Issue while adding WCF Web Service reference using Oracle APEX

Hi,
We have an issue with creating the Web Service Reference for the WCF web service:
http://dev.virtualearth.net/webservices/v1/metadata/geocodeservice/GeocodeService1.wsdl
The APEX gives the following error
“The WSDL document could not be understood by the rendering engine. Click Create Web Service Reference Manually to continue creating a reference for this service.”
Can you please tell me if creating the Web Service Reference for WCF is supported on the “out of the box“ APEX?
Environment information:
APEX 4.0.2.00.07
Database 11.2.0.3
Please note that we have tried it in APEX 4.1.1 from apex.oracle.com and the error there is different, it can connect even to ASMX wsdl.
Thank you.

I don't think that is it specific to just .NET web services. I have tried with a web service created with TIBCO BusinessWorks (Middleware product) that did not work either. The wsdl validated correctly in soapUI, so I think it just must be the implementation of the parser which is looking for some specific format.
When in doubt, go with either the manual reference or with pl/sql using one of the api's.

    2.  View Webi History.
    3.  Open successful instance  (For the 1st or 2nd time reports are opening up, from the 3rd time it just freeze the session)
    4. After it get freeze we need to close the IE using Task Manager.
    Can any one please suggest a resolution for this issue.

    Hello Gokul,
    first thing is to check is if your chrome version is supported by your current BO version as specified in the PAM (is it?). If the chrome version is supported, and you still have an issue, then you can check with a sap support engineer.

  • Issue with creating Web Service Client using Oracle JDeveloper

    Hi All,
    I am trying to create a Web Service Client using Oracle JDeveloper. I set the Project compiler property to JRE 1.4
    When I run the web service client, it throws me bunch of errors saying:
    'Error(32,2): annotations are not supported in -source 1.4'
    I am wondering why JDeveloper is using annotations even after I set the compiler property to 1.4
    I am following this link to create the webservice client:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/webservices-forms-11g-094111.html
    Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Scott.

    Dear Shay,
    Thanks for your prompt response.
    You are right. JDeveloper 11g uses JDK 6 style annotations for the clients it creates. But you can change the JRE Version used at compile time by following these steps:
    1. In the Applications Navigator, right-click the Project Nanem node and select Project Properties... from the context menu.
    2. Select the Compiler node and check the Source Files and Generated Class Files dropdown lists. You may change these versions depending on the version of the JRE you are using with Forms to ensure that the compiled
    classes from JDeveloper can be read by the JRE used by Form.
    So I selected JDK version 1.4 there.
    Sorry that I did not mention that we are using Oracle Forms 10g. That is the reason I selected JDK 1.4
    Thank you.
    Scott.

  • Unable to open connection to MS Access 2013 .accdb file Under WCF Web Service Project Using Windows 8.1 64bit

    I am encountering the following error when trying to connect to an Access 2013 database:
    The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine.
    I have Visual Studio 2013 SP3 running on Windows 8.1 64bit OS which also has Office 2013 installed (which includes MS Access 2013).  My project is a WCF web service using .NET Framework 4.5.1 using any cpu as target.  I have tried reluctantly
    to install the older drivers as described by in the below article:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1d5c04c7-157f-4955-a14b-41d912d50a64/how-to-fix-error-the-microsoftaceoledb120-provider-is-not-registered-on-the-local-machine?forum=vstsdb
     and also went through the "Add Data Source" wizard in the Project menu to have the connect string automatically built.  Even with the automatically built connect string I can not connect to the .accdb file from within my WCF web service.
    What's odd is if I use the Database Explorer in Visual Studio it has no problem connecting the my Access file.  I inspected the connect string and tried to use it as well but still get the same error. Even stranger is that I have no problem connecting
    to the Access DB in an ASP.NET project on the same PC. I am also able to connect to the Access file using a simple Windows Forms application.  So I'm wondering if it has something to do with trying to connect to the Access file from a WCF web service
    project.
    What I'd like to know is if anyone has been able to get this to work in an environment as I described above as a 64bit WCF web service project?  I tried to switch my project to 32bit but when I do I get a different error which reads:
    System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'file:
    Almost to the point of trying to get this web service project done with SQL Express but would like to know if it can be done with MS Access 2013.  Any information anyone can provide to help me get past this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Have you installed the 64-bit Access driver on your machine? See
    Data Source Names and 64-Bit Operating Systems for the differences in odbcad32. Call %SystemRoot%\system32\odbcad32.exe to check the drivers.
    How do you host your service? Stand-alone or IIS or embedded to another application? Keep in mind that IIS7 runs it in its application pool which is defaullt 64bit. Thus the bad image exception, when compiling your service as 32bit.
    When you need the Access database for your service to store informtation, then I would switch to SQL Server (Express) or XML files depending on your actual needs.
    Also check whether your account under which your service is run has the necessary NTFS file permissions on the access file and the folder. This is getting even more complex when it's a remote folder.

