Issue in data retrieval when range is specified..

hi,
In my selection screen I set the value for kunnr-low as 100 and kunnr-high as 200. i just have one record in my custom table but that has kunnr set as 1300. so when these values are entered, no data must be retrieved, but that record with kunnr 1300 is being retrieved..here is my code..
APPEND i_dyn_fields.
  MOVE: 'S_KUNNR-LOW' TO i_dyn_fields-fieldname.
  APPEND i_dyn_fields.
  MOVE: 'S_KUNNR-HIGH' TO i_dyn_fields-fieldname.
  APPEND i_dyn_fields.
CALL FUNCTION 'DYNP_VALUES_READ'
read table i_dyn_fields index 3.
    if not i_dyn_fields-FIELDVALUE is initial.
      wa_KUNNR-low = i_dyn_fields-FIELDVALUE.
      wa_KUNNR-sign = 'I'.
      wa_KUNNR-option = 'EQ'.
      append wa_KUNNR to s_KUNNR.
      clear wa_KUNNR.
    ENDIF.
    read table i_dyn_fields index 4.
    if not i_dyn_fields-FIELDVALUE is initial.
      wa_KUNNR-HIGH = i_dyn_fields-FIELDVALUE.
      wa_KUNNR-sign = 'I'.
      wa_KUNNR-option = 'BT'.
      append wa_KUNNR to s_KUNNR.
      clear wa_KUNNR.
    ENDIF.
something is wrong in the wa_kunnr-option !!  i tried setting it to BT for kunnr-low, then no values where retrieved, but then it will fail when a single value is entered !!
how to deal with this ??
thanks

You must make sure that the customer numbers are in the internal format, which means it needs to have leading zeros. You can use the function module CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT to convert from external format, to internal format.
read table i_dyn_fields index 3.
if not i_dyn_fields-FIELDVALUE is initial.
wa_KUNNR-low = i_dyn_fields-FIELDVALUE.
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT'
  EXPORTING
    input         = wa_KUNNR-low
  IMPORTING
    OUTPUT        = wa_KUNNR-low.
wa_KUNNR-sign = 'I'.
wa_KUNNR-option = 'EQ'.
append wa_KUNNR to s_KUNNR.
clear wa_KUNNR.
ENDIF.
read table i_dyn_fields index 4.
if not i_dyn_fields-FIELDVALUE is initial.
wa_KUNNR-HIGH = i_dyn_fields-FIELDVALUE.
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT'
  EXPORTING
    input         = wa_KUNNR-HIGH
  IMPORTING
    OUTPUT        = wa_KUNNR-HIGH.
wa_KUNNR-sign = 'I'.
wa_KUNNR-option = 'BT'.
append wa_KUNNR to s_KUNNR.
clear wa_KUNNR.
ENDIF.

  • Issue with date formula when running a report on the 1st day of the month

    We have a formula that compares last month data against last year last month, the report runs on the 1st of every month although the report errors when it tries to run in January being the first month of the new year it tries to look for a month begining with Zero instead of looking back at decemeber which would be 12.
    Does anyone any solutions for this issue?
    Thanks,
    Chris
    Example of some formula's we have tried but none seem to work.
    if {@MonthName} = "December" then year({CDCCHD.CDOPDT}) in year(currentdate)-1 to year(currentdate)-2 else year({CDCCHD.CDOPDT}) in year(currentdate)
    OR
    (if {@Last Full Month Name}= "December" then year({CDCCHD.CDOPDT})= year(currentdate)-2 or
    {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in lastyearytd else {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in lastyearytd or
    {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in yeartodate)
    OR
    ({CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in dateserial(year(currentdate)-1,month(currentdate),01)-1 to dateserial(year(currentdate)-1,month(currentdate)-1,01) or
    {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in lastfullmonth)
    OR
    if {@monthname} = "December" then {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in dateadd("m", -28, (currentdate)) to (currentdate)-14 else {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in dateadd("m", -14, (currentdate)) to (currentdate)

