Issue while installing ODI

Hi All,
When installing ODI, it is giving error at very beginning of the installation. I am using Oracle Data Integrator 11gR1 (11.1.1.6.0)
C"\Temp\Disk1>setup.exe -jreLoc C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6
Starting Oracle Universal Installer...

Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from C:\Users\abc\AppData\Local\Temp\OraInstall2012-08-28_03-28-59AM. Please wait ...
The JavaRuntime Environment was not found at C:\Program\bin\javaw.exe
I did google and found that because of space in absolute path, it is giving an error. Is there any workaround?

ODI wont take java path having space (Program Files).
Try to install java in a path having without space like C:\Java\Java\jdk_1.6.33
After this use below command
C:\Temp\Disk1>setup.exe -jreLoc C:\Java\Java\jdk_1.6.33

  • Issue while installing ODI 11.1.1.6 with JDK 7u

    Hi All,
I am working on installing ODI on windows 64 bit. I downloaded lastest web logic server files, ODI files and JDK files from oracle site..
I installed Web Logice server with no errors but when I tried to install ODI by running the setup.exe it was giving me an error:
"Error: Provide the JDK/JRE Location while launching the installer. Invoke the sertup.exe with -jreLoc <JDK/JRE Location absolute path>Parameter(s)".
So, I looked in to JDK file and noticed that it is an old file and need to be updated so I installed "jdk-7uf-windows-i586.exe". After installing when I try to setup ODI, I am still getting the same error..
It is asking me to provide the location but I am not srue where to provide the location.. I know the location for JDK i.e. C:\Program files\Java\jdk1.7.0_04 but I am not sure where to provide this location for ODI..
    Thanks a lot!

    2 things must be noticed:
First: ODI 11g is not supported by JDK 7, I always use the JDK1.6.0_27 and works fine. When you try to open the ODI Studio, this message appears, telling that ODI is supported only with JDK 6 versions, so don't try to use JDK 7.
Second: I always install the JDK in a path without spaces, like "C:\JDK1.6.0_27\" and the excatly same thing to odi install files. So I call via Command Prompt:
    C:\ODI_INSTALL\Disk1\setup.exe -jreLoc C:\JDK1.6.0_27\
I did over 20 windows installations using these settings, it'll work perfectly.

  • An issue while installing oracle 10g express edition on Ubuntu 10.04-64bit

    Hi,
I'm running into an issue while installing oracle 10g express edition on my Ubuntu 10.04-64 bit installed machine using oracle-xe-universal_10.2.0.1-1.0_i386.deb package. The issue actually came up when I was trying to reinstall the package after uninstalling it due to some problem I had with my login credentials. To elaborate further on it, the /etc/init.d/oracle-xe script does not get created when I execute the debian package and thus i'm unable to configure the required credentials and stuff after the installation. I doubt whether this has something to do with the procedure I followed when uninstalling the previous package it. But what I did was just what's mentioned in the following [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/install.102/b25144/toc.htm] user guide published by oracle.
Another important clue would be, the platform of my machine is amd64bit although I'm dealing with an installation package preferred for i386. But I believe it's the only thing available in the oracle software download section. Hence I had to use the --force-architecture option to install it. But after reading some post published on this forum, I've figured out that it does not affect the usual execution of the software. Anyway,  I would greatly appreciate some help on this matter.

    Hi,
Finally I've managed to find a solution for this issue. Thanks a lot for all the replies.
Here's how I got rid of it.
Addressing all the facts one by one,
1.The problem of not getting the /etc/init.d/oracle-xe script generated was avoided
by removing all the configuration files that were previously created while installing
the product. The following command can be used to accomplish that task.
    *$ dpkg --purge oracle-xe*
2.Next, Initially the password I used during the configuration process was "admin".
Although I tried a couple of times installing the product providing the aforementioned
password, the web UI kept prompting "Invalid Credentials" message not allowing me
to login. But, this particular issue could be avoided by giving some other simple
    password.
Finally, got it working and once again thanks a bunch for taking the burden of
    replying this thread.
    Cheers,
    Prabath

    Hi RajendraP,
Please also make sure Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) must be installed as a prerequisite on computers running Windows 7. To install SP1, go to
    http://windows.microsoft.com/installwindows7sp1
Windows Management Framework 3.0 requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0. You can install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 at

  • Pacman Download DB issues while installing

    Hey,
So I'm new to any type of Linux, but I thought I'd try arch out since many people recommend end it to me.
I'm in the install shell from the livecd and whenever I try to pacman -Sy to get the databases, they download full speed for a second then the DL speed just keeps dropping until the download cancels saying that it was too slow (less than 1b per 10secs). I've seen people post similar problems on here but none of their solutions worked for me.
    Any help would be obliged,
    -Cynthia
(I'm on my phone typing this BTW)

    for clarity :
Are you doing that while booting from the livecd, or booting from the minimal base system installed on your harddrive ?
If from the hdd : Which guide did you follow for installing and were there network problems during the install ?
    Edit :
just realised your topic title says issues while installing.
Are you following https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners%27_Guide or another guide ?