  • Error in creating Web service reference using WSDL

    Hi Experts,
    I'm using apex 4.1, Oracle 11g
    ERROR MESSAGE: The WSDL document was unretrievable because either the URL you supplied was invalid, your environment requires a valid proxy server address for HTTP requests and you have not defined one for this application, or a wallet needs to be configured for this instance of Application Express for HTTPS requests
    I know this is a famous issue apex devs faced. I'm having the same problem now. I went through many forums and websites and came to a conclusion that this is something to do with
    ACL.
    This is wat i'm trying.
    1) I have Apex and my web service running on the same server. (We don't use proxy server to connect to W'service)
    2) This is the path of the WDSL document i gave - 127.0.0.1/EPRWS/DashboardService.asmx?WSDL
    3) I created a default Oracle Wallet by giving no other information other than user name password.
    4) i gave the default wallet's user name, password in apex app.
    5) The only data that I inserted into ACL table as follows,
    BEGIN
    DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.CREATE_ACL('power_users.xml',
    'ACL that lets power users to connect to everywhere',
    'FLOWS_030000', TRUE, 'connect');
    DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.ASSIGN_ACL('power_users.xml','*');
    END;
    begin
    dbms_network_acl_admin.add_privilege (
    acl => 'power_users.xml',
    principal => 'FLOWS_030000',
    is_grant => TRUE,
    privilege => 'connect'
    END;
    I guess the data inserted into ACL tables as given above to give user privilege is not accurate. Could someone explain me how to properly populate the ACL tables and what exactly needs to be inserted into both ACL tables ? And Should we give anyother information when we create a wallet to fix the able issue ?
    Thanks in advance
    Kurubaran.

    Thanks Role for your reply. As you said i used "APEX_040100". Following script did the magic and now i can call the service. :)

  • Publish PL/SQL package as a web service without using Oracle AS?

    Hello, my question is:

    Hi,

  • Problem getting RESTful web service reference working with header value

    Hi,
    I posted this on Apex Listener forum but since I am not sure problem is with my Application RESTful web service reference or a Listener issue, I am posting here as well:
    I am on Apex 4.2.2 and Listener 2.1 and the listener is on WEblogic.
    I succeeded to get a RESTful web service working in an application with no header to obtain a full set of data. The data set is very large, so I am now just trying to set up a web service to get a set of data based on a student ID.
    I followed the examples shown in the RESTful web service module of SQL Workshop and set up a handler of this type:
    https://ourweblogicserver/apex/bnr/ace/students/course_grades/{stid}
    The test for this handler succeeded both for JSON output and CSV output in the Workshop test environment.
    However, when I try it from a Web Service Reference that I created for my application following what looked like the same approach used on the example video, I get NO data back. If I put a 'stid' directly into a URL of a web browser and do the basic authentication I get the data!!
    This is what I have for the Web service reference:
    https://ourweblogicserver/apex/bnr/ace/students/course_grades/{stid}
    Basic auth set to Yes -- and this is working -- I am able to authenticate
    HTTP method Get
    output format Text
    no response Xpath
    no response namespace
    defaults for new record and parameter delimiter
    NO REST input parameters
    Output set for all the fields in the data set queried (same set of data as in my rest service which does not have any http header)
    REST HTTP Header : Name stid
    I there something I am missing. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this further.
    I also tried exactly following the example shown on the Oracle Video for RESTFul web services at
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkCvd6P8_OU
    and I can't get the 2nd example to work either-- where the header has the bind variable parameter.
    Pat