    Chris,
    Give these formulas a try...
    Beg of Last Month
    DateAdd("m", DateDiff("m",#1/1/1900#, CurrentDate) - 1, #1/1/1900#)
    End of Last Month
    DateAdd("m", DateDiff("m",#1/1/1900#, CurrentDate), #1/1/1900#)
    Beg December of Last Year
    IF DatePart("m",CurrentDate) = 1
    THEN DateSerial(DatePart("yyyy",CurrentDate) -2, 12,1)
    ELSE DateSerial(DatePart("yyyy",CurrentDate) -1, 12,1)
    End December of Last Year
    IF DatePart("m",CurrentDate) = 1
    THEN DateSerial(DatePart("yyyy",CurrentDate) -1, 1,1)
    ELSE DateSerial(DatePart("yyyy",CurrentDate), 1,1)
    Note that the "End" formulas produce a value that shows midnight of the following day that you would normally expect to see... For example, if you are expecting to see 12/31/2009, it will show 1-1-2010.
    The reason is that the formulas come out to be midnight of the day shown... So a range of 12/1/2009 - 1/1/2010 will include 12/31/2009's data but none of 1/1/2010... (12/1/2009 - 12/31/2009 would actually cut off 12/31/2009).
    If for some reason your data is stored w/o time values then an adjustment would need to be mande.
    HTH,
    Jason

  • BPC Office Client : No data retrieval when using static dimensions

    Hello,
    We have used static dimensions to build reports / input schedules, but the data range remains empty when refreshing the workbook after the column - and row key ranges have been filled. There is definitely data in the application for the combination of the current view members and range members chosen. I have put 3 dimensions in the row key range and 4 dimensions in the column key range.
    What are the common solutions for this problem ? I don't receive any errors while refreshing the workbook.

    Have you checked security member access profiles to know that the user has access to that slice of data?
    You might also double-check your data in BW by running the Shared Query Engine test program UJQ_SQE_TEST from transaction SA38 or SE38.  Just select your AppSet and Application, along with matching in the filters the static members you've set in your report.
    If you still have issue, try to replicate the issue with a delivered template report and confirm no data is shown.
    Otherwise, please create a customer [message|http://service.sap.com/message] in the SAP Service Marketplace and report your issue as a potential bug. To expedite a solution it would be helpful if you detail the steps exactly for the Support team to recreate, verify and troubleshoot the problem.

  • Issue with Date Conversion when loading XML File into Oracle 10g Database

    Hello all,
    I have the interface shown in the screenshot below. In it, amongst other actions, I'm mapping an XML file element representing a date to an Oracle table column defined as DATE. The source and target columns are highlighted in the screenshot.
    !http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/1565/odiscr275.jpg!
    When I execute the interface, I get the following error message:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException at java.sql.Date.valueOf(Date.java:103)
    I'm assuming this refers to the date conversion!
    I've already tried replacing SRC_TRADES.DEAL_DATE with TO_DATE( SRC_TRADES.DEAL_DATE, 'DD/MM/YYYY' ) in the Implementation tab. This function was not recognised when I executed the interface, so it didn't work! The date value in the XML file is in DD/MM/YYYY format.
    I'm guessing that Oracle SQL Date functions don't work in the Implementation tab. Please could somebody let me know:
    1. Which Date Conversion function I could use instead?
    2. Where I can find a reference for the methods/functions I can use in the Implementation tab (if such a reference exists)?
    Cheers.
    James

    Hi.
    Try to change the execution area to staging area. After You change it, write in the mapping box just SRC_TRADERS.DEAL_DATE. When You use TO_DATE, the source field typu should be varchar2, not date (as it is in your source datastore)

  • Weird issue: Partial data inserted when reading from Global temporary table

    I have a complex sql query that fetches 88k records. This query uses a global temporary table which is the replica of one of our permanent tables. When I do Create table..select... using this query it inserts only fewer records (66k or lesser). But when I make the query point to the permanent table it inserts all 88k records.
    1. I tried running the select query separately using temp and perm table. Both retrieves 88k records.
    2. From debugging I found that this problem occurred when we were trying to perform a left outer join on an inline view.
    However this problem got resolved when I used the /*+ FIRST_ROWS */ hint.
    From my limited oracle knowledge I assume that it is the problem with the query and how it is processed in the memory.
    Can someone clarify what is happening behind the scenes and if there is a better solution?
    Thanks

  • Retrieving a range of data in office 2007

    Hi All,
    My company recently upgraded to Office 2007. We are using Hyperion 9.3. A few interactive users are facing this issue.
    The issue seems to be with the 'Retrieving a range of data'.
    In a worksheet the user is selecting a range of cells to restrict the data retrieval to the selected range. The unselected area of the sheet contains data not formatted to retrieval dissapears(hard coded number and the formula).
    Under Options tried checking 'Display Unknown members' and 'Retain formula on retrieval'. Users wants to preserve hard coded numbers outside the retrieval area.
    Your help is very much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jelan

    Use the array subset in the array pallete. put your smallest number in the index and then subtract your smaller number from the bigger number and put this result in as the length input. The output will be an array starting with the smaller number and ending with your bigger number.

  • IR webclient: error when uncompressing data retrieved: *Data Error*!

