Issue not resolved after repair

Hi allI have a Samsung Galaxy Mini. I have had it on a contract for 1 year. Some time ago it started to switch itself off randomly, and I could only switch it off after removing the battery and replacing it.The battery charges and holds a charge, so that doesn't seem to be an issue.I contacted O2 and they advised me to do various things, at one point said they would send me instructions by e-mail, which they never did.Last week, after much live chat, they asked me to send the phone back and I took it to the O2 shop, explained the problem all over again, and the phone was sent off for repair.Yesterday I received the phone back with a letter saying it was fixed, software updated and ready to go. I charged the phone and it seemed ok until this morning; it was fine when I got up but then it switched off again, and again only worked when I removed the battery and replaced it.O2 live chat were hopeless, and after 50 minutes with them I asked for a number to call. Called the number, got cut off twice, waited 30 minutes in total only to be told to send the phone back again for repair. I asked if they would replace it even temporarily while it was sent away but they refused. That will be 2 weeks I have been without a phone. The receipt for the repair says it is in warranty, but the problem is non-warranty (not sure how they know that as they don't seem to have a grip on what the problem is).  I have been unable to locate their policy on repairs. Hoping someone can advise me and help bring my blood pressure to an acceptable level :/

Your best option would be to contact Samsung support and arrange the repair through them to be honest. I and many others have no faith in O2's repairers.http://www.samsung.com/uk/info/contactus.html

  • Issues not resolved after updating to latest SP BO 4.0

Issues not resolved after updates to latest SP
We initially installed BO 4.0 with SP4 FP3. After that updated the installation to SP6, SP7, SP8, SP9 and SP9 patch3. We skipped SP5 as it had no issues effecting the way we work.
Now we discovered that most of the important issues for development like being able to modify merged dimensions by adding a dimension are not resolved, despite the updates which would have fixed the issue.
    Any ideas?
Is it possible to install SP5 afterwards and then update again to the new SP10?

You don't need to install SP5. Latest SP you have installed, will have all the fixes of SP5.
You cannot install SP5 after installing SP9. There is no need to install aslo.

  • Aliases will not resolve after 10.6.8 upgrade

I just upgraded to 10.6.8 on my power mac and now my desktop aliases will not resolve. Any ideas how to fix this?

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.

  • Keys (MJU) are not working after repair

    Hello,
I've sent my MBP early 2011 for motherboard replacement, as affected model.
After repair service inform me some keys are not working anymore (MJU), thay asked me 290 euros for repair
What should I do? Anyone else had the same problem?

I never managed to get the keys to work again, but maybe I haven't been holding them long enough.
I have read somewhere that Apple ask for more than 300€ (USD 400) to change the keyboard, so I am considering opening myself my Crapple Crapbook Pro and change it myself.
I am quite ****** actually. A keyboard shouldn't die like this with no reason less than 3 years later. My Powerbook G4 that I used a lot much more than the Macbook is still working fine.

  • 7.3.1 is out, issue NOT resolved, problem STILL there

I was not having the library (-50) problem
My iTunes just doesn't show up after pressing the icon on the dock
triangle is there, it bounces once and the fans of my MBP become 6000rpm
in activity monitor itunes is like 100% process full loading
    BUT iTunes still doesn't work!!
I feel AWKWARD and FRUSTRATED when my PC friend used my Mac and found that he couldn't even launch the native music player on the Mac - after my boast on how stable the Mac platform is...
    *****

Good News! With the help of tech support, my iTunes is working!
Here is basically what they had me do:
    1. The start a fresh iTunes Library fix (put iTunes library in trash and .xml on desktop - this didn't work)
    2. Create a new user (create a new user for account - this also didn't work)
    3. Verify/Repair Permissions (this didn't work)
    4. Insert OS Disk, for me it was putting in my Panther installation disk, then shutting down and starting up with Safe Boot (to activate safe boot, hold down "c" when restarting until OS is back up - this didn't work)
    5. Upgrade Quicktime to most recent ver.7.2 (after I installed this, it required my comp to restart - my computer actually went to the blue screen of death and couldn't do anything. This is when I called tech support again and they had me shut down and restart with the option button held down. This brought it back to life and then I put in the OS disk again and reinstalled my entire OS - nothing was deleted though I was back to ver. 10.3 instead of 10.3.9. After I did this, I had to download 10.3.9 and Quicktime 7.2 (again) and install them. After this, iTunes works perfectly)
I hope one of these methods works for you, worst case scenario is that you would have to reinstall your OS, and thats not bad at all. If you've had your iPod for less then a year or have Applecare, Tech support will walk you through this no problem, they were very helpful. Let me know if it works.

