Issue in receiving custom header in response SOAP message

Hi,
I have created a simple BPEL process with custom headers in request and response message.
I tried to send SOAP message through SOAPUI tool. Service is getting instantiated, able to access the request header and able to send response message. But only body is send as response message. Header is not sent in the response message.
Also tried to invoke the above service through another BPEL process. I could able to send the header through request but not able to receive the header in response message.
Pls. throw some light on this..
Regards
Jude.

Hi,
Input request is working as you mentioned but the output custom headers are not working. When I use bpelx:outputHeaderVariable="varOutManifest" I am getting exception while running the interface. So I used bpelx:outputHeaderVariables="varOutManifest" but I am not getting back the custom header from the partner service to the variable.
Any hint.
receive:
bpelx:headerVariable="varManifest varSecurity"
reply:
bpelx:inputHeaderVariable="varOutManifest"
Invoke:
bpelx:outputHeaderVariables="varOutManifest"
bpelx:inputHeaderVariable="varManifest varSecurity"
Is anything wrong?
I am on 10.1.3.3.1 MLR # 14. I am getting following exception when I use bpelx:outputHeaderVariable.

  • Header missing in SOAP message header (SAP XI Extension)

    Hi Experts,
    We are implementing interface MasterDataUpdateConfirmation_Out between 2 SAP ERP systems. The middleware is SAP PI.
    SAP PI team requested a change in this interface Stack - Replace Stack ABAP by Stack Java. The changes were made.
    However, now we get an error in the interface in the SAP ERP sender system, but the message arrives to SAP PI where is processed without errors and also arrives to SAP ERP receive system and the message is also processes without errors.
    The error we have in XML message in SAP ERP sender system is:
    XML element {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Header missing in
    SOAP message header (SAP XI Extension)
    Exception of class CX_XMS_SYSERR_PARSER
    Can anyone please help us? We have no ideia what to do.
    Thanks in advance,
    RS

    Hi again,
    I don't know if it is important, but the communication is asynchronous and the sender system is SAP ECC 6.0.
    Thanks!

  • Http Header for a SOAP message using SAAJ.

    Hello java community,
    I need to set the 'SOAPAction' field in the HTTP Header of a soap message. I am using SAAJ to build the message.
    Does anyone know how to do this?
    Help is greatly appreciated as always.

    You have to put a Handler in front of your WebService to intercept it.

  • Receive custom header variables using javamail

    Hi,
    I am setting some custom variable in header like "ABC" and the value as "123" and sending it to some invalid recipient. The mail is bounced back to the sender. By using my outlook client I am able to see the above variable.
    I have written a java program to read the headers, but it is not coming. Kindly help me to receive custom headers. If you have any code sample that would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Have you looked at the com.sun.mail.dsn package in JavaMail 1.4?

  • Decrypt the response SOAP message

    Hi Everybody !!!
    Another doubt concerning SOAP Security. I have configured SOAP Receiver adapter and Receiver Agreement for encrypting the (request) message that is sent to a Web Service. What about the response message? There's no place in the Receiver Agreement where I can choose the private key to use to decrypt the encrypted response message.
    Julio

    Hi Julio,
    If you are using communication channel security, then whole channel is encrypted .
    The same connection is live until you get back the response.
    Response is not coming on different channel. It is same. The whole communication is encrypted on that HTTP channel.
    But if you are calling some other Web Service from XI, then you have to import the  key of that service provider.( and it is possible only if the service provider is providing encryption )
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Piyush

  • How to access SOAP header without using SOAP message handler

    I have a requirement to retrieve SOAP header information within each web services operation. So I can't use SOAP message handler. Is there any way to do that? BTW, I am not using workshop.
    Thanks.

    Howeve how can I put data into soap header in UDF? DynamicConfiguration won't work for soap header, right?
    Which data do you want ot put into the Header section.
    ASMA or Dynamic Configuration is used to read/ put the details from/ into the header elements.....
    Refer: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/0a7d1be4e622f3e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
    From the help section:
    This information is not located in the payload of the message, but in additional message header fields.

  • ABAP runtime error in sxmb_moni when SOAP message has header with some tags

    Hi!!!
    I have a problem with sxmb_moni transaction.
    If I double-click on a successfully processed
    message, then this monitor can't show me
    the message details but fails with the following error:
    <COPY_AND_PASTE_FROM_SCREEN>
    Runtime errors         OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO
    Exception              CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL
    Occurred on     02.03.2005 at 16:44:21
    Access with 'ZERO' object reference not possible.
    What happened?
    Error in ABAP application program.
    The current ABAP program "CL_XMS_PROP_STRING============CP " had to be
    terminated because one of the
    statements could not be executed.
    This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
    </COPY_AND_PASTE_FROM_SCREEN>
    This situation takes place only when I want
    to look at a SOAP message which was sent to XI
    from .Net platform or was sent to
    .Net platform from XI (via SOAP adapter).
    In all other cases sxmb_moni works fine.
    I know that the problem is connected with some tags from Header record of SOAP message:
          <soap:Header>
             <wsa:Action>http://aaa.bbb.ccc/MessageResponse</wsa:Action>
             <wsa:MessageID>uuid:1838f870-1688-4cfe-8c4f-afe14d98c515</wsa:MessageID>

