 'Order' and 'AUFNR' appear side by side. I would ideally only want the 'Order' label to appear.
    Is there a method through which I can suppress the labels?!
    I am using the following classes as a part of the code:
    DATA: l_ostream         TYPE REF TO if_ixml_ostream,
          l_ixml            TYPE REF TO if_ixml,
          l_streamfactory   TYPE REF TO if_ixml_stream_factory,
          l_renderer        TYPE REF TO if_ixml_renderer,
          l_document        TYPE REF TO if_ixml_document,
          l_value           TYPE string.
    Would be much appreciated if someone could help me with this please. Thanks!

  • Conditionally Hiding Summary Fields

    <p>Hello.</p><p>I am trying to recreate a report originally written in Foxfire to Crystal Reports. The data is coming from two linked tables, a "header" table and a "details" table. For each account from the "header" table, there may be one or more "detail" lines. I want to include a summary subtotal for each of three detail fields which represent monetary values, but only in those cases where an account has more than one detail line. The data is grouped by account number.</p><p>Account number and name are displayed in a group header, and only the corresponding detail data is in the Detail section of the report.</p><p>It seems like I saw this explained somewhere, but I cannot remember where at the moment. Any assistance is appreciated.</p>

    <p>So you want to keep the Group Header (GH) and the Details (D), but suppress the Group Footer (GF) if the count of details records is 1...</p><p>Open the section expert (right click on the grey sections to the left of the canvas) - make sure you have the GF highlighted.</p><p>There is an option named "Suppress" - to the right of that is a formula box [X+2].  Click on that and use a conditional formula for the suppresion.</p><p>Formula:</p><p>if Count({Customer.Customer ID}, {Customer.Customer Name}) = 1 </p><p>then false else true </p><p> </p><p>Note: you will need to replace {Customer.Customer ID} for some field in your details section and {Customer.Customer Name} in the formula with appropriate fields from your report. </p>

  • Cross-tab report: need to SUM field and present as HH:MM:SS format

    I am creating a cross-tab report and several of the selected data fields I need to summarize are time-based fields, which are stored as seconds in the database.  When I create a standard report, the formula to convert the seconds to HH:MM:SS and SUM works just fine, but when I try to bring that formula field into the cross-tab report, it does a COUNT on it rather than a SUM.
    How can I get it to SUM that data and present it in an HH:MM:SS format in the cross-tab report?
    Here is the formula I'm using in the Standard Report to convert from seconds to HH:MM:SS and SUM the data.
    totext(abs((Sum ({wagent.acwtime})) / 3600),"00") & ":" &
    totext(abs(remainder((Sum ({wagent.acwtime})),3600) / 60),"00") & ":" &
    totext(abs(remainder(remainder((Sum ({wagent.acwtime})),3600),60)),"00");

    In the cross tab, do the sum on {wagent.acwtime}.  In the cross tab on the page, right click on the field for the sum, select Format, press the X-2 next to Display String, and enter your three line formula, replacing {wagent.acwtime} with CurrentFieldValue.

  • Suppressing levels in cross tab.

    Hello All,
    I have a project requirenment for one of the client and currently using CR 2008 for creating dynamic reports based on a finance database for profitabilty Analysis. I have been using lot of Web-Elements functionality in my crystal application and its going good to an extent, the only issue i have been experiencing is the dynamic change of the cross tab data based on prompts.
    Its a 4 level application where in users are prompted to select a specific level outta the 4 levels, they can select either few or all. Now, the issue is, in my cross tab i have mentioned all the 4 levels in my row field and the data is displayed according to the users selection through prompts, it works fine. But however if user does not select level 3 or 4 or any one of them then the specific cross tab row is displayed empty. I have tried selecting the option suppress empty rows under customize tab but that doesnt seem to work.
    I want only those levels to be displayed which are selected by users and suppress the rest, the empty rows in cross tab looks kinda odd to see. I am unable to figure out the formula string for the same.
    Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

    Hi
    Cross tab is nothing but a tabular representation of data.
    It displays zero values only when there is no data for the combination of corresponding row and column.
    We can not suppress this however we can display some string like "No data for this" or something else as per requirement.
    For this, do the below:
    - Right click on the summary value field on the cross tab -> Format Field.
    - Under Common Tab, click on X-2 for Display string. This would open the formula editor.
    - Put the below formula there:
    if IsNull(summary database field) then "No data for here"
         else "" & currentfieldvalue;
    You can change the display string as per requirement.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Drill down of manual cross tab reports with Multi variable subreports

    I tried to make a subreport by setting the hyperlink on the group sum of a manual crosstab (http://www.tek-tips.com/faqs.cfm?fid=1219) by setting Hyperlink to another report object.
    The documentation said I should copy and paste the name of the report object in the sub report over into the field in the primary report.  As I don' t really know what a report object is this failed.  Further I found some code in a sample report to deal with subreports that have multiple parameters.  The code was unbelievable; it couldn't be right.  So, how do I link my subreports to my reports by passing two parameters to the subreports that represent the row and column label of a given sum.
    Further what are the fields in the hyperlink another report object from for:
    Select from: //do they want a query here?
    Report title: //The don't let you type in this
    Object Name: //This seems elective
    Data Context:// No clue on this either
    Thanks for any help you can provide
    p.s. This forum doesn't seem to use traditional bit code

    Thanks for the reply.  I looked through those samples and other samples.  The two cross tab samples I could find were CtossTab and Inventory CrossTab.  Neither has a hyperlink to a sub report and I believe those were actual cross tabs, not manual crosstabs.  When I scoured the web for an answer, all I could find was what was linked.  This is going 20 pages deep on google.
    Crystal crosstabs are 98% better than the excel power pivot or pivot table.  However, with Excel, you can drill down to the details automatically.  With crosstabs you can't.  I was hoping to replicate this by making each summary in the manual cross tab a hyperlink to a sub report that filters the details based on the row and column just as excel does.  There is no sample for this.
    Oh yes, I'm using CR XI

  • Hyperlink from summary field in crosstab??