    A small (?) number of IR webclient 931 installations we notice the next error when processing: " error when uncompressing data retrieved: *Data Error*! " It does not seem to be user or permission/provision related.
    Does anyone have an idea how to solve it. Reinstalling the IR webclient does not solve it.

    Hi there, I got to the point where I found the cause, but now I still need to solve it. perhaps anyone can give me a hint.
    931 bqy's are stored on server as zip files. (although they are renamed as *.1) On 832 they were stored as bqy files (although they were renamed to *.1 too).
    The clients which had the error message tried to open their 931 documents with the 832 plugin. Which does not have the capebility to uncompress the .1 file. In that perspective is the error message very obvious.
    We need to run both 832 intelligence plugin and the 931 webclient on the same client.
    How can we force that the corrcet version is used for openeing the docs?

    After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
    The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
    I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • Issue with Date Format

    Hi All,
    I m facing an issue with Date format in the prompt. I have used date presentation variables in my column formula as shown below:
    FILTER("SKU Order Details"."Fulfilled Quantity" USING Time."Calendar Date" <= DATE '@{todate}{2900-01-01}')
    The report returns data when I don't select any date range for start & end date prompts on the page. But when I select the start & end date values in the prompt, I m getting the following error:
    Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P:OI2DL65P

    I included the following formulas for start & end date prompts:
    Start Date prompt: case when 1=2 then License."Ips Creation Date" else cast ('1.1.1900' as date) end
    End Date prompt: case when 1=2 then License."Ips Creation Date" else cast ('1.1.2900' as date) end
    Can you please help me resolve the issue.
    Thanks,

    Hi Nico,
    I tried putting the format that you mentioned, I m getting an error message.
    My prompts have the following formula :
    Start: case when 1=2 then License."Creation Date" else cast('1.1.1900' as DATE) end
    End: case when 1=2 then Time."Calendar Date" else cast('1.1.2900' as DATE) end
    My column formula has the following syntax:
    FILTER("SKU Order Details"."Fulfilled Quantity" USING Time."Calendar Date" between DATE '@{start}{1900-01-01}' AND DATE '@{end}{2999-01-01}')
    Error Message:

    Can you please let me know if something needs to be changed.

  • Query Error Information: Result set is too large; data retrieval ......

    Hi Experts,
    I got one problem with my query information. when Im executing my report and drill my info in my navigation panel, Instead of a table with values the message "Result set is too large; data retrieval restricted by configuration" appears. I already applied "Note 1127156 - Safety belt: Result set is too large". I imported Support Package 13 for SAP NetWeaver 7. 0 BI Java (BIIBC13_0.SCA / BIBASES13_0.SCA / BIWEBAPP13_0.SCA) and executed the program SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN (in transaction SE38), with the object and the value like Note 1127156 says... but the problem still appears....
    what Should I be missing ??????  How can I fix this issue ????
    Thank you very much for helping me out..... (Any help would be rewarded)

    You may ask your basis guy to increase ESM buffer (rsdb/esm/buffersize_kb). Did you check the systems memory?
    Did you try to check the error dump using ST22 - Runtime error analysis?

    Thanks for your response….
    This is enhancement project and some one develops long back.
    Regarding point (b) You should be using the java.net.URLEncoder to encode URL parameters, not a base64 encoder.
    DocumentSummarizerClient.java I am using base64
    Ex:
    // String encoded =new String (summaryInputData.getBytes("ISO-8859-1"),"UTF-8");
                        String encoded=Base64Utils.base64Encode(summaryInputData.getBytes());
                   // encoded =new String (summaryInputData.getBytes("ISO-8859-1"),"UTF-8");
                        String parameters= "base64String="+encoded+"&noOfWordsOrPercentage="+noOfWordsOrPercentage;
                        summarizedData= postRequest(parameters,summarizerURL);
                        String slength= "<string xmlns=\"http://tempuri.org/\">";
                        if(summarizedData.contains("</string>")){
                        summarizedData= summarizedData.substring(summarizedData.indexOf(slength)+slength.length(),summarizedData.indexOf("</string>"));
                        summarizedData = replaceVal(summarizedData);
                        //System.out.println("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\"?><![CDATA["+summarizedData+"]]>");
                        System.out.println("Summarized data "+summarizedData);
                        if(summarizedData.contains("Please enter the percentage")){
                             summarizedData="Data given cannot be summarized further";
    Above specific please I need to modify to resolve above issue.
    Could you please suggest me what changes I need to do.
    Waiting for positive response.

  • Should I use a data retrieval service or software to recover data ?