                </wsu:Timestamp>
             </wsse:Security>
          </soap:Header>
    If I take a SOAP message I have problem with, and
    I remove all tags from this Header (or remove
    the whole Header) and send it from any XML editor
    that can send SOAP messages then sxmb_moni hasn't
    any problems with showing me details of a such message.
    Any hints how to force a .Net platform not to send
    a such header or how to force sxmb_moni transaction
    not to fail if a such header occurs?
    Regards,
    Andrzej Filusz

    Hi Santhosh
    1.Check your authorization settings in XI and R/3. Whether the user has sufficient rights to execute the Function Module etc. This is the most common reason for this error.
    2.If the XI system was brought online even before the R/3 system then re-activate the communication channels from the Integration directory.
    Cheers..

    So I think the problem is due to the namespace length. I'm right?
    We can't change the consumed webservice to reduce namespace length and our customer ask us to solve it in PI. Is there any way to change the namespace before to be treated and get a correct application error?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Neetesh,
    we developed our own adapter module. We use it in our receiver soap adapter, module tab, before and after the standard module sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.soapadapter/XISOAPAdapterBean.
    In this audit log secuence you can see that the problem seems not to be solved, because the error is triggered when processing response message inside adapter module sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.soapadapter/XISOAPAdapterBean, so our module is not called and the problem remains.

  • EWS - soap messages

    Hii all :)
    I want to send a soap message to my exchange server ,
    can I  write this soap as i was writing below or I need add another  field  (e.g credential \ Exchange server name , ip ....)
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

    "Services.wsdl   Describes the contract between client and server.
    Messages.xsd   Defines the request and response SOAP messages.
    Types.xsd   Defines the elements used in the SOAP messages.
    "These schema files are located in the IIS virtual directory that hosts Exchange Web Services of the computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server that has the Client Access server role installed."
    Do I have to install these files in the IIS virtual directory (from where i get these files)
    and what a bout
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd633626(v=exchg.80).aspx
    Enable access to Exchange Web Services for mailbox owners and/or EWS Managed API client applications.
    Reference the EWS Managed API assembly.
    Validate X509 certificates for SSL over HTTP.
    Connect to Exchange Web Services by using the ExchangeService class.
    I don't understand what these steps mean ! can you help me?

  • SOAP Messaging Missing

    Hi buddies,
         Have you ever been suffering from missing messages of SOAP sender adapter?
         The java sender program shows that the messaging has been delivered to XI SOAP adapter successfully, but I cannot find it in neither adapter engine, nor integration engine.
         BTW, our clients use the XFire technology to generate the soap message and send it without any exception to be throw out.
         Any suggestions?
    YiNing

    if I want to use SOAP sender adapter in asynchronous senario, is there any method that can be used to avoid this issue?
    I've been suffering this from gSOAP which using C++, XFire which using Java in different projects.
    I found these tools determines whether the receiver system have accepted the soap message by getting the http code 200.

  • Splitting an incoming SOAP message

    Hi All,
    My Scenario is  FILE --> PI --> Webservice --> File (Synch with BPM Asyn Synch procedure).
    I am sending an XML request file with 2 fields and getting Reponse message from WebSerive . The response SOAP message is going to be huge amount of data with 200K Records (app 120 MB) .
    want to know about any option availble to split an incoming SOAP message into smaller messages and process through PI ?
    Thanks ans Regrads,
    Midhusha.

    >I am sending an XML request file with 2 fields and getting Reponse message from WebSerive . The response SOAP message is going to be huge amount of data with 200K Records (app 120 MB) .
    I am not sure if we can receive 120 MB message in one trasaction in synchronous fashion, until unless if you have a good network bandwidth.
    My suggestion would be, have this process in asynchronous fashion. Have two asynchronous webservices, one takes the requests formulates message and then triggers the second webservice in async fashion.
    since the message is huge you can trigger mulitple chunk calls.

  • How do I access the DCJMS* variables in my response SOAP:Header ?

    Hi all,
    I have set up a sync / async Integration Process in XI
    This is initiated by a SAP R/3 transaction that calls a synchronous function to enter XI
    Once in the Bridge, a JMS receiver adapter sends out an asynchronous request message from XI to MQ
    A correlation allows the JMS sender adapter to return an asynchronous response message from MQ to XI back into my the Integration Process
    I have set up the JMS sender adapter configuration to return the DC (dynamic configuration) variables in the <SOAP:Header> of the XI response message along with the payload
    You can see that the DCJMS* variables are returned below