    I want to enable a hyperlink on a summary field in a crosstab so that clicking on it will produce a subreport of the detailed items that are included in the count displayed in the summary field.
    Keeping my username in mind ;-> I have tried everything I could think of and haven't found the magic incantation yet. I was expecting to be able to select a drill down, but that radio button is greyed out for the field I want to hyperlink from. I've tried a multitude of sane and insane things within all of the hyperlink tabs I could find, but no success.
    I've read as much of the documentation as I could find, both from the CD and online, and I'm stumped.
    Has anyone done this, and if so, could you please offer some tips??
    Thanks!!!!

    One thought I have is to right-click on the field in the cross-tab and select "Format Object".  I'm using CR for VS2005 and I have a Hyperlink tab that allows me to configure a hyperlink.  Using this hyperlink, you could navitage to another webform with another report to display the details for that summary.  Just a suggestion!

  • Summarizing Cross Tab totals as Average

  • Need a multi-level control break report displaying a cross-tab for each ...

    I need a multi-level control break report that displays a cross-tab report for each
    detail and subtotal. The individual cross-tabs are no problem. There are two issues:
    1) How to get many cross-tabs (thousands) to appear in one report.
    2) How to provide cross-tabs in-line on the multi-level subtotal lines.
    Here is a concrete example.
    Suppose the data base contains this table:
    road (
    id_number number, -- this is an artificial PK
    city varchar2,
    county varchar2,
    state varchar2,
    length number,
    owner varchar2, -- roads may be owned by cities, counties, states, and others
    surface_type varchar2 -- the surface type may be gravel, asphalt, concrete, and others
    The table is populated with several million records that include every
    length of road in a US city.
    It is OK to suppose that all the attributes in all the records are not null.
    Without the PK, there would be millions of duplicates,
    which should all contribute to the summed lengths.
    The report I need is like a control break report with a detail line for each
    city together with subtotals for each county and state and
    a grand total for the US at the end.
    However, each detail and total line needs to be a cross-tab report
    summing the length over the city, county, state or US
    (whichever is called for at that location)
    for each combination of owner and surface_type.
    so the report would have the following structure:
    a city cross-tab for the first city in county 1/state 1
    a city cross tab for the last city in county 1/state 1
    a cross-tab for count 1
    a city cross tab for the first city in county 2/state 1
    a city cross tab for the last city in county 2/state 1
    a cross tab for state 1
    a cross-tab for the US
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
    This problem comes up because my client's legacy system,
    which is being replaced,
    already has such a report (in COBOL).
    Thanks!!!
    Steve
    PS, I know one ugly way to do it. Namely, make a variable for each
    possible combination of owner and surface. Then code an ordinary control
    break report. However, I am looking for something better.

    Hi Jenna_Fire,
    According to your description, you have a matrix contains total for each group on each level. Now your requirement is, when you click on any number (data field or total), it will go to the detail report which returns all the detail information of the people
    within the group scope. For example, if you click on the total of Active users in United States, it will return the detail information of Active users in New York and Texas. Right?
    In this scenario, we should set the parameter (@Country, @State, @City) allow multiple values in both main and detail report. And in Default Value (@Country, @State, @City), query out all distinct values. In the textbox which contains
    those total values, when set use these parameters to run the report, we only need to pass the parameters of parent groups. For example, if we click on the total of Active users in New York, we only need to pass Country, State, Status to detail report, and
    in the detail report, the City parameter will use all distinct values (Default Values) because we don't pass the City parameter. We have tested this case with sample data in our local environment. Here are steps and screenshots for your reference:
    1. Create parameter Country, State, City and Status in both main report and detail report. Set both Available Value and Default Value get values from query (Create a dataset for each parameter, use "select distinct [column] from [table]" as query). Set allow
    multiple values for parameter Country, State and City in both reports.
    2. In corresponding textbox, pass appropriate parameters in go to report Action.
    4. Filter data in detail report (in where clause or using filters).
    5. Save and preview. It looks like below:

  • Conditional highlighting on cross-tabs

    Does anyone know if it is possible to conditionally highlight a field in cross-tab based on another field in the table? The field we&#39;re using to condition is not in the cross-tab, nor do we want it to be in the cross-tab. We need to highlight a report field based on another field from each record reported. Highlight expert won&#39;t let you highlight the field unless the field is in the cross-tab.

    yes it is possible
    Select the field from Cross Tab which you want to Highlight Right Click Select the Format Field
    Select the Font TabÂ
    Select the formula button next to color
    Then enter the formula
    IF field not in cross tab = somevalue then
    mention the Color Code which you want....
