Issue when submitting XML report from back end.

Hi All,
I have a customized XXPrinted Purchase Order Report where I am submitting it from back end as below.

When I am executing this block in PO approval workflow with the customized function XXPO_COMMUNICATION_PVT.fax_po
It is submitting the report but output is showing in xml data (not in pdf)
Please let me know if I am missing anything.

Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
Can you post the concurrent request log file here?
Can you find any errors in the OPP log file ($APPLCSF/$APPLLOG/FNDOPP*)?

Display hidden fields in output list when submitting a report from another

I have a report A that is submitting another report B and exporting the list to memory. Report B is a standard report and cannot be executed on its own.

The output of report B displays an ALV report, default layout of this ALV has a number of hidden fields. So when I am exporting the list to memory, the returned internal table finally extracted (t_ascitab) has only the default fields and not the hidden fields.
The default layout of the standard report B cannot be altered (as per requirement).
Is there any way the hidden fields of the output of report B can be returned to report A??

You have to Set layout of report B as per your requirment .
There is also other method
You can include Reportb   in main report and access internal table data for further processing .

Issue when opening a report from concurrent manager

Our EBS instance worked well and stable. But two days ago, we met a strange issue as below description:
When user clicks "View Output" or "View log" from concurrent manager, they see the error in the pop-up: "Authentication failed" or "File server could not identify source file". The link in the pop-up is in "http://hostname/OA_CGI/FNDWRR.exe?temp_id=<number>" format.
After some attempts to refresh this pop-up page or close pop-up - re-click "View output" our user can see the correct output as normal. Sometimes, they click view output once and get the correct output immediately. The messages we've got is not same during these attempts, it could be authentication failed or "File server could not identify source file" randomly.
We've tried to find the solutions from metalink and from some threads in this forum but nothing can help. It's our production system.

Can you find any errors in the CM/Database/OS log files?
Can you confirm that the concurrent requests output/log files have been generated successfully at the OS level? Does this issue happen with all concurrent requests or specific ones only?
We've tried to find the solutions from metalink and from some threads in this forum but nothing can help. What solutions have you tried?
Did you run AutoConfig?

Submitting concurrent request from back end.

Hi guys,
I am submitting the concurrent request using fnd_request.submit_request ,passing start time as Sysdate.
When i submit the program in scheduling section of concurrent program,the Requested start date defaults to current date but hours and minutes are 00:00:00.Can we make it to run AS soon as Possible?

XML Layout to be attached to a SRS Report called from back end.

Hi,
I have got a set of reports which I will have to call from the back end using FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST packaged function.
In that, some are having a XML layout. When being submitted these requests do not get the XML layout called; hence, the display fails with error 'Unable to find published output for this request'.
Kindly help me on how to refer the XML layout during the calling of the backend function.

Answers to your Q's as below:
1. how is your concurrent report defined ? is the concurrent program output format XML ?
YES
2. In the report itself (rdf), under report properties - XML setting section, is the XML Prolog value set ?
XML Prolog value set: <?xml version="1.0"?>
3. Have you validated that the report query(ies) is(are) working in SQL*PLS/Toad/SQL Developer ?
This is a report registered and working fine, when run manually. Only submission from back end omits the layout. Hence, being unable to publish the output.
4. If the report query is working and everything is correctly setup, have you look on the server if XML is generated ?
Yes. Output is getting generated. Only issue is the attachment of the layout template.

I want to schedule concurrent program for every one hour from back end .
Example
1) xyz is the concurrent program that should run for every one hour with a parameter 111 and the SAME concurrent program that
should run every 2 hours with a different parameter like 222.
I mean Conc prog should run for different parametrs with a different scheduling..
Please guide me to solve the issue.

Resubmit a Requisition in 'Incomplete' Status from back end.

I have a requirement wherein i need to restart the requisition approval which is in 'Incomplete' Status.
The issue is that, if something changes to the AME rules when the requisition/requisitions are in flight , it caused the requisition workflow to complete and the status of the requisition goes to 'Incomplete'. I am trying to see if i fixed the AME and can resubmit the requisition/requisitions which were 'Incomplete' using program from back end.
Any help or pointer is appreciated.