  • IMac Display Issues Not Resolved

The Apple Store at La Cantera in San Antonio Needs Help!
I purchased my first personal iMac on May 17, 2006. It was a reconditioned model. Granted, I work for a very large urban school district in technology, I decided that the Intel Mac was for me. Within ten minutes of receiveing my iMac from Fed-ex the display began to show pinkish and green pixels all over the screen. I took the unit in that day to the Apple "Geniuses" at my local store. They booted it and immediately ordered a new MLB and LCD. I was told by the Apple support site it would be ready the 23rd of May. The day came and went and no iMac. On the 25th the store now reported that they were waiting on a Bluetooth Chip that they had broken during my repair. So, I was forced to wait over the Memorial Day weekend and finally received my iMac today. After ten minutes of use, I noticed the same exact problem I took it in for. It was as if no one had repaired it! I checked my System Profiler and noticed that my one gig stick of ram had been replaced by two sticks of 256MB of RAM! Wow! Where did my RAM go? The manager said he trusted the integrity of his techs. Does that mean he doesn't trust mine? Sadly, I am returning my iMac and will probably never make the Switch. I really wanted to. But, Apple is just not ready to please their customers.

    How is it going on?

  • Isight not opening after repair

I have just got my my new imac back after being sent away for the logic board to be replaced because of lines on my display. Anyway now when i try to open isight it says there is no camera attached or it is in use by another application. There are no other applications using it and it worked fine before I sent it away for repair. Is there anything I can do to rectify this?
Should I phone the place that repaired it for help or Apple?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    TvLizard,
Yes I would call them. Its possible that something didn't get plugged back in when they replaced the logic board. I had a similar issue with my new PowerBook logic board replacement, except it was the ethernet.

  • PB NOT WORKING AFTER "REPAIR"

I just got my PlayBook back from "repair" and my volume buttons don't work, the camera doesn't work, and when I go to pictures it doesn't work either. I don't know what to do, this hard reboot things doesn't work and my warranty has run out about now. But if they send it back and it's still an overpriced paperweight, shouldn't they take it in again and fix it proper? I used to be proud RIM was a Canadian company, now I'm just ashamed...

I got a similar experience, I had mine sent to replace a cracked screen, they charged me $150 for the repair, and instead of repairing it they set a replacement, and the replacement can not be ACTIVATE, and I found out that it is registered in RIM database as stolen, and there is nothing that I can do because when I call the support number all they tell me is that I can sent it back to them for testing, the testing would cost me another $150 and then they would send it back to me in the same state ie. not ACTIVATE
If after testing they decide that it can be exchange, then that would cost me $300.
In the end this repair would cost me more then what I apid for the device when I bought it in April 2011
Using the Playbook and the Z10 and the Z30 and loving them

  • Control key not working after repair

I took my macbook in over the weekend to the genius bar for them to look at the display hinge, from the paperwork it looks like in addition to replacing the display they also replaced the logic board and the wifi card.
I got the laptop home and the control key is not working. Resetting PRAM and NVRAM doesn't fix the issue, nor does fiddling with keyboard/universal access settings.
Is this a hardware issue? Do I need to make another trip to the genius bar?

Hm-m, I got exactly the same problem, got the logic board replaced today, and at home discovered that the control key is not working. Have you found the solution?

  • Y410p Front headphone and microphone jacks not working after repair

I recently (last month) sent  my IdeaPad Y410p in to Lenovo for repairs due to the laptop not turning on, or repeatedly restarting at the BIOS screen. The laptop was repaired by Lenovo (they replaced the motherboard), and returned it to me. The laptop has worked great sincce then, except that the two USB ports on the right side and the headphone and microphone jacks do not work. I have reinstalled the audio drivers, twice, but have not reinstalled the chipset drivers at all, as I don't want to screw around with those untiol I no more about what I should do. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Talonek, welcome to the forums,
the problem you are experiencing is probably due to the cable connecting the ports on the right side, front of system, to the mainboard unfortunately not being connected or connected properly.  Please see pdf page 52 of the system's Hardware Maintenance Manual.
I've never taken an Y410p apart, but having looked at the manual the cable connection may well be accessible to check / fix by removing the hard drive.  Another alternative would be to call service and ask them to do this for you.

  • Subwoofer not working after HDD have been replaced with SDD

    Greetings,
Today I was helping a friend to replace his HDD with the new SDD he bought for his mid 2012 Macbook pro 15. We also got a caddy to replace DVD with old HDD, thus leaving him with two discs (I have already done this couple of times on different macs). After we finished, everything was working fine, both discs running smooth etc. However, after playing a song from iTunes, we noticed that there is no bass whatsoever in the playback. We both are audio engineers and know frequencies pretty good, so everything below 200 Khz cannot be heard. We tested the built-in output with the headphones we are familiar with, and it is working normally. Then we made A/B test with Macbook pro 13 and this particular 15 I am talking about - low freq. are apparently way more transparent comparing to 15, which is insane. So, we checked the positioning of the speakers on the board and figured out that there is a woofer just next to the HDD slot. However, we were careful and did not pull anything or made any physical impact that would kill the woofer.... any ideas or similar experiences? Thank you in advance, he needs his mac ASAP, it is our bread and butter