    I was able to resolve the problem -- in the latest version of the RESTful web service that I created, I had left out the creation of the Header Parameter bind variable. Once I did that everything works fine!! I was able to test in the application and got the record of an individual student.
    Thanks,
    PM

  • How to invoke a web service asynchronously using ws-addressing model?

    Hi Gurus,
    We are invoking an external web service asynchronously using Oracle Work Flow Business events using the following mechanism -
    1)Created a web service invoker event to invoke the web service.
    2)Created a subscription that invokes the web service (provided the wsdl address, operation info).
    3)Defined a subscription parameter WFBES_CALLBACK_EVENT with value pointing to a recieve event.
    4)Created a receive event(parameter value for WFBES_CALLBACK_EVENT) and a subscription that directs the response to a custom PL/SQL function to process response.
    so far so good. We were able to invoke the web service and get and process the response.
    Problem: The external web service can take upto 10 hrs to process the request. A time out of 2 hrs is set on the server hosting the external web service. So when the external web service takes more than 2 hrs to process the request and it times out and we get the following error on EBS side -
    'l_error_message:oracle.apps.fnd.wf.bes.InvokerException: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.ContentTypeException: Not a valid SOAP Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1'
    Now the external web service providers are suggesting that we are not calling their web service asynchronously and we should use ws-addressing model to do so.
    Is there a way to invoke this web service using ws-addressing model using business events or from PL/SQL or OA middle-tier?

    Bharat,
    You dont need a Business Event setup to invoke a BPEL process from PL/SQL unless you have a special case and you need to process the response from the BPEL process in a separate thread (or in background)..
    For a straight call to BPEL process from PL/SQL, here is a sample script -
    function "MYTEST0" return varchar2 AS
    soap_request varchar2(30000);
    soap_respond varchar2(30000);
    http_req utl_http.req;
    http_resp utl_http.resp;
    resp XMLType;
    i integer;
    helpStr varchar2(30000);
    BEGIN
    soap_request:= '<?xml version = ''1.0'' encoding = ''UTF-8''?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:ns0="
    http://xmlns.oracle.com/TestWS">
    <env:Body>
    <ns0:TestWSProcessRequest>
    <ns0:input>abc</ns0:input>
    </ns0:TestWSProcessRequest>
    </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>
    /* the BPEL process name is TestWS */
    http_req:= utl_http.begin_request
    ( 'http://hostname:7777/orabpel/default/TestWS/1.0'
    , 'POST'
    , 'HTTP/1.1'
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Type', 'text/xml');
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Length', length(soap_request));
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'SOAPAction', 'process');
    utl_http.write_text(http_req, soap_request);
    http_resp:= utl_http.get_response(http_req);
    utl_http.read_text(http_resp, soap_respond);
    utl_http.end_response(http_resp);
    resp:= XMLType.createXML(soap_respond);
    resp:= resp.extract('/soap:Envelope/soap:Body/child::node()',
    'xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"');
    helpStr := '';
    i:=0;
    loop
    helpStr := helpStr || substr(soap_respond,1+ i*255,250);
    i:= i+1;
    if i*250> length(soap_respond)
    then
    exit;
    end if;
    end loop;
    return helpStr;

  • Custom Timer Job to execute WCF web service error - Could not find default endpoint element that references contract

    Hi,
    I am currently creating custom timer job to call WCF web service to perform nighty job to update employee document library metadata. If I update regular list/library items it updates correctly on a specified interval basis. However when I try to integrate
    the WCF client, it throws error shown below :
    Could not find default endpoint element that references contract EmployeeServiceReference.
    EmployeeServiceClient in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this contract could be found in the client element.
    I followed exact instructions Andrew Connell has provided but included my logic in execute()

    var empClient =
    new
    'ServiceReference.EmployeeServiceClient();
    var employee = empClient.EmployeesMethod();
    I have tried all approaches to manually adding app.config settings in sharepoing web.config but still it throws the error mentioned. It seems that application config and sharepoint site config binding issue still exist and cannot be resolved.