My Understanding is :
PR with IN PROCESS status will convert to incomplete when you alter the AME.
From Backend, you will again move the PR to original status (in process).
Pl.confirm the same or rectify .

i think after executing a procedure you want to call commit operation. better you can perform this.getDbtransaction().commit In Application Module;yes i want to commit transaction after executing back end procedure using preparedStatement.Procedure is for inserting data into same table , which used for creating VO and Read only ADF Table.Procedure is executed fine, but newly created records are not getting into ADF table.Once i did commit opeartion inside back end procedure, whole records are getting into ADF Table.
Is there any way to get whole records without doing Commit operation inside Back end procedure?

Performance issues when creating a Report / Query in Discoverer

I have a Discoverer Report that currently takes less than 5 seconds to run. After I add a condition to bring back Batch Status that = Posted we cancelled the query after reaching 20 minutes as this is way too long. If I remove the condition the query time goes back to less than 5 seconds.

I've tried the condition (Batch Status||'' = 'Posted') as you suggested, but the qeury time is still over 20 mins. To test i changed it to (Batch Status||'' = 'Unposted') and the query was returned within seconds again.
Ive been doing some more digging and have found the database view that is linked to the Journal Batches folder. See below.
I think the problem is with the column using DECODE. When querying the column in TOAD the value of P is returned. But in discoverer the condition is done on the value Posted. Im not too sure how DECODE works, but think this could be the causing some sort of issue with Full Table Scans. How do we get around this?

Emailing XML reports from EBUS

Hello.
I am trying to generate email version of the XML report from e-Business suite via concurrent program. Of course sending the report to email is extremely challenging. I tried to follow the steps in the blogs and is not reaching anywhere.
Just checking to see if any one was able to successfully email reports from concurrent programs.

I was able to use a pl/sql and a generic email program to send out reports generated from BI publisher.
This may look complicated but is easy if you break it out .
Requirement:- Sales order summary report need to be send to sales agents as a nightly run.
The process is simple
1) create a generic email program that will accept the directory and has the capability to read blob then attach to the email.
2) create a DIRECTORY in oracle database to point to APPLOUT
3) create a custom package that will submit the concurrent program that will create the pdf report.note make sure to add the layout before submitting the concurrent program sample
APPS.FND_REQUEST.ADD_LAYOUT('XBOL','XXCPD_OEXDRCAP','en-US','US','PDF');
4) Based on your environment the output pdf will be created in the APPLOUT location in the format SHORT_NAME_REQUESTID_1.pdf
5) call your generic email program to email this pdf.
This is only an alternative method instead of messing around with java code. What i have seen is if the pl/sql is generic this is a repeatable and transportable process.

How to run an XML Report from Oracle Forms 10G

Hello Friends,
I am in need of showing a xml report output through a button press trigger in Oracle Forms10G.
I have designed the report in XML Publisher and the report looks fine.I found few scripts useful in running the Oracle Report from Oracle forms10G like Run_Report_Object.But I am not aware of any script that could run a XML report and show the output directly from a Form.
All I want is to run a XML report from an Oracle Form with a button press trigger and show the output in an html version.
Can this be achieved?
If so, Kindly advise as this is an immediate work.

If I am not wrong the XML publisher is same as BI publisher ...
There is one document which explains how to integrate using web service

File download from back end syetem to the user system

Hi,
This is very urgent requirement for me, can anybody help me regarding this:
I have back end on one system and the front end on a different system. The use has login from third system.
There is file on the back end system. User want to download that file using FTP to the local system. The Ftp download class is available at the back end system. Can anybody help me in sending the request from JSP to the back end to download the file from back end to the user's local system. FYI, I have to use core JSP/Servlet - support jre 1.4.2

When a record is being updated by a form, if you create a Pre-Update trigger on the block, the trigger will run for each record being updated.
Same thing happens with a Pre-Insert and Pre-Delete trigger.