    Please pardon the length of this post.
    Here's the setup for our office:
    Computer 1:
    10.4.8 OS X
    1 GHZ PowerPC G4: silver grey tower, grey apple
    1MB L3 Cache
    256 MB DDR SDRAM
    Computer 2:
    10.4.8 OS X
    Dual 450 MHZ PowerPC G4: blue grey tower, blue apple
    256 MB SDRAM
    Computer 3:
    10.4.8 OS X
    1 GHZ PowerPC G4 IMac Flat Screen:
    256 MB DDR SDRAM
    I have 2 LaCie Big Disk d2 Extremes daisy chained and connected to the IMac. We use the first to store all of our data to keep our local disks free. The second d2 is the backup to the first. The other 2 computers connect to the d2's via an ethernet hub. The d2's are each partitioned into 4 compartments.
    A couple of days ago I started the system up when I got in in the morning, and the main d2 would not open. I ran disk utility, but it said that the drive was damaged beyond it's ability to repair. I ran DiskWarrior, and it gave me this message:
    "The directory of disk 'G4' cannot be rebuilt. The disk was not modified. The original directory is too severely damaged. It appears another disk utility has erased critical directory information. (3004, 2176)."
    I contacted Disk Warrior tech support and after a series of exchanges that had me send him dated extracted from the terminal function, he said this:
    "It appears that the concatenated RAID inside your LaCie
    drive has failed (your 500GB drive is actually 2 250GB
    hard drives). That is why we only saw 2 partitions
    on "disk3". A possible cause could be a failed bridge
    in the case.
    You may be looking at sending this drive to a data recovery service.
    However, it is possible that we may be able to recover data
    from the partitions that we CAN see. What we would be doing would cause no damage to your data
    unless the hard drives were having a mechanical failure (ie, the
    head crashed and was contacting the platters, similar to scratching
    a record). But from what I've seen, I don't feel that is the case.
    I believe the piece of hardware that 'bridges' the two drives to
    make them act as one has failed. that's why we can only see data
    about 1 of the 2 drives in the case.
    We would only be attempting to gather data off the drive. Since
    data recovery services sometimes charge for amount of data retrieved,
    it's up to you how you want to proceed."
    Most of the data from the past 5 years for our business stands at being lost. Only some of it had been properly backed up on the second drive, due to some back up software issues. I want to do whatever I can to retrieve all of, or at least some of the data. From what the Alsoft technician said, do you think that the data recovery software available to the consumer is going to be robust enough to retrieve at least the data from the one disk in the drive that is recognizable (there are 2 250gig disks in the d2X. Only one is responding at all). If so, do these Softwares further damage the disks? Or should I just send the drive to a data recovery service?
    I'd like to try to extract some of it myself via over the counter retrieval software, but I don't know whether to trust these programs?
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    My 2 cents:
    I have used FileSalvage
    http://www.subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/index.php?mainpage=product_info&productsid=1
    to recover files from damaged disks. It works as advertised, within limits. Some files may be too damaged to recover. More importantly yo get to scan the disk before actually recovering, and it will give you a list of what it thinks it can recover.
    My experience was that it recovered approx 85% of the data.
    YMMV but they do have a trial.

  • Data Retrieval Speed in Oracle Spatial vs. ESRI ArcSDE

    I would appreciate any opinions regarding data retrieval
    performance between Oracle Spatial and ESRI ArcSDE. Would an end-
    user (using ESRI software) experience significant differences in
    data retrieval speed depending on how the data were stored in
    Oracle (MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY verses ESRI Binary/Blob formats).
    Knowing that the ESRI binary formats are tailored to their
    software front-end apps (ArcGIS, ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and
    ArcInfo), wouldn't this be a "non-issue" until the spatial
    dataset gets "large", and even then, wouldn't performance be
    (almost) equal if the spatial indexes were created properly?
    Thanks for your inputs,
    Bruce

    John,
    You can't do that type of query in sql from sql*plus using
    SDEBINARY. HOwever, you can perform spatial queries in ArcMap
    if you are using SDEBINARY.
    You can use the query builder to perform point-in-polygon type
    queries.
    Hope that helps.
    For my two cents, I think SDO_GEOMETRY gives you a more robust
    database to work with, because you have the added power of
    Oracle Spatial functions. If you are using SDEBINARY you are
    limited to only what you can do thru ArcGIS.
    If you are concerned more about performance than accessibility,
    especially with a large number of users, then SDEBINARY might
    be the better choice.
    I love Oracle Spatial and am hoping that the performance issue
    will not be a serious one when we start putting ArcIMS developed
    apps into production.