    Will you please help resolving this issue?

    Hi,
    You can use any of the three approaches:-
    1) Access web application's web.config programmatically in Execute() method.
    http://praveenkasireddy.wordpress.com/2012/12/14/access-web-application-configuration-values-in-timer-job-sharepoint/
    2) Store the configuration in xml and upload it to SharePoint document library then read from there
    http://www.sharepointdynamics.net/2011/08/using-an-xml-settings-file-to-store-values-for-your-sharepoint-projects/
    3) Programmatically configure a WCF endpoint.

  • Issue with OSI PI WCF Web Service with wshttpbinding

    Hi Experts,
    System Details:
    SAP MII 14 SP4
    OSI PI Web Service: PITimeSeries
    I am having issue when trying to call OSI PI web service using http post. it is returning status 0 when i am using exception handler in BLS.
    Same web service works fine with basichttpbinding (SOAP 1.1)  but with wshttpbinding (SOAP 1.2) it is giving error.
    Following are Web config binding details for web service.
          <wsHttpBinding>
            <binding name="wsBinding_2011" sendTimeout="00:01:00" receiveTimeout="00:10:00" bypassProxyOnLocal="false" transactionFlow="false" hostNameComparisonMode="StrongWildcard" maxBufferPoolSize="524288" maxReceivedMessageSize="65536" messageEncoding="Text" textEncoding="utf-8" useDefaultWebProxy="true" allowCookies="false">
              <reliableSession ordered="true" inactivityTimeout="00:10:00" enabled="false" />
              <security mode="Message">
                <message clientCredentialType="Windows" negotiateServiceCredential="true" algorithmSuite="Default" establishSecurityContext="true" />
              </security>
            </binding>
          </wsHttpBinding>
    I am not sure it could be the issue with passing windows credentials.
    Did anybody consumed WCF web service with wshttpbinding with security mode as Message and clientCredentialType as Windows.
    Also i was trying to pass MYSAPSSO2 SSO token to service in http post but first i am not sure if this is correct windows token and second which header property of service should be mapped and i am not sure that I am going into correct direction or not.
    Please let me know what i am missing.
    I have tried following other options and tools:
    SOAP UI: basichttpbinding works fine for wshttpbinding receiving Internal Server error in log and Response as
                      The security context token is expired or is not valid.
    MII Web Service Action Block: basichttpbinding works fine for wshttpbinding not able to configure url through wizard because as per                                                                              my discussion with other MII experts MII does not support SOAP1.2. that is one reason for using http post.
    WCF Storm: both bindings works fine (There is option to select windows authentication and Impersonation level as delegation)
    WCF Test Client: Both bindings works fine
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Manoj Bilthare

    Hi Sam,
    The web service is valid following are details of testing on various tools.
    SOAP UI: basichttpbinding works fine for wshttpbinding receiving Internal Server error in log and Response as The security context token is expired or is not valid.
    Please let me know if additional details required.