  • Error while Installing ODI 11.1.1.6

    Hi All
We are using windows 2008 Server 64 bit , Installed Hyperion 11.1.2.2  64 bit , In that i am trying to Install ODI 11.1.1.6 for that i had downloaded Jdk-6u33-Windows-x64
Once download is done , In command prompt i tried to run set.exe
These are the paths i had tried for Installation of ODI in command prompt
    1.C:\ODI_11G_64BIT\DISK1\setup.exe - JreLoc C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_33
    2.C:\ODI_11G_64BIT\DISK1\setup.exe - JreLoc C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_29
"Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from C:\Users\*. Please wait ...
Please specify JDK location ( Ex. /home/jdk ), <location>/bin/java should exist:"
I had tried 32 bit java also it also  did not work.
i am getting above message its not runing
    Thanks

Try launching installer from location disk1\install\win64\setup.exe & provide JRE path as C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_29 (As it does not have spaces, which may be causing the issue)

  • Facing Issue while Installing SOA server for setting up BPM11g working environment

    Hi All,
I have been able to install Database and Weblogic Server but I am facing issue in installing SOA server.
I am trying to install it for running BPM 11g application.
I saw the same problem has already been answered but available solutions are not resolving my problem.
Error Message:Provide the JDK/JRE location while launching the installer.Invoke the setup.exe with -jreLoc<JDK/JRE location absolute path>parameter(s).
I tried both way for initializing the installation. i.e directly through setup.exe and by command prompt but in both the cases I am getting same error.
It is not asking for Java path in command prompt also.
a)In my system java 7 is installed.
b)I have used Oracle Database 11g instead of XE
    Can this be the reason?
    I checked Program Files:
    jre7 and jdk1.7.0_45 are there.
I also have set JAVA_HOME in environment variable as C:\Program Files\java\jre7
    path :C:\Program Files\java\jdk1.7.0_45\bin
Please help me in fixing this as I am stuck in this installation from last few days.
    Thanks!

    Hi Binay,
You might want to consider instead installing it using JDK 1.6.
Here's where you can check the Fusion Middleware configurations:  http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/downloads/fmw-11gr1certmatrix.xls
It's buried in there, but bottom line is that Oracle BPM 11g (PS6) 11.1.1.7 needs JDK 1.6 (for Windows it is either JDK 1.6.0_35 or JRockit 6 Update 37 R28.2.5+) and I'd suggest you use JRockit.

  • Issue while installing FatWire on weblogic server

I was trying to install CS with Weblogic as the Application server.
During the installation of CS, I faced an issue while integrating with LDAP. In log it showed "Could not connect to the application server.Error in creating LDIF file.
I had given the valid credentials.
Have anyone faced this issue previously, if so please guide me thorugh.
And also, Is it mandatory to use LDAP ?
    Thanks,
    Rahul Nair

It sounds like the application server was turned off whilst you were running the LDAP configuration tool. The tool needs the application server to be running.
It's not mandatory to have LDAP integration with CS, from what I have seen most existing customers don't use it. There are also some performance benefits to avoiding LDAP integration.
If you do want LDAP integration then you don't need to configure it immediately after install. The LDAP configuration tool can be run separately, e.g. after you are happy the fresh install is working as expected.

    HI All,
I am getting this error while installing.
I tried to modify the task file by changing from err to ign.The problem is that the taks sapview.tsk contains many entries i cannot change one and then try sapinst because i dont know what all views were created. Is there a way to check all the views created in the system.
I have changed from err to ign as it is a view and no data in it.How can we find out what all views are created.Thanks.

Please make sure you have all the views created else there will be issues in the system . These even though are only definitions , but are extremely important as they are referenced.
Some of the views have been created , so its not able to create a duplicate view in the SAP schema.
What you can do is change all the status to err in SAPVIEW.TSK and retry with the import.
That should drop and re-create all the views.
You should not manually change .TSK files unless you are very confident of the consequences .

Most probably you have hit this issue:
"If you have more than one Oracle Home installed on the same machine (e.g. Oracle8i client and Oracle9i Release 2 client), use the Oracle Home Selector to run your applications with Oracle9i Release 2 client. "

  • Issue while installing idm 8.1.1 gateway on 64 bit windows 2008 R2

    Hi
We have issue in installing idm 8.1.1 gateway on 64 bit windows 2008 R2
    C:\Program Files (x86)\IDM\gateway>gateway -i
An error occured while trying to install the service: Input/output error
Sun notes: if you're running 64-bit Windows 2008, you need the JDKTM Version 6 Update 12 and later.
But this java version should be there in Gateway server(windows 2008) or idm installed server?
We don't have java installed on gateway server. is this causing issue?
    please let us know
    Thanks

I may have found a workaround. Can you try to change the "compatibility mode" in 2008 R2 to "Windows XP SP3" and see if it will install?
Admittedly I have not done this myself so I'm not entirely sure where or how it's done, but I have confirmation it resolves the issue from others who have faced it.

    Hi,
Have u checked with searching with this ID in the business content installation page itself.
Under object type  Query element (ELEM).
Also check by setting grouping to flow before and after, and also display as list.
Then only for 'Query elements' right click and 'install all below'. and do not install all below setting for the rest of the objects and try.
that should get u all the necessary query elements.
    Hope it helps.