    <b>Question</b>
    I want to access the DCJMS* variables but am not sure how to go about it as the
    variables exist in the <SOAP:Header>?
    I followed the SAP documentation to access adapter-specific attributes (refer to link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm )
    I have used the following code to create a user-defined function for the accessing adapter specific attributes (similar to the link)
    public String Get_Msgid(Container container){
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get
    (StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create
    ("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/JMS","DCJMSMessageID");
    String jmsMsgID = conf.get(key);
    return jmsMsgID;
    <b>Question</b>
    Do I use message mapping to extract the DCJMS* variables?
    <b>Question</b>
    If so then which message is used for the source message so that I can access the <SOAP:Header>?  Eg do I use the response message type or is there a trick to accessing the SOAP:Header?
    <b>Question</b>
    Do I use the user-defined function (like above)?
    I performed the following steps
    •     Opened the message mapping in edit mode
    •     Created the user-defined function using the graphical editor
    •     Saved the message mapping
    •     I have not connected the user-defined function to any of the xml tags in either the source or target messages
    When I go to test the message mapping I am getting the following error

    Jin,
    My compilation issue has gone via a SAP recommendation to specify the JDK home directory in the instance profile

    String Corrid = conf.get(key);
    return Corrid;

  • How to add a custom element to a SOAP Header in c#

    I am new to SOAP and web-services, and not an expert on c# either so sorry if I have made an infuriatingly simple error.
    I am calling several web-services and I now need to add an element called *pcimask* to the SoapHeader in order to get a response that is PCI Compliant.
    The web-services/WSDL don't expose this property so I guess I need to add it at runtime.
    My application creates SOAP messages like the below: (the Soap Request and Response are output into a text file by a SOAP Logging class)
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <soap:Header>
    <AutHeader xmlns="http://edb.com/ws/WSCommon_v21">
    <SourceApplication>myApp</SourceApplication>
    <DestinationApplication>theirApp</DestinationApplication>
    <Function>CardCreate</Function>
    <Version>3.0.0</Version>
    <ClientContext>
    <userid>myID</userid>
    <credentials>SecureToken</credentials>
    <channel>NBA</channel>
    <orgid>123456</orgid>
    <orgunit>654321</orgunit>
    <customerid />
    <locale xsi:nil="true" />
    <ip>123.456.789.012</ip>
    </ClientContext>
    </AutHeader>
    </soap:Header>
    As I understand it, I need to add an element `pcimask="true` to the
    <ClientContext element, and it must be after the <ip>
    However the wsdl doesn't expose this as a property.
    So I have looked at the below resources:
     Bytes.com - how-add-soap-header-soap-message
     Stackoverflow: (18980689) adding-custom-soapheader-in-c-sharp-for-a-web-service-call
     Stackoverflow: (4035423) add-child-elements-to-custom-soap-header-in-spring-ws
    and I came up with a little class inside my `common.cs` as below:
    using System.Web.Services.Protocols;
    using System.Xml.Serialization;
    namespace EvryCardManagement
    [XmlRoot(Namespace = "http://edb.com/ws/WSCommon_v21")]
    [SoapHeader("EDBHeaderType", Direction = SoapHeaderDirection.In)]
    public class CardCreateEx : SoapHeader
    public string Value;
    public CardCreateEx pcimask;
    public static class Common
    public static bool closeMe { get; set; }
    public static int iMQRowID;
    public static string impNme;
    public static string impPwd;
    and I wanted to try and use it in my code that creates the SoapHeader as below:
    private EDBHeaderType wsSoapHeader()
    EDBHeaderType wsSoapHeader = new EDBHeaderType();
    /* ClientContext */
    ClientContextType clientContext = new ClientContextType();
    clientContext.userid = edb_service[0].userid;
    clientContext.credentials = Common.SOToken;

    but I get a build error:
        Attribute 'SoapHeader' is not valid on this declaration type. It is only valid on 'method' declarations.
    so what is the correct way to do this?

    Hi,
    >>Attribute 'SoapHeader' is not valid on this declaration type. It is only valid on 'method' declarations.
    Base on this situation, just as the error message says, the 'SoapHeader' attribute can only use on method, such as:
    [SoapHeader("myHeader", rection=SoapHeaderDirection.InOut)]
    //Receive any SOAP headers other than MyHeader.
    [SoapHeader("unknownHeaders",Required=false)]
    public string MyWebMethod() {
    return "Hello";

  • Unable to open PWA in browser and MSP on application server in project server 2007. ERROR: Sending the Soap message failed or no recognizable response was received.

    Hi All,
    I am using project server 2007 and WSS 3.0.
    I have been facing a strange issue for couple of days. I am unable to open PWA in browser and MS Project Pro on application server.
    Everything is correct whether it is URL or MS Project profile account on MSP.  This is strange because i can open same PWA/MSP from other computers (Database server / Client PCs) but not locally on server.
    When i try to connect to MSP on App server, i get the following errors in event viewer.
    Event Type: Error

    One more issue i am facing and i guess that is related to above issue. The Issue is, when i am creating a new project, It's workspace gets created but doesn't get linked to the project and i can't link it manually because it already exists for the project.

    Hi Paul ,
    Thanks for reply. The project server URL was already added to the Trusted
    Sites/Local Intranet areas in IE.