  • Using SAML policy while invoking a web service

    I have to invoke a webservice which is secured using the policy wss10_saml_token_client_policy.
    In order to achieve the above i have creates a stub using JAX-WS and while invoking the web service I pass the policy as a SecurityFeature.Code snippet given below:
    SecurityPolicyFeature[] securityFeatures = new SecurityPolicyFeature[] { new SecurityPolicyFeature(
                        getValueFromPropertyFile("oracle/wss10_saml_token_client_policy"))};
    SomeStub stub =(UserManagementPortTypev1_0)SomeService.getPort("...","....",securityFeatures );
    Once deployed in weblogic and when i invoke the service, the soap request formed is correct. It creates for me the soap header with the correct security nodes. The header formed is like below:
    <S:Header>

    The node NameIdentifier is supposed to be populated with the logged in user id, which will be picked up from JAAS principal.
    Now I am invoking the service hosted in weblogic from outside using JSON protocol, I do not have a portal ready to invoke the service.
    My question is, is there any way in which i can replicate/ simulate the JAAS principal such that the nameidentifier is populated even when invoked from outside. THis is a requirement from testing perspective.

    Hi,
    Thanx it is working now.
    BTW can you give me some urls with info of this kind of setting which i need to do for other kind of integarions in J2EE platform.Sorry if i am asking too much as i am a starter in this technology.

  • Error while creating web service reference

    Hi,
    I have very limited knowledge of web services. we have a BPEL implementation and I have been handed location to 3 wsdl files for which I am trying to create a web service reference(under shared component->logic) in apex(3.1.1). I am successfully able to create for 1 wsdl but for other two i get the below error.
    "1 error has occurred
    The WSDL document contains multiple SOAP bindings. Application Express only supports WSDL's with one SOAP binding. Click Create Web Service Reference Manually to continue creating a reference for this service."
    looking at the working and not working wsdls, i see the following difference. i collapsed all the xml tags in the wsdl file and found that the one that is not working and giving above error has the below two tags twice with data in it.
    <wsdl:portType name=
    <wsdl:binding name=
    any help to parse this wsdl in APEX be greatly appreciated.
    thanks,
    khan

    I have just read that " APEX does not support multiple binding web services currently" at http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/category/apex/
    ..still reading it. though the post is dated back in 2008, I wonder why this functionality wasn't added to Apex.

  • Issue while creating connection pool in weblogic using SERVICE NAME

    Found two issues while creating connection pool in weblogic using SERVICE NAME
    1. While running apps from jdeveloper using xxx-jdbc.xml

         at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.ConnectionPool.doStart(ConnectionPool.java:1051)
    2. Configuriing the jndi in Weblogic server
    weblogic.common.ResourceException: Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: Listener refused the connection with the following error:
    ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor
    The Connection descriptor used by the client was:

         at weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourcePoolImpl.makeResources(ResourcePoolImpl.java:1109)
         at weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourcePoolImpl.makeResources(ResourcePoolImpl.java:1033)
    Problem
    database url is generated based on SID
    eg: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:SID
    Solution
    (generate seperate url for SERVICE NAME)
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521/SERVICENAME
    ------------------------

    It is so clear: host not found error for network connection and the other SID servcie name not found means your oracle instance name is not up. check with srvctl status for given servcie name or node, else check CRS_Stat -t if you are using RAC.

  • OC4J client with WCF Web Service using Mutual Certificates

    I'm trying to generate client stubs for a WCF web service.
    I tried using docs here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B10464_05/web.904/b10447/tools.htm
    # OC4J 9.0.4

    </proxy-gen>
    </web-service>
    java -jar WebServicesAssembler.jar -debug
    - ends with NullPointerException:

    # WebLogic 10.3.5
    I'm happy to say that everything seems to work well under WebLogic 10.3.5.
    I used weblogic.wsee.tools.anttasks.ClientGenTask with ant
    to generate the proxy files.

    I understand how to use these files and everything works.
    But we need this to work in the OC4J orion server before we are ready to upgrade to WebLogic.
    I have also tried OC4J 10.1.2.0.2 - same a OC4j 9.0.4 - null pointer.
    I also tried Metro, but it uses wsimport, so also does not have a stub.
    I'm out of ideas. Any pointers or advice are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    My guess would be that the server's certificate isn't in your client's trust-store (which defaults to "cacerts"). Chances are your senior architect has already imported the server-cert on his machine and forgotten he did so.
